Aisha Buhari calls for action on Dakolo's rape allegation against Fatoyinbo

The First Lady, Aisha Buhari, has called for action in the alleged case of rape against founder and senior pastor of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA), Biodun Fatoyinbo.

Busola Dakolo, a celebrity photographer, alleged two weeks ago that Fatoyinbo raped her twice in one week when she was a teenager fresh out of secondary school.

The allegation spurred scores of protesters to show up with placards at COZA's headquarters in Abuja and its Lagos branch on Sunday, June 30, 2019 demanding that pastor step down and face a criminal probe.

Fatoyinbo, who had dismissed the allegation as falsehood, announced the next day that he'll be taking a leave of absence from the pulpit.

With calls still strong for him to be prosecuted in court, Aisha Buhari has added her voice with a video post on her Twitter account (@aishambuhari) on Wednesday, July 10.

In the video shared by the first lady, correspondents of Your View, a programme on TVC, discuss channeling the outrage over the allegations to the right authorities.

In her caption for the video, expressed in hashtags, Aisha called on the Inspector-General of Police (Mohammed Adamu) to act.

"#IGofPolice #EveryoneGetInvolved #SayNoToRape," she posted.

Dakolo's explosive interview paved the way for several other claims that were posted on social media alleging that Fatoyinbo, a married man, had groomed a lot of women he's had sex with, including teenagers.

Another former member of his church revealed last week that the pastor raped her during a meeting between the two in 2017.

Why didn't she call for justice for the slain Christians in North Central Nigeria??
But for cheap popularity she is vocal on a case that's yet to be investigated...



The accused needs some seasoned lawyers to make a laughing stock of these naysayers..

Read book and understand the law as stated in constitution, u no go read... Na so so noise you all are making upandan!!

Based Nigerian and UK law, the man has no rape case to answer, adjudging from a cursory look.

While I am morally and ethically on the side of Busola in this saga, I don't really know that Mrs. Fayemi's claim that sexual relationship with anybody below 18 is statutory rape. At 11, Nigeria presently has the lowest age of consent in the world, and so it seems statutory rape doesn't apply before 11 in Nigeria. Even more absurd is that two kids, say, 9 and 10, engaging sexual relationship can technically be convicted of statutory rape because there are no legal protections for minors who find themselves in such a situation.

Clearly, Nigeria's laws need serious overhauling.

bro someone women pushed men to this level.

I am currently having issues with girlfriend now... she is no longer committed in the relationship like she was before...
she no longer show care and interest like before...I have asked her what is the matter only to tell me the last time we meet there were things she observed that she wasn't cool with
she told me some stuffs which does not make sense to me...I have apologized and promised to make up for our next meeting because we are in a long distance relationship...but still she is not committing asking me to give her more time to adjust.

I am getting tired and I can't date two women at the same time...I wanted her to let me if she is tired so that I can move on with the other lady around but she is holding me back.

so right now it's like I will be dating two ladies and still my plans to get married next year...
so you see some ladies with their non-seriousness and non-commitments make some guys double date just to see which is better and more committed

"Because we can't get along..." This is a typical scenario where a too clever by half woman (a man can equally be in her stead) was hit below the belt by a sly man. A case of two disingenuous people who crossed each others path - I couldn't afford to ascribe aristocracy to the man for the obvious reason, even though his intention from the inception could had been genuine as he claimed.

Always be wary of a wo/man who comes into your life and gives you an impression that you've no need to improve on any aspect of your disposition - this isn't an encouragement of subjugation by a partner to another - because that by extension unpronounced, means s/he doesn't owe you faithfulness. Fake libertarians are worse than domineering people - the man was either the former or latter in this case.

When someone's utmost interest in you is just to taste a little portion of whatever little good you can offer, he'll give you an impression that something like liberty, which is a right anyway, doesn't need conscientiousness for checks and balances. So, if you feel happy in a relationship or have peace of mind - all as a result of unchecked liberty - don't always assume and conclude that it's mutual. It may not be after all and you may be dealing with a sly partner, so consciously avoid being a victim of a pernicious act of a sly person, like in this case, by taking to altruism and conscientiousness. You can never go wrong with this in a matter of this nature. First-hand unpleasant experience like this is always avoidable.

In the end, and under normal circumstances, it's a man who chooses a woman to marry - a woman only has right of refusal.
