Hello seniors. I have an unusual question to ask. I am filling my application and I choose paying for Application fee alone how do I go about changing to both application fee and rprf fee. Thanks
It's either of these:

1. Save and log out. Log in again and back track to your e-APR profile questionnaires where you were initially asked to pick the payment options...change it there and save it.

Or

2. Towards the end of populating your e-APR questionnaire or towards the end of the uploading stage (after the questionnaire stage), (can't remember which clearly now) the system will ask you again the payment option that you want...whether you elect to pay for the RPRF fee now or not...

Please, those that just recently submitted should kindly help this Bro out.

I've been MIA (due to circumstances beyond my control) and i hv a simple confession, i cannot keep up again. No matter how hard I try angry i just cant sad

The pages in part 6, run at the speed of lightening and life here especially at the start can be a little demanding. The folks here work hard, but it is absolutely rewarding and you get to see visible results.

But when i check the updated PPR list on page 1 and i see our brother teecann aka 'it will end in praise' amongst other familiar monikers, then i have to dust my shekere and come out to rejoice with them.

Congratulations to everyone, PPR, IELTS, EOR and all. I cannot help but come back (even if i cant keep up) again and again to this amazing thread. This thread gave me hope, it was all i read at a point in time when i was down and out. I cannot forget that. God bless us all
I eventually had my own "shekere" shaken for me by no other but our own @stonecoldcafe AKA "Shekere lady" all the way from Canada. grin Aint I blessed? grin

On keeping up with the thread, don't be too hard on yourself...what is happening to you (lagging behind on the thread) has happened to people before you (GliterringStar, Cochtrane, et al) and will definitely still happen to the remainder of us still active here as we cross-over.

Relish in the memory which you hold of your sweet time here and now that you have started a new different life and schedule in Canada, come in as often as you can to celebrate with the e-family here...we understand your new situation and happy for you.

Finally dropped my resignation letter this morning. Whew! Mixed emotions.

Canada is calling my name. Speak Trudeau, your subject is listening.
Wow...mixed emotions indeed. I haven't dropped mine (hope to sometimes in Q2 2019) but I know what's going through my mind already even as of now...you are a brave woman.

It's not easy leaving a sweet known for the beautiful unknown.

But the assurance is that God has gone ahead of us to make the land favour us.

As my friend in Canada usual says..."You get better at flexing your "why not" muscles" making decisions that you know are the best for you long term even when you can't reason it all out at the start point of making those decisons.

BTW, how many months' notice did you give your employer according to your HR policy?

My interview story: conducted on September 18, 2018 in Accra.

My interview was for 10am and I got there at 9:20. The security goes through all your bags and takes every electronic device including your chargers. She took my electric toothbrush even.
Then you walk through a metal detector and then go back to her to collect the rest of your stuff that she hasn’t kept in a locker. She will then direct you to another security post where you write your name and purpose and collect a visitor badge. Then you are directed to the waiting room for interviews.
You are to immediately go to the window and drop your documents then go and sit down. There’s a toilet, a water dispenser and a TV that no one turned on.
Wow wow wow!!!

See what a "child of God" has to go through to get a PPR...kilode huh huh As if it's not tough enough to package an application for submission, address ADR issues/GCMS exceptions talk less of the wait...

@SkyWalk, one thing I can tell you is that, if you believe, God will honour your diligence, push and hustle and you will be one of the very first set that AVO will release soon. I share this word of faith also as a point of contact for @Threemg and other AVO folks.

One thing is certain, soon, very soon....this thread will be agog in celebratory uproar

Maybe not necessarily a week or two leave, but we can't overemphasise what these guys have been saying about practice, practice, practice.

Just like you, during my time, I stayed back in the office 3 hours after close of work every day for 3 straight weeks to ace my 2nd attempt. It was a do or die affair!

I really feel for people having great band scores in LSR, just to witness writing messing up such lovely scores. It's really sad. angry

IELTS is a test of tricks. Thats why it is difficult for some because it requires intense practice and study from you. It is not completely a test of your English language skills.

Just like all trick tests, there is a marking scheme which must be complied with in other to pass the exam. For writing, you have to satisfy task response, cohesion and coherence, lexical resource and vocabulary (grammatical range and accuracy). Each of these carry 9 points and you only get the average as your final score of each task, and the average of both tasks as your final score.

So the aim is to learn the tricks ( which is peculiar to each person by the way) that you need to surmount the test and the only way you can learn the tricks is by practicing diligently to identify your flaws, then studying assiduously to device your tricks on how to overcome the flaws, then practicing well to master the devised tricks.

E.g., you know task 2 carries twice as much marks as task 1, meaning if you get a 9 in task 1 and 6 in task 2, your final score will be (6*2+9)/3=21/3=7. But if you get an 8 in task two and 7 in task one, your final score will be (8x2+7)/3=7.666. So common sense will tell you that it is more profitable (given time constraints) to start with task 2 and write it well for more marks.

This is just one of the various tricks you will discover through practice and review. If you dive in with your everyday knowledge and confidence of English, it is bound to fail.
I agree with you 100%. You re in the know.

The agent really no get joy.

Another perspective: I'm not sure it is about the date exactly. The guy apparently submitted only his FD statement that he raised 11 days to his AOR. He/She fixed it for 1yr thinking it would cover all doubts

The guy might get an ADR for 1yr salary account SOA to cross-check that he is not indebted.

@Godisincontrol
I have thoughts too similar to your thoughts at the bold part above.

True, he might just get an ADR for salary account SOA to satisfy the mind of the case officer reviewing.

Wow, this POF thing, one can't be too careful.

Ahn ahn this Case Officer's own is too much joor
FD can still be liquidated long before the maturity. The one year is not enough reason to just cancel the entire POF and say the person has CAD $0
Choi!!

Anyway, lesson learned; if you're buying Tbills or using FD, choose six months or less. The option of investing for one year should be avoided
You have a point there- the case officer really "showed himself" cos FDs can be liquidated at any point before maturity.

However, it's better and maybe smarter to do a 90 day FD with instructions to roll-over another 90 days.

That's exactly what I did in my case and I kept rolling over every other 90 days like that for over a year period. With that, you can proof the fund history. Even if you decide to incrementally build your funds further, all the better (if you add to the existing funds to make it larger and roll it over).

Hi @TEECANN, pls I think I may need same favor from you, but the only difference here is that mine is not due to a change of name. Can I send you a pm for same details? Plus I also need clarification on when exactly (December or January ) I should start processing a new passport if the old one is expiring in June 2019. The officer I spoke to is insisting it has to be in January
Yes, for renewal, your existing passport has to be less than 6 months valid before the Nigerian passport office of the Immigration Service can approve issuance of a renewed passport to you. Visit www.immigration.gov.ng for more information.

Meanwhile, you can submit your PR application with your existing passport whilst waiting for the new one to come out(I'm sure the renewed passport should be out before your PR application gets approved),when you receive the new passport, then raise a Case Specific Enquiry (CSE) webform (search for the webform on www.canada.ca) to update CIC on the new passport and you"ll just be fine.

I heard it's 16,610 per passport now. N460 is SMS fee within that amount which you can decide to pay or not. It is not beneficial in any way. Courier fee is optional too. If you are picking it yourself, no need to pay that. Add the VFS consent letter. It's one of the requirements. Very easy to fill.
This VFS Consent form;

Should consent forms be filled and submitted for minors too (Principal applicant's children) in order to hand collect their passports from VFS Lekki when returned with visa from Accra VO?

To my mind, it looks not necessary for children (though technically speaking, they are applicants in their own rights too in the family application) but the PA should be able to collect for minor applicants in the family application without filling consent forms na?

Please, @newmum and others, what do you think?

BTW, the VFS transmission fee currently is N17,790 per passport

Thank you.

@DBJay,

Pls when you get to VFS tomorrow, kindly come back here to let me know what's the current transmission fee (I got the info that the price has changed and I don't understand the array of price list on their website)

2. Please also find out whether we can exempt Courier fee if we want to come and pick up the passports personally.

3. Lastly, help me ask whether it's compulsory to add a filled "VAC consent form" so as to be able to collect my family's passports back upon return from Accra.

@All

Please if you have the latest info on the above points, kindly help out. My head is so full presently grin

Just to be clear:

I ve prepared the following docs- VFS checklist

1. Printed PPR lettter (1 copy)

2. Original International Passport booklets (all of us)

3. Photocopy of passport biodata page (2 copies per each person)

4. Passport photographs in stated requirements (2 copies per each person)

5. Hand filled Height and Eye colour Chart (1 copy attached to PPR letter)

6. Cover letter stating amongst other things that "family configuration has not changed"

Are we good to go my good people in the know? grin

I want to first of all THANK GOD, for this journey thus far as He has given me and my family many praise endings on this journey!!

It all started late 2016 during my annual leave. The leave afforded me the time to think deeply about my life and future and that of my young family in this country and I concluded I have to move if for nothing but for the sake of my kids.

I started out with the Canadian Study route (whilst I thought [at the time] that the Express Entry route was a long thing and difficult to achieve) God bless friends that I spoke with who encouraged me to give Federal Skilled Workers Class [FWS] a try.
(In retrospect, to imagine that the 3 schools that I applied to rejected my applications...Don't even let me talk about what I have spent hustling that route....God would have been looking at me and be like "yinmu" at me) grin grin

I and wifey wrote our first IELTS with almost similar scores...but we couldn’t use the score to climb into the 440s CRS range)- I got bad advice that I shouldn't waste money re-writing IELTS, that I should just pack into a PNP and coast to nomination for an eventual sure ITA- I did and till tomorrow, I didn’t know what made me take that advice (Don’t even let me talk of how much I have spent [and obviously wasted] on this PNP hustle talk less of bad advice that I recieved to cut some corners that would have marred my Canadian dreams ultimately by now). Thank God I didn’t heed the advice and faced re-taking my IELTS.

In Oct, 2017, I submitted an application to SINP. As at Dec 2017, I hadn’t received provincial nomination, little did I know that I was setting myself up for frustration and delay...unending test of patience for months...(You guys here on FSW can never understand what folks on the PNP route go through just to get the same ITA that we celebrate here on a regular) Here, many are even yet to understand the acronym- MEP- and before you say Jack Robi...., its PPR for them!
Frustration and lack of movement on my PNP application made me resit the IELTS and God did it enough for us to climb to 441!! (I can never forget friends here who advised against procuring an EOR for that IELTS as I had proposed to do so as to have a higher CRS than 441, they said that the score will drop and that I should wait it out…days after their advises, it did drop and I clinched an ITA on May 23, 2018)
I promptly withdrew my SINP application and bid the provincial program farewell for good. They acknowledged my intention to withdraw with a formal letter of withdrawal.

Yet again, another hiccup; My first EE profile of October 20th, 2017 became ineligible on the April 30, 2018, I missed ITA of May 9, 2018 though I had enough CRS points but because of the tie breaking rule pegged at Dec 2017, I couldn't clinch one then (as my new profile of May 1, 2018 didn't qualify- it was painful)

We did medicals in Qlife and it went smoothly. No issues. We passed medicals 3 weeks post-AOR.

We uploaded Schedule A form as part of our e-APR documents. CIC didn’t ask for it but because myself and wifey had some UK tourist visa refusals between us, we thought to note it in a Schedule A instead of being distracted with an ADR that may come later.

THINGS TO NOTE FROM OUR GCMS NOTE:

1. POF: I submitted GTbank letter in CIC format capturing my current and savings accounts balances and the fixed deposit that I have with the bank.
I also submitted the Fixed Deposit Investment letter from GTbank and letter from Stanbic IBTC pensions with my Pensions Statement of Account with a LOE stating that I have 25% available to me 4 months post resignation.

Case Officer noted all that I submitted including the 25% of pensions balance and converted naira to CAD and recommended POF criterion MET.
NOTE: 25% of my pension total sum was about about 60% of our POF, it was not a POF buffer in our case, it was a large chunk of our POF and it was passed.

2. CHANGE OF WIFE’S SURNAME POST-AOR: We got another passport for wifey though her maiden name passport was still very much beyond 6 months validity but we wanted her CoPR and PR Card to have a uniform surname as the rest of the crew. So after AOR, we applied for a new passport for change of name at Ikoyi, the passport came out after 4 weeks later and I raised a CSE for it. The name change reflected 48 hours later in my profile and the changed surname also reflected in our GCMS note.

I thank God because it was a generally smooth and issues-free application that took a total of 117 days post AOR.

I came here, I saw, I learnt and I made friends…too many friends to start mentioning you one by one, those that I have met one on one, those that I have built affinities with here and even those that don’t know me but are generally men and women of goodwill who always wish me and my family well...I thank you all for your encouragement, support and faith keeping.

Permit to specially recognize MAY 23RD ITA CLINCHERS (whatever time you submitted)…you guys made the wait fun, this is not the time to loose hope, infact everything is still on course and the eagle is getting nearer home with the golden mail; we shall all celebrate your PPRs before Christmas BGG!

** My heart goes out to those who are yet to clinch the ITA especially those on the border line of 435-439, and those awaiting PPRs, you know how we do na- keep the faith up, do all you have to do to improve the CRS legitimately because one thing is certain, iyanu ma sele soon and it will definitely end in praise IJN!

All that end well is that that ends in praises!

Proportion of Nigerians...let's say 10%...an exaggeration...that's just 30k Nigerians...less than 1% of population growth......Nigeria will be fine....

.......and regarding the national financial loss emigration represents...CAD30k POF for an average family times 30k people per year..... far less than the loot from the national treasury over the past 50 years.....

Folks, let's research and read up...most immigration policy directions sounds funny to the ears but it's what it is. grin grin...

We can't "wing" this application process on what we were told or how we feel it should sound! grin
