rainazoe:@rainazoe Yes, I began processing the CPA Ontario's Internationally Trained Accountants' (ITA) path registration. I quickly realized that my ICAN ACA amounts to little in the conversion process as I was expected to practically challenge most of the papers in the CPA Ontario exams all over (Biko, not at this ol' age again ) so I kind of abandon the process (the painful part was all the kish I had expended to get registered)But recently, I have found a way around the matter through CIMA, so I won't have to write CPA Ontario papers again, I'll just apply using CIMA for direct CPA membership through the MRA (mutual recognition agreement) CIMA has with CPA Ontario. Se fini However, the caveat is that from registering for CIMA(using ICAN) to using CIMA to register for CPA Ontario's membership, I will cost around 700k naira (yes, almost a million naira). IMHO, I still prefer to spend it than re-writing those papers. Another caveat, as an immigrant, you have to sort out your membership of CIMA before stepping foot in Canada, if you start the process of taking CIMA exams or converting your ICAN to CIMA after landing, they wont accept it (It's on CPA Ontario website) These stuffs are long and windy but it with diligent research and prompt action, they are doable. It will end in praise IJN! |
Blackbuddy:Same to you bro. Here is one of our real MVP, mentor and lifetime hall of famer @Blackbuddy God bless your good works, home and your affairs. It will end in praise IJN! |
CONGRATULATIONS to @Expectantbee and @Doppler06 on the revelation of your spanking new PPRs!! This is such a joyous and happy moment for you both, one which I'm sure you'll relish for some time to come. ![]() I'm glad this phase of the journey- a self rediscovery and destiny restructuring journey- ended in praises!! Go and flourish in Canada, we are coming behind ya! ![]() |
justwise:@Justwise, My attention has been drawn here to your above quoted message. Permit me to set the issue straight: BACKGROUND: I have been on NL since late 2007 (My first moniker- TCANN went with the tsunami that hit NL sometimes ago) As a respectable and senior member of this community, I will not do anything that willfully & knowingly contravenes the modus operandi of the land. TO THE ISSUE: In late May 2018 when I received ITA alongside some other beautiful folks here, the idea was mooted by the members who got ITA on the same day, that a group to support each other's application preparation and eventual submission won't be a bad idea. It was meant to be a specific-goal group with closed membership. All of the May ITAists (Less than 10) have since submitted their applications and the support objective achieved and concluded. I want to believe you should be fairly well certain that I am not here for any commercial agenda or clandestinely canvassing for membership to any public forum or group in the manner that your post portrays- "...advertising Whatsapp groups". That will be far from the truth! (we have come a long way since the early days of the UK tourist visa thread )Finally, I want to appreciate your consistency and leadership in managing this behemoth, seriously, you deserve some accolades! ![]() It will end in praise IJN! |
Estac:Congratulations. Beautiful thing this phase ended in praises! God that perfected it will go with you to Cannyland and grant you favour there. Go and flourish! We are coming behind. |
cochtrane:My good friend @ cochtrane How are you generally? I'm sure Canada is treating you well. ![]() Take well of you. It will definitely end in praise IJN! |
We are not giving up. Checked my result this morning.. I'm more than humbled. Till next yr again cutieplum:Good advice at bold parts above. Waiting till next year to retake? wrong decision (barring financial constraints) Give yourself 3-4 weeks of re-strategizing time to take a very deep and objective look/practice of your weak areas and re-fire!! As @cutieplum posited, "you'd become so good with each test that you'd pretty much predict the outcome even before the results are released" It will end in praise IJN! |
Happy birthday in arrears @mcstan18 Good bless you. Good to know that you have left behind you the "minus 5 points" scare for this birthday ![]() Your next shall be a Fall celebration in Cannyland. ![]() It will end in praise IJN! |
dumprep:Wow, 100 days! I told you you are almost there! BTW, how did you count your post-AOR days? Did you include or exclude weekends and public holidays in Canada? I 've always been curious to know how folks here count this "post-AOR" days. It will end in praise IJN! |
Congratulations to @stonecoldcafe and @joesgirl Glad this phase of the journey has ended beautifully in joyous outburst of tambourine-ushered praises. I can almost touch your happiness and elation. Go and flourish in Canny, we are coming behind you! |
Congratulations @Jemulsboy Happy for you it ended in praise! Go ahead and flourish in our beloved home, we are coming behind ya! ![]() By the way (BTW), what happened today? Didn't anybody get ITA today? The house is too quiet for an ITA draw day! It is well ooo! This 2018 strategy that CIC is pursuing, ehhhh...I only hope for the a miracle for my folks here on the 430s range. Please, don't throw in the towel yet (I'm talking to someone here), try and utilize all the options available to up your CRS, keep focus and hinge on God for strength. It will definitely end in praise! |
dumprep:Good news there...You re almost there! It will end in praise IJN! |
dumprep:Congrats my sister @dumprep Any gist from your GCMS that we can learn from? Everytime any of us go for the GCMS note is always a good opportunity learn one or two things about the workings of the mind of the immigration system. It will all end in praise IJN! |
Stratnergy:I had to quote this bros in full, not a word removed! To those entering this Canadian hustle via federal skilled worker category of the express entry (and are quick to grumbling after 3 weeks post-AOR ), I present to you this day, the REAL MVP of this Canadian hustle. This bros truly knows what it is to be patient! 2 years from application for Manitoba's PNP (paper based) nomination to PPR! Are you kidding me ![]() This bros deserves some accolades, abeg. All I can tell you @Stratnergy is that in as much that I know that you will forever appreciate this long fought-for dream that God delivered as victory into your hands, watch out, God will settle you big time in Canada, he's not done with you yet in blessing! Go and flourish in Canny, it has ended for you in praise for this phase! |
CanadianBae:Whilst checking in to Distraction hospital, I'm pretty sure if her condition is quite serious, she may be placed on "pre-arrival session" procedure. This procedure is known to be a tested and trusted option to remedy her plight. ![]() It will end in praise IJN! |
4wearegreat:Congratulations @4wearegreat ITA fall on you come September 19th by the grace of God. I like your grit and staying power, this story and many similar ones humble me. Please don't be quick to forget the lessons in determination and focus that you have picked up alongside earning your desired language score (just a little secret- you and I will need it in Canada )I see God rewarding your troubles with a fast timeline to PPR! It will definitely end in praises IJN! |
A big congratulations to @Kmgb and all the ITA clinchers today. Speedy processing I pray for you. The prologue has ended, now let the main plot unfold into success. ![]() For those still having one issue or the other preventing you from getting the ITA so preciously desired, stay on it, stay strong and focused, it will give, sooner than you expected! It will all end in praise IJN! |
HRgirl: ![]() It is well. It will definitely end in praise IJN! |
howfar2:Congrats. I can understand your lack of "ginger" in announcing the PPR which is probably as a result of decreased interest due to the extended processing timeline. With regards to the bold part above, as a matter of fact and in relation to what we have observed over time in different PPR stories, "extensive shuttling to different continents" most often work against applications (that is, attracts delays for applications) than those that have minimal or no foreign travel histories at all. All the same, God eventually perfected that which concerns you and it is beautiful in our sight! Go and flourish in Canada as this phase has ended for you in praises!! |
Newmum0615:Gbam!!! I was just going to add the bold portion as an addendum to your post till I read the write-up to the last lines and I saw it sitting beautifully there. It can't be overemphasized, and folks be like you are exaggerating it- RESEARCH, RESEARCH AND RESEARCH SOME MORE!! (Even the Canada that we are going to- it's a information-driven society and you gotta research to make the best decisions/ or get the most out of the society over there - nobody is going to spoon-feed anybody with info, you gotta fish it out. So if you don't start to develop the researching culture now, how do you even hit the GO train website to know your stop and train time for your interview in downtown Toronto?)) I ve been reading about the numerous processes of this Canadian immigration hustle for some time now (from multiple sources) and how they all work together and still reading till today, even parts of the process that do not directly concern me! (you cant know it all, but at a point you will know enough to make you confident in your decisions and elected solutions). There is still alot to know- where to settle, how to get accommodation, school boards and best school types for the kids, sites to get best of vacancies, how to get drivers license etc. Ask Newmum0615 if you think I'm exaggerating things! This journey is not just some wishful "me too want to go to Canada"...there are loads of culture-shock all the way! I as a person- I don't want to join the bandwagon of Naija diasporans shouting all over social media that "obodo oyinbo is not easy ooo" hence I need to be sufficiently armed with the necessary info to be ahead of the pack in making the right decisions per time! Ok ooo, I rest my case. It will all end in praises IJN! |
Utonne:HOW TO SOLVE SCANNING THE POLICE FINGERPRINT A3 LONG DOCUMENT (SAME FOR LONG MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE DOC) 1. I used the mobile "camscanner App" on my tablet to scan (capture) the long A3 fingerprints document and converted it to a PDF file and emailed it to myself. (The Camscanner app works like your phone camera- just pace your long doc on a flat table, open the app and snap the document like you would snap a picture, make sure that the shot captures all the document edges, then the app will work on the captured doc and convert it to PDF) 2. I then opened my email on my laptop and downloaded the PDF attachment from my email for use. 3. I then uploaded it into my e-APR placeholder (after merging it with the Police Character Certificate [the other shorter document]) NB: Be careful to upload your PCC into the right and correct placeholder- the Police Character Certificate placeholder It will all end in praises IJN! |
Zeewirld:Well said! I share your sentiments and fears too. But another question is: Do the "powers that be"- both in the public and private sectors- really care? If you like, leave, you have just simply given them slots to fill with their nieces and nephews- whether things get operated professionally and with experience hands, is another issue altogether for this class of proletariat. It is saddening oooo, this exodus rate ehhhhh! It will end in praise IJN! |
o2:Yes, I opened a new profile but eventually retrieved my earlier GCKey credentials to log into my account. The referred case is not similar, I'm afraid... @case ops, try to retrieve your password using your saved security questions. If that doesn't work, raise a technical issue query on www.canada.ca and see whether they can help. It will end in praise IJN! |
Newmum0615:Part 5 of yesterday. At this rate, ehhh, hmmmm. Arguably the most popular thread on nairaland as of today. It will all end in praise IJN! |
JonJon2017:Calm down. We have the same AOR. I haven't acheived MEP too(and same for many of our AOR compatriots), For an averagely regular application, it's even too early to expect MEP now na. Go and keep yourself busy or else you'll just give yourself unnecessary heartache. It will end in praise IJN |
Congrats to all our new ITA clinchers. The main journey is just starting after this ITA phase. Take your time to arrange and organize all your documents properly. Check and check again all the information before submitting your e-APR Ask questions anytime and every time you are in doubt. I pray for those that missed ITA by the whiskers, we'll celebrate you too soon. Just stay calm, keep focus and try all you can legitimately and humanly do to cross the ITA hurdle (The ITA matter this year has been crazy and "tight" coupled with the fact that the Canadian express entry route is increasingly getting popular globally hence the difficulty in the cutoff coming down) I firmly believe and know that it will all end in praises IJN! |
Osaze007:I rejoice with you that this stage of the journey beautifully ended in praise for you. We return all the glory to God...it can only be Him! Go and flourish in the future stages of your rebirth and dominion living in Cannyland. It is well with you! |
Newmum0615:Congratulations @Newmum0615 my sister. God delivered a victorious ending to you laddened with praises! I'm so happy for you and your family that this ended in beautiful praises to His mighty name. Meanwhile, as a senior citizen of NL (been around since 2008 ), I confer on you this day award of the longest and most detailed PPR announcement post till date. ![]() Maka why nne? But you tried sha, very good resource there for newbies to glean into for proper guidance. |
tobey2ng:Congratulations. So glad you made ITA, indeed that route of PNP that you took to clinch your ITA is not for the faint-hearted, I ve an idea of what you must have passed through. With that stage behind you now, you'll quickly notice that this post-ITA leg of the journey will require all that you have learnt in focus, staying power, attention to details etc... It will all end in praise IJN! |
Matilda2609:I think you are on the right route. Keep at it...that's the trick...consistency of practice, soon you'll get a grip of it and your practice score will come up on the average. Just be focused and keep keeping at it daily. During my time, I did 2/3 hours everyday after close of work (I stay back in the office, everywhere quiet and my earphones on) for almost a month. With time, nobody will tell you, you will know that you are getting a hang of the "ish"...also, your weak areas will increasingly become evident to you as you practice different types of questions and you'll need to devise your own strategy to address those weak areas in time for the test (Cos you can't get ready 100% overall- ie be test ready and gotten all weak areas eliminated), if you feel ready 80-90%, then you are good to go! By the way (BTW), how long have you been doing your daily dose of Listening practices? I'll suggest you keep at it for a while though! (Listening was my headache too, so I can understand your plight , but God did it with dint of focus and hardwork)It will all end in praise IJN! |
Osaze007:Congratulations. Your case was one that teaches many things including faith in God, focus, staying power and ultimately going for what you believe God can do. I can imagine how you will feel when you break the news to them in that office of yours. ![]() Thank God it ended in praise for you! Go and blossom in the new land. |
) so I kind of abandon the process (the painful part was all the kish I had expended to get registered)
