survivor1986: No offense but I doubt it. How can they give both of us PPR even without her writing IELTS? Adding her without her IELTS drops our points below 440 ordinarily. So I strongly doubt if IRCC will allow us to bypass the need for Spouse’s IELTS by simply marrying her after AOR. Hi, you may want to read up as @influential101 has advised. Many people have done this (marrying and adding soouses post AOR and even post PPR ) on the previous threads without IELTS and ECA required of their spouses. As for now, people are still using that window in the Canadian immigration policy (get ITA as a single, delay marriage till after AOR and then raise CSE to add spouse post AOR or even post PPR) till maybe when the system realises it and make it not accessible again. I wish not! Anyone that wants to go that route should should make hay while the sun is still shining. It will end in praise IJN! |

Sthill5: I don't have any visa/stamps for my current passport.
So I'm settling for uploading my current passport and previous visa/stamps for the previous passports and leaving out the bio data pages of my two expired passports
Would that be ok? Good move. That's exactly what I did and from all indications, IRCC was OK with it. It will end in praise IJN! |

laghopeful20181: Good morning people,
I am post ITA (5 days left to submit before my deadline). I was uploading supporting documents and cross checking them when I realised my husband's IELTS expired on the 3rd of November (I am the principal applicant). Without his IELTS our score drops to 438 and we would not qualify for the draw from which we were selected (cut off was 441). I have modified family information and changed him to unaccompanying spouse...score becomes 451 hence the children and I can go ahead to submit without him. Note also I loose 5 points in 2 weeks due to age change. Our choices as I understand them are either 1. Submit without him, sponsor him as a spouse when we get ppr and land 2. Decline invitation, get him to write IELTS, hope he scores well enough and get back in the pool. However with this option, there is the added complication of 5 points lost due to age change...so what's the guarantee we score high enough to meet cut off! I used the CRS tool, using 6666 for IELTS score for him and using my new age... our score would be 442
My questions are: A. Is there any other option I have not already considered? B. How long does spousal sponsorship take?(I have researched but you know timeline given by CIC and reality of life sometimes differ and I would prefer to base my decisons on reality) C. My research indicates that I will not be able to add him after AOR (since it is not a new marriage...visa officer might wonder why the sudden change of mind?). Additionally, I am not sure if even if it is possible to add him after AOR, score will not be recalculated using the fact that he had no valid IELTS at time of ITA received. Is this research accurate or is there a possibility of adding him legally after AOR?
I'm so upset at myself for not paying attention to the IELTS expiry date...this is a lesson to all. As I understand it, unfortunately only age is frozen upon receipt of ITA..IELTS result is not frozen. Option 2. It's unfortunate but let him re-take IELTS quickly. I'm sure you will clinch another ITA looking at the trend. That's the faster option ooo. Don't even think about the sponsorship option. That's setting yourself up for a long frustrating thing. It will end in praise IJN! |

Hephgirl: Kids with dual passport, which passport did u use? Send both but I doubt it whether the visa vignette will be stamped into any of your US citizen kids. The US citizen kid will most likely be issued CoPR and eTA approval.(as US citizens don't need visas to enter into Canada except filling of a simple questionnaire called eTA) Whilst you (a Nigerian citizen) will be issued a 1 entry PRvisa and CoPR. You don't have anything to loose, send all passports in and come back to educate us after you receive your CoPR. It will end in praise IJN! |

exceedinglory: Thanks @ TEECANN
AUTHORITY TO RELEASE PERSONAL INFORMATION TO A DESIGNATED INDIVIDUAL was the only ADR I had. I suspect the reason for this ADR was because I gave my sister in-law who leave in Canada authority to request for information on my application from CIC PRE- ITA, but didn't give her that authority POST-ITA. I guess the Officer wanted to be sure of my position on that.
I didn't take any action on the review required for settlement funds and PCC seen in my 1st GCMS notes. My POF was Fixed deposit and Treasure Bill . I also included 25% of my pension funds to cushion the likely effect of fluctuation in exchange rate.
Regards, Thanks for sharing @exceedinglory and congrats once again. God made everything to work together to end in praise for your family. So happy. I also have a similar family size as yours. Lastly on my lessons, In submitting your application, did your FD and TB TOTALLY cover for your family size LICO (without considering any amount from the 25% pension)
OR
Was part of your 25% pensions calculated (together with the FD&TB) to make up for LICO amount needed for your family size?(NB: In my case, 80% of our POF was FD whilst the 20% balance I provided through my 25% pensions) It will end in praise IJN! |

Iyamarun: What you do is speak Yoruba to them all the time. My kids don't interact too as its from home to school, school to house and be inside fence all day. All my kids speak Yoruba including my 3 year old and what I do is speak to them in Yoruba concerning anything at all. Even when I pick them up from school the only English I speak Is "get into the car" I start with the 'Bawo ni school?, oya e jekalo, bag e da? "
So if it's to get a glass of water. When u say "bami bu omi wa" and they look confused just say "get me water" next time they know what it means. Don't make the sentences long too. Keep it short and Simple and with time they get to express well.
No matter where we are I speak my Yoruba to the kids. I don't care who's looking. Cos sometimes I get stares and Na me sabi wetin I want. They already speak good English so why not Yoruba?
I even think they will learn faster as they are kids, so just try simple conversations with them and request for things in Yoruba, ask questions in Yoruba. Don't give up. They will get it.
I've also heard of kids who speak 3 languages well (never seen one though) but I'm hoping my kids will learn and know French too. So na French Yoruba English all join. Wow...I doff my hat for your conscientiousness. We'll try to put to use your suggestions. Hoping for a successful outing. It will end in praise IJN! |

2. How did the peek from your 1st GCMS note in respect of (REVIEW REQUIRED FOR SETTLEMENT FUND AND POLICE CLEARANCE CERTIFICATE) pan out? -What did you use as POF? -Did CIC raise any other issue on the POF after the time you saw the comment on your GCMS note? - Did you make any move (eg CSE etc) to address the "review required" that you saw?Congrats once again. Obeetee: Thank you all for this forum. I just need clarification on these two issues.1) my wife was denied a US visa alongside her family 2years ago before we got married. When I asked her if they were given reasons for refusal she said NO,that her Family was given a pink form after the interview.I intend to state it during my application Post ITA (spousal refusal). The thing is do I need an LOE?I am guessing so..How should the LOE be constructed to make it detailed yet less complex? 2)For my POF,we have a deed of gift for funds transferred to our joint account from my father in-law.We intend to put it into treasury bills and present the TB certificate alongside deed of gift for POF.i know I should include 6months statement of this joint account but since it isn't my salary account will it be ok if I add 6month statement of my salary account? Will an LOE suffice to explain these accounts statements as well as the source of my POF?I will really want to limit LOEs for sake of complexity. Please advise.Thank you I kind of get what you are trying to achieve, but lets try to watch the usage of immigration terminologies that explains something totally different from what we are trying to pass across. 1. In the whole of your matter, there's nothing resembling "spousal refusal"...you have not married your wife as at the time she earned the refusal in question. Even, if you were married, spousal refusal in immigration parlance relate to a totally different scenario. 2. That said and to your issue, I think your matter is simple: a. When you begin to fill your profile forms, state in the relevant area requesting for your wife's past travel history details (where you see such) b. Next, after populating the profile forms, your placeholders to upload your docs will pop up...one of these placeholders is for "Letter of explanations and other miscellaneous", here you will upload your General Letter of Explanation, Schedule A form for your wife and you, if you have past refusal too(it is in filling this form that you'll state your past visa refusal and simple details for same), past visa refusal note etc everything merged into a PDF of less than 4mb in file size. NB: Schedule A form is available for free download on www.canada.ca3. Note that you may elect not to upload your SCHEDULE A form with your application at this time till the time they asked for it in an ADR request.4. Proceed carefully with diligence... It will end in praise IJN! |

wisdom4today: Congratulations bro! So happy for you.
Please about the bolded, did you find out why your RSA wasn't considered? Was any reason given? Because, am considering using RSA to make up my POF. Thanks. This matter has been flogged severally on the thread in the time past. Seniors here have put informed 1 plus 1 together and taken cues from people's GCMS notes and it was concluded thus: Most times, the VO may not bother to levy your pensions balance where other funds submitted covers the POF required for the family size. Hence some people conclude that their pensions weren't used. That doesn't mean that the 25% pension account balance is not acceptable as a source of POFI for one used 25% of my RSA balance (and so also many here) and I haven't received any ADR for "inadequate POF" as of today. Don't put yourself under any unnecessary stress of chasing what is not. Try to research these things and be guided appropriately. It will end in praise IJN! |

Flaj: It's no longer "being proactive". It's already getting to selfishness. There is one aunty that booked dates in both Qlife and Children Practice but she didn't use any of it, she ended up walking in on a different day while locking spaces that would have been available for at least 2 families; and i doubt that she has called the clinics to cancel her appointments I agree with you...but you know Nigerians now, ...your people will always "show" themselves. It doesn't still make it right though! It will end in praise IJN! |

Franklyly: Thank you so much, my profession was not on the EE list, so I will go with 2 or more. In the case of Degree and PGD, I will need to send only the PGD for evaluation right ? Bro. Don't wing your hustle on this journey. As advised, do your deep research about this life-changing journey to get a full hang of the whole process...your research includes "page 1" links of this thread. suzzyallen: Pls other suggestions on the above issue is highly appreciated. Congrats @suzzyallen. Your matter is not hard at all. Reach out to the Local VO stamping you and copy CIC HO (preferably email...do a detailed email explaining your circumstance(just say that the family has a firm travel plan for so so date with tickets already bought..add the tickets as evidence in attachment). Do a follow call up in if you can to CIC and local stamping VO) and seek for stamping request be moved to Sydney, Australia. Do the request email early now...as in now! Don't delay. I'm almost 97% sure, the family will get stamped in Sydney VO. In the alternative, if your Australian arrival time is still within the 15 days window, then do an express courier of the passports to your stamping VO. (It won't take courier more than 4 days max to get from anywhere in the world to anywhere else in the world)- Not sure about this though..ask around whether you can boycott VSF global Lagos by sending your passport to Accra VO directly from abroad. Fret not, we have seen similar scenarios here...PPR came, husband schooling in Australia and wife somewhere else. They got CIC exemption to get stamped separately in the nearest VOs to them. No big deal. Congratulations once again on your double blessings. Go and flourish wherever you eventually choose to settle. That which you choose shall be your Goshen. It will all end in praise IJN! |

mbakweich: Help please! My AOR is 31st August and my passport would expire march 2019. What stage would be best for me to go for a new passport and how do I notify CIC? will it cause any processing delays for me? Any Idea on how to know which office is attending to my file? @ what stage can I add the lady I want to settle with in my application?
thanks Start now... You can renew your passport when it's 6months to expiry period. As an Aug AOR, there's a high chance that you will get an ADR for a new Internatuonal passport because by the time your application gets to the real IP2, you'll probably have less than 6months validity time left on your current international passport and that may trigger an ADR request for a new one to be submitted to CIC. Meanwhile, you re ripe for a renewal with the Passport office dept of the Nigerian Immigration Service, as you can only renew when your current passport has 6 or less months validity. Go ahead and initiate the process for renewal. After collecting the new passport, raise a CSE webform to send it in to CIC. İf you have time, do a short and simple LOE and scan the new passport together with the LOE into one PDF and upload into your CSE. NB: İt won't cause any processing delays for you if you start now by being proactive and sending in the new passport and avoiding them requesting an ADR for it. It will end in praise IJN! |

purplerain: Hi All.
Long post alert!
Its PPR guys. Yes o, after 7 months, London VO has freed me. AOR: 4 March 2018 MEP: 13 March 2018 ADR 1: 19 Sep 2018 ADR 2: 2 Oct 2018 RPRF : 5 Oct 2018 IP2 : 9 Oct 2018 PPR: 9 Oct 2018.
In January 2018, Hubs and I decided to apply for Canadian PPR. I am the primary applicant, and I have a foreign masters degree, so WES evaluation was pretty easy. A day after we entered the pool, we received our ITA. I always knew our application would get sent to London. It was a feeling i couldnt shake. On 21-Mar 2018, i got a "how to get a job in canada email". Chai, i knew we had entered 1 chance
I called hubby and told him my worst fears had come true. But he was still trying to give me hope. The email is not a guarantee of transfer to London. I said ok o..make we dey see.
In May 2018, we called IRCC, and they confirmed that in deed on that day, our file was transferred to LVO.
July 2018, i sent LVO an email, asking for an update on my application, their response was i was in a queue waiting review.
Sept 4 2018, exactly 6 months after AOR, i sent Ralph an email. Asking for an update. He responded that although my file was initially reviewed on 7-Aug, nothing had been started.
Chai!!!! 6 months, nothing. I wont lie, I cried.
19-Sep-18: LVO sent me 8 ADR requests. Yes, O, 8!!!!!
We compiled and submitted everything on 25 of Sept.
2 of Oct, another ADR. This time, 1 year bank statement for my salary account.
We submitted the one i generated from mobile app, including reference letter from the bank, 12 months payslip, and updated POF. (the last 3 were to be sure they had everything o).
On 5-Oct, we received RPRF request. That day, i knew it was only a matter of time. Family members were already dancing and jubilating o..Hubs and I were still waiting for PPR, before we dance sha.
12pm today, it came o....
Finally!!!!
Please help me thank God o. He has been in charge from the get go.
Did i mention that the second ADR came from Lagos office.. Yes o, Lagos immigration.
Only God knows how and when Lagos became involved in my case.
It sha ended in praise!!! Congratulations! !! Your PPR story struck an emotional string in me. I'm so happy and grateful to God it ended in praise. Also, your colllective familial patience and calmness saw you all through as a unit in one piece. Most would have lost it...with that prolonged wait and multiple ADR bullets...are you kidding me! Accept my felicitations once again. Go flourish in Canada, fulfil destiny and do God proud. |

PresVA: Hi, kindly confirm from CPA if you can use CIMA obtained through MRA to obtain CPA membership.
My colleague had wanted to use this medium but on enquiry to CPA, he was told the CIMA won't fly because of certain reasons.
please confirm before you waste your money.. even on CPA Ontario website, you'll see information about completing the whole CIMA qualification in order to be eligible (check no 2 of eligibility criteria) .
Those who converted ICAN to ACCA, then to CPA are able to do so because CPA only requires ACCA members to have completed the professional level exams which ICAN members do during conversion to ACCA... You can't convert your CIMA to CPA with all papers exempted. .
or if you have a contrary information gotten from CPA, please let me know... Thank you Thank you @PresVA, Lovely thoughts there. I'll check out the "eligibility criterium 2" again. Meanwhile, I see serious "sense" in the bold part above regarding using an "all-paper exempted" CIMA for conversion. One should enquire widely really. Issyman: Hopefully, ICAN will conclude the MRA with CPA Canada very soon. I heard this from the ICAN President himself at a forum some weeks back in Abuja where he mentioned that he just came back from Canada a few days earlier to tidy up the MRA with CPA. He also said the MRAs is at an advanced stage. He also spoke about the conclusion of MRA with ICAEW, which was circulated to members a few days later. I also read sometimes early this year where CPA Canada President or a representative( can't vividly remember) mentioned that if they conclude with ICAN, members will be granted same priveledges given to ACCA members. We pray that this happens faster than we anticipate. I personally have decided to wait and see how this pans out. Thanks for this info though I heard a similar jist too in passing, but didnt believe it...[s]as with every other "to do" checklist from our leaders and institutions[/s] If it's really true and it pans out on time, I'll probably wait too but I only hope this funny "10-year recency rule" requirement of ones ICAN exams will not be applicable in a conversion situation with CPA. It will all end in praise IJN! |
