Small thing and all rotten imaginations will skyrocket, you want us to tell you to go trying to embarrass yourself with the widow, what is even wrong as a widow? So she is sex starved? I am not saying that she may not like getting bleeped but it's wrong to think that everything involving pants and underwear are an invitation to Comit fornication as the op wants to do, BTW are we the ones who adviced you to commit the adultries and fornications that you have committed before, had it not being that you begged us not to insult you, I would have told you that this your question deserves insult, now go and purge your mind of this dirt
Little wonder why you had so many carryovers in school. You can't even comprehend. If bleeping her is my desire, I wouldn't have brought it here. I'm only asking how I can handle the situation to avoid hurting the feelings of either of us. Should I call her attention or leave the stuff to drench so that she will understand?

Romance / Please, What Is My Landlady Up To? by telkevog(m): 12:51pm On Jun 14, 2023
Please, I don't really understand the reason behind my landlady's action. She spreads her washed underwear outside as she goes out.
Meanwhile, I'm the only tenant in that compound and we've been very cordial. We've not had any issue at all. She is a widow. She has three boys and two among them are in school, while she stays with last one.
The first time this happened, I reluctantly packed her clothes together with the underwears(panties and inner tights), as well as her child's own to my room when it started raining. Since then, she has been doing it repeatedly. The last time I did morning shift, the clothes were drenched. So she jokingly said that it seems I worked morning today, and I said yes. She said no wonder their clothes were drenched, even mine.

Now, my question is; is she not worried that a young man will keep custody of her panties till she comes back from her business? Is she trying to pass a massage? Will it be wrong if I allow rain to beat the panties one day, as a way to tell her how uncomfortable I feel? Should I play along to see what is in her mind?

Please, I need your advice, no insults. I'm really bothered about it.

Education / Re: My Encounter In Court Doing Affidavit, How Did You Do Yours by telkevog(m): 5:52pm On Dec 16, 2021
Mercisharelove:
*How much did you do your affidavit?*

*FANTASTICALLY CORRUPT.*

I travelled out of my state of residence to do a transaction on behalf of a client. Things went relatively well until I needed to take out an affidavit in court as one of the final stages of the transaction.

So I walked into this court, a Federal High court, to do the affidavit. I had in mind that a day earlier , someone had told me in my office how she spent #4,000 to do an affidavit in court. I was furious . I know that only #100 of that #4,000 will go to government purse , the rest will go to some thieves who pose as government workers.

So I stepped into this court wishing that the thieves would try to play pranks on me. I file affidavit regularly in court but I have never experienced such extortion. May be it is because the court workers in my town of residence know me to be a lawyer. May be now that I am out of jurisdiction and dressed casually, the ones here will try to play a fast one on me. Just May be.

So In the court, I was directed to a certain lady. It Seems she is always the first contact person in this web of extortion. I entered the room. She asked me to sit. She was attending to someone, a captive I should say . The man was begging that he did not come with 4k, but the lady would have none of that. She asked the guy to go and come back complete. I was eavesdropping. The guy had just lost his certificate and wanted to make an affidavit to that effect. This is what is supposed to cost him N100. The guy even begged to pay N1000. But she refused. She insisted on the "full price".. In the end, the guy left to use Atm and come back. I was next in line!

I hold the belief that even if one should extort me, it should not be in court. The very thought of being extorted by a non- Lawyer in court is annoying to me. It is like a civilian slapping a Soldier in the barracks! If you must slap a soldier, must you do it in the barracks ?

So I took my turn in front of her. 'What do you want to do, sir? She asked.' Affidavit, of course, I replied. She asked what type of affidavit , bringing out a plain sheet of paper and pen, with an air of fake seriousness. She said she needed to know the type of affidavit because they will help me to type it.

At that point, I brought out a copy of the affidavit as typed by my secretary a day before I traveled. I told her that all I needed was to make the oath before a Commissioner for that purpose. Seems she was taken aback. Seems see didn't expect me to come with my affidavit already written and typed out. She excused me and left with the document. I guess she went to consult with her superiors.

She did not stay too long.

'Sir, are you a Barrister'?
'Yes, does it matter'?
'I mean a real Barrister '?
Silence.
' sir are you based here in town '?
Silence.
' Sir'?

I think she wondered if I was really a lawyer as they have not seen me in their court before . May be her superior had suggested that I just claimed to be a lawyer in the affidavit just to evade their extortion.

I told her to go straight to the point. That I still needed to travel back. I told her to show me where to pay and get the oath Commissioner's stamp. At that point, she cut a piece of paper and wrote on it. She signed a complicated signature. She made the stealing to seem official. Unlike how she handled the guy before me, she didn't say a word about the amount I was to pay. She could not speak to me about it . She wrote it down and signed and then showed me where to take it to.

So I took it to whom I was directed. The man took the piece of paper from me and studied it as if it was a graph or some complicated map . Then,as if he had suddenly deciphered a hidden code, he said out loud : 'two thousand'. I paid the two thousand Naira and waited. The man stamped on the document and wrote on it with red ink. I noticed that he did not write the amount received by the Court on behalf of government, as is the custom. He directed me back to the lady who sent me to him . He said she is the one to take me to the Commissioner for oaths .

I was irritated by the unnecessary back and forth, but I was determined to see the end of it .

After the Commissioner had put his stamp on the affidavit, I went straight back to the guy who took 2k from me and demanded a receipt. He looked lost when he saw me again.

He said they don't give receipts. I said its not possible for the federal government of Nigeria to take #2000 from me and not give any evidence of payment. He then said their receipt has finished. I told him to use his red pen and write 2000 on the affidavit. He Shrunk his shoulders, as if to say 'God forbid'.

I told him, Point blank, that he has trouble on his hands. That he should not think that I will leave without evidence of payment. That if he can not handle it he should bring in his superior. I threatened to go to the court Registrar if he continues to waste my time. It Seems the mention of the Registrar was frightening to him. He said to me 'please sit down' and stepped out, running.

He returned with a woman I presume is his unit head, a woman in her late forties by my estimation. She asked what was the problem. I told her there was no problem. That I am surprised the guy brought her. That all I want is receipt or some evidence of payment.

She said that their receipt has finished. She brought out a big book and said they enter all the payment entries made by everyone and at the end of the day, they issue one receipt!

Hear lie. One receipt to whom? She did not even seem like an intelligent thief to me. Seeing that her explanation meant nothing to me, she collected the affidavit from me and looked. The next thing I heard was :

'who typed it? Who asked you to type it?'
She said they will give me my money back and take 'their affidavit'. That I should go elsewhere and make the oath.

At this point, I lost my patience and temper. It became clear to me that I was dealing with an ignorant crook. Who told her that she had the power to stop me from doing the affidavit? Who told her that private affidavits must be typed by the Court. I mean she made it so clear with her actions that she is fantastically corrupt.

I stepped out of their office and headed to the Registrar's office. They started pleading. The guy who took the money started running helter skelter.

He took me to the office of another oga. The oga was polite. Cool office. He took the affidavit document from me and read. He screamed : 'did they not even read this thing to see that this man is a lawyer'? He stormed out and left me alone in the office.

It became clear to me that the oga was not necessarily angry at what they did. He was angry that they did it to a lawyer. He felt they were daft to do so to a lawyer. They should have done it only to other members of the public. They should have known that a lawyer is "bad market".

The oga returned with the woman and asked her to apologise for saying I should get my #2000 and go elsewhere to do the oath. She did. And I accepted the apology.

The oga thought that was all. He looked happy, as if everything has been settled. As if he had just resolved a conflict between Iraq and Kuwait. I brought him back to reality by saying that I am still waiting for receipt. You can't extort me and apologise and bid me farewell, without a refund.

At that point, he asked the lady to excuse us. As soon as the room had only Me and him, he removed the masquerade. He said :"BUT BARRISTER, YOU AND I KNOW THAT THIS THING IS HUNDRED NAIRA. How do we give receipt for 2 thousand "?

I did not bulge. I told him that it was either he gave me the receipt for 2k or I go to the court registrar.

At that point, he went out quietly without a word. I did not know if he went to get the receipt or my money. I looked through the window and saw him outside calling the staff to gather my money. It was then I knew that the loot had already been shared (it was close of work and I was the last customer). They had to send someone to call one of the staff at the gate to bring his part before entering a taxi home.

The oga soon returned to the office with my #2000 and asked for hundred Naira. I gave him #100. They wrote #100 on the affidavit with red ink and gave a receipt reflecting #100. The same receipt they said they didn't have.

I walked out of the court feeling sorry for the country. I mean this is a court of law! A place you would expect to see the strictest adherence to probity. Yet people openly engage in extortion. Government charges #100 for something, but corrupt government workers make it #4000 (I believe I was charged #2000 cos I had mine typed already).

People no longer do subtle corruption in this country. Corruption is the norm. They make you look stupid if you don't join in. Every sector is involved, not just the political class. The civil service stinks.

And someone wants me to believe that Nigeria is not fantastically corrupt. Please keep sharing until it gets to the right people. Nigeria must be saved.

May God save my country Nigeria....!!!

Copied

In a system where practically everyone is corrupt, what do you do? What's the fate of the ordinary non-lawyer Nigerian?
Op, if indeed you are a lawyer, you've just lost my respect for using such derogatory names on the laborers in the Temple of Justice. We have Assistant Chief Registrars, Court Administrator, Principal Registrars, Senior Registrars, Higher Registrars, Registrars, Senior Clerical Officers, Clerical Officers, and so on. You don't even know the right term for that thing they write on the affidavit with red pen. It is called 'assessment'. I'm not supporting corrupting though, but for coming out here to call out judicial staff with such derogatory terms, brother you're yet to be called to bar. You are just a law student. That's why you came to flex your tiny legal muscle over 2000. You only met those who don't know the job Sha. If you meet my kind of person, I will just give you a bank teller and send you to the bank to pay in that your one hundred naira into Government Revenue Account and bring back the copy before I assess your affidavit since your intelligence did not tell you that someone will pay transport to pay in that money. You no see those corrupt politicians wey de chop the country dry go flex muscle with them, na affidavit you de do gra gra. By the way, which state still de collect 100 for oath fee? In my state, we have approved, customized letter headed paper for affidavit. Then government-approved seal and oath fee of 500 naira. Abeg, go and sit down!

Crime / 84-year Old Widow And Children Rendered Homeless By Brother-in- Law by telkevog(m): 2:29pm On Sep 03, 2021
Widow and children rendered homeless as 84-year-old brother-in-law takes over house in Owerri, Imo State

An 84-year-old man, Maxwell Akuwuodor, has allegedly rendered a widow, Mrs Rosena Akuwuodor, and her four children homeless.

The scene of the incident at Umuokoji Umuorii Uratta in the Owerri North Local Government Area of Imo State on Wednesday, saw the woman and her children crying.

The widow alleged that her brother-in-law came with thugs and some men in uniform on Tuesday to evict them from the house.

The 49-year-old woman told our correspondent that her husband, Reginald Akuwuodor, died on September 9, 2020, and was buried on November 20, 2020.

Rosena, who spoke amid tears, said her brother-in-law threw her belongings out of the house with the help of the thugs and locked the gate.

She said, “My husband’s only surviving brother, Maxwell Akuwuodor, evicted me and my four children from my husband’s house on Tuesday. He threw out our loads and locked the house. This was a house built by my husband. He said he had obtained judgment against my husband, which is not true.

“As I speak with you, I am homeless. We have not eaten since yesterday. We have no place to go. We have neither taken our bath nor changed our clothes. The world should come to my rescue. I am a poor widow with three girls and a boy.

“He threw away everything that belongs to us inside a house built by my husband, including the credentials of my children. The house is a five-bedroom bungalow.”

Her brother-in-law, Maxwell, told our correspondent in a telephone conversation that the eviction was carried out by staff of the Owerri High Court.

He explained that he got a judgment against the widow’s husband on a matter of rightful ownership of the ancestral land.

But counsel for the widow, Uche Ubochi, said the court ruling was wrongly executed.

Ubochi said the court didn’t say that the widow and her children should be evicted from her husband’s house.

He noted that the judgment permitted Maxwell to take over another house said to have been built by his father (widow’s father-in-law).

The lawyer said he would file a motion in court against the court bailiff for wrongful execution.

Religion / Will Terrorism Ever End? by telkevog(m): 4:39am On Aug 28, 2021
In the wake of a terrorist attack, you may naturally ask yourself: ‘Does God care? Why do these things happen? Will terrorism * ever end? How can I live with the fear I feel?’ The Bible provides satisfying answers to these questions.

How does God feel about terrorism?
God hates violence and terrorism. (Psalm 11:5; Proverbs 6:16, 17) And Jesus, God’s representative, rebuked his disciples when they resorted to violence. (Matthew 26:50-52) Although some claim to commit violent attacks in God’s name, he does not authorize their actions. In fact, he does not even listen to their prayers.—Isaiah 1:15.

God cares about all those who suffer, including those affected by terrorist attacks. (Psalm 31:7; 1 Peter 5:7) The Bible also indicates that God will act to bring an end to violence.—Isaiah 60:18.

The root cause of terrorism
The Bible reveals the underlying reason for terrorism: “Man has dominated man to his harm.” (Ecclesiastes 8:9) Throughout history, people with power have used terror tactics to oppress others. In response to oppression, others have used terrorism to fight back.—Ecclesiastes 7:7.

The end of terrorism
God promises to eliminate fear and violence and to establish peace on earth. (Isaiah 32:18; Micah 4:3, 4) He will:

Remove the root cause of terrorism. God will replace human domination with his worldwide government. The Ruler of this government, Jesus Christ, will treat everyone fairly, and he will eliminate oppression and violence. (Psalm 72:2, 14) At that time, no one will resort to terrorism. People “will find exquisite delight in the abundance of peace.”—Psalm 37:10, 11.

Undo all the effects of terrorism. God will heal people of the effects of terrorism, whether physical harm or emotional trauma. (Isaiah 65:17; Revelation 21:3, 4) He even promises to resurrect the dead, bringing them back to life on a peaceful earth.—John 5:28, 29.

The Bible offers us good reasons to believe that God will act soon. However, you may wonder, ‘Why hasn’t God ended terrorism already?’ To find the answer, watch the video Why Does God Allow Suffering? Visit jw.org

Crime / Police DPO To Pay N4 Million To Combine's Husband, By Court Order by telkevog(m): 8:52am On Aug 17, 2021
A Chief Superintendent of Police, CSP Celestine Umeh, the Nigeria Police Force, and the Akwa Ibom State Commissioner of Police have been ordered by the Akwa Ibom State High Court sitting in Uyo to pay the sum of N4 million as compensation to a businessman, Clement Asuquo Etim.

Etim was arrested, detained, and tortured for three days after he caught Umeh in the night in his matrimonial home at Aba Ukpo Estate in Uyo.

In a 46-page court document filed in May 2020, Etim stated that Umeh, who is now the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of Itu Division in Akwa Ibom State, violated his fundamental right to private and family life guaranteed by Section 37 of the Nigerian Constitution when he intruded into his matrimonial home in his absence at Aba Ukpo Estate in Uyo to be with his wife, Mrs. Laurentia Asuquo Etim.

Crime / Man Murders Wife's Lover On Matrimonial Bed by telkevog(m): 7:42am On Aug 17, 2021
A 32-year-old businessman, Ezekiel Igbokwe, has been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly killing his wife’s lover, Victor Olatundun.

Igbokwe was said to have killed Olatundun after he caught him having sex with his wife at their matrimonial home.

The suspect allegedly committed the offence at about 12am at Peace Lodge on Itura Street, Awa Ijebu, Ijebu-North Local Government Area of Ogun State.

The suspect, who committed the crime on Wednesday, July 27, was arrested by the police the following day.

Igbokwe and his 28-year-old wife were among the 23 suspects paraded at the Ogun State Police Command headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta, on Thursday, for various offences ranging from murder to illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.

Igbokwe, who said he was a businessman, explained that he had returned from his trip to Onitsha and met Victor on top of his wife on their matrimonial bed.

He said he picked a machete in the toilet and cut the victim in the neck and hand.
Olatundun reportedly died on the way to the hospital.
Igbokwe, who deals in electronics, said he was born in Ago Iwoye, Ogun State.

He said, “I travelled to Onitsha on July 25, and when I came back on July 27, I met a man inside my room making love to my wife. Then we started fighting. The man was stronger than me. When I saw he could overpower me, I got a cutlass in my toilet and dealt him blows in the hand and neck. On the way to the hospital, the fuel in the car finished and he died.”
Igbokwe said he committed the crime due to anger, adding that he never meant to kill the victim.
He claimed that he had never met Olatundun before, saying he also never suspected that his wife was having an extra-marital affair with anyone.

PUNCH Metro learnt that Igbokwe and his wife, Juliet, have three children aged nine, seven and five.
Juliet, who sobbed intermittently, said her alleged lover had been pressurising her for a relationship for some time.

She explained that she had always told him she was married, but the victim never gave up until he ended up at their matrimonial home on that night.

Juliet, who said she sold snuff, said Victor was her supplier and he pestered her for six months before she finally gave in.
She said she suspected that the deceased used a charm on her, as she could not explain how it all happened.
She said, “He had been disturbing me that he wanted to marry me, but I said I was married.

“On the day of the incident, I really can’t say if he used a charm on me. All I know is that he called me that he wanted to see me and I told him not to come; he knew my house and when he came, I didn’t know what happened.

“He used to come and deliver snuff to me in the house. On the day of the incident, he told me he was coming from somewhere and that it was already late. He wanted to sleep in our place till the next day. He didn’t know that my husband was away. He tried to sleep with me, but later he didn’t.”

Juliet, who claimed that she got married to her husband in 2005, said the husband did not take good care of her and the children.
She said their marriage had been turbulent and fraught with fights and quarrels. The mother of three said each time there was a fight, her husband would leave the house for months. Punch
