danielak1: Good morning my people, please does anyone know the average time it takes to get one’s passport back after filling withdrawal form? It’s been five days already and I’ve been given another visa which requires my passport The unfortunate thing here is that even if there's any tkmeline given for that on their website, they seems not to be obeying their own timelines again. You can only hope and pray you get attended to asap. It all seems as though "there's no more cause for control because everything is under alarm" |

ponmbe: Sincerely, i really dont know the reason for long delays after decision has been made. I applied for skilled worker visa, had my biometrics on 13th july, iv made a paid call and numerous paid mails. i was told a decision was made as far back as 20th July, what is now causing all this delays??
I was told to wait 10 working days for VAC to send collection mail, i did and didnt receive anything, i then called and i was told my application has now been escalated. Do escalation really work or its just a placebo because im just so confused right now. Escalation appeared to just be a word they use randomly to assuage applicants. I want to believe there's really no co-ordination between those at the call / mail centre and those at the DMC. The usuall Escalation Notice given by those at the call/mail center is just a numbo jumbo. There's a form of total incompetence and lack of adequate record keeping and updating going on between TLS and UKVI at the moment. We keep praying and keep hoping. |

kod161: This is ridiculous! Please have you gotten your passport now? You shouldn’t wait for your passport m. I guess something has happened to those that apply at that time that they are not saying because I don’t know how renewal visa is taking 3 months to be issued. They are not being honest and they are not disclosing what has happened: it’s unfair. Would have had my thought along the same line but it's not encouraging to those of us in the same shoe, gladly, hearing people who had waited that long like May 14th saying they've finally collected their passport raises hope that in the next couple of days all those who had been waiting for so long would be finally attended to. There's hope on the horizon |

Mrvalent: Please how long does standard Visitor's VISA take these days. I'm planning to leave exactly 8 weeks between my biometric and my exam date in November. Please...Will this be enough out in this period?
How many weeks is the earliest in this period for first time applicant? It appears to be taking 8 weeks now, those who had waited for like 6 weeks and contacted the centre were asked to wait until after the 8th week, however, you can't take this to the bank some have had theirs attended to in less than 6 weeks, while some are still waiting after like 8,9,10 weeks. |

How can you hold my passport for almost two months? Like I have nothing else to do with it! I wished there's is another channel to report this gross anomaly. It's really an abuse of our rights. Just try and update here, how it pans out. A total abuse I must say. |

Babodun090: Goodday house.
I did my biometric on May 18, no collection email nothing nothing.
First timer, Vistor visa, Family application.... me, my wife and my 5 years old daughter.
Today makes it exactly 12 weeks of waiting.
Please nairalander I'm tired of waiting what can I do?
Never send a paid email before nor track my application. There's obviously an unexplained "glitch" in applications submitted in May/ early June. While some after a prolonged wait had received their response others are still waitinv on the line. I'll advise you send a paid mail, because that's when they'll probably start counting your 21days or 15 business days. So the the earlier you do that the better, however, not a rule but seems to have been the pattern a observed lately. All the best |

kod161: Now this is annoying.. did biometrics in VI on the 24th of May. Sent to DMC the second day and till date it is still awaiting decision. Sent several paid mails. It’s more than 55 working days now and Last mail from them said it’s been escalated to relevant department and need to wait for another 15 business days. This is really pathetic… renewal visa taking three months I feel your pain, I did 30th May. And it's been like the longest wait ever. Whatever, might have been the cause of the delay it's only fair that they urgently address it, already like 9 days into their 15days escalation wait again. it has really not been funny waiting all these while. |

RhylanTraveller: Hello everyone, I'd really appreciate some help/advice. I've been given admission for a Master's programme in the UK that begins on the 19th of September and the deadline for me to be present is the 14th of October. Due to some delays, I am only now trying to book for the Biometrics at TLS Contact, VI. The appointment dates there, at this moment, show the 26th of August as earliest date available, and I'm worried I will miss my window to resume if I have the biometrics on that date.
My questions are: 1.} Are my fears unfounded? Will I be able to make it within the time frame? 2.} Is it possible for me to book for a date but go to have the biometrics at an earlier date? Would that work? 3.} If I wait a bit before booking, would earlier time/date slots open up, or am I wasting precious time already?
I sincerely appreciate any responses. Your fears are not totally unfounded, you however, still stands a chance of meeting up provided you've already have your maintenance fund running and it's already or almost 28days, hoping you've done your tuberculosis test as well. Kindly book your biometrics if the conditions above had been met. You can try a walk in after booking there's no harm in trying, you could as well keep checking their portal after booking, you might be lucky to get a closer date. The choice is yours, wish you all the best. |

Some people even didn't provide as much documents as you did and got the visa while some who had 30 million etc in their account got refused. Just for next time when you re-apply, they would want you to address those concerns for the refusal. Absolutely, he's provided most of the essentials, however one thing I found unexplained is the fact that most of the places he planned to visit are located in London, while according to Ethe VO, he planned staying in Liverpool. I guess that missing link really gave him out, the VO went further to mention that he never took time to study where he was visiting. Overall, he gave a very good account of himself but just for that little slight. |

bigtt76: Hmmmm ...from the screenshot, I see them mentioning that because they didn't send the decision to VAC, the visa was re-issued - my thoughts though, I find this funny though because not sending a decision to VAC shouldn't be a reason for a re-issue if no mistake in the name or any other details on the visa was reported. If visa was issued in May but was not sent to VAC, then they should've just notified VAC and off they go.
Let me ask, do you have two visas on your passport? The one issued in May and the re-issued one? It may appear that the message whoever replied you intended, was not properly conveyed. My take on this is that it takes logic to understand the issue involved. What I have been able to deduce ( I stand to be corrected) is that the printing of Visa stamp is done at the VAC, once a decision has been made by DMC regarding each application and communicated, so in these instance the May decision wasn't communicated due to administrative lapse, it wasn't stamped with a visa until when it was finally communicated in July. The issue of having 2 visa stamps on the passport does not arise. |

We are in almost the same mode I only sent them mail at the 9th week and got a similar response to wait until after 15 working days. We keep waiting, keep praying and praising God. Even though it tarries it shall surely come. drmayor95: I did my biometrics on the 2nd of June at V.I
Sent a paid email last week Wednesday and was told my application is being considered and is awaiting a decision and would only be escalated after 8weeks
Sent another message yesterday( at exactly 8 weeks) and my application was escalated. I was told that I shouldn’t send another message until after 15 working days.
Has anyone been in this kind of similar situation? Does a decision gets made within the 15 days?

Even the British High commission wrote to my school over here that visa application is now taking an average of 5weeks to process, pls dont come nd quote me again if u don't know what to write We all should be open to being corected, all what you said are correct, but not absolute because UKVi are constantly updating information on their website. Someone once mentioned here that sending a paid mail more or less put more pressure on the UKVI towards an expedited action on your application and that quite agrees with what I thought from reading from others here, though some here believed it's a waste of resources
My application is in it's 9th week and I decided to send a paid mail yesterday, I got a response few minutes ago that my application is yet to be decided with a request for me to forward some listed details for escalation, I wished I had sent the mail after 6 weeks of waiting. |

You both are getting this thing wrong, granted we've been told about long delays due to the Ukrainian crisis, but it becomes extremely worrisome when you begin to read about someone in the same visa category with you and who submitted almost 3 - 4 weeks after your own submission receiving collection mails while you're still waiting That exactly is where is the worries lie. kod161: I think we all need to be patient. Yes we paid for the service, but they have responded that request are high which is unusual and we all know the reason. I understand that it is really causing anxiety to some people. Best thing is to await their feedback. Today makes it exactly 2months (since May 24) that my mum did biometrics and application is being considered, decision he not even been made. She has valid US, Canadian and other countries visa and she has been in the UK within the last 10 years. Yet she is experiencing this. But what can we do, just be patient and be hopeful. Thanks. |

I initially tried not to contribute to this debate but with the arrogance in complete ignorance displayed by this person. I'm forced to comment before he/she will go and mislead innocent souls. Doubt if such a person would even be lifted from Nigeria because the airlines that lift such a person with visiting visa without a return ticket is liable to a fine. Visitors should beware, allow the guy to dance naked in the market square by him/herself but don't get yourself misinformed. leef2022: NO it isn't must. It is at the discretion of the border officer to ask for proof of whatever and in-line with the UK home office policy and that 6 out of 10 visitors get asked that don't mean it is a must thing to travel with.
However, to process a PTA in Nigeria it is a must perquisite. at least as of the time of this post.
Though I should state here, the onus is on the visitor to show that he/she would leave the UK and her borders, at most within 180days on a visiting visa, i.e with/out a valid return ticket just as was demonstrated in the visa application process. |

On the contrary it is not advisory, it is a rule. First time visitors can only apply for a 6 months visa. Thank you ekpotek: There is no written condition. It is advisory. Rarely, will an embassy approved a long duration visitor visa for a first timer. Even if she is approved, they will give her 6 months regardless of applying for 2 years. She going there for visit her son, not for tourism or business. |
