PoliticsRe: Niger Delta Avengers: Exxon Shuts Down Oil Operations by tempest01(m): 6:01pm On May 13, 2016
persius555:
Some re-education. Individuals dont own these oil wells.
Individuals and stake holders in the oil and gas industries own the OMLs. FYI, there are OMLs in the ND that are owned by companies floated by Urhobos, Itsekiris indegenes (this i know of with inside info (no need going into details). Instead of applauding the approach of this group, we should encourage wealthy indegenes of ND to equally bid these OMLs or at least run JVs with the present owners.

With the downturn in the value of crude oil in the international market, it will be cheaper to operate joint ownerships.
Wanton destruction of properties and investments in any form should be wholly condemned. There are a thousand and better way that the issue can resolved than resulting to violence.
I don't need your education...it doesn't matter who owns these blocs as I have said, government should only get tenders from iocs not individuals owning oil blocs and subletting it...

I am against destruction of assets, I am also against injustice.
PoliticsRe: Niger Delta Avengers: Exxon Shuts Down Oil Operations by tempest01(m): 4:14pm On May 13, 2016
TonyeBarcanista:
When our ppl start losing their jobs and coys relocate to Lagos, I hope people celebrating those misguided NDA won't complain?
Tonye the fight is for oil...oil in your backyard...you think if there was no oil the coys will be there in the first place?

There's no need trying to score points. The points will take you no where.

If they relocate, the oil will still be in the ground..assets for future generation....can you compare it to the gains now?

To solve the issue of militancy, the government should take steps to solve issues in the ND. Firstly, nobody should own oil blocs...it should strictly be operating companies.

It's simple...you've been used and dumped by these politicians...as always.
PoliticsRe: We Won’t Stop Pipeline Bombing - Niger-Delta Militants by tempest01(m): 2:16pm On May 11, 2016
Lol...all these posters on top with their tongue in cheek concern for the niger deltan environment....

It's simple, this is a region that feeds the nation...you don't expect the FG to mismanage the country, create unemployed youths everywhere and still take resource from them. There will be rebellion....the DG should engage the youths of the niger delta and Nigeria on the whole. They should show more empathy at least....they have raised a point about the amnesty coordinator, that should be a step to show seriousness...

Until the FG can effectively create employment, secure our borders, provide light and other amenities....not just selling crude and sharing the money in Abuja, I'm afraid militancy will be part and parcel of the day.

All you guys showing fake concern for the ND region, if you were in the creek area suffering, with all the money being extracted from your backyard, would you still say same?

I am against militancy and I am also against injustice....the earlier the stake holders find a genuine approach to solve this, the better. Dishing out money to ex militants is not the optimum solution....the government should simply do it's job...and the militants should give the new government time to balance, see their resolve, before agitation.
PoliticsRe: Soldiers Kill Niger-Delta Militants In Foropa, Bayelsa by tempest01(m): 9:50am On May 11, 2016
news is all propaganda....militants attached your base, you know the number of soldiers killed, but you don't know the number of militants killed at your base..did they go with the dead bodies of their colleagues?

If yes, then you cowards fled from battle.

PoliticsRe: Kachikwu: FG To Privatise Refineries In 12 Months by tempest01(m): 9:03am On May 10, 2016
Joint ventures work well in nigeria in oil mining because the government is more of a regulator with business interests.....I think that is what we need in our government owned companies...PHCN shouldn't have been fully privatized.

A 60:40 with government regulations would do the work.

so it is the gas pipeline they wont blow up?
PoliticsRe: Construction Of 700MW Zungeru Power Plant Resumes by tempest01(m): 10:30pm On May 07, 2016
Why site gas plants in kogi when you have to transport gas from the Niger Delta and still evacuate the power to the National Grid?

Why not site Many gas power plants in Akwaibom and other SS states, then put facilities in place to evacuate this. The pipelines to be monitored are now shorter and the raw material is readily available.
Jokes EtcRe: Niger Delta Avengers Are Criminals Serving Their Masters Interests - Ex-militant by tempest01(m): 6:27pm On May 07, 2016
This one go dey chop better money....

When amnesty end, him tune go change.

This amnesty sef, they should have given a time frame for it...It should have been a human and capital development initiative instead of dishing money to criminals. As it is, ending the amnesty program is akin to the return of militancy.

Paying a certain people without addressing problems that led to the crisis, you are breeding a newer generation of militants.

I rue for our government with no initiatives...Even with the 13% derivation fund.

I am a Niger Deltan who doesnt believe in violence, but i see no gains at all....no jobs, no prospect. Even with the education and all. But billions are budgeted yearly for ex-militants, NDDC has always been an avenue to steal money and self service. Even to get scholarship for school was not feasible.

I am hopeful of a better future though.

The ones that were caught red-handed, were they charged to court?
military and police are arguing about their whereabout - institutions that should be detribalized.

When pmb was making statements about treating them like BH, he didn't know that pipelines go kilometers into the creek, and it is not possible to catch these bad elements on a platter.

He should go to the creeks and fish out these elements....while making sure no innocent is caught up as there is bad blood already.
