olawalemanog: For God's sake what type of morons are our universities turning out? We turn out grsduates that cannot connect history. For God's sake who first killed the BH leader in cold blood? All you fools kept quiet and never bothered to do as little as discuss it simply because you think it is the problem of the North. The same thing happened in Plateau state when our womderful press covered only one side of the story and never cared abt what happened to the other side whose people were also being murdered in cold blood until the whole thing went haywire. You may like what is happening, you may like the temporary peace that will come out of this exercise; you may not care what happens to the Hausa-fulanis (afterall they are muslims) but i bet you, this injustice may signal an end to the rxistence of this country. Meanehile, there is supposed to be a plan for amnesty for which a committee has been constituted; what is bothering us is how this committee is going to function in the face of all these bombardments by the military. We should not forget that just recently, the military shut down a section of Platrau state looking for armed Fulani herdsmen: has there been any change? Let us learn from what transpired bw the Beroms and the Fulanis, who, after fighting for so long with each side suffering severe casualties, finally agreed to dialogue and give peace a chance. The area is relatively calm today. We must pursue amnesty for these guys, not only to who they are and why they have taken up arms agaist the state, but also to use it as an opportunity to apologise for our wrong. However, those who suffered losses as a result of this avoidable insurgency must be properly and adequately compensated. This is the only way we can learn from the ills of the past which will serve as catalyst for dealing with similar cases of injustice like the Odi and Zaki Biam massacres. Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria.as a yoruba muslim you are, you av allowed the teachings and reasonings of your arab masters to take over your judgements. are you painting bh as the innocent ones in this picture? Let me tell you that the innocents are your BROTHERS which bh have cowardly killed and miamed just to get a message to the govt...change your clouded mentality from that of an islamic extremist to a patriotic citizen of this country. |
this transfer window will be exciting sha |

The panel should also consist of foreign experts with the know how in power generation and transmission. Even if it is to get engineers from south africa or brazil |
supaeagles: Imagine if the same scenario was played out in the human body: To attain good health you shut down all systems (including 'waste management') and just focus on eating healthy. I doubt if that human would survive more than a week.I get ur point, maybe shutting down will be extreme, but a state of emergency should be declared in that sector, and it should be the MAIN focus for a carefully estimated minimal tym. Experts should be brought in to make a feasible report which will carter for the now and for the long term expansion. |
i think we should shut down all other aspects of this country and focus on power with a one year plan. all old and morbid facilities should be brought down, and new plants raised up from the scratch with modern standards. National grid should be decentralised and gas, coal (and other available resources) plants should be used for the south while Hydro, solar etc for north. |

That said, your point on the importance of reliable power supply is very valid. Power generation/supply is a critical public infrastructure that is required in our nation in order to sustain and aid our economic growth and the livelihood of people. It can be one of the major milestone achievements of the current administration if they are successful. Kudos to their efforts so far but they will only be judged based on results and not on press releases!
