Zeiya: Congrats oh!!
We are waiting for your landing gist please. At least for us still in naija AmeComplique Hmm....okay, Landing gist. Came into Canada from Australia. Had till 20th November to make my landing even though I got COPR ending October, because my Medicals was done same time last year. Was expecting stringent checks and all, but the only real check I experienced was at Sydney Airport. I was the only black guy around, I was made to go through secondary checks, then told to take off my shoes ( the only person to) and go through the checks again. ( in my mind was, anything to get to the permanent site, I am ready). Did a self check-in at the terminals in the Air Canada stand, and went for weigh-in of my luggages. Was told will get them at destination. Straight flight to Vancouver, like 15 hours or there about. Smooth flight, though I remember saying some little prayers with little turbulence every now and then as there was this feeling of the plane being overcome by it. In Vancouver a lady at the door told me to go take my luggage and continue. As I was already told I would get my luggage at arrival, I asked her if she was sure I need to. She then asked where I traveled from, I told her Australia, she then said no need, I should go ahead, I'll get in at destination ( in my mind I was like, better country good oh, I then imagined what I would have gone through with the heavy boxes if otherwise). Joined the queue to immigration, was then redirected into another area for PR and students. Got briefed by an Indian lady, then to immigration for stamping of my COPR and passport. Smooth process. Met an Australian here and we got chatty...Fine soul. Then went through the scans to catch my connecting flight to Calgary. Quick process. Was in Calgary in no time, went to claim my baggage, met up with the Australian again also claiming her baggage and snow board, my brother came tho pick me up, offered her a lift to her Airbnb, she came to work and holiday in Canada, hoping to go for Snow boarding lessons someday, The posts here had made me panic, as I felt I was to under dressed to deal with the cold. Told my brother to bring winter jacket for me. But I didn't really need to use it. It was cold, but to a level I am used to (if coming from 9ja still get your warm clothing oh). I'm still going to get my winter clothing for the freezing temperatures. Went straight up from airport to get my documents done, got a sim (Fido), health insurance (was told to come back when I have proof of address), Social number ( met a very nice Asian guy, who was just trying to be sweet, told me happy birthday, even though it was like 2 weeks ago, and I think he told me welcome to Canada like three times, seeing I just landed). Tried asking about drivers license as my license expired on my birthday while in Australia I have been, was told they just need the license even expired to proof that I have been driving, then I'll take the lessons and issued (something like that). Also opened a bank account with Cibc after gong to different banks, and being told to set up appointment. That's my Landing story, still jet lagged, so no much done yet. |

This reportage is shallow, to be very economical with harsh words @nigeriapenbase.
This Captain has been injured and was left in deteriorating condition. Several Nigerians on twitter had to post his pictures and beg the NA to fly him abroad for treatment. This statement from the NA was the response to his case. |

Politics › Re: FG Rejects Governors’ N22,500 Minimum Wage Proposal by tempest01(m): 7:20pm On Oct 31, 2018 |
daddytime: Most times when I come online and see the "sai babarisms and atikulatings" from the so-called youths and assumed leaders of tomorrow I just shake my head in repulse and I'm forced to believe there won't be any redemption from the present quagmire any time soon.
We go clapping for and insulting each other over people who care less about the present conditions because it obviously favours them and their wards, and have precariously positioned their offspring to take over from where ever they'd be hanging their boots from.
Perhaps Y'all will continue sai babaing and atikulating their children as well after their fathers have successfully ruled over your fathers and eaten into your time and future before passing on the baton to their wards to finish off that which they had started.
Whoever thinks these our present crop of leaders will visit the constitution as it is presently for a tweak must be joking. This is so because it was deliberately arranged that way to favour them at the corridors of power.
The youths of this country have got to rise up and quit being lame-sitting ducks and internet warriors. Let's come together, collapse whatever mushroom youth associations all around the country into one firm and solid movement that can give these guys a good run for their money and make them realise we are truly prepared to take over governance. When they say the youths aren't prepared, it isn't just a mere say, it is indeed a fact judging from how so beat-down and docile they have rendered us technically and otherwise. They know what they have done to us and our morale but its time we took the bull by the horns.
In my opinion, we should let them have this election seeing how we aren't in the mix by any stretch, but we can begin to prepare from now and the next four years to take over with no negotiations.
The next four years is enough for us to get under a solid youth body comprising of youths from every region, religion, social class, etc and set up a mock constitution review panel. This panel should study the present constitution to strip it of every and all the rubbish contents imputed to benefit and protect the enemies of the state. Every clause relating to immunity, security votes etc should be expunged from the constitution. The humongous allowances for NA members would be cut down to the barest and true separation of powers entrenched in our new constitution. The judiciary would be looked into as well to correct all the anomalies that have rendered our justice system to favour the highest bidders and find ways to expedite dispatch of judicial matters.
Our military and paramilitary would be looked into as well to position them for their profession and not a willing tool for the political class to suppress and oppress the opposition.
Strip the rubbish called constitution a draft a new one we shall all agree on to control whatever is left of our future with and have a country to bequeath to our children while they continue improving on the constitution to suit their times as generations proceed.
If we can do this, trust me we would have an idea on the direction we intend going with a new Nigeria and also have a campaign manifesto for the next election. You can imagine being able to galvanize a good number of youths from now until the next election in four years time who can contribute a minimum of 1000# to a potential war chest to match these thieves on the campaign trail.
We can do it if we are willing we just need to quit with allowing ourselves get distracted by the same old wines in fresh bottles. It's the same old same.
The matter dey tire person abeg. This has always been in my mind. Herein lies the only solution to our problems. The earlier the better. |

iammo: It's going down, but what the workers should really fight for is cutting of cost of governance especially politicians jumbo pay and force government to find a way to reduce price of commodity and inflation rate.
When buhari jacked up fuel price to N145per liters, NLC kept quite and were even sai baba-ing thinking he would fulfil the salary increase promise, there by leaving the masses hanging but alas they got played
Soon all our national income from crude oil sales, loan/ bonds and tax would only be used to pay politicians and civil servants the remaining balance would goto debt servicing
Increasing minimum wage will force them to reduce cost of governance |

But I really don't wasn't APC to win presidential and Governorship in Akwa Ibom. Akpabio is on an annang supremacy mission, and Uyo and Eket should stop him for posterity sake. |
