Hello House, Please, I want to find out if you can still do 2- way courier service with DHL after the passport request to CVAC in Lagos. OR You will have to do 1-way DHL and pay for VFS Logistics to return your passport to you. But, I will prefer DHL for both sending and returning. Anyone with this experience should share and advise. I really appreciate anyone that can provide. |
Thanks a lot poultryprocesie: |

Thanks a lot and appreciated Emmafe: |
Hello Guru in this house, I applied for TRV under spouse sponsorship while waiting for my PR which is under processing. I have a PR application under processing which is under spouse sponsorship. As per the new rule for the current policy for spouse sponsorship, my application should be processed within 30 days. I applied on June 3rd through the online platform and my Biometrics - Completed, Eligibility - Completed and Background check - In Progress and Medical - Not Started (Though, this is not required). I am in Nigeria and my wife and kids are in Canada. I wanted to be in Canada by early July for my kid's birthday and my wife who is in Canada wanted to send mail to the high commission of Canada in Nigeria or the Canadian immigration authority. Since we don't know the office handling the application. Please, can anyone in the house suggest where to send the mail or offices to send the mail to? I mean the e-mail addresses to send the mail to and if we have to webform, can anyone suggest the actual webform to use in this case? |
GraysonDJ:Please, tell her to go to the TLS office for her passport and only then she will know the outcome. |
Teslas:On this, the Visa was granted. |
fumisko:Please can you share the new link |
CanDaddy:Can you please share the link for the new portal and a bit instructions on how to go about it. |
Dear Guru in the house, Please, I submitted an application in August on behalf of my sister, I didn't send a paid mail and didn't do anything but wait. So, I received a message from TLS now that the document and passport are ready for collection. I have read in the thread that some people receive refusal mail. My question is does it mean that the visa has been granted as there was no refusal mail? Does that proof automatic that the visa has been granted? Thanks in advance |
Yampotatocarrot:This is a bit correct but the prices are more than that now. 1. Going from Mile 2 to Seme Border is #4000. You can walk down if you have a passport and pass through the immigration. Nigeria's side is the worst and the only corrupt in my own experience because you will see like 10 immigration and custom officials at the gate and they want to check your passport so that they can take money from you even if your passport. 2. But don't walk down if you don't have a passport because nobody will take #200 or #1000 from you. In fact, if they see that they don't know your face, they will want to crucify you on the Nigerian side and will be treating you like you are a criminal as if you want to smuggle something in. It is better to take the bike and give those guys #3000 to save yourself from Nigeria immigration and customs harassment and embarrassment. 3. By the time, you get to the passport section then you will see another set of Nigerian immigration and customs with DSS and all looking at the way of taking money from you. 3. At the health official, you can give them #200 but they have started looking into #500 too. But if you are using your passport it is easier to get the yellow card and the price is #2000. I will advise you to go and get the card if you are planning trip to Benin Republic. 4. On the Benin Replublic side, you have no worries because they are calm and you will see just one or two officials. If they want any thing, they will ask you calmly and you will love to give them, because they are more than calm in my own opinion. They are very professional because they are only doing their work but not after your money. Generally, in my own opinion, i hate that route (Worst) and to me, all the immigration and police officers from Agbara, they are all criminal themselves but i heard the idi-iroko route is better so if you are going to Benin Republic without passport, I will advise you to pass through the Idi-iroko route. |
AreaNews:Hello, I am new on this thread but please can you share information on how to go about the above. Please share your mail so that i can hit u up. Thanks. |
Nashirushekoni:I sight u, Omo ibile |
AmeliaT:So sorry to hear about the refusal Sus4. Please take the good points from cutebear and Amelia T. 1. In addition to what had been said by both, the CAC is not active because you have not filed your Annual Return. It is compulsory for every registered business to file their annual returns with the Corporate Affairs Commission not later than 30th of June every year. This is the only way to let the Commission know that your company is still operating. Note: This is valid for a year so it must be done yearly. 2. They had been using the website since but they don't use it as criteria in the past until when the government is making too much awareness on tax and tax on the company too. If you open an account in the company name, please pay tax too and include it in your next application. 3. If you want to use the company letterhead, please use the letterhead printed from the printing press to make it genuine because if you use computer generated letterhead, they usually check the letterhead by pouring water or fluid on the letter to see if it will watch away or not. What this means is that it will not watch away if it is printed from the printing press but watch away when it is computer printed. 4. If to open a website is too much for you in terms of cost, social media footprints are okay and accepted in most embassy such as Whatapps, Instagram, Facebook etc. I stand to be corrected in all the points above for all to learn in the group. |
Nchabuomo:Thanks for your reply. Points taken already and thanks. |
Nchabuomo:Good info here. Please advise needed from anyone in the house. If there is any experience, please share. Please does this mean you can apply to the US Embassy in London or Belfast to get an appointment date and travel to the UK around that time for the interview? Also, does this mean you can also apply through the drop box in the UK with a Visitor Visa. Please, do you also have an idea if you can apply for a US visa in any part of Schengen states with a Schehgen visa? Note: The UK visa is 10 years, and Schengen is 2 years and both are still valid. Please note: Address and every other documentations are not an issue. |
Nnemomatina:Yes, you can open a dom account while in the UK. Some Nigeria banks operate in UK like GTB and others. You can walk into their branch in the UK and open the Dom account. You can also open online but just indicate you are in diaspora and include your location then it will be done for you. |
giselle237:Hmmmm, kind of. |
evetyson:Yes, you can be given a visa depending on the ECO handling your document. I have summited an application to the UK before, which i made plenty of mistakes in my application. I was given the visa, i never and didn't discover it until when i wanted to apply again. So, do not wait on luck alone, Let get the proper documents into our application and pray for luck and God intervention along with it. |
leef2022:They are immediate family with the husband's surname, but in this case who is the sponsor, it was her sister. So in respect to the application as the sponsor, the pictures of her sister and every other of her siblings are important to the ECO than others. But if the husband is the sponsor then picture of your sister with her husband and kids is considered more. You can shed more light too. |
beautyuche:Sorry about the refusal, but point to note in my opinion, 1. The ECO has concern about your about to expired certificate. To an ECO, they always want your employee documents to be up to date and in tact so with that they can be fully sure you are still working in the company. Even if it is about to expire, and you have registered to renew the certificate, you must include it in your application. That is why the ECO pointed out that your marine certificate is not up for renewal meaning no evidence to support that. 2. I also noticed that your employment was August, 2020. This should not be a concern, but it is always good to wait for 6 months in your current employment before applying for UK Visa as they demand for 6 months statement of account. The ECO might think you created a fictitious employment just to get a UK Visa. 3. I also noted that you wrote a letter stating your purpose of your visit but the part for booking training in person is not stated in your application form. Please limit what you write in your letter and keep the purpose brief in your application form alone but if you already have a planned tour and you have an itinerary for that, so you can state that in your letter. Remember, you don't need plenty or thousand reasons to visit the UK or anywhere in the world. 4. There i nothing wrong in submitting two account statements, but let the purpose of the money in your account be clear, and if you want to put money in your account and prove that it is your then you should leave the money in your account for at least one month and keep the account running as much as you can. Also do you have two personal saving account. It is always good to submit personal account that is running and which they will see that the money is always available to you for any purpose. NOTE: it doesn't matter that you have plenty money as at the time of your submission but just to prove that you have a running account that can hold your entire traveling expenses and they are always available to you. 5. However, you have a good history with your son being an America citizen. You have gotten a UK visa in the past, and are good working history, so please look into these points of my opinion and try again. All the best. |
leef2022:Thanks for pointing out that phrase. What i meant was that her pictures with her husband and kids were not a concern but the pictures of her and her sister along with every member of their immediate family. Then, i mentioned that they can still include the pictures with her husband and kids in their next application as a tie back in Nigeria. We are trying to help... |
akin2310:Hello, Submit your personal account statement and declare how much you are getting from your business every month. You can also submit your company account along with invoce /recipts / transaction details on how mony enter the account just to prove you have a bix running but dont put your travelling on your bix acount. Reason is personal account is the fund you have access to and you can spend that but for bix, it is for bix and you cant spend it. |
EJIOGBENIMI:Yes, you will have your passport with you and you will be able to mail the decision which you must have with you all the time. Or best bet attached it to one page and fold it in your passport but the risk in this is that you must wait till you get it before you travel back and if not, there are consequences attached to it. This is because you will be able to prove it when you have the paper with you even in your next application that your extension was approved. |
leef2022:The ECO does not any concern for not working or concern about the family pictures. Let her include her marriage certificate, pictures of her family with kids and all child birth certificate and husband information as well as a certificate. It is also good to include your husband's financial status and property if there is any for them to know. Your husband can support you if need be. You can also put your husband as second sponsor with a letter of introduction and the reason for sponsor as all proof that you will be coming back to take care of your husband and kids. |
Cycloe:Good suggestions, In addition, the UK accepts a 6 months statement of account, and if her husband wants to put money it is fine. But let the money have a purpose that will be tied to you. Both or another third party can do the transfer and tie it as you are sending her to buy land or something important. If she is not buying anything, let the money has purpose and remain in her account for one month before applying and the money should be there for the entire application. Ikeja is fine and wait, is she traveling with the kids?. |
Cycloe:Hello, It is painful that your sister's visa was denied. Just my suggestions, 1. If you have a birth certificate with the same surname, include it in your next application. 2. Whatapps conversation about your family, about your mother or dad or brothers or other siblings. 3. Pictures of you and your sister in the past and now. Include all pictures with your parent and your brothers if you have any, especially where you guys are wearing the same clothes as family. pictures of family occasions. 4. You said she is receiving a stipend or salary. Include the transfer to her every month and if your are not the one sending to her directly. Let the sender specify "Montly stipend or salary from your sister (your name) in the UK", or as the case maybe. With these you have demonstrated ties together and in the country. 5. Also, if you have an elder or parent in Nigeria. You can indicate in your letter that she is the one taking care of them. 6 If she is doing any course, training or learning anything in Nigeria, include them too, and all of her school certifications with the same surname as you. 7. If you are married, include your change of name that you published or affidavit to that effect in your application. |
