SageNaruto: Wat Madara used 2 catch Hashirama was shinra tensei...
I also expect Naruto 2 seal d remaining bijuus at some point, but ryt now I'm just so fucking pissed dat Kishi is making Hashirama luk lyk a wimp!!! Lyk WTF we've seen Madara unleash hell several tyms now and 4rm d luks of tinz, Hashirama is notin compared 2 him... Kishi beta start showing us Hashirama's worth oh!!!
Untrue.
They'd been fighting for a while now, and Hashirama had Madara already defeated with his chakra being drained away before he was brought back to life by Rinne Tensei. And that was a full strength Madara vs Hashirama with chakra divided with his clone.

I'm surprised the chakra rods were able to hold Hashirama though...even Naruto broke that when Pain tried to use that on him in the paper tree. More inconsistent writing from Kishi?

Hashirama has held his own in this battle....it's how useless they've made Tobirama that I'm annoyed about. From the flashbacks, Tobirama proved to be stronger than Izuna Uchiha (who had very similar power levels to Madara) and is hinted to be in the same power range as Hashirama and Madara (weaker than both but can hold his own against them)

Tosyn007: The way the bros uselessed Hashirama is jaw-dropping and with his eyes closed...#awesome#

Knowledge is indeed power!
He had Hashirama immobilized with the chakra rods.

Basically, Hashirama is stronger than Madara. I'm pretty sure Hashirama > Madara with Rinnegan. Hashirama could even beat full strength Madara + Kyuubi.

Remember that Orochimaru's Edo Tensei ressurection of the Kages brought them back at nearly full strength, not full strength. So now it'll seem Madara may have the edge in power.
Orochimaru sama is chillin on the sidelines...or he's probably collecting DNA samples from that God tree for his experiments..that nigga can like DNA... and Kabuto kun...still feeling sorry for that dude....the nigga’s still trapped in Itachi’s Izanami....

Oh well... Lè battle continues
Both Orochimaru and Kabuto are small fry where Madara is concerned.

Tosyn007: Can anyone tell me why he didn't open his eyes? I think his human body is tryna adjust to the powers of the rinnegan.

Any which way, I love the way the story is unfolding, more uncertainties.
He doesn't have eyes. He's blind...he gave his eyes away to Pain, remember? Rinne Tensei brought him back to life without his eyes...

Education › Re: FG Shows Evidence N200bn For ASUU by texazzpete(m): 2:53pm On Dec 05, 2013
Sincere 9gerian: Just to make this final point. I have already proposed a solution to the problems in our universities. And in that solution, there is no role for ASUU, which in my opinion, is part of the problem. Unfortunately, the current fight between ASUU and govt is not part of the solution. The govt is on the wrong path and ASUU is part of the problem.

Under the current structure, injection of N200 billion or whatever billion will not yield the desired result. In fact, some of the N200 billion may actually go into funding and exacerbating the problem.

So for me, I'm not excited about either the position of govt or ASUU. The first step the govt and people of Nigeria must take if we truely want our universities to be great is re-structuring of these schools. Post-restructuring ASUU will automatically be dead as the universities will now have full autonomy. All labour disputes will be resolved locally. Govt can then provide students loans and burseries to support students who are unable to cope with school fees. Govt can still provide research grants to support these universities.

And for this to happen, we must all agree that the current structure is unworkable and that no amount pumped into it will make it work. So I'm afraid, the ongoing ASUU 5-month strike is another WASTED period in the life of our youths and until we get the structures right, we should get ready for another strike as soon as the current one is called off.
As long as this PDP FG sticks to their signed agreement (for once!), there will be no more strikes for the near and mid term.
ASUU is the best thing that has ever happened to Nigerian Universities. Without ASUU, Professors would have still been earning N150k per month. This is Nigeria; Nobody gives it to you...you have to take it!

Go and find out how much Govt pays as research grants to the Universities. A pittance. There are way more than 2 million students in our Universities...you whine and complain about Government not being able to raise money yet you are blissfully silent on where the funding for these loans and bursaries are to come from? Our tax money?

You claim the strike period is a 'wasted period'. Whose fault? Is there truly ANYTHING in the current FG offer (which looks likely to be accepted) that could not have been offered 4 months ago? Would the strike have been ended months ago if only the President and FEC cared about this troubling situation?
Yes, you claim the strike period is a 'wasted period'. Well, N200bn yearly can pump N4bn per year in each university for capital projects. 4bn can put in place several standard labs, upgrade libraries...that sum can blanket a University with Wireless internet for student research. You could set up a power plant for internal power generation with some of that money.

Increased allowances to the lecturers helps tremendously in making the terms and conditions of employment more palatable. Universities are locked in a constant battle to retain top talent for lecturing...you know how many first class graduates are sitting down behind counters in Zenith Bank et al as cashiers?

at the end of the day, the true test will be when your President can feel comfortable enough to send some of these repentant millitants to revamped schools in Nigeria for their post Amnesty training. It is still a great shame for the giant of Africa to send ex-militants to obscure places when we can put such schools of training here in Nigeria. Let him set the ball rolling by investing more in our Universities.

I know you've been given a sheet of talking points, but for once, can't you break the script and see the immense danger we're in when we fail to uplift our Universities?

Arguing with you is rather depressing.

theoctopus: Mr man. The ball is no longer in ASUU 's court. This your post has been overtaken by events. All the key schools are already pulling out. Lectures have begun in some schools. Has has not only lost this strike, they have lost their reputation and it will affect their future.
Actually, ASUU has won this round.

No matter what happens, the FG is now bound to pay in N200bn per year for the next 5 - 6 years...and the earned allowances will be paid.

Nerves are being frayed at the moment, but it's clear which side is going to be funding the other side. Reason has won finally grin

Sincere 9gerian: There is no point having further conversation on this matter with Tinubu slaves who see this strike as part of the instruments of making the country ungovernable for a president they hate so much. Channelstv has already taken a position on the ASUU strike after listening to all parties and giving all of the parties opportunities to air their view. And I think that position is fair to all parties. From all indications everyone, including Channelstv have had enough, except Tinubu slaves. Bye!
I blasted Tinubu over the Lagos Doctor Strikes, over the Lekki tollgates and over his comments about sacking Lagos doctors. I used even more vitriolic words than I use these days. I've taken Fashola to task over these same issues.
just because you have a little change in your pocket, gives you no right to insult those who complain in the only way they can.
If you don't like a topic, simply ignore it.
Thank you for mirroring my very words. If you don't like Airtel's service (including their data plans) move away from the network. It took me less than 2 hours to port from Airtel to Etisalat.

This has nothing to do with me 'having change in my pocket'. Airtel BIS was never intended for use in Android phones. People were taking advantage of an exploit that has now been closed. This backlash IS unwarranted.

That said, my OP addresses the main reason why the exploit was so vigorously pursued in the first place. People wanted cheaper Internet for their Android devices. The real conversation here is the provision of more affordable data bundles to the people who aren't exactly high income earners. That discussion is best held at the level of the NCC, or with all the carriers taken on at once (Glo, MTN , Etisalat, Airtel).

Targeting Airtel alone is unfair, unreasonable and useless.

Do you people know that if everyone here contributes a minimum of N1000, we can take out a half page ad in Guardian Newspapers to write an open letter to the NCC and all the carriers? But please, don't let me stop you from making one more thread about breaking your Airtel SIM cards cheesy
How much wey you go like buy data plan... huh

Oya price make I hear..
Airtel does N2000 per month for 500MB, for example. Since low cost Android smartphones are sweeping the market now, and these are data intensive, I'd suggest doubling this to N2000 for 750MB. It's currently N1000 for 200MB, perhaps an upgrade to 350MB?

Nigerian data plans aren't the most expensive in the world, but we DO have a significant population that aren't too well off.

Either way, this isn't an issue for me since I always go for the large data caps (Etisalat 8GB for N8k, shared between my phone and my iPad).

Sincere 9gerian: Tinubu dogs are ready to give up their life to see this strike continue because of POLITICS, nothing more. I just admire the patience of this president in tolerating all these nonsense.
You 'admire the patience of the President'?
Can someone PLEASE inform this insincere clown that this is a democracy?! The President's patience has nothing to do with anything here.
Nigerians are the ones to be commended for tolerating many of the anti-people agenda of the FG.

Sincere 9gerian: After the 13 hours meeting with the president, the president proposed to ASUU that they should have an MOU on all the areas agreed by both parties and that the MOU should be signed by both parties. But ASUU leadership refused this proposal but rather said they preferred a letter of comfort from the govt on what govt has offered so they can take the letter to their state branches.

Part of the agreement reached after the 13 hours meeting with president was that ASUU will call off the strike within one week. But over 3 weeks after, the strike has still not been called off and now the same ASUU that rejected an MOU in front of the president has now made MOU one of the reasons it has not called off the strike.
Why would ASUU call off the strike in the meeting with the President without consulting with the wider body of ASUU? You seem clueless about this system. This is not a gathering of low lifes you can tempt with a brown envelope. The people who met with the President aren't impressed by the glamour of Aso Rock. These are highly educated people we're talking about. You think a meeting with the President was enough to make them call it off there and then?

They want the MOU signed by the Attorney General of the Federation without delay. This is an easy, no-brainer solution. The last time they signed an agreement, the FG went around claiming it was not signed by a permanent secretary. The Senate President claimed the head of the FG negotiation team was not of sound mind.

In short, by casting doubts about the signatories of the 2009 negotiation, the FG brought this stubborn insistence of ASUU for ratification at the highest levels upon themselves. Even a 10 year old can see this. I know you're intelligent enough to see this, so I will conclude (not for the first time) that you have been paid sums of money to propagate this disgraceful opinions on Nairaland.

Sincere 9gerian: ASUU has failed to call off it strike within one week as they agreed with the president, but ASUU is asking the FG to pay N200 billion which the govt promised to pay this December. Notwithstanding that ASUU failed to keep its side of the agreement, FG has kept its side of paying N200 billion into an account.
It's not about paying 200bn Naira in 2013. ASUU needs the assurance that 200bn will be paid in 2014 too, and 2015, and 2016 as agreed. We need that assurance. Failure of the FG to implement this is highly suspicious.

Sincere 9gerian: 1. GEJ is the first president to sit with ASUU in a negotiation
What the heck is this shyte?! Does this deserve a cookie? Sane minds are wondering why it took him 4 months to personally intervene. He had no reason himself to sit at the meeting. There is an education minister who GEJ should have been supervising to do this work. In any sane climate, the Education minister should have been relieved of his job months ago.
Bottom line is, GEJ found more use out of the Education minister in battling Amaechi than to actually solve the ASUU strike.

Sincere 9gerian: 4. GEJ is the first president who has to release funds before a strike is called off. In the past, once an agreement is reached, labour unions call of their strike.
The funds in question are OWED allowances. Owing ASUU already is a form of Governmental theft. Does the FG require cookies for the rare occasion when they do the right thing?

Sincere 9gerian: 5. GEJ is the only president that had to make 3 different offers to ASUU and yet the strike has not been called off. The FG committee headed by governor Suswan made the first offer, that was followed by the offer by the vice president of Nigeria and then the last offer was made by the president himself.
It is called a 'negotiation'. When you are 'negotiating', you keep putting forward offers until a compromise is reached. Have the bundles of N1000 notes put in your pockets clouded your command of the English language?

For all intents and purposes, ASUU has accepted the last compromise offer by the FG. All they require is proper and bulletproof ratification and a signed and sealed pledge that the brave lecturers who have now obtained significant funding for our Universities will not be victimized for this. They should be lauded as heroes, but that is a separate discussion entirely.

Sincere 9gerian: So what are the "sins" this president that he has to be treated differently from past presidents?
I know many on Nairaland are young people, but anyone who is 30 and above here will remember that every single President we've had for well over 2 decades has had to content with ASUU strikes. Abacha, babangida, Obasanjo, Yar'Adua...I'm not sure why you're trying to revise history.
Perhaps this is a clear indication that crisp naira notes can cloud the memory?

Sincere 9gerian: His only "sin" is where he comes from, nothing more. This is very unfortunate for our country.
Can you STOP this nauseating tribal politics here?

PS: Thank God you can never accuse ME of being one of the 'Tinubu dogs' or 'APC sympathizers' as you like to babble on about. I am on record here when I've seriously lambasted the likes of Fashola and Tinubu multiple times. Unlike you, I am a patriot.

Guys, we get it. You're upset that the exploit you've used to use BIS data on your cheap Android phones is being closed by Airtel. You're upset that now, you'll have to start paying for your data bundles like the rest of the populace. Yes, data plans are not cheap.

But please, can you people STFU for once and stop this incessant whining?

The problem is not with Airtel. The problem is that the data plans we have from our carriers are rather expensive, especially on the low end. Instead of making this all about Airtel, take on ALL the carriers and take your complaints to the NCC.

FACT: Airtel Data plans are not more expensive than plans from Etisalat or MTN. Saying you'll break your Airtel line over this is just plain childish. If MTN gives you better service, why not port over with no fuss?

FACT: Complaining here on Nairaland will not change anything. If you really feel aggrieved at this situation, why not tweet at NCC Nigeria (@NgComCommission), for example, to complain about high cost of data plans.

I have zero stake in Airtel. In fact, I ported my Airtel line to Etisalat some months ago thanks to poor internet data speeds in my region. I voted with my Naira. Do the same with minimal fuss if you feel aggrieved.

Typical inept Army leadership, quick to pull the 'sabotage' card.
Truth be told, the Army was caught napping in a surprise attack. Seems the Boko Haram boys lulled them into a false sense of security. Attacks on bases aren't unheard of, even US outposts and bases in Afghanistan come under heavy attack from insurgents from time to time. what counts is the ability to repulse these raids and contain the attacks.

Instead of trading blame, let the army invest in improved training and more surveillance methods like proximity and motion sensors, Infra-red gear for night fighting and more sentries.

Bishop Magic: We all know they were selfishly following their own interest
At the very least, They've secured N200bn/yr capital projects funding for our Nigerian Universities...and not a penny of this will go to ASUU (I'm tired of explaining to you simpletons that neither the VC or Bursar are ASUU members). The allowances they asked for themselves were signed and sealed in the 2009 agreement. I see no reason for a sane and sensible person to talk about 'selfish interests'.

LMAO! Those are people fighting for their own self-fulfilment. Either monetary (like most of the ND militants) or religious (Ombatse, Boko Haram. Within the populace, there is no stomach for any struggle for their rights. Certainly, Nigerians will never do what the Egyptian masses did, or the tunisians, or the Yemenis, or the Turks...

alcuin: It takes the wise to know that ASUU have been shifting the goal post when the game is on ever since. First, it was earned allowances. In fact, that was the main reason the wise was declared. Consult July 1st 2013 newspapers for reference. Since, that didn't hold much sway, to gather sympathy, the issue of 2009 agreement and full implementation was brought on board, knowing fully well that FG cannot fully implement it. After much tussles, the president met with ASUU and new proposals came. Next, the unfortunate death of Prof Iyayi. ASUU blamed FG and says it will not call off strike until he is fully buried. However childish it may sound but this caused a real row in ASUU circles. In further to stall and sabotage the efforts, new demands on the president signature and co was brought up when a representative of the FG has signed the document. The most annoying of all, demanding that salaries must be paid and immediate disbursal of some billions.
The strike has always been mainly about the 2009 agreement. The earned allowances are also part of the 2009 agreement.
I wish you would take time to listen to yourself. You insinuate that ASUU is mischievously bringing up the 2009 agreement because they 'know that the FG cannot fully implement it'. Are you saying that ASUU held a gun to the heads of the FG negotiation team back in 2009? Are you aware that GEJ was a part and parcel of that agreement? When you sign an agreement, you stand by it.

I wonder if you can tell your local bank that you will not honor your loan repayments that you signed because 'they know fully well you cannot implement it'. cheesy

alcuin: Just one question, if graduates are unemployable and as it is popularly said "half-baked". Who are the chefshuh?
I'm going to put most of the blame on the FG, sorry to burst your bubble. The best of lecturers will be hamstrung by substandard equipment. Years of FG neglect has led to the inability of the Universities to attract/retain the best brains.

Of course there are some lecturers that are plain bad. Some are mediocre. Some have absolutely no business lecturing. But it is irresponsible to stereotype all lecturers as lazy, corrupt, perverted deviants. I see some students on Nairaland doing this and posting anecdotal evidence as support. This, of course, is as brainless as claiming that all students are cultists and killers because we all know some students that are cultists.

alcuin: I see those things and I am a student too. But Rome wasn't built in a day, it is a gradual process. Come to think of it, ASUU played a great role in the decay via strikes and non-performance. Know the real enemy.
ASUU should cooperate with FG in tackling this mess and not arm-twisting the government.
Well, good for you, but I am not a student. In fact, I graduated about 10 years ago. This is why I can see the folly in your 'Rome was not built in a day' mantra. They were saying that in my days. If ASUU does not fight, they will be saying the same thing in your Children's time too.
Let me ask you: If ASUU does not fight, who will? NANS? cheesy
Let me tell you who will fight. Nobody. You'll all manage it and smile and graduate and go for NYSC and the next set will come to take their place in the decrepit universities.

ASUU 'co-operated with the FG' for 3 years by engaging in dialogue, hoping for implementation of the 2009 agreement. What did they gain? What did they gain?

alcuin: It also makes ASUU happy to know the very students whose feelings were not considered when decisions that have a strong effect on their future negatively is made is supporting them on their selfish course and mission to dis-stabilize the already fragile nation.
Again you show a critical lack of understanding that is unbecoming of an Undergraduate. 'Selfish course'? The 200b per year they've won from the FG as a minimum, is that going into ASUU coffers? Moneis distributed to Universities for CAPITAL PROJECTS are dispensed by the VC/Bursar with oversight from the Senate. Last I checked, the VC and Bursar aren't ASUU members.
Can you tell me how going on strike is 'destabilizing the already fragile nation'? You sound like someone reading from the FG/PDP manual cheesy

A delay of 6 months will unfortunately delay one set of students, but it is not a crippling setback. Failure to improve our Universities will see Nigeria doomed to being a second class Nation. Fixing our Universities will bring a drastic improvement in the lives of many more sets of students to come.

alcuin: Thanks, but the country comes first before any union.
I agree! The unholy Union of the FG, NANS and the horde of brainless students out there must be made to understand that the status quo they are so desperate to maintain will see Nigeria further slip down the dark path of failure!

Temptee101: There is some sense in what he said though. A church that gives relevance and importance more to Mary and the saints mentioned in the bible than Christ Himself. Also a church that believes that after one is dead, he goes to purgatory where he will atone for the sins he committed for some time before been recalled to heaven. After evaluating all these, a reasonable christian would sure think twice
Another drunken Pastor Worshipper cheesy

alcuin: Now, it is a different game. ASUU is disunited and losing support from Nigerians by the day.
Yet another indication that the vast majority of Nigerians are gutless and cowardly.

alcuin: ASUU has been sabotaged and hijacked, it doesn't take a PH.D in political science to see this.
No. ASUU was 'sabotaged and hijacked' when they would go on strike and resume lectures on the basis of empty promises with nothing signed on paper. Now, they are finally fighting for the right thing. It takes a mentally inept fellow to insinuate that the strike is 'political' or has been 'hijacked'.

alcuin: The FG must sanitize this before it becomes a national disaster.
It was a national disaster more than a decade ago when our universities started churning out unemployable graduates, when lecture halls had the shoddiest of equipment available, when the conditions of service of lecturers was so poor that only the poorest graduates wanted to stay back to lecture.

alcuin: Desperate situations need desperate measures.
I don't get you...is it that you do not truly appreciate how terrible our Universities are now? Is it that you do not see how DESPERATELY our tertiary institutions needs revamping...our labs, hostels, lecture halls etc? Is it that you are blind to see that only a small fraction of the truly gifted graduates stay back to teach others and pass on their knowledge as lecturers?

Well, some of us aren't as blind as you are...and we see that truly, desperate times require desperate measures. Kudos to ASUU!

alcuin: I support FG.
This is exactly what makes the FG happy. One ignorant fellow supporting an FEC that has ZERO of their nuclear family members studying in a Federal University. All their kids enjoy top-of-the line University education. It must tickle them pink when students in Federal Universities that make do with labs with defunct equipment are 'supporting them'.

You poor, naive fellow.

The problem I see here is that even after spending 6 years in school as you clam, you're still half-baked. Everything from your appalling grammar to your logically unsound arguments paints a picture of someone who isn't ready for graduation.

For what it's worth, ASUU doesn't get the money. The money gets sent directly to the universities. The funds are administered by the VC, the Bursar and oversight from the University Senate. The VC and Bursar are not ASUU members.

Who gives a flying frag why GEJ is 'angry'?
At least he gets to sleep safe and sound in his big house with always-on electricity, running water and food from the best cooks in the land, armed with a 1bn budget for food.

Mr President does not care Nigerians are angry with him for the gross insensitivity in increasing the import duties on tokunbo vehicles in a move that seems tailored only to help the likes of Coscharis et al. Does he care?

It should be a thing of shame to publicly admit to only personally intervening in the ASUU strike after 4 months. It should be a thing of shame to assert that the naturally wary ASUU leaders are 'subversives' when you know you were among those that recommended the 2009 agreement that was not implemented. How do you want them to trust you when they were all there in 2009 when your PDP Government failed them?

ROSSIKE: What has ''got worse''? I beg make we hear word. In the 70s kids ran around nake.d in the villages. You would eat a plate of food with ONE MEAT in it. That was the norm. Today, even mechanics eat dishes filled with all kinds of exotic meats and vegetables. Food is plentiful and cheap. Kids are driving around in Jeeps. In the 70s, rich men used to ride Peugeout 404. Poor men rode Molue, and Lagos was a cesspool of filth and garbage. UNLIKE TODAY. Many states have improved compared to the 70s.
And that is your yardstick for development? That people are driving jeeps in town? You truly think food is cheaper these days?
What are the trade offs today? Corruption is institutionalized, oil bunkering is rampant, insecurity is at an all time high, what with Boko haram and the rise of kidnapping.

Funny how you cite people driving around in jeeps as evidence of development...yet by march next year, your master plans to raise import duties on tokunbo cars , making it harder for the kids you cite to buy jeeps. Progress, eh?

sniperwolf: How come the PlayStation 4 is selling for above #100,000 in Nigeria when the price is slightly below $400. These guys want to rip us off in this country.

Jumia.com is selling for N139,995
The PlayStation 4 has not been Officially released in Nigeria. It's sold out nearly everywhere. When people go to the effort of importing the device from overseas, why do you expect them to sell it to you at cost price?

siliowhizper: Some of the people commenting didn't watch this video properly or at all. Did you hear when Kate asked him to stop singing, did he? NO! when kate said she was going to walk off the stage if he continued, did he stop? NO! The dude continued singing. Nobody should blame Kate at all.
If you have nothing intelligent to say, please keep quiet.
You're mandated to stop singing if all three judges buzz you out. One judge still hadn't buzzed him out and he was asked to continue singing.

Why is he supposed to stop singing because your idol Kate asked him to stop? Not everyone is a nollywood groupie like you.

siliowhizper: If you give birth to your kids oooo, you can afford to take his/her rubbish, disobedience or you can go ahead and tolerate all form of insubordination from your junior at work.
What the heck are you even saying?! Who is the 'junior' here? Where's the 'insubordination'?
