Politics › Re: Okorocha Begins Payment Of Stipend To School Children by texazzpete(m): 4:07pm On Nov 01, 2011
I cannot see the logic in this.
N120 is chickenfeed, even to the ultra poor. It's not going to make any difference in the lives of the kids. It's also going to create a new avenue for corruption and theft of state funds.

Let this man PLEASE focus on providing lasting infrastructure for his people instead.
Politics › Re: Kogi Police Explain Arrest Of Acn Members In Lokoja by texazzpete(m): 7:44am On Nov 01, 2011
Is there no depth that Beaf will not sink to?
The Police have no right to ask anyone what they are 'going to do in Abuja' or deny anyone transit because they did not provide detailed description of what they are going to do.
I cannot believe any one in his right mind will defend this nonsense.

thanks for looking at my post.my dear slot is selling black torch2 for 90k.white is not in slot neither is it in affordable.beware of what people carry about.i don't sell manufacturer refurbish or seller refurbish which most of the shops at computer village do but you won't know.they will sell it to cheap because you want cheaper phone.
White Torch 9810 is 73K in affordables, nearly 50K cheaper than your selling price.
This is greed on an epic scale. Is anyone really buying these at that price?
Politics › Re: Seun (Nairaland) Overdue For A National Honour by texazzpete(m): 6:31pm On Oct 31, 2011
Professors with over three decades of teaching experience receive no honours yet people like Aki and Pawpaw are being bestowed with honors.

So yes, since the awards seem to be handed out by drunkards, I understand why the OP can easily feel that Seun should be handed one too.

mens dept:
Our main problem is that the people are too childish, cowardish, and worse- COMPLACENT, even the latest generation. So if cant stand up against huge allocations for Senators that havent been in their state in 6 months, or to pay the numerous states that we shouldnt even have, then dont complain about Youths going abroad for further studies.
Please Provide proof that the large allowances the Senators collect comes from the Imo State account.

The poster is unhappy that Imo State funds are being used to fuel this scheme that he feels is wasteful. What does that have to do with Senators collecting furniture, housing and hooker allowance in Abuja?
Business › Re: FG Imposes Fuel Levy On Federal Roads - From Jan 2012 by texazzpete(m): 5:47pm On Oct 31, 2011
All you stoopid Nigerians that voted PDP even after over a decade of misrule, I hope y'all are happy now?
After all the taxes you all pay, and in addition to the planned increase in Fuel price post subsidy removal, you all will now pay this insulting levy.

Welcome to Nigeria,a nation of 160 million people, mostly cowards and fools.

I Doubt if it is Okorocha's duty to help the Federal government restructure the educational sector. He is doing what he can (within the limits of his Jurisdiction). As for the $7000, it sure seems like a lot when you consider the total sum, however, if the state would send them abroad for 6 months, the state should also cater for them. I am not sure $7000 is not too much, however I still think it is a good plan.
There is an Imo State owned University (IMSU), you know
Phones › Re: Nokia Releases Nokia N9 Running Meego by texazzpete(m): 9:05am On Oct 31, 2011
shockreaction:
I still haven't used a WP7 phone, but I know there are 3 things that will make me "entertain" the platform, so to speak.

1. Proper real-time multitasking (see: Symbian, Maemo or heck, even MeeGo Harmattan)
2. USB mass storage
3. Access to the filesystem on the device

#3's not even a priority if #2 is implemented.

Oh yeah, I got a 64GB N9. You can check out my short run through in my blog.
</shameless plug>
All these will not keep me entertained if there are no meaningful apps for it.
Phones › Re: Whatz Up Nokia ? by texazzpete(m): 9:03am On Oct 31, 2011
qwest:
can't this guys at Nokia get anything right? they jettison their own in house platforms to go paying Microsoft royalties on an OS that is not as popular as theirs.
You obviously know little of what has been going on in the tech world.

Nokia's marketshare is slipping, Symbian is fast falling out of favour with consumers in Europe and is not at all popular in the US. Windows Phone is much better than Symbian and has a better chance to survive in the Android and iOS infested waters than Series 60 ever did.

qwest:
the software has glitches n the hardware they put out is below par. n the misguided CEO goes on t.v to claim: 'this is the real windows phone', when the Taiwanese' firm, HTC has a better offering, in the titan, than their clone of an already released phone, N9, which they seem to want as their flagship.
'Glitches'?! I've read loads of Windows Phone 7.5 reviews and I havent seen any mention of any serious glitches (every OS has some bugs. iOS, Android are no exception). I've used WP7 myself and IMHO the UI is fluid, beautiful and unsurpassed in its loveliness.
I have no idea why you say the Lumia 800 has 'below par' hardware. The screen is on par with the best in the industry (Super AMOLED just like the GS2), the phone chassis has been described as the most beautiful phone hardware ever by Engadget and CNET. The processor (1.4 Ghz!) and GPU are the best ever seen in a Nokia device. Despite what the Android drones say, 512MB RAM is perfectly adequate for WP7 since it's much leaner and more efficient that Android.

While the Lumia 800 looks just like the N9, you say this as if the N9 wasn't released just last month in only limited markets.

Nokia took a brave and bold step with the switch to WP7, but it was the right choice.

Chuck D:
don't be too convinced about that. in just 2 quarters, sammy overthrown apple in sales. before now statistics showed that that number of android phones sold put together were more than iOS phones but no single oem earned more than apple. now its no longer android vs ios but samsung shiping more phones than apple. galaxy nexus running the updated ice cream has gained a lot of reviewer's support. let's see what this holiday season will be like, make we just wait.
The only reason Samsung outsold iOS in Q3 2011 was because many buyers were waiting for Apple's 2011 iPhone (most expected a radically redesigned iPhone 5, we got the 4S instead)

As it is, the already stellar sales of the 4S will probably see Apple taking top spot again.

LOL,

The world? Which and which? Recognized by which world financial organization? The Naira is declining, please if you have nothing to say, don't spew such rubbish on here.
I didn't see you come here to lambast Soludo when the Naira fell from N115 to N150 under his watch.

manny4life:
Like duh, did our leaders tell him they are idiots and don't know the truth? huh huh huh Please, Sanusi should go and sleep; he was lucky to be elevated to CBN Gov and that's where his career will end. He spoke an obvious fact, but he leadership style and vigor is just outrageous.
See your mouth like 'obvious fact'. Why did none of you here challenge GEJ when he told you all that the only problem with Naija federal universities is poor accommodation? If it was an obvious fact, why did none of you come here to complain vigorously when GEJ said he'd build more federal universities?

All of you babbling about this statement being 'obvious' need to get your heads examined. The salient point here is that in this nation of sycophants and arse lickers, we have a top government official who is not afraid to say the truth. Sanusi tackled the Senate, he openly spoke against Yar'Adua's 7 point agenda and now he's expressing his disapproval with GEJ's plans to build new Universities without fixing the decaying old ones.
Which other serving official will dream of doing this?

You Nigerians sicken me sometimes, we finally see someone who has some balls and instead you armchair critics are attacking him for 'stating the obvious'.

if you people like, keep babbling about 'Islamic Banking' and other conspiracy theories. All discerning people know is that where armchair critics like Reuben Abati failed to last the test of time, people like Sanusi have remained consistent.

ogugua88:
It was a question. I don't see how my comment is unfortunate. Who gave him that money? Who buys his albums? Who made him who he is? Nigerians need to remember that they make these stars who they are. A lot of them make it big and forget where they came from. There's nothing wrong with spending. I don't see anything wrong in me wondering how many cars D'banj needs either. One, two, three cars sef is fine. However, he has a Cadillac, a Bentley, a couple Mercedes', a BMW, and now an Aston Martin. I usually don't complain about celebrities but that is some serious excess. In a country where most people are poor, most people don't have food, children are skipping school to hawk, ROADS ARE HORRIBLE, there's no steady light, no efficient healthcare, and numerous other problems, I personally couldn't sleep at night knowing I have all that and spend it on things I'll hardly use, whilst someone is dying because they can't pay for treatment. Maybe some of you have learned to tune out of the reality that is Nigeria and live your lives like after God it's you.
WTF is wrong with you?
Nobody 'gave' him that money you dolt! we exchanged our money WILLINGLY for his albums. I've never met anyone who gave him money for nothing.

As long as his money was made legitimately, it's imbecilic for you to tell him how to spend it.
By the way, where were you when Pastors in Nigeria started buying private jets?

Our research also indicates that BRT buses in places like Lagos as well as other mass commuter schemes which convey workers to and from their work place, including over 80 percent of NLC members, on a daily basis, are fueled by diesel. So who benefits from subsidized PMS?. The gain of course goes to the few Nigerians that can afford fleet of petrol powered cars, four wheel drives and sport utility vehicles, SUV,”
You're a brainless nitwit and I wish I could punch you in the face right now.
I drive an SUV, true. but I also pay far more tax than your poverty stricken arse. I hand over nearly 3.5 million Naira yearly in taxes. In exchange, I have two generators and one inverter because the FG will not provide adequate power supply. I suffer through bad roads for the same foolishness of my government. My water supply comes from a borehole in my compound - without this I would die of thirst.

So even after subsidizing your broke ass with my tax, I'm supposed to happily pay N150 per litre to fuel my car and my Generators (that run at least 4 hours per day). You're a dolt.

It's unfortunate to see these exhibition of Poverty Mentality here, it is now clear that many Nigerians will easily trade in their freedoms for some level of financial comfort.

It was the rich nobles in Scotland that led the rebellion against the English occupiers centuries ago. Nigerians here are inviting oppression on themselves as long as someone dashes them $5000 for every child they give birth to. It's unfortunate sad

Saif Al Islam stole billions of dollars of Libyan money, along with other members of his kleptocratic family.

What these kiddies don't know is that Gadaffi's stint as 'African leader' and champion of 'United Africa' came only after Tunisia and Egypt repeatedly refused his offer to merge countries and become a dominant United Arab nation.

Yes, blame it all on western propaganda.

All you little kids that have little knowledge of history will be posting obscure Youtube videos as 'evidence' for your wild claims. Where were you when Gadaffi was a major sponsor of international terrorist groups like the IRA, Red Army Faction (also know as the Baader-Meinhof gang) in West Germany, the Red Brigades in Italy, ETA in Spain and Farc in Colombia?

Where were you when Gadaffi admitted Libyan complicity in the Lockerbie bombing that killed 270 people? Where were you when Libya agreed to pay $2.75 billion as compensation to victims families?

Where the f**k were you when Gadaffi agreed to pay 2 billion pounds to families of IRA bomb blast victims who were killed by semtex explosives supplied by Libyan agents, as part of his support for international terrorism?

Where the heck were you when Libya invaded Chad and annexed a portion of that country until he was defeated by the Chadians in 1987?

Nonsense.

I agree with the sentiments that Gadaffi died too easily. When you consider the thousands of people who have been brutally murdered on his orders, you start to agree with the family member of a Lockerbie plane bombing victim who remarked that "I wish they could kill him twice!"

Let's hope the fires of hell are stoked even hotter for this monster.
