Christianity Etc › Re: Tempted To Assist A Family With God's Money (Tithe) by texazzpete(m): 10:50am On Oct 03, 2011
fummylolah:
Similar incidence happened to me 4 months ago. a junior colleague of mine had his first daughter at UCH Ibadan because she had kidney related ailment. There was no place for him to get money cause he actually dropped his whole salary for treatment and has borrowed from everybody he can imagine( kidney problem of over 7 yrs) and still needs more or else his daughter (14yrs) would die, I prayed to God and asked for forgiveness if i was doing d wrong thing by giving the guy my tithe. i also made d guy to understand dat i was giving him my tithe and so he should use it for d purpose to which i am giving him. i beleive there are some conditions to which the tithe can also be used to help the needy, Pls correct me if i was also wrong,
You are truly pathetic.
You are supposed to give your Tithe to God (if you believe in the Tithing doctrine - personally i don't). Jesus Christ took the pains to show how you do things for God when you do things for the needy. What happened to "Whatsoever you do to the least of my brethren, that you do unto me"?!
Abeg help the needy when you can with your tithe money. You are handing it directly to God and not to some greedy Pastor.

I am quite happy I campaigned for GEJ, so many good things have bobbed up, from the signing of the FOI bill to these new plans for medical treatment (just as Nigerians are beginning to see changes in power supply). Thats not to mention the myriad positive changes that have occurred in the petroleum sector.

We've got a thinking President.
Meanwhile infant and maternal mortality is as high as ever, life expectancy in Nigeria still remains mid-forties for men. Yet we're supposed to jubilate because of some 'plans'.

Abeg we need to see actual results on ground. We want to hear more of 'we have' than 'we will'

Let me start by saying that it is quite rude and immature to call your president a mor0n simply because you don't agree with his policies. I may excuse thugs and semi-literate never do wells like Eko-Ile to use those words; not you.
Quit trying to belong to a lynch mob that makes no damn sense. undecided

Surprising statement from Fashola, to be honest.

People emigrate to seek greener pastures. Can he promise all lagosians better conditions of life if they stay put in Nigeria? We all saw the careless way he handled the doctors strike of last year. Doctors were left overworked and underpaid in Lagos while they gazed enviously at their better appreciated brethren in the west.

I have actually been looking forward to this moment, This tablet is my best vote at half the price of the least expensive ipad, with so much cool features, i'll definitely be getting one. Amazon released four new products The kindle classic, Kindle Touch (3g version) and the kindle fire. I'll be going for the kindle fire and touch.
Please mention the 'so much cool features' you're talking about.

The main killer points are the price and the tight integration into Amazon's services. You've already mentioned the price before and the Amazon services (streaming music, video etc) are pretty much US only at release. So what other features?

where are these MEND guys?
their focus of hatred should be on these people
Why would MEND intervene? Weren't you there when the CAN president Ayo Oritsejafor was telling everyone that Uduaghan's victory was 'ordained by God' and was 'God's word for Delta people'? With backing of the corrupt elite and the clergy, the man is sitting pretty on the throne!

http://www.thenationonlineng.net/2011/index.php/newsextra/5141-uduaghan-in-victory-thanksgiving.html
The President of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, has advised politicians in Delta State against unwarranted attack on the governor-elect, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan over his victory in the governorship election.
Speaking at his Word of Life Bible Church during a Thanksgiving Service for Uduaghan and his deputy, Prof. Amos Agbe Utuama, over their hard-fought victory at the polls, Oritsejafor cautioned that attacking or harbouring evil thoughts against Uduaghan could amount to attacking God over his choice.
The CAN President’s advice came on the backdrop of threats by some members of the opposition over the electoral victory of Uduaghan. He warned that the era of violence in the state had passed, adding that anybody who attempts to drag the state back to the dark days of violence would face the wrath of God.
So you see, apparently if you criticize Uduaghan's administration, you risk being hit by the wrath of God (according to your CAN president) grin

Read the reviews of Windows Phone 7.5 (Mango)

N9 was DOA. Nokia needs to continue to move smartphones in volume to willing consumers to stay in the black. Selling a handful of meego powered phones to hardcore nerds is no way to return to profitability

My dear sir, google is your friend. It took me less than 100 seconds (slow internet connection) to find out that the Blackberry Torch 9810 arguably has the best camera quality in comparison with other Blackberry devices.
All the top tier OS7 handsets (9900, 9930, 9810 etc) have the same camera module and are thus at par at the top of the BB camera chart
Phones › Re: What Depletes Phone Battery Most? by texazzpete(m): 8:58am On Sep 25, 2011
Any activity that keeps the screen backlight on constantly will deplete the battery faster than usual.
As far as browsing is concerned, browsing over WiFi consumes far less power than using the phone's 3G modem. If you wanna save battery life, outsource your connection to Wifi as often as you can.

I have no idea why 'Pinging' is an option in the poll. less than 10% of Nigerian phone owners use blackberries.

Okay Good that's your own opinion,  All i know is that i have already started making my own hard earn money and i will always patronize my Nigerian people and also get products from other as well.  i use both foreign and locally made products made here in Nigeria. As i believe it will improve our GDP as well as create more employment here in our country. All i do is filter Nigerian products that are very Good and are up to standard for me as they are plenty of them. I don't use Zinoks cos am scare of how long it would last and also been using HITV till dey messed up. Also i visit ROMAS store in Enugu the last time i was there but that does not mean i will not visit polo park when i go there,  All am trying to say is that we need to encourage our Nigerian Brothers and Entrepreneurs and get happy when some compete strongly with foreign companies.

Are we not happy to see our own brother  Oluwaseun Osewa's work (Nairaland, Nairalist) Yielding results for him and us. its all proudly Nigerian and we need to keep up with the support and encouragement.

Please go and find out how many of these companies coming to Nigeria were 'Encouraged' by their Governments and people while they churned out substandard service.
You're just being a big hypocrite! You will not use Zinox because you are scared of the quality?! Why are you now encouraging people to put their hard earned money towards things that provide less value for money? Why are you not using HiTV till now? What do you mean 'until they messed up'? Isn't HiTV a Nigerian company anymore?

I want to see evidence that you folk have discarded your Hondas and Toyotas for Innoson Motors vehicles before I begin to take you seriously.
Business › Re: Shoprite Opens In Enugu by texazzpete(m): 1:47pm On Sep 19, 2011
samyng:
The truth of the matter is that i use Nigerian Products too as i love to encourage Nigerian products and ideas. The problem is that most Nigerians build and make bad impression of their products, also note this foreign companies have big money to setup this big stores and expansion. eg Shoprite, game etc.

There are companies here in Nigeria which started Good with nice performance but along the way don't know how they went down

HITV,  Dont know what happened and this company is slow in growth and popularity right now and DSTV is back with no competition
GLO, Am so happy Glo is keeping up with the competition with MTN
Visafone and starcomms only CDMA networks in the country and they are really trying their best.
Zinox,  How many people would want to get zinox computers or laptops here in Nigeria,  I wonder how many nairalanders have zinox computers or laptops.

The list is endless. it all begins with each and everyone of us and most times these Nigerian companies contributes to this,
The way out of all this if the People and the Government can all join hands encourage this indigenous companies and give them all the support and complain  they need to do better, i believe they will do better and expand thereby creating more employment for us living in it
See them complaining. How many of you are using Glo? Most of una na MTN.

What makes you think you won't run to shoprite even if there is a Nigerian mall close to it?

Make una go sit down, abeg.
When you people grow up and start earning your own money, come back and discuss!
I earn my own money through hard work so the sensible thing for me to do is to spend it on the best value for money. Even ultra-patriotic Americans will buy Toyotas over Ford vehicles at will.

If HiTV was quality, nigerians would have supported them. If Glo was FAR better than MTN, why will any Nigerian fail to patronise them?
Why should I spend my hard earned money to buy a Zinox laptop that is technically inferior to Laptops from HP, Dell or Toshiba at the same price point?

Please free yourselves from this spirit of small mindedness. At the end of the day, best value for money is the only sensible choice for someone who legally earns money the hard way. Not this pseudo-patriotic crap you people are spouting.
