Once again we see this tiresome scenario where Nigerians condemn without suggesting any alternative solution. Oya, what do you 'experts' suggest the Government do? |
Beaf:Can you provide information on the 'American influence' in these countries you've listed above? but you won't, will you? That will only show your ignorance. Instead of you pathetic, babbling dolts to focus on Sudan where people are being killed in Darfur, or Zimbabwe where people are starving daily, you choose to go down the conspiracy theory route. While the Chinese routinely shoot down UN attempts to take harsh and punitive measures against Sudan's government over the Darfur crisis, you try and raise noise over unverifiable claims. When you people finally get the balls to fix your country and your continent, you'll progress. Keep pushing the blame onto others and you'll see where we all end up. |
YaY!! Charles Taylor said the CIA helped him escape. So it must be true. SO now that we know that Charles Taylor is a reliable person whose testimony must be believed, that means he must be innocent of all the charges levied against him as he has claimed. Afterall, we now know he's an honest man, right? You dolts will believe anything anyone tells you as long as it fits in with your crazy conspiracy theories. Since when did a drowning man like Charles Taylor become a credible witness? As long as dumbos like you keep blaming everything on the CIA, Africa will never progress. You're no better than Mugabe, starving his people to insanity while blaming his errors on the 'Western imperialists'. I'm not surprised. there's always a historical precedence for this blame shifting. In the 1930s we saw Hitler convince millions of Germans that the Jews were the source of the problems of the world. we know what happened next. |
So you don't have an iPhone, yet you feel it's 'stressful' eh? You talk as if new firmware releases happen every day. if you're too lazy to read the iPhone thread here (which has loads of useful tips and tutorials), then by all means get another phone! |
Lol. Ngage is dead. all the best developers and games have headed to the iPhone these days. |
Why should you be surprised? Femi Falana has just proven himself to be an idiot! |
laptops still overpriced. No laptops are made in Nigeria, so it sounds really childish when you people state things like 'US Specs' when referring to laptops. What has that got to do with the quality of the laptops? |
flyuche:Kindly provide a link to your 'study', please. |
Which stupid profit are you talking about?? Oil is sold on the global crude oil market and everyone buys at the SAME PRICE. Countries don't go about pricing oil like they're in oshodi. The prices are fixed by market forces of supply and demand just like stock markets.
back2back is too stupid to understand this most fundamental of all concepts. That is all. |
Falana should shut the hell up. I cannot imagine an intelligent man in this day and age asking for reparation payment from europeans for slave trade. Are the people living in Africa today descendants of slaves? If anyone should talk about reparation, shouldn't it be the afro-americans in america? When those people aren't interested in reparation, why should he be angling for money? why has he not demanded the Arab nations from the middle east pay africans slave trade reparations? Is the learned fellow not aware that more blacks were shipped to the middle eastern arab countries than the trans-atlantic slave trade? Wikipedia tells me that a large amount of the slaves taken to the Americas were sold to the white men by Yoruba Obas and chieftains. Perhaps femi Falana should ask his Oonis and Obas to pay reparation money as soon as possible. I don't care how accomplished the fellow is, or how smart he's supposed to be. he's temporarily lapsed into idiocy, and it's shocking! |
back2back:The same Mubarak is key to the middle east peace process, key to helping end a decades long conflict. You know nothing of international politics. Why not stick to more forgiving sections like 'Jokes' and 'Romance'? |
As someone said before, there's a market for Oil if one needs it. Is it wrong for a country's leader to seek ways of economic co-operation between other countries? Obama was in Russia just before he came to Ghana. Of course he held talks with Putin/Medvedev on improving economic ties between both countries. are we that jobless that we seek the sinister in the mundane? back2back:The same Obama you try hard to malign clearly and accurately underlined the reason why africa fails to progress 1. War 2. Tribalism 3. Corruption 4. Stubborn and desperate cling to power by rulers and failure to embrace true democracy. If we understood what was in the bible we wouldn't be labelling innocent kids in Calabar as witches. We wouldn't be killing and maiming innocent children all in the name of religion. So don't bring that kain gist here. |
clark hary:Do not listen to this guy above. Never format your genuine (legit) OS to install a N200 pirated version. it doesn't make sense. Try any of the other tips the other posters have given you. |
Kosovo, be man enough to post your source. You and i know what that will reveal. . . You're yet to show any proof of CIA complicity in Nigerian coups. Remain focused! |
All true. But these are things we already know, and it wouldn't have any meaning only because we heard it from Obama. Obama's "world lover" tactic is rendering him more ceremonial like the English queen; trying not to directly hurt anybody and propose risky foreign policies, thereby failing to reach any definite resolution. He might as well have written a letter.
So what if we've heard it before? It won't hurt for it to be drummed into our ears repeatedly until we learn. The main reason you're dissapointed is because you expected a speech about more aid and more handouts. We need to realize that we are the ones that are going to solve our own problems if we want any form of progress at all. Would you rather Obama went about with Bush's 'axis of terrorism' speeches? Would that not drive the North Koreas and Irans of this world into greater isolation? Already anti-americanism is on the wane in Europe now. As someone said on CNN the other day, it'sno longer cool to hate on america since Bush got kicked out and Obama came in. |
as far as i know, there's no GSM version of the Pre yet. It's still CDMA only. Please clarify. |
amarilo:Way to go, taking my words out of context, dolt!
Thats xactly what I call trash!
care to explain why you think what i said is 'trash'? lannre:I don't see you coming up with any solutions either. |
IT can easily be argued that slams loot is by far the most terrible. He's a governor from an under developed state in the Niger Delta, yet he could steal the state blind. Bode George's loot has no direct impact on any single state in Nigeria. Do you know what alams money could have done for generations of Bayelsans? Bode George is just a weasellly old man. Alams however was hailed as the 'governor-general' of ijaw land. I dunno about you clowns, but it's more shameful when your Governor general contributes heavily to the under development and poverty of his people. Funny how MEND happily chooses not to single out Alams for condemnation. Thieves flock together, after all, |
bigrovar:<kid gloves gloves on> You know exactly what i meant when i used the word 'linux'. I meant it as a generic term for the Linux distros we have today, and not just anything running with a linux kernel as the Chrome OS will. The most likely incursion area for Linux OS was going to be the netbook. A popular, usable OS from Google will serve to sate the customers who want cheaper notebooks with smaller storage space and further reduce the need for linux-on-netbook units. It should have a far less impact on Windows users with workstations and productivity devices who would stand to lose compatibility with existing applications. The general theory of how the Chrome OS will pan out will be something similar to the Palm Pre's WebOS. At this stage, all people can postulate at the moment is educated guesses. Just as Google's web based office suites haven't really hurt Microsoft's Office sales, Chrome OS will probably have non-critical effect on Microsoft's bottom line. . .at least not for a while. </kid gloves gloves on> bigrovar:You mean like your frankly silly 'review' of Windows 7 pre-beta OS, where you didn't have the common sense to perform your test comparison on similar hardware? or your stubborn insistence on dissing the OS even when comprehensive performance charts from respected reviewers like CNET and ZDNET were presented, brainlessly postulating a conspiracy theory that they had been bribed by Microsoft? Your stubborn insistence that Windows Vista is a terrible OS, when numerous people with far more technical aptitude than yourself have shown that on systems that surpass the recommended system requirements, Windows Vista actually does deliver? Your insistence that Windows Media player crash = total Windows crash? Supercillous, vapour headed show-off. |
Google's OS will hurt linux far more than Windows. windows users are usually comfortable with windows, and when Windows 7 comes out, there's bound to be a lot more satisfied customers. Not many will switch and lose compatibility with all their favourite apps. # The open source community is another matter. |
clix:Keep your crappy china phone to yourself. Why not bring in decent phones instead of trying to sell cheap chinese knockoffs to unsuspecting Nigerians? |
More to the point What the Phuck is this doing in the Politics section? El Razur has some points. The level of moderation in this section is abysmal. |
kosovo:At least i have the common sense to always include links to whatever news i cite here. Given the general flakiness of your posting history (HINT: They aren't know for any intelligent discourse) i treat everything from you with the highest levels of skepticism. |
cabali:These are dark time indeed, my man. I fear the hand of the Sith in these matters, May the Source guide us all in these dark days, |
Beaf:This article was set up to indict the CIA for complicity in the coups in Nigeria. How does a reported attempt on the life of Lumumba in far-away congo 'prove' the point of this article? You seem to be struggling with the definition of the word 'proof'. |
Ex Inferis:Silly, fatalistic wastepipe. lol If you're tired of your account, do something creative. don't get banned, get outrageous! Post scandalous stories on the Romance section, create posts dissing any of the following popular Nairalanders osisi davidylan mukina2 Gamine LMAO. Then finish up by taking on michelin89 or whatever her bloody name is in an argument to the death. I think you should mosey on over to the Politics section. Lots of knuckleheads to argue with. PS: You may also attempt to reform the two evil trolls: flyuche & kosovo/vowiski. Mission impossible! |
Beaf:Is this the best you could come up with? My response was to Sam Milla's assertion that Nigeria's problems stem from the US and Britain. Read his comment again and you'll see how apt my response is. |
Beaf:The first line you happily cite is from the article's poster opinion, not from any news site. The wording easily gives it away. Is this truly the best defence you can come up with? Oya, show me any reputable news report stating that the US senate is probing the CIA for 'the murder of foreign presidents and has made a call to the US president to outlaw this practice'. You still demonstrate a shocking lack of intelligence in your answers. The topic clearly seeks to imply that the CIA has has a direct role in the Nigeria coups of the past. Talking about issues in other countries still does not make a case for blaming the CIA. For example, Russian forces overthrew the Afghan government and killed the president prior to the invasion of Afghanistan. Does that mean that the KGB is responsible for all coups in the world also? When you're in a hole, stop digging ![]() |
@inferis I'm typing this from a htc touch pro 2. man, that's a phone.the hero should be great too, but a hardware keyboard on one of my phones has to be a must. i'll still get the 3gs. it'll cost little incremental cash from my 3g when I sell it. android is cool, but the phones are kinda underpowered compared to the iphone and the marketplace is rather anaemic at the moment. that is all. |
@Beaf did you Just include that allafrica link as proof of CIA involvement? Why does it strike u as odd that the most powerful millitary officer in Nigeria would have the number of his counterpart in the US? Don't you know that the first thing considered by army coup plotters is the international recognition of the legitimacy of theIr Governments? Is this the sort of thing you consider as concrete proof? It Appears I gave u too much credit for intelligence. |
