I am silent follower of nairaland. I really thank God for today and also my special thank to cutemorgan for his assistant when I was filling my DS-160. My F-1 VISA was approved today at Lagos embassy, 06:30 appointment. My profile : BSC in pure and Industrial chemistry(GPA 4.01, ), going for MSC in Chemical engineering at oregon state university. My GRE is 311( 160 Q) My transcript will be coming soon because I must give back to nairaland. Nairaland really helped me in some many ways

However i did sponsor a family member last month and i am very sure he asked me for my full address details for the ds160 form. Address yes but i am not sure if my telephone was included. I wasnt asked for that blc he had it anyway and just asked for my full house address

I think the house or those who have applied can answer what sponsor details is put on the ds 160

Here's the transcript

Appointment time 7:30am Abuja Embassy.
I arrived the Embassy by 6am Expecting to have a very long queue. But the crowd wasn't so much.
At 7 am they called us in to do verification and then wait for the VO to arrive.
They arrived at 7:50, and the woman at window 8 had denied everyone she interviewed. I was praying not to go there.
Then I was called and alas Window 8.

Plauses: Good morning ma
VO: Good morning, how do you do?
Plauses: I'm doing good thank you and you? How do you do too?
VO: I'm well. So give me your I-20 and passport
(I handed them over)
VO:so I see you were denied a student Visa about 11 years ago, did you go on to continue your studies?
Plauses: yes I did
VO: so I see you're going to do a Doctorate, what's your highest level of education?
Plauses:I have a bachelors degree
VO: I see you have a graduate assistantship, can you explain how that works?
Plauses: I get a full Tuition Waiver and and annual stipend in exchange for working in Research or As. graduate Assistant.
VO: so who is paying for the balance of your fees?
Plauses: I have savings from working, and my mum is co-sponsoring.
VO: do you know what kind of research you'd be doing?
Plauses: yes I'll be involved in Cancer research, my dad died from a liver cancer a couple of years back and that experience fueled my interest in cancer research.
VO: I see you work, where do you work?
Plauses: I told her my workplace
VO: what do you do:
Plauses: starts explaining (VO interrupts)
VO: Your visa has been approved, you will collect it from this destination in 3 days. Good luck.

Congrats...More success stories for this month

In my case my school didn't not include my scholarship and my own part of my contribution was not added. Only my sponsor. So I contacted them immediately and within a week I got another one through DHL. Contact your school let them resend it. They will do it gladly. Though I don't know if your school will require you to pay for the DHL bill.

The difference is just too much. Notify the school immediately and have them reissue the i20.... because even if you do get visa that error might be spotted else where and then it would become a problem

i20 not just used for visa, used for entry , ss number application. , driving license, first employment. ...so it needs to be correct

IF THE SCHOOL MADE A MISTAKE ON SOMEONE'S I-20 WITH INCORRECT DATE OF BIRTH..E.G INSTEAD OF 1988 THEY PUT 1998... CAN THE PERSON STILL GO TO THE EMBASSY WITH THE I-20 OR BETTER REQUEST FOR NEW ONE.

i think the cut-off will be according to states. from my observation abia, akwaibom, bayelsa, crossriver and some deltans wrote yday. It will continue in that order till saturday, so if you are from a different state from your friend, no cause for alarm it will only raise the cut off for their state. and i supposed every state have their slots and the cut off will be made based on the state performance. This is my opinion though
