Hello, my people. Please I need the guidance of experienced persons here on where to travel to.
Well, here's the issue: I obtained a Nigerian passport in 2016 mainly to resolve an issue relating to a bank account. I had no other valid, acceptable government-issued ID at the time.
Now, time is running on this passport and I am wondering: will it just expire without really using it for the main thing?
I am not interested in travelling abroad just for the sake of doing so. I wish to at least be able to recoup money spent on such travel, legally.
This brings me to the main questions:
1. What's the best place I can travel to with a budget of less than N1 million? Could even be within Africa, if peaceful.
2. What skills would you advice I acquire that can improve my chances of moneymaking in any place you'd suggest?
Your opinions on this matter are appreciated. Thanks. |

Is this only for 'working-class' people? By the way, I sometimes wonder whether all those who request for this quality know the meaning. Nuff said. Make I face my biz here. About me I'm a Yoruba, Christian guy lost somewhere between 30 & 35. Slim and AA. The bad part: I do not yet have a regular source of income I'd consider sufficient to maintain a family long-term. That's the main thing that's holding me back currently - not even in a relationship because of it. But I have been wondering of late: is it when things finally click that I will start searching? This is considering the age factor. What I want I only seek a lady who is decent, reasonable and responsible. Someone who thinks she is ready for marriage, preferably based in Lagos or a neighbouring state. If interested, you can chat me via contacts in my signature below. Let's see if we can make something work. This post remains up until I find someone I have something serious with from here or offline. Thanks. Long story, I know. Forgive moi. |

grandstar: Like any business, it will take time to grow your business but once established, especially if you write good articles, the sky should be the limit.
Why I suggested article writing is that demand is very high so growing the business shouldn't be tough. There is very high demand for quality articles and there are even sites ready to pay up to $50 per 600 word article
Just a few very satisfied clients and they can send you loads of jobs. It is a business you can grow very quickly. Is this based on experience or just what you think? And did you mention that this may involve using a foreign identity to get jobs? Demand for articles may be high, but have you factored in discrimination against, even proficient, non-native writers? Stories abound about such setting up gigs without any order for months. How about those who would want you to write for like as low as $1 per 500 words? You can even find such service buyers on Upwork. Questions and questions. |

danthamccoy: Well, I have. I've seen people make a killing off trading forex. But it takes a lot of knowledge, experience, self control, discipline, foresight and intelligence. What you see are greedy folks who just want to become millionaires overnight. A distant friend trades and is happy with making 30% a month. He's raking it in. 30%, even 10%, a month isn't bad in my own estimation. But I can bet that many traders can't even boast of that. If they could, they would simply have gone in with a larger capital. SmartMindsfx, I agree that greed kills. But the traders I have seen find it hard to break even, including signal providers. |

Funny the professional losses are always more than the profits. Wow. This somewhat confirms my suspicion. I have yet to see someone who has traded live Forex for 5+ years and still continues without belonging to any of the groups I mentioned. Yours is actually better. I have heard of those who lost hundreds of thousands, or even millions, trading. |
Christianity Etc › Re: The Christian Chatbox ( sticky) by ThaThinka: 10:49pm On Dec 09, 2018 |
Ihedinobi3: The choice is ultimately yours what you will believe, dear friend. So, don't take what I am about to say as being any effort to persuade you to act in any way. My particular commitment is to give to everyone who asks the Truth that God has so graciously given to me as well.
In Matthew 12, the Lord Himself gave a lesson on the observance of the Law and the issue of conscience to none other than the Pharisees themselves.
Because I am unwilling to produce a long post right now on this matter, I will only say that He gave them similar lessons several times. There are many today just like the Pharisees (and throughout human history from Cain and Abel until now, there have always been such people) who conceive of God as some kind of moral accountant who is counting sins and good deeds. That is not Who our God is. Our God is full of mercy and lovingkindness. It is true that He hates sin and punishes it severely but it is also true that because of His impossible-to-quantify love for us, He paid a price beyond quantification to save us from our sins.
This is why we ought not to act like He is watching our every move to find fault with us. He is perfect and already knows our faults. That was why He gave us Jesus Christ.
For this reason, those who seek to please the Lord do their best to limit themselves to the Scriptures. And there are many things that the Bible does not address about our choices. It does not tell us that if we are willing to work - to obey God in His command that we should work with our hands in order to provide for ourselves (Eph 4:28) - we should also tell all the truth about where we are when it might hamper our ability to obey Him. It is definitely not a bad thing to seek to be honest. As a matter of fact, it is what we should be unless there are special circumstances that require that we definitely not be honest otherwise we would displease God (Ex 1:15-21; Josh 2:1-22; 2 Sam 17:17-21).
But as I just showed you in these last passages, there can be special circumstances (always involving saving godly lives) which do require that we lie in order to please God.
I don't know the particulars of your situation and I don't believe that anybody but you can fully know and understand them enough to make the right decisions about them. This is why we are told to not judge one another as I told you. You have to actually take the responsibility to study up on the teachings of the Bible and pray diligently and actively exercise faith in the Lord's assurance that He will guide you into the right decisions in order to please the Lord. It is not faith when we look elsewhere for guidance. My circumstances are necessarily different from yours and so are my abilities and even my spiritual attainment so far so that I would be seriously remiss to attempt to tell you what to do even when it seems obvious to me.
So, let me encourage you once again to do your best to limit yourself to the Lord's guidance. I have no idea what He will be pleased to guide you into doing. It may very well be to pursue some new skill-set or it may be something else. But I do know that if I told you that it is wrong for you to claim to reside in a Western country so that you can actually earn a living obeying God in that matter, then I could become the Pharisee upon whom the Lord will not look kindly for interfering with your obedient walk with Him.
The Peace of our Lord Jesus Christ remain with you, dear friend. Thank you, sir. You have said it all: it's ultimately left to me (and my conscience) to decide what I'd do. That's actually the truth for almost everybody else. The post you quoted was actually in reference to situations before posting here. I am still not convinced about toeing the path of claiming somewhere else yet - that is, if I'll ever be able to. You have done the best you could by making biblical references for me to decide things on my own. |

I know that brokers, signal providers, ebook/tool/strategy sellers, and broker affiliates are making a killing from Forex trading.
But I am not so sure if there are ordinary people making a living from trading. I could be wrong, I guess. I just feel those groups I mentioned are the ones that make the money.
Are there really 'regular' traders who make consistent and considerable gains year after year out there from trading forex?

Julivas: Good evening bro, just saw your post. Thanks for sharing your thought here. Bro, this is exactly what is making me not to venture into this online stuff yet. To get orders, one must used strong vpn to change ones location, this is a lie. As a Christian, we must not follow the multitude to do evil you know. The good news is that though your niche may be saturated on some freelancing sites, there is still some niches that you can offer as a Nigerian that you will be getting offers. Niches like video animation, graphic design, white board animation, etc. If you get training on these type of niches, you don't need to change your location. I hope this help. God bless you. Thanks, sir. I had thought about getting a more specialised skill. The issue is that I am not so sure how well I'd fare in the areas I have more interest in, especially programming. Those skills you suggested are great as well. But I'm a bit tentative about them because I think they require ability to conceptualise and draw things. My strong points, I feel, are mainly researching things and writing. This probably explains why I was undecided on the wrong in claiming another country for writing jobs. |

Ihedinobi3: Hello friend.
I am a fellow believer in the Lord Jesus and I do try to stay "filled with the Spirit". A most daunting task that, but His Grace is sufficient for us and His Strength is made perfect in our weakness.
This question you asked like many others just like it is a matter of practical application of biblical truth to one's life. As such, it demands an answer of your conscience to the Holy Spirit. If anyone attempts to give you directives here, they usurp the place of the Holy Spirit in your life. We may teach each other the Truth of the Bible but that is really the limit of our involvement in each other's lives. Our decisions must be made from a conscience free of pressure from others.
So, I encourage you to keep praying and considering the Scriptures and paying attention to good biblical teaching which respects the Bible and does not distort it for selfish purposes. As you do so, this decision will become clearer and clearer for you.
I will say a prayer for you, friend. I believe that the Lord is well able to guide you right in this matter. Thank you so much, sir. I appreciate. |

Hello. I was just wondering if someone with deep knowledge and conviction about Christian living could share their opinion on a matter that I am not so sure about.
I wish to know if it's by any chance it's wrong to work under false pretence. Yes, you might say I already have the answer, but I am just not 100% sure.
I am currently in need of a stable source of income, but jobs aren't forthcoming. Now, I can write content relatively well. I am considering venturing into writing and affiliate marketing in a way that will require claiming to be a resident of a Western country.
Making something significant, enough to confidently take on certain expected responsibilities or roles, could be easier that it is currently. People from non-native English-speaking countries, such as Nigeria, are often discriminated against and given low rates on marketplaces, such as Upwork and Fiverr. This is why I'm thinking of claiming another country.
I have believed all along that this is wrong. But sometimes, including right now, I wonder if this will really be sinful. This is because I'm offering a service after all.
Any 'spirit-filled' Christian here should please share their view on this. Thanks. |

Fuhrerfran6: Top rated? Bro you cool. I tried reaching that Milestone but always have that client that would rate me low so in gave up.
I use a real identity. My real identity but just that I fly American flag right from Nigeria here.
I have suffered lots of racist remarks because I reveal to most clients my true identity but I enjoy the peak of accessing US only jobs.
There is a way to go around the location but upwork recently blocked it. Bro, the truth is I have ethical reservations about claiming to live where I don't or be who I am not. I must say this reality is what has kept me from flying another country's flag despite the rather low rates. In the thick of the recession years back, I saw guys on here making so much money on Fiverr writing. I later learnt they were claiming another country, using foreign IP addresses, and/or white female pictures. I had to back out when I learnt that. Not saying I'm holy or anything, but my conscience no go forgive me. The thing can be quite vindictive. Yes, I am not making anything near what you make yet. But what I earn takes care of my bills, pending when I can find something better. I am not yet 'responsible' (even though I ought to have been already), so I don't have too many liabilities yet. I assume you know what that means. God's been good all the same. As for becoming Top-Rated, I don't think it should be hard for you since you seem to have learnt the ropes. I will advise that you only take on jobs you're perfectly confident of handling. It is important to ask questions on things that you don't fully understand or might become an issue later on. Don't promise so much; it's better to promise a little and over-deliver. This way, you stand better chance of getting more clients to 'cooperate' - yes, not all will. |
Business › Re: How Old Were You When You Made Your First Million?, And How? by ThaThinka: 2:58pm On Nov 23, 2018 |
Fuhrerfran6: Yea you are right... But I'll add that I have learnt to write like a native American... The average Nigerian English is basic and you cannot succeed on up work with that level of English....so the reason why most of my clients are satisfied with my output is that I have learnt to speak and write the way they do. .. Yes, that obviously contributes to your earnings. But I tell you, it will still be difficult to make so much money, if not impossible, if you reveal your Nigerian identity. How did I know? I have been a Top-Rated since that feature was introduced - I have never dropped out for once. This may be because I don't bid on all jobs, only on what I am comfortable handling. The discrimination is real. I'm even thinking of quitting writing or reducing involvement in it. I have observed some of the folks I have as clients are middlemen who probably get job because they're native speakers. |
Business › Re: How Old Were You When You Made Your First Million?, And How? by ThaThinka: 1:44pm On Nov 22, 2018 |
Fuhrerfran6: Nope....I started off with a Nigerian account but no way...switched to the states....I write articles and has been lucky to land well paying contracts. I see. That explains it. The annoying thing is that people who prefer freelancers from native English-speaking countries end up getting content prepared either directly or indirectly by non-natives. Yet, they don't complain about quality. But the story might have been different if they knew they're dealing with a non-native. |
