Divay22: Hmmm It's gonna be a nice thread.. Lemme settle down here.
This thread is likely gonna make some people depress, lost and even sucidial. But pls, Have it in mind that when it's time for the moon to shine the sun must surely give way... So if you're trying, keep trying it's never too late. We all have a story.. Be patient enough to get it the right way so you can enjoy it and not the wrong way cause you just might not recover from it..
God bless us all. And pray he grant your heart desires. Bless you. I thought in this direction as well. The truth is that we all have set time to shine, if God so wishes. The best we can do is continue to put in the effort and leave the rest to the Creator. Fuhrerfran6: 24....made it this year from freelance writing on up work...actually made close to 5 million if not for family problem and fenjo That's interesting. Five million in a year? Wow. But please if I may ask, did you indicate Nigeria as your country? What is the nature of content you write? |

DDGN: You sound like a very bitter person in real life. You are hopeless your self, that's fine. but do not derail people's hopes. Discouraging people from reaching out is borderline cruel. You better change your negative outlook of life lest you trap yourself in a bubble of bitternes and pessimism, it will hinder you from receiving help from people destined to help you. Bro, it might sound like the mister was bitter, but that's not necessarily the case. The truth is that some of these people (not all, mind you) may have ulterior motives or merely want to play to the gallery. There are some who start to ask you to pay before telling you anything when you contact them. It's not like I have an issue with that, but it helps to have proven track record. There are even those known to create multiple monikers for self-conversation - I have seen one such here. I know there are legit ones. But, believe me, not all these stories are true. |

BiafranBushBoy: You wanna hear some lazy man investments?
Smiles... No...
First I started with affiliate marketing... I set it up while working full time. It took over a year to make $50.
The aim is to keep expenses to the barest minimum while working hard.
Once it started gaining traction. I veered off into blogging and started selling information products.
It wasn't hard to start earning $600 monthly.
I dived into Amazon kindle publishing...
End result was that within 6 months just clocking 25, I was there...
Then I already gain traction. Everything is now automated...
I still kept my 7 - 4 job.
The aim is to keep expenses very low. Do away liabilities like phones, shoes and new clothes and reinvest profit
I don't have any liquid assets, I love making my profits myself and saving the others. Hello. Please I wish to ask some questions on the things you wrote here that you do. Do I ask the questions here or contact you privately? |

Thank you all for responding. I appreciate. I had to wait until a time I'll be better able to read and assimilate the information shared.
From all you've shared, I can pick out that regular practice is key to being good. I think structured learning is important for that to be possible, which is why I'm considering registering at a training centre.
As for what to learn, I am leaning towards the suggestions by pront0. Or does anyone think that might not be so great for me? |
Programming › Gurus, What Can I Do In IT, Please? by ThaThinka(op): 5:28pm On Nov 14, 2018 |
Hello, everyone. Sorry, this is a long one.
I have interest in having an advanced IT skill, but I don't know which to go for. By advanced, I even consider graphics design that way, although I know gurus here may not see it that way.
I have a degree in Economics. I read from someone, probably here, sometime ago that someone like me could go for web design and development.
But a problem I have with that is that I don't think I will do very well designing things. My drawing ability isn't good, if that's a possible yardstick.
I think my strong point is writing. I also believe I can be meticulous - perhaps, rather excessively - when doing things.
What would experienced persons in the house advise I learn considering the above? Also note that I am in my early 30s, if that matters.
I am especially interested in opinions on what to study because I am considering registering at a training centre. I don't want to waste my money.
I have laptops for self-study. But that doesn't seem ideal for me without a stimulus, which I think registering at a training centre may be.
I have downloaded different materials for months, but I have not done serious study. I have been having misgivings whether I'm a perfect fit for what I had in mind (programming). In fact, I'm just confused about what to focus on.
Please guide me. Thanks. |

Boiling: I visit that section too but its overcrowded with hungry guys. Yea I'm guilty of studying people too but we can do better. Lets start mixing with people lets start by saying "hi" to a stranger I actually do, but I find that easier to do with ladies. The problem with that is that I soon become aloof with them, sort of. When you approach a lady you do not know previously they might think you want to date. Meanwhile, I only want to be friendly. Who knows something serious might come along later on, if we want it, but not from the start. However, if you meet people where you are together for a common goal, say, at a workplace, you can easily develop a bond of sort without anyone suspecting an 'ulterior motive.' If it's about saying 'Hi," I do that to people I know from church, area or somewhere else. But it is not easy becoming closer with just that. A fellow man you don't know well enough might think you are a gay if you try to get too friendly. Just what I think - I think too much. Boiling: i feel your pain, since we are all introverts here we could meet up and hangout . Besides you never know if there is some1 here who lives in the same street as you. Nice idea. I actually thought about this as well. Callmeibironke also has a point, although I don't agree completely. All introverts are not the same. There are different levels. Some do speak and relate well when in company of people who they feel won't judge them. As for me, I don't have problem meeting people at all. I can meet any random person so long I feel such doesn't have expectations I'm not comfortable with. Maybe it's because I'm much older now. I try to feel free when meeting a person I have never met before. The secret is just to accept yourself and say what you need to say - you might need to prepare for this beforehand (rehearse). Try and feel like no one is judging you and don't judge yourself. |

Boiling: thanks for this, though I'm self employed and work from home but already sending out my CV, staying home all day is killing. I really need to get out dr before Wow, we're practically the same, bro. Never had the opportunity of working in a company since graduating several years ago. I do personal stuff that doesn't involve mixing with people to get by. I wish I could have the opportunity of mixing with people more. This often makes me to stray to Romance section on here to see if I can meet some people. It's not working. I don't relate easily with random people. I need time to study people at close quarters and without any inhibitions - people pretend when meeting primarily to start a relationship. It's better when you meet for a common goal besides that. That's just how I feel. |
Business › Re: Please Help! Gtbank Is Trying To Charge Me For ATM Card Twice by ThaThinka: 10:06pm On Sep 05, 2018 |
Babygiwa: So last week, I noticed that the expiry date of my Guaranty Trust Bank (GTB) ATM Card is 09/18 meaning it will expire September (this month) so I went over to their branch at Oke-Ileowo/Kuto in Abeokuta hoping to get a new one or place an order for a new one so as not to be blind-sighted.
I was on the queue when one of their staff asked me what I needed, I explained to her and she told me that I can’t place an order for a new one until the old one expired or at least until the middle of September and in any case, I will receive an alert from the bank telling me it has been renewed and then I can order for it so I left thinking it was all good.
Fast forward to earlier this week, I got an alert from GTBank telling me that my ATM has been automatically renewed and I should come over to their Oregun branch to pick it up. Note that I have never been to that branch as I opened the account on the road via a marketer and later took my personal documents to another branch to regularize my documentation for the account.
So I went there this morning to get the shock of my life. I was on the queue once again waiting for my turn when a young man apparently a staff since he was wearing a GTBank shirt and had an ID card with the name OLALEKAN. He asked what I wanted and I told him and he said, they have stopped transfer of ATM cards and I will have to cancel the one that was renewed and order for a new one there which will mean I will have to be charged twice.
I stayed on the queue hoping the lady in charge will have better news. It got to my turn only for her (TITILOPE) to tell me the same thing that it is not the bank’s fault but I will have to pay for a new one and then she flippantly added that “Or you can pick up the other one when next you go to Lagos”
Now people, help me out here oo why should I have to pay for an ATM card twice or why can’t I request that my new ATM card be delivered to the branch close to me like sane banks like First, Zenith, Diamond etc? Hmmmm. Maybe this is why some people call them GBT Bank saying this is why they are declaring profits upandan Disappointed to hear this about my favorite bank - the first to let me open an account. If I didn't come across this, I'll confidently boast till tomorrow that they always transfer cards. They once helped transfer my card from a branch in Ibadan to Uyo. It means I should be ready to go do pick-up in IB when next my card expires then. Please strike Diamond off that list, missus. I had to close my account for something somewhat similar. They cancelled my card after charging me saying it's been ready for 30 days or so - bank policy. Yet, it was entirely their effort that I wasn't able to get the card. |

I see no reason he shouldn't be fighting for the tittle with the calibre of players at his disposal but mourinho is just being mourinho, give him the whole world and he would still complain. openmine: 9pm in the night? Na wa ohhh
As much as I want to say RIP to her and sympathize with the family, there is no way she won't be blamed for her untimely demise! In fact she caused her death...she was at the wrong path at the wrong time!
What was so important for her to do at home or school that made her travel at that odd hour to IMO state?
Just as I believe that God is protecting and ordering our steps every now and then,I still believe that we also have a role to play.....
Common sense should have fallen on her that this night travel that she was always embarking on is risky and should be curbed or stopped outrightly!
To whom life is freely given to,common sense is expected!
Night travel or movement esp in Nigeria is not advisable no matter how secured or fortified your abode is....
This should serve as a lesson to the living esp those who like to embark on night journeys!
Advise no be curse!
My condolences to the parents! No, sir, you don't blame the dead. It makes no difference, by the way. Yes, it is a bad idea to move around at night, especially so for a lady. This is a dark country in every way you might want to take that. But note that different factors could cause you to be out later than expected. I remember when I was going to orientation camp for the NYSC years back. I left home here in Lagos for Akwa Ibom very early in the morning. You may not believe that I arrived Uyo in the night and the orientation camp was in another local government. I am not the night type and I always try to avoid being in strange places in the dark. But on that occasion I had to continue on my journey in that darkness since I knew no one in that state and had no money for hotel accommodation. I just kept praying silently in my mind for protection. Now, imagine I was a lady and something like this had happened. Do you think it'd be right to blame me? I pray may God rest her soul and deal appropriately with all evil doers in this country. May He console her loved ones. And those of you pointing fingers at Ibos, shut up! Evil men are everywhere! Who knows if some of you are among. By the way, I am one of those you derogatorily (in your mind) call Afonja. We just have to be objective. |

freeman67: Treasury bill certificate is actually not given same day but after a day or 2 it should be ready. They always give certificate on request. So telling her it's only Fixed deposit they give certificate is not correct. FBN, Stanbic & GT as much as I know always give proof of any TB investment on request after the investment day.. In fact some of them will print and keep even if you don't come. Stanbic in particular will call you to come get it. That doesn't apply to everyone. I wasn't given anything, let alone called the two times I made investment with them. I just made do with debit alerts. |

That's what made me shelf the second degree. I didn't want to do Economics again. The school had accepted first degree in Economics, Accounting and some other courses until 2015. |
