For embassy, yes as long as you do a course-by-course evaluation then it can stand as transcript. But for admission, only the Uni can determine that, mine wanted WES and nothing else
Gu2015:
Pls is ICAS( international credentials assessment of Canada) allowed? ie can someone use it as her transcript?
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by TheBae: 3:42pm On Jul 28, 2015
Very bright suggestion but the course-by-course WES evaluation is about $400 which is a bit on the high side but in all, it's a good idea. My WES evaluation served as transcript during my visa application because my transcript didn't come on time
soji0509:
No!
What you are suggesting is good in the interim / short run ONLY.
Please process the transcript now even if it takes forever. You may need it else where later where they are very strict.
Having applied for it once will make your academic record in full in on the Transcript server of LAUTECH , hence subsequent request will be faster.
In fact, you may further optionally go ahead to send it to WES (World Education Service).
There, it will be accessed and stored for you to request to any school in the world in future with 3 working days.
In this way, you are completely mobile in respect of the academic records and free for life from Nigerian system that hardly work fast.

Lol. You don't have to buy anything. You can have 1 or 2 complementary meals depending on the duration of your flight. And you can drink all sorts of soft drinks, water, tea, coffee as well. It's part of your flight fare. Feel free to take whatever you like. As long as you don't go and order Baileys, you'll be fine. wink
soji0509:
Thanks. Just wanted something I can sip during the long journey as I was not interested in buying anything expensive on board. I now know better grin grin grin . cheers
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by TheBae: 3:31pm On Jul 28, 2015
Thank God! I've been following your progress for a while. I'm truly happy for you
Crich:
My dear, thanks. You were helpful.
Gu2015, thanks for your help too
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by TheBae: 1:20pm On Jul 28, 2015
It must be a reassessment because I got mine on the 3rd as well. This whole thing is just horrible!
hayqinsbFX:
i think everyone that got refused after medicals all got medical mail on july 3rd.

so i think its just a special day where an error either occurred or a boss came in to reassess the documents.
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by TheBae: 1:16pm On Jul 28, 2015
Wow! I can't believe it. I'm so sorry, please don't be discouraged, defer asap

TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by TheBae: 6:58am On Jul 28, 2015
Have they sent you an approval email and dispatch email? If no, please give it some time
LOVINA1245:
my cic account states application approved. does this mean my passport is ready for collection?
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by TheBae: 6:35am On Jul 28, 2015
Nah, everyone should get it. The mail comes with an attached letter that introduces you to immigration at the airport. Some people just get it later than normal. If she picks her passport and the visa was approved, then she must request for the letter.
lexyj123:
i think most pple dat got approval mail did online route.
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by TheBae: 5:57am On Jul 28, 2015
Lol no they won't, as long as it's not harmful and they know what it is (not dairy and other contraband). That's why I'm not sure they'll allow Orijin even if it's checked in, cos the ingredients aren't listed on the bottle. The "no liquid" thing is just so nobody has access to any substance that they can possibly use to blow up the plane
BlogsVilla:
Checked bags how?..Wouldn't they still check the 'checked' bags and remove the liquids?
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by TheBae: 5:51am On Jul 28, 2015
They didn't ask me for any document, I just told them it was for school fees. They first said the limit is $10k or so but after some rounds of complains and speaking to higher-ranking staff, they agreed to send it all. I transferred from a GTB domiciliary account.
SeraSera:
Hi, what document did you submit along with the form?
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by TheBae: 5:43am On Jul 28, 2015
You are very welcome. Good news coming your way soon.
jesscaxt:
@thebae chai u're an angel thanks for ur response.
@crich thanks boo
@Haustralia thanks for ur response as well. I guess some peeps misunderstood u, but I get what u mean, it's safer to wait for a medical request in order to prevent issues as well as saving costs in case u are refused a TRV.

God bless y'all guys.. fingers crossed.
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by TheBae: 8:56pm On Jul 27, 2015
Okay, as hayq said, go pick up your documents so you can know what's up. Stay positive
yetunde84:
Yes I did medical 4th july.
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by TheBae: 8:35pm On Jul 27, 2015
Did you do medicals?
yetunde84:

TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by TheBae: 7:55pm On Jul 27, 2015
Ahnahn sisteh!
Lol, the first paragraph goes "Your application to study or work in Canada has been approved".
Now share the good news
yetunde84:
Ello peeps! Pls wat does d approval mail look like...
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by TheBae: 7:42pm On Jul 27, 2015
That's not what I mean oh. But some people do it. They send the trascript using the school address as the sender's if it's sealed. I don't know if that has ever backfired. Maybe we can hear from people who have done this before
malaoluolateju:
thanks @bae . You mean i could send the one with me via courier and it will be accepted? Knowing its nt frm d school directly....
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by TheBae: 7:37pm On Jul 27, 2015
Let your mind be at rest, check back again tomorrow and if it's still showing that, you may have to email them all the details and receipts you have. CIC has been very inconsistent lately. You shall testify soon.
Crich:
Thank you, dear. But it has gone back from 'updated' to 'your action is required'. I'm more confused. I don't know what's going on.
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by TheBae: 7:25pm On Jul 27, 2015
Your TRV is landing this week and once it does, you must pop champagne for us oh grin
Crich:
Accra immigration just replied my mail now saying; Hello, thanks for the update. Our record has been amended.
I checked my CIC account and saw that 'your action is required' has changed to 'updated' but status hasn't changed to 'medical passed'.
Pls, has anyone seen this kind of mail?
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by TheBae: 7:19pm On Jul 27, 2015
What did you do tackle that in your last application? Please give details, age, siblings, parents, etc, so we can know if you gave that enough attention.
2grozz:
Thank you thebae.....
Then the family ties in canada and country of residence nko?
Still waiting for the gcms file tho
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by TheBae: 7:05pm On Jul 27, 2015
Tbh, that's just a "follow-come" reason. That's the least of your worries unless your travel history shows mostly to terrorist countries or overstaying in other countries. But if it's about Virgin passport, it's nothing
2grozz:
Ehen.....
@ teedboy.....
So you were saying that I shouldnt bother my head about the "travel history" thingy abi?
Just want to be sure
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by TheBae: 6:59pm On Jul 27, 2015
Hehe cheesy wink
TempusQ:
Wow!!!
what a moniker "TheBae"
wink wink wink
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by TheBae: 5:47pm On Jul 27, 2015
A co-op program gives you the opportunity to gain work experience, they give you a job placement which is part of the program. You can meet people, work hard, who knows, they can promise you a job when you're done with school (I know someone who got a job this way). Co-op can only be good for you IMO
scarr:
Good people can anyone explain d difference between a normal program and a co-op program, d advantages and disadvantages if any for the both...thanks in advance
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by TheBae: 5:39pm On Jul 27, 2015
I believe some success applicants on this forum have applied to the following schools with scanned transcripts in the past I'm not sure it's still applicable so I advise you to confirm with the school first
Algonquin
Carleton
University of Victoria
Centennial College
Seneca
Fanshawe
Niagara
favour0011:
Can you kindly help with some universities that accept scanned copies? That will be easier for many applicants!
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by TheBae: 4:36pm On Jul 27, 2015
Some schools accept scanned copies and give you conditional admission so you can just email the school to ask if they can accept a scanned copy of your transcript. If they say no, then you have to send it via courier
malaoluolateju:
@soji are you saying that if i have an extra official transcript with me, i can send it directly to the school even if they say they want it sent directly from the issuing institution?
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by TheBae: 2:41pm On Jul 27, 2015
Lol okay, I've checked priceline and momondos. Makes sense.
I'm going to Halifax.
ayooluwatoni:
Are you going to St John's too? The prices on travelstart are killing. Tried kayak.com too but not satisfied. Then I tried trip advisor, which directed me to priceline.com there I got the one for 280k. Momondos.com also directed me to flyfar.ca, which is the same too, just currency exchange rates, and I think I'll go with that of flyfar.ca, cos they charge in CAD, online priceline.com that charges in USD, cad is kinda cheaper......just being iJEBU!
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by TheBae: 2:15pm On Jul 27, 2015
Upfront medicals is done before you submit your application
jesscaxt:
Hi, I also went the online route, submitted 28th got biometric request the next day and had it done by 30th.
Now, my question is this, can u Pls explain the upfront medical part. Did u go ahead with the medicals without getting a request to do so? I didn't know that was possible. Hope I'm not dulling here waiting for a mail requesting for medicals.
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by TheBae: 2:04pm On Jul 27, 2015
Liquid is obviously not allowed on board na. You have to check it in.
soji0509:
Not even a bottle of water was allowed the last time I travelled . My peak milk got seized etc
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by TheBae:
Of course he can't board with it. I'm sure he knows that. We're talking about taking it with him to Canada as part of "provisions" in his luggage. CHECKED-IN ohh.

Team12:
Madam, anything liquid is not allowed oooo. Even if u dont check it in and you put it in your back pack, the scanner will detect it, and since its alcohol, u wont be allowed to drink it before boarding. They will just seize d thing.
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by TheBae: 8:20am On Jul 27, 2015
You're not sponsoring yourself so you don't need to show them that especially if you're young. Your case is quite simple, similar to mine, except that I'm resuming in September. Dont add any unnecessary document. I didn't even write SOP but if you feel the need to, inform them that you graduated in 2014 (I presume) and just finished a 1yr voluntary service to your country (nysc). In fact you should apply before POP, and just put Nysc as your occupation when filling your forms, simple and short. That's what I did. That'll be better. Goodluck, pray for grace and favour.
secondborn:
Good morning, I need help from the gurus in d house. Am a batch c Corp member serving in Ogun state. And to pop by october. I already got an offer from an institution in Ontario for a postgraduate degree in business. Though am yet to pay the required semester tuition. I like to apply for my TRV by August ahead of January resumption but am trying to gather necessary documents as required.
My worry now is dat, I am yet to have any post graduate working experience aside my NYSC. How can I go about it when writing my SOP and also as we all know the allawee for Corp member is 19800 and it is almost spent per month. Do I still.need to print my bank statement with such amount. My family tie is ok, my sponsor spa is over 10M, please help is needed plz.

There might be a new VAC there, doesn't really change anything does it? If you're in ABJ do it there. Abi what else? Just go and confirm that the place is authentic first and come back to let our ABJ people here know. Lol
Caleycash:
guys I saw this on naijajist is it real?... “Anyone wishing to apply for a visitor visa, study
permit, work permit or permanent resident travel
document is encouraged to use the new Abuja VAC
located at Silverbird Entertainment Centre, Plot
1161, Memorial Drive,2nd Floor, Central Business
District, Abuja,” the statement added.
The center is equipped to take visa applicants’
biometrics.
