If you submitted via paper route, it will come with your package. Don't worry. If you don't see it in the package when you collect it, then be worried. topebamidele: Hello House, I submitted my passport request last Friday (24th July), and got Application approval update on my CIC account on 28th July. Since I didnt get any POE letter or message to come pick up my passport, I tracked on VFS site this morning and saw "Visa application, tracking ID No.201506xxCALASTUxxxx – Your processed passport is ready for collection , on 28/07/2015 at the Canada Visa Application Centre. To know more, please call VAC helpline number or visit VAC website"
Does that mean my passport is ready for collection? What about the POE letter that I'm yet to receive, will it come with it, or should I wait till the normal message is sent? I'm not in Lagos, and will be travelling down for it. Kindly urgently advise on what needs to be done. Thanks |

You're right but to be honest this money lodgement thing isn't really a big deal as long as there's a good flow of cash in and out of the account and the credit is more that the debit transactions. My sponsor statement showed that almost 100% of the money in the account was dropped in there just a week before I printed it to apply and I didn't have to explain that to anyone. Good inflow is key. I stand to be corrected sha as all cases are unique TempusQ: IMO Use the loan to pay for your full tuition and accommodation... Include the receipt for both in your TRV application... How much does your sponsor has in his account? He should then state that (he's already paid for your tuition and accommodation) in his affidavit of support... Then, pledge additional 1million naira for your remaining expenses.
With this, you don't have to explain yourself about lodgement nor loan, because after using your account to make all this payments, your SOA ending balance will appear normal. ALSO To cover your tracks, don't let the loan enter your account direct, It should enter your sponsor's account (hope your brother won't mess with it), Your sponsor will then transfer it to your account (which you'll use in paying for your tuition & accommodation), So that, while going through your statement if they notice the amount that entered your account on a particular day, They'll understand it came from your sponsor (your sponsor should use his full name in making the deposit). Immediately after printing your brother's SOA, wire your remaining cash back to your own account to avoid story for the gods.
Please don't mind my thoughts if it don't seem good enough.
I bow to be corrected by the gurus |

Do you know anybody in Canada that can help you make the request? If the person can't pay from his/her account you want to use your paypal account, you might have to give the person your details. As hayq said, @tnuola know more about gcms. I've never requested for one before. CHERIPH: Thebae, hayqinsbFX,, I browsed through the site, it states that only a citizen or permanent resident or anyone in Canada can make a request. how can I go about that. though I want pay via credit or paypal. please advice |

Hello, Has anyone on this thread had to "open" their card so that it can be used abroad? Diamond, Union and Ecobank are telling me that they have to put a magnetic stripe before it can work in countries like Canada and China. Has anyone done that before or is it unnecessary? All Mastercards |

Good looking out bro. Informing the bank is sufficient, it's a new development to reduce fraud! According to Union and Diamond. Cheers TempusQ: I do get such notification from my bank too. She's been up to date with the recent restriction changes since this year. It happened yesterday and that's her first time of withdrawing for the day. The recent ban is not even my problem for now, just for those leaving soon to know how to package themselves. I hope they've seen my post, it now left for them to confirm it before leaving, for their own good @TheBae and others
Have a blissful day!!! |

I'm not sure but I think the VO isn't sure about the authenticity of her offer, maybe for some weird reasons, they were not able to confirm from the school that she was admitted. Those 2 reason being ticked together alone is a bit strange for an applicant going for an 8-month program. We can only speculate. Her gcms file is the only thing that can tell you what really happened. So defer her admission first please @CHERIPH hayqinsbFX: I didn't see that..
Well, she sud use Herr hometie to her advantage....write a compelling SOP.
Or better still r equuest for he GCMs file before she reapplies next for january. That wud clear all doubts |

Yeah, that's why I said some people get it before or after and if one doesn't get it, one has to find a way to get it. I guess that's easier for you online router, for paper, one has to email them to complain about that Team12: I did not get my POE letter attached to an email. "You can study in Canada without a study permit if: the duration of your course or program of study is six months or less; and you will complete your course or studies within the time you are allowed to stay in Canada." That's the first thing I saw when I googled. It's from CIC websites. Gurus can answer your other questions tiredof9ja: Good evening good people of nairaland. I have already got myself into the hand of an Idiot called Agent before I found this thread through Google. Below are the summary of my situation: The so called Agent introduced to me a Three (3) Months Training Program which is schedule to hold in Ontario Canada between 7th of September, 2015 through 11th of December, 2015. Course fee and other charges already paid through him amounted to about 1.3million naira. In short we have submitted Application for Temporary Residence Visa since 30th of June, 2015 still praying and hoping for the TRV. Please I need your assistance in the following area: 1. Is there anything like study Visa in Canada below 6 months? If Yes 2. Can someone work with it? 3. Is it renewable there in Canada? Your prompt response will be appreciated God bless.. |

Lol it's not possible nah, there's only a limit to withdrawal per day. I still paid some money to a friend's account and she withdrew it to settle some things for me in Canny just last week. The only new thing is that before you travel, it is advisable to inform your bank so they can "open" your card. Got this info from Union and Diamond banks, I don't know about other banks. I'll advise that you check with you bank before leaving. TempusQ: I'm Skype now with my friend in Canada... She's even unable to do cash back... Tried withdrawing as low as $100, but to no avail... Please o, those in Maple land already should confirm it |

Travel › Re: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by TheBae: 9:33pm On Jul 28, 2015 |
Okay, well for clarity, she/he could have just say "visiting visa" instead of confusing everybody hayqinsbFX: they are all TRV...
its the permit u get at the POE thats different |
Travel › Re: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by TheBae: 9:27pm On Jul 28, 2015 |
Then it shouldn't be called TRV, it's simply a visiting visa, isn't it? The story actually is confusing hayqinsbFX: not contradicting we just have to understand as it is a rare case.
she has a valid TRV but its not meant for study, maybe some other reason.....conference, visit or business......Now she applied to study...
i think im right with her situation |
Travel › Re: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by TheBae: 9:19pm On Jul 28, 2015 |
That is what we regard as approval mail. Your POE letter is sent attached to an email. And since the first paragraph of the letter states that the visa is approved, we're simply calling it approval mail. Do you understand? What we're saying is that he/she didn't get that mail Team12: I didnt get an approval mail. My cic account status just changed to "this application has been approved". The POE letter is sufficient |
Travel › Re: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by TheBae: 7:37pm On Jul 28, 2015 |
I will advise you to go with the PGD and proceed to do your Masters afterwards. The embassy will not ask you to pay fees, it's totally optional and it doesn't guarantee TRV, it only increases your chances cos it shows you're committee charles316: Hi,I am also in the same situation. I have been given admission to go for civil engineering technology (advanced diploma) in seneca and construction project management (post graduate diploma) in Conestoga college. My questions are 1. Can I get to do masters afterwards with the advanced diploma because that is my preferred option. I prefer this because it is a two year course.
2. From your replies here,it seem that it will easier to get visa with the pgd. What if the embassy ask me to pay for school fees ?

Please those already in Canada, I know someone has asked this question in the past but what documents will I need at the POE. I never got my admission package so I'm abit worried. I contacted my school and they sent the following documents via email: 1). Acceptance letter 2). Welcome letter from the dean 3). Data Form 4). Enrolment Verification Letter And I have my receipts and telex copy + visa approval letter from CIC. Do you think there's anything else that may be in a typical admission package that isn't listed above? Thanks |
