You're very welcome grin kiss
donhuko:
Thanks a lot for the info. You're really a bae
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by TheBae: 7:48am On Jul 27, 2015
I swear I saw this on travelstart and then it disappeared completely! Thank God you mentioned it, it's the best option for me coos I can quickly enter UK to shop! Went to Virgin office in Maryland but it's like they're no longer there. Which of these sites exactly did you book on?
ayooluwatoni:
Yes o, going to MUN! I'm guessing you're also going to MUN! Check www.flyfar.ca or www.momondos.com or www.priceline.com or use TripAdvisor app. It's a connecting flight (Virgin Atlantic and Air Canada) with abt a 20hrs stop at Heathrow (UK).
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by TheBae: 8:49pm On Jul 26, 2015
Just look for a co-sponsor and don't complicate things for yourself.
It doesn't have to be a blood relative. I don't think anyone here would advise you to lie to CIC. Except you have like 15 siblings. Lol. But seriously, look for an uncle/aunty or your parents' friend to act as co-sponsor. Goodluck
Godymn:
Was just thinking....Whats the implication if you only state that your the only child or mayb you state you and one of your sibling?
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by TheBae: 6:24pm On Jul 26, 2015
Lol it happens like that sometimes. Just the way prices change depending on the time you check it and the dates you search for. When one is searching for cheaper tickets, one has to search all possible options, you never know.
ayooluwatoni:
People wonders won't end oooo! I searched for a one-way flight to Saint John's, NL and I got the cheapest for 303k, so I decided to check a return ticket with the same parameters o (date and airport), and I got the cheapest for 280k. I know you won't believe so I'm attaching the sceen shots here.....
So my advise, even if you don't plan to return, check for prices for both return ticket and one way ticket
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by TheBae: 6:16pm On Jul 26, 2015
You've started with all these your unconfirmed facts.
Some get the mail long before status changes to "dispatched".
When you're not sure of something, there's nothing wrong with indicating that you're not sure. Enjoy the rest of your day wink
hayqinsbFX:
There's nothing to be certain or uncertain of.
They must have gone to vfs after dey tracked and saw dispatched and didn't wait to get a mail.
If u get that mail ur passport is in lagos...
Shikena.
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by TheBae: 5:45pm On Jul 26, 2015
You are correct. If he doesn't plan to come back within a year, he should definitely get one-way
Gu2015:
yea,Bt why buy return ticket if u don't plan to come back to Nigeria in d next 1 year.cus d ticket is valid for only a year...I stand to b corrected.
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by TheBae: 5:35pm On Jul 26, 2015
Yes, so you can just look at your program schedule and try to determine when you'll be on break and when you'll like to come visiting. You can pay 15k extra to be able to adjust your return date if plans change
ayooluwatoni:
That's another point anyway, most times the diff is always btw 50k and 100k
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by TheBae: 5:30pm On Jul 26, 2015
Lol you can go with a one-way ticket but it may not be economical in the long run
ayooluwatoni:
Wow! This is interesting! Are you in Canada already? Did you go with a one way? Why me con dey find return tickethuh Like say bomb dey my head....lol. pls reply ASAP
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by TheBae: 5:24pm On Jul 26, 2015
Some people on this forum received mails and went to vfs to get their documents and they were told it hadn't arrived. That's why they say wait 3-4 days after the dispatch or mail before going to vfs. You know people's cases are different so you can't really be certain.
hayqinsbFX:
No ma..
I'm talking from experience...
Those people no sabi english..

For u to recieve a mail it means it's in lagos...they won't send u a mail the day it leaves accra..ull only know if u track constantly..
I recieved d same mail when I collected my docs too...I first tot the doc just left accra...only for me to get to vfs and sw my docs..
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by TheBae: 5:09pm On Jul 26, 2015
$26000CAD is about 4.5M (for just 1 year) and your sponsor had about 5M in his account. That's an issue because they know he can't empty his account for you. + when did you finish high school and what have you been doing since then? What work have you been involved in and what course are you going for?
teana4040:
Am going for UG,my tuition was 14,200CAD, annual.living expenses was 10,000CAD.. my sponsor stated in his letter that 26,000CAD wld be available to me for my study yearly
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by TheBae: 5:06pm On Jul 26, 2015
Dipatched on the 13th means dispatched on the 13th, there's no tinko tinko there. There's no way she would have known. Ghana is just a couple of hours away so it's possible for it to have gotten to vfs the next day.
hayqinsbFX:
From what u wrote here, u sud have sensed a delay...
Because receiving a maill on the 13th of july means your pp left accra on the 8th(5days before) a day that coincides with the day you did medicals....your medicals weren't recieved b4 dey dispatched....
That doesn't matter now though...
Get yourself together aand make a decision as it would be very hear breaking right now...
All d best in whatever decision you make...May the Lord guide you
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by TheBae: 5:02pm On Jul 26, 2015
Lmao! What makes you think I can't forge a certificate? Lol
ayooluwatoni:
Transgender or female from birth? Because Linda Ikeji just advised us to ask for birth certificate before believing ppl's gender.....lol! Sorry for the mix up
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by TheBae: 3:56pm On Jul 26, 2015
Wow. Sorry about that. Kindly list your documents so that the loopholes can be identified asap.
Wait, you were delayed after you did medicals?? Just went through your posts. That is so messed up! Please don't be discouraged.

Updated**
teana4040:
Hello all....received my application via courier yesterday.then i get to see that i was delayed,i feel so terrible oo...everything was returned intact...and they ticked d following factors were ticked.

How do i tackle...am so confused right now
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by TheBae: 3:54pm On Jul 26, 2015
We can't really tell. Online used to be faster, then paper overtook and now they seem to be moving at the same pace. I will personally suggest you apply via paper route.
grabeconnie:
Which one is the fastest, easiest, and safest?
Online application or Paper application?
I will be applying for January 2016.
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by TheBae: 3:53pm On Jul 26, 2015
Lol they'll likely send the intro mail first but if they don't, they'll send it afterwards. Lol I'm a lady embarassed
ayooluwatoni:
Bros I prefer letter of intro abeg.....I no wan see the dispatch letter....lol grin
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by TheBae: 3:51pm On Jul 26, 2015
Okay thanks for the info
Snappyfingaz:
Most people use Voip apps when calling naija. Telbo was 2.5c/minute just a few months ago but cost 4c/minute now. That's what I use. There are other apps like Rebtel and others. Some offer free credits or points when you visit ads on the app. Viber and Skype also comes in handy.
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by TheBae:
Theres no way to check oh, you just have to wait till you get you letter of introduction or dispatch update on vfs site
ayooluwatoni:
Paper route, I can't tell. Or is there a way I could check for paper route?
Thanks jare
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by TheBae: 2:31pm On Jul 26, 2015
It'll still come, Cocolav got her update 1 week before me and we did medicals on the same day. You'll be fine
justicia:

TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by TheBae:
Get the so-called agent arrested. He's so shady!
@Princepoldi
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by TheBae: 11:13am On Jul 26, 2015
Alright. The Internet apps are definitely the way forward. Thanks smiley
IyaEjima:
Not sure of the answer to ur question as I don't knw the tariff plans for other networks.. My network (Fido) charges me 5cents per minute to naija, plus most long distance calls I make are made via Internet-based applications.. Hoping @Siga, @Onyeoma3, @Pchax and others see this soon and respond.
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by TheBae: 9:49am On Jul 26, 2015
Okay, so which network favours calls to Africa? Lebara-type of network for Canada.
IyaEjima:
Nope, Canada-wide
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by TheBae: 8:48am On Jul 26, 2015
Please leave at least 10-12 weeks allowance between the date you apply and the date you want to go. No one can predict the fastest route or how long it will the take. It can take 3weeks, 5weeks, 8weeks or even 10weeks to get your passport back in your hands. So apply early. Applying late is absolutely not advisable but can work out eventually. You can defer your admission if your documents aren't ready by September/October since enrolment starts in December
donhuko:
I have admission for Winter session (January start),University of Toronto. Please, I need urgent information on how long it will take to process my student visa. What is the fastest means to go about this ??. Will I be able to meet up the deadline for enrollment (tentatively December) ??.
And if I fail to do so, wats the possible alternatives to retain the admission and enroll later.
Thanks for your kind assistance.

Lmfao! We can still see the the edited post! tongue
GboyegaD:
I guess I was just impatient. I will edit my post asap.
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by TheBae: 8:37am On Jul 26, 2015
Please does the unlimited night and weekend call plan apply to calls to Nigeria as well?
GboyegaD:
I think any Samsung Galaxy phone is fine. I still use my MTN till date. As for plans, IMO, Koodo has the most reasonable student plan. I think it is $34 monthly with 300 daytime calls, unlimited night and weekend calls, and 50mb of data. You could also use Wind if it is strong around your location.
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by TheBae: 8:34am On Jul 26, 2015
You can take it in, they might not notice but if they notice there just might be a little problem because I noticed that they didn't list the ingredients on the origin can or bottle. But they most likely won't notice anyway
dahjor:
Please how about Orijin?
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by TheBae: 8:26am On Jul 26, 2015
I just don't understand these people sometimes. This thing is so straightforward. It has been broken down many times on this thread, I don't know why it's so difficult to just Google something with "nairaland" or "cic" at the end of it. People should please make an effort to find out stuff before asking such basic questions continuously.
TempusQ:
Oga sorry, but, I can't help it.
Check the damn site!!!
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by TheBae: 8:19am On Jul 26, 2015
I think they will accept that but I believe the problem is the fact that it's a company account and it's an individual and not the company that is sponsoring him or her. Company accounts can be quite controversial for visa applications generally. I'm not so sure though but please let him just use his personal SOA if he has enough money there. Goodluck
ayooluwatoni:
Although visa refusals are not so good....but not to worry so much about that, as there's nothing impossible for God! Had two rejections, before applying for US visa, yet had my US visa.
The major challenge I foresee is your sponsor. I think (not sure though) funds that would be available for your studies should either be in your Country of residence or the country you intend going. I doubt if Canada embassy will accept a statement from the US, I so much doubt it, but you can ask THE ELDERS in this room. You can just get someone here in Naija with a fat account to claim your uncle or aunt.......and provide you with SoA.

Emirates is always on point. Delta too try

This might help also... You can have small money for your stopover. Mine is Amsterdam, and I intend to buy about 20/30 Euro

TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by TheBae: 7:17pm On Jul 25, 2015

TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by TheBae: 7:14pm On Jul 25, 2015
Nope, they can't do that. It's allowed
Crich:
I never knew it's allowed. Very nice then. Hope they won't trash it at Lagos airport sha? U know our over zealous people.
