If you have another option, some might advise that you do not use this account cos of money lodgement but if there's no other choice, by all means go ahead. You can add a co-sponsor just in case. My sponsor added a larger sum to his account just a week before he printed the SOA and there were no receipts to verify the transaction. There's a lot of God factor in this. Pray hard all day everyday. gabrola: bros uhm d 4.1m was in ur sponsor's account for how many months b4 u printed d soa? my sponsor av 4.8m but d money just recently came in. tho he had 24m inflow and 19m out flow, im afraid to use d account. |

Exactly what I thought when I was reading through the argument. They probably print everything out... montrealer: But that's because you're assuming they read the file on the computer. They probably download and print off each application before assessing it; which amounts to the same thing |

Round trip is cheaper on the long run. You can choose a flexi-date ticket for an additional fee so you can change your return date whenever you like I stand to be corrected kennykentipsy: quick one here
please would booking a round trip be cheaper than one way? |

Lol eya! Please why is autocorrect changing Edikaikong to Edikakong? Lol. Anyway, I'm sure you're surviving well without it. Now everyone knows the secret pathway to your heart. Yam and Edikaikong Solo8: Hahaha. I'm was born in PH and my parents are Igbo. I got yams in my veins...lol.
The thing I miss the most cause I haven't had since I was a kid is edikakong soup with periwinkle and snails. I don't even know where to find periwinkle or know how to cook it, I didn't have the time to find it when I was in naija last yr. |

That's a good idea. @team16 that's a great tip for you GboyegaD: They get more than enough that sometimes they don't read all. A good strategy is to copy the graduate program director and administrator. They can help pushfor the professor to read your nails. |

Lmao! Are we still talking about yams? How passionate. Nawa Solo8: Haha I do. It's hard to find really good yams, I don't even think you can get those here. You know the type only mothers can pick. They sell medium sized average tasting yams for 15 to 20 bucks here. |

Aha! So see who has the trust issues now Solo8: I actually do shop on eBay quite a bit but never for clothes, I just don't see why risk buying clothes you haven't seen, touched or tried on. However I do buy clothes online from Canadian retailers, shops like roots, old navy, the bay, Adidas,Etc....I usually have been in their stores and know what to expect. I use mostly for tech items from the states or very rarely from England.
You can find most of the food items you mentioned but for reason, they can't just seem to get garri right. Most people just buy the pounded yam powder but I like garri. |

But the weight of the yams though! Lol You must reallyyyyy love yam. Solo8: I'm not sure if you're allowed or not to be honest but I've brought it a couple of times and they haven't stopped me. If they ever do, Ill throw it out. |

Yeah I get it, that's why I only got the ones I saw on sale on online stores I trust. It's not really a big deal. Some of us get cold if it rains in Nigeria talk more of travelling anytime after August so it'll definitely come in handy right from the first day there. montrealer: True, they could come in handy. I guess what Saxywale is trying to say though is: don't waste money buying seemingly thick and heavy jackets...they'll cost you money, take up your baggage space, and might not be very effective here. So if you've one lying around or find one that is not too pricey or heavy, by all means take it but don't go all out trying to shop for it there.
There are even some projects organized by schools here to give free used winter jackets to new international students, so it's better not to stress too much about it in naija. |

Travel › Re: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by TheBae: 3:02pm On Jul 06, 2015 |
I understand that but for those of us who aren't used to cold, the winter jackets we's coming with would be very useful during the fall season don't you think? There's not harm in having 2/3 mild winter jackets that will keep you warm and then when the ogbologbo Canada winter comes, we can go ahead to get the ones made for Canada winter. I don't think anybody coming from Nigeria would waste any jacket, mild or thick. If it's too mild, we can use it as "singlet" and wear another one on top of it saxywale: UK winter is very mild and you would end up throwing them in the dustbin once the Canadian winter hits you. I threw mine in the dustbin. Don't waste your money
You could buy summer clothes from the UK. Compared to the UK, clothing accessories, shoes, watches e.t.c are expensive in Canada and their quality are not so good except you can afford to spend much more than the price you should ideally get them for in the UK. Ebay is also almost non-existent here. Do not buy winter stuff from the UK for the same reasons I gave to toboy above. . |

I agree but it's pretty obvious that paper is now a bit faster than online route. There are exceptional cases of course Bobola86: I respectfully disagree. You can't say one is faster than the other. You guys should have in mind that judging based on peeps you know here is wrong. Registered users here might just be a minority out of all the applicants from Nigeria cos most of my friends that applies knows nothing about this thread. Just to buttress my point, a friend got his medical request mail today and he applied on the 8th of June. Online route of course! |

Mount Saint Vincent Uni for Master of Public Relations. It's a non-thesis program but they still assigned me a supervisor Team16: I think it's dependent on department and school. If they get high volumes of application, it might be difficult for them to decide. But which school and what department did you apply to. @solo8 please do you have any input on this supervisor issues. |

We'll see about that . Actually my family there encourage me not to come shop there. They shop only when they travel to UK. If I may ask, where in Canada do you reside? Solo8: Haha. It's your trust issues then. We'll see how you feel when your leaving here. |

Asin transcript. I requested 3 transcripts just for 1 application. The school, WES and then embassy. 18k each. Really frustrating. The problem with US is the GRE or GMAT that people are running away from. If you have any of those, you're good to go. Goodluck Fablady: Thanks. I am not into oil sands but I tried contacting someone researching oil sands and a bit of what I do. But no response yet. I actually think US profs are better. I wasn't thinking of looking that way until now. But 2 of 3 I emailed responded and encouraged me to apply. So if Canada fails ( I will explore all my options once again), then I will try US for next year. I am so vexed after spending all my money sending original transcripts. SMH! And it's so hard getting them foreign profs to write you reference letters. |

Firstly, it all depends on when and where in the UK you are shopping Secondly, in summertime obviously, winter clothes and footwear are cheaper. So since I'm not currently in the UK or Canada and I can ship them down to Nigeria relatively cheap, why not? I'm sure you know that this is the season for massive UK sales. Eg You'll see winter items originally sold for £100 now selling for £50 so why not take advantage of it. I personally prefer some particular affordable and quality brands in the UK, I can't really gamble with stuff that I'm not familiar with in Canada. I've got trust issues. Lol Solo8: Sorry, I'm not sure what you mean. What makes sense?. Nobody buys clothes from the UK here because they are so cheap and the shipping is not worth it. Sometimes if I'm in Niagara I go to Buffalo(US) and buy them for cheaper and just drive across with them. My sister chose to live in niaja for the last 2 yrs, she does most of her clothes and shoes shopping when she comes to Canada. It's simply cheaper for the quality. Some of my relatives even get my lady to buy clothes for them throughout the yr when they are on sale and when they come to visit, they just take a whole luggage back to naija for themselves. |

Mine was even assigned to me by my department. So I wonder what the problem is sef. Team16: That is the most annoying part, I don't know if they receive them, they keep them and wait for others to come. When it's about time, they will now select the best amongst all cos am wondering why they don't reply. From my experience, the ones I've mailed. Few replied that they don't have space and others are yet to reply if there's space or not hence my guess. It's a guess not a fact. So i think if they've not replied is because they are still considering your application. I enquired from the graduate assistant n she said it ranges from 1 month to 1year. So i think if they've not replied it means it's still under consideration. The ones with quick responses might not have space. @all IMO |

What charges? Shipping is just £3.80 per kg which is relatively cheap. Can't be dashing Canada money when i can order from here during sales period without paying big tax. Lol i sound like an extreme cheapskate kennykentipsy: haaa pele and other lil charges would still apply apart from the amount paid |

I'm serious about not buying $150 boots. Actually, it makes the most sense because I got some pretty good brand ones on summer sale online for less than £40. Prices will go back up before fall. Shipping from the UK is pretty cheap, also I can bring them without having extra luggage. I put all that into consideration. Solo8: I'm not sure if you are joking or serious but you can find affordable clothing here. Buying winter clothes in naija and coming here will make no sense and you'll end up paying more. You can find winter boots for less than 100 bucks, you just gotta shop around at the right time. If you want designer boots you'll have to pay more. I found winter boots for 40 bucks 3 yrs ago. Bought another for 120 last winter. |
