When you develop your guts/instinct, you will spot a brandable name at once. I dont coin names, only did that when I started. Hempdiblesdotcom and one other name that is listed on SH. I let hempdibles to drop. I didnt renew it. Hemp + edibles

I scan through alot of names on ED, so once i spot a brandable name, I add it to my watchlist. when i am done going through all my keyword search, I begin to vet my watchlist starting with google search to see what comes up, then wayback machine, marketplace search, namebio etc

If the names scales through all of this, I proceed to submit to SH

Some persons have a pattern, some they just discovered a keyword and they want to milk it to the fullest extent.

We are all competitors in this business so sometimes you dont reveal all your cards.

There are always exceptions, so if you fall in the full disclosure group, by all means share here.

In my book i used some of my SH names as example, thats because that was a closed circle.

Just a suggestion; people could post their recently published SH names here. Although I've seen some people hiding accepted names already so I'm not sure how viable that is.

Everyone has a style, if displaying your portfolio is your thing go ahead, if it isnt, then dont

eg its not my style to report sales or even reveal the name. the 1 out of 2 times i revealed name here, one of the name got sold and someone make the connection. now the name was sold under installment and left for me, i would have mentioned it after payment was complete.

When a buyer buys a name on Squadhelp on installment plans, he has 10days to reject and get his money back same for outright purchase but i dont know the number of days.

In domaining, your sale is not complete until the money is in your account, there are so many things that happen between buyer making payments and you receiving funds. industry practice is not to reveal names until funds hit your account.

I once gave this advice and the wolves came for me, the seller had not recieved funds but he had revealed name and price on an open forum. I adviced against it and it was slaughtered, my offence was that i was discouraging sales report

I have said it several times that i dont do appraisal but i find myself going back on those words.

Domaining has checklist and you try as much as possible to get everything ticked but there are times the enduser doesnt care or know about the checklist. Those circumstances are less than when compared with endusers who follow the checklist.

So there will always be bad names that will sell.

I can see some persons here do not value appraisals given here and they feel its show off when names are written off.

This is one of the reason why i said No appraisal, because should the name sell, you are seen as a bad person especially if the person did not register the name as a result of your appraisal.

On Point 1 & 2 I get you but your stance is as a result of what you think a brandable name is. As softmojo pointed out, the name is limiting to the insurance niche not even finance. it does not have a broad usage. You need more info on what a brandable name is.

It doesnt mean the name cannot sell but it is not a brandable name and as such, the possibility of a brandable marketplaces accepting it is very low. eg That it is 2 english keyword does not make it brandable.


On Point 3 You are correct about SH article on being unique. but the fact that the keyword is non existent on SH, BB and BP. That should tell you that something is off. Then Namebio does not have any records of the keyword in any position in a word ever selling should also tell you something.

At the bolded, good intentions about your rationale but it limits the usage. what comes to my mind when i see the name is a scheme by the company where you make part payment of the insurance, then another person or persons/company makes the other part. what if the said company offers other kinds of services or insurance plan that is not a joint thing? The reason we advocate reading from Page 1 is that all manner of questions have been asked and answered with experiences of different individual shared over time. you cant get such knowledge from elsewhere. Even if you decide to scavenge the internet, the info will be scatter everywhere bits and pieces.
