I just revieved a preapproval mail for a name that was rejected but appealed since April 23rd.

Appeals takes time on SH but you have noting to loose. Go through your rejected names & appeal the ones that stand out to you.

To go into brandable, you need to know what they are & how to form/coin them. You dont just start throwing names at SH.

its Ok to start from somewhere but there are pathfinders:men who threw names at brandable marketplaces, studied & became better at it with time.

its best you follow them rather than going through the school of hard knocks.

My ebooks are available, beckplanet tutorial is on the forum. After these you will develop a sixth sense for brandables

The time you spend on research everyday is none of my business. Questions are allowed and when you are told that it has been answered, you go look for it or give thanks when answered again. you dont go on a defense spree. someone pointed it to you that it had been answered, you went on an epistle on why you werent asking for question sake.

When I ask questions, I make sure there are questions that haven't been asked before or has a new angle to it so that all of us can learn from the answer. I could have easily ask some of my ogas here via email if I want to but others might not learn from it, so I ask it here on the thread.

Your question came in 2:21am the next day! As at 7:15pm next day, you were still defending yourself after possible explanation had been given.

Someone quoted me thinking I didn't read something well and I quoted the person back, letting the person know what I meant.

I asked for the initial selling price and not the amount they finally agreed to, which is $850.

Except the domain name was listed on DAN with a make offer, there would be a price attached to it.

D Op said he negotiated the price to $850 and I wanted to know how much he initially listed the name for. Was it $2000, $1500, $3000 or what?

I haven't been paid for the name I sold last because the buyer insisted on transfer. So i will have to wait for the 60days lock to expire. Then i can share more details about that transaction

Not when you have money. Take it as a manual, your go to guide. from time to time, you read it especially areas that werent so clear to you.

Dont wait until you have money. When money comes and you start making reference to the book, you will be acting under pressure.

Boss, sometimes your response are always too harsh. The responses they gave weren't that bad. Most times, when you get a response like that, it just shows the end user isn't a serious person and the best thing to do is to ignore and move on.

please my fellow domainers learn from my heart break and pains.hmmmmm i took out lots of hours from friday,saturday and sunday to formulate 5 good trending names that would have earn me some good $$$s .so i check all names and they were all available since there was no cash in my card .and expecting cash today monday so i decided to wait for monday.as i check this monday morning they have all been registered ,i only check their availability oooh nothing else, hmmmm sad morning for me.please if you are not with ready cash in your card or paypal keep your name till you do.i only check with dynadot.dont be a victim learn from my mistake.bless and have a fruitful week to all domainers.

I have been using Dynadot, namesilo even godaddy appraisal to check unregistered names.

Yes some of my names gets registered while on queue on SH & BB. its not theft because you are not the only domainer using same metrics.

You will always loose names if you dont register them immediately. This doesnt mean you go on a registration spree, due diligence should be performed even if it means loosing some names in the process.


One thing experience has taught me is there will always be good names to register. loosing some today isnt the end even though painful.

If you feel your names are being snapped, use whois to check

If someone reaches out and complains of being called a domain squatter or that his price was too high, the 1st question i will ask is what is the name and what price did you quote?

I dont assume the enduser is not knowledgeable about domain or that the enduser is stingy and doesnt want to spend on domains.


But in this thread, Men of timber and caliber, will advice the person to move on, some will even suggest that they increase the price more WITHOUT knowing the domain in question or the price that was quoted.

Your experience with some end users doesn't translate to mean everyone will have same experience.

You don't know the name he was selling, you don't know type of name, you assumed it was Geo or what it was based on your experience but forgot that there is a possibility that it can be something else. With the answer you gave, he and other newbie might think that any enduser who accuses them of domain squatting is not interested in their domain not knowing that it could be something more serious

I see same pattern in appraisal, someone asks a question as to price of domain without stating name of domain, category and you see Seers telling them what to do without asking basic question that will lead to an informed decision.

Well, the thread has established sales is much more important, so what do I know

For those asking for apprasial, know this

There is detailed analysis/search & there is top of the head.

Top of my head is looking at the name & running it through my head against some checklist like word placement, length, extension, meaning & how the name sounds.

Based on this I can pass or fail a name.

Detailed search is to see if the keyword is selling, check past sales, in what position did the keyword sell, as first or last word, comparable domains sold, no of TLD registered in, Wayback records, Dates of previous registration.

A detailed search can pass a previously failed appraisal based on top of the head & vice versa


So you see apprasial is work, someone sent me close to 40names to appraise on whatsapp! Even 5 is work

Just have this at the back of your mind when asking for apprasial. Its not a light switch you flip or crystal ball you gaze into. Na work

There's no evil in trying to register yourself and submit since you've done your due diligence.

If SH doesn't approve it, you can list it on afternic and others. More so, check for trademark.

In addition, most companies using country TLD eg co.uk, .de, etc dont use .com

Do your due diligence very well especially if that company does not have a global presence.

Why will a company servicing germans only have a .com? .de will be enough

You got it wrong, You will burn out that way. Find a trusted mentor & share such names before you register.

Did you start from page 1?

Push is done within same registrar, Porkbun to Porkbun, Godaddy to Godaddy

Transfer is done between registrar, Porkbun to Godaddy, Namesilo to Dynadot

If a domain is less than 60days, you are left with the option of push, If and only if the buyer is willing to accept a push(that means he has to go register an account where the domain is domiciled else you wait)

If he is willing to accept a push, then you can push to the marketplace account with that registrar(the marketplace will instruct you to do so)

I already dropped alot of the tips in my brandable guide that all points to that, but the issue is that most people tend to skip the basics and want to jump to short cuts, i equally dropped alot of keywords in same guide here all free of charge but i noticed alot of people ain't reading anything at all nor willing to research and do their homework, having the right knowledge is all you need to figure out what good names to search for, even in my recent post I explicitly explained that I try to keep names short as possible, meaning for Brandable Names search all you need to do is apply those basic keywords i and many other persons have dropped here in the expireddomains filter and simply reduce the maximum word to what you fill is short number/amount of words needed to search for which in my opinion is between 8-12 letters and again i explained in my research posts and even in the old posts that for 2 keywords i don't let them exceed 12 characters which again translate to Applying keywords of your choices (from all the brandable keywords dropped in this thread, again by me and so many others) in the Ed filter and not letting it exceed 12 characters as the max number of words needed in a particular search. That's all you need to do, there's no magic in it and no special Instagram filters needed to apply in it to guarantee a treasure island of good names, once you do this basics you still need to search and search and search for hours to find the names you feel are Ok, again brandable name is all about instinct and your feelings, what looks right for Mr A might be bang average or absolute crap in Mr B's opinion "Hence it is Subjective", no good names are in anywhere waiting for you to just press some buttons to unlock, it's all hardwork and Good knowledge and if you miss the good knowledge part, even if you're given aftermarket names at free of charge to choose from, you won't still figure out what is good fit because you Lack the knowledge. Again people are not ready to read in between the lines at all and ain't ready to do some research. Even after so much explanations and guides.

Even with optimized search parameters on ED, you will still spend hours going through name, just that with the optimized settings you will eliminate bad names and streamline your result. There must be constant reading, exploring and tweaking.

The last $900 sale I posted was a result of the tweak I did.

FYI using keyword filter can be limiting but its a good place to start, you can always save that setting and also another one without keywords.

Someone posted Swifthomedelivery, Iwould never have seen such name because my parameter would have filtered it out. so have different saved searches with different parameters BUT you must be focused, not jumping from one strategy to another. Dont have too many saved patterns at a time because it can be overwhelming. Save the ones you know you can comfortably search through, after a while you tweak and make adjustment, then continue

It is my opinion that when people post sales report, they should equally state how many names they have in their portfolio, it will help tame expectations.

The guy making a killing on NP for .co extentions has alot of such names and some of these extensions are premuim registration fee(some $25, $100 etc)

Stick with .com for now

Sometimes it's hard to tell. I currently have 3 names in the brandable market that I bought in auction 300k currently tied down 2 years now with no sale. Buying names at auction requires deep pocket and patience. Now I've decided to slap 3 more years of renewal on them and forget it. If it doesn't sell I count my loss.

I will explain the concept of sales(end user or domain investor/domainer) much later.

Everything boils down to what you want & your objective. I am sure if you put those names up for domainer price, it will be bought instantly.

I bought a 4l word for $350, its still gathering dust on BB(though its less than 1yr). I have given BB the required 30days notification to delist it because i want to list it on SH(due to SEDO & AFTERNIC)

Cost Price $350 = N140,000(using 400 as exchange rate)

If I decide not to wait but sell at $600=N240,000
I can easily sell it for this amount.

My profit will be N100k,which is not bad.

I dont view my profit in Dollar, I view it in Naira.
