Well, this is the usual ' Christians are better than Muslims' thread without saying so, but to answer the question

1. Atheists are everywhere,but you tend to hear more from atheists in the western world because the western world has a lot of free media and also dominates the pop culture worldwide. So you tend to hear more from the Western atheists than you do from the Atheists elsewhere

2.Most Western atheists who we must remind ourselves are the loudest of the bunch were brought up as Christians, so as such they attack the religion they know. Same for the atheists in Nairaland too. Many western atheists have too limited knowledge of Islam to attack it or to criticize it.( Some atheist crticizers of Islam have to study the religion first before bashing it because they don't know much)

3. Western atheists do critique Islam. The late Christopher Hitchens is a good example.Sam Harris is another example of a prominent western atheist critical of Islam

5. Yes , atheists in Muslim countries get killed and persecuted. That has to do with the fact that Islam views it's relationship with goverment and rights differently from Christianity. And the fact that democracy and freedom of expression are relatively new concepts in the Islamic world and the thrid world for that matter ( even here in Nigeria).

Atheists also persecute religious people, ( see China's campaign against Islam in Xinjiang right now) and even in Europe, atheism was once a crime till the 19th century.

But even then there are ex atheist Muslims who do speak out against the religion.

6. Christianity is the religion or the religious background of the powerful nations in the world today..or most of them. So it gets most of the bashing. Islam is a religion practiced in underdog thrid world nations. No one loves bashing an underdog

First, I dream that we were both going to somewhere, along the way she met her ex. She rush to him and hugged him tightly...... I stood still observing her in the revelation.
