My fiance and I hv been dating for 2 years. He's doing well for himself, he's humble, he's quick to apologize even when you're at fault. He calls his mom and siblings regularly, but he don't talk to his Dad. If I ask, he would say forget about him

My fiance has been keeping malice with his father for 3 years now. I don't know what transpired between them because he would never tell me. He act like his father doesn't exist.

His mom and I do talk on phone once in a while. Yesterday I called her to wish her happy new year, we spoke well and she prayed for me. Abt 10 mins later she called back, but this time she was crying, She explained how his son has not been talking to his Father, she said this year 2022 would make it 3 years, she said they have called elders and pastors to talk to him but all to no avail. She said It would be her greatest joy if I also help her talk to him since he loves me so much. We were on the phone for over 45min.

Nairalanders, he's coming to seek my hand in marriage by March but I'm scared and here are my reasons. 1) His he pretending to be nice to me 2) what if we have little misunderstanding when we get married will he forgive me or keep malice with me for years

I was so angry at him, I told him that I'm giving him now till month end to reconcile every conflict or dispute he has with his father else I'm calling our relationship a quit, because this character seems to be a redflag to me. He started begging me, he said I don't understand yet he's not telling me anything.

I'm really confused. Please help a sister.

You are going to risk the continuity of your 2 year old relationship with a man you are satisfied with because of another man that you don't know, have never met or interacted with??

Hmmm. In the health field, interest without capacity is dangerous. A nursing program isn't like a regular university university program where carryovers or extra year is the worst thing that can happen.

It's very intensive academically and you will need to develop your own understanding of science well.

I recommend that you speak to someone who has done it and finished it successfully ( School of Nursing) before you embark on this journey and ask all necessary Questions

I doubt this they won't pay you, the real ones that pays will give you few or very hard task to do, and the pay will be small per task, even that 25 dollars as signing in bonus is too much na, 25 dollars no be 25 naira, even in naira sef, imagine 1000 people signing in per sec, that's 25,000 dollars, now do the maths for 10,000 people and so on, even if it's in naira sef, that's a huge loss, because you might end up paying out more than you got... I used to share the same opinion as hers until some years ago when I had this discussion with an elderly Igbo man, that was when my view changed.

This man witnessed the Nigeria/Biafra civil war. In his story, before the civil war broke out his father and their entire family lived in Kaduna (the north). Their father was doing well in business and had built a comfortable home in Kaduna where they lived, but none in the village yet. After the break out of the war, they all had to hurriedly leave Kaduna at night in a 9/11 truck carrying just their clothes. When they got to the village they started living in their grand father's old house like refugees.

A once rich and comfortable family became almost homeless in their hometown. What we call "Back to square one". Even after the war, they couldn't go back to lay claim to their father's house in Kaduna because the house has been confiscated by the indigenes of that place.

This his story was also the fate of so many Igbos who lived in different parts of Nigeria pre-civil war. At that time, Igbo people settled and built houses wherever they lived. But they lost all their properties when the war broke out. Most of them never recovered their properties after the war. This is why today you see an Igbo man living in a face me I face you house somewhere in Oshodi, but owns a mansion in the village.

They learnt from experience the true meaning of "no place like home".

I know a man who was hellbent on building a mansion in his village. His children were all adults and no, it was not meant to be a family house. Note that majority of the people in the village are farmers and it's not a even a major village or something.

All his businesses, friends, hangouts, church etc are in the city.

We will ask him, Who's going to be staying there? Is it your children that are looking for how to Japa or your wife that works in the city or you? He will always respond that he knows what he is doing and we'll all see how it makes sense soon

Fast forward a few years later, all the children have moved to different parts of the world, he's retired, extended family members who contributed NOTHING to the building are the ones living there now & anytime he goes there, it's always those that need one help or the other that come visiting him
