I was sold the same cowdung about the Akwaibom people while growing up...not until I relocated to Uyo years ago did I come to the afore-explained realization.

There are countless Akwaibom males like me - I frolick with them everyday- and we are in the majority.


I do not speak with any distinctive Nigerian accent (not to mention the much maligned Akwaibom accent) and my diction is (quasi-)perfect. Same with my siblings and friends.
