Lamasta:Remember how e dey sweet you when you were lambasting the GOAT in Paris last season. This season, he is now pressing your neck... why won't I gloat? |
Pendu is wotoporiously finished. All those shouting on Rashford...Ronaldo would have scored this and that...in previous matches, where are you now? At the moment, the honest truth is that Rashford is a better player than Pendu. And currently a better scorer. Again, all those ignoramuses that screamed don't sub Ronaldo, he likes to score in dying minutes vs Newcastle & co, what is your latest excuse now? Or Westham is now stronger than Newcastle? Na only to shoot Sheriff baba know. I'm sure ETH purposely left Pendu on the pitch for 90minutes to prove a point so that when he benches him in the next match, the frustrated pendulums will not have any basis to challenge his decision. The GOAT is still scoring 30 yard screamers plus magical 55 yard assist while a finished goat-wannabe is bungling tap-ins. Rashford would have scored that.. I'm sure Gary Lineker will currently be having a blast over sulking Piers Morgan ![]() |
Kingcalls:You are right on this. Ballon D'or was basically best player playing in Europe or European footballer of the year before the merger. Although it had always been prestigious since the 1970s because it was the only popular football award existent then (Fifa world best started in 1991). In addition, the profile of the past winners i.e Cryuff, Beckhanbeur, George best, Van Basten, Platini all contributed to its prestige then. But since its inception, the Fifa World best winner was the officially recognized world best player until the merger in 2009. |
mmsen:No sire. Henry was a pure winger before Wenger like Pires and Giggs. He now changed his style similar to Mbappe. Would you say Mbappe and Raheem Sterling or Saka have the same positional play? Mbappe like Henry's style is similar to Aubameyang not a pure winger. Chief please go and learn some rudiments of football before coming to the discussion table. |
mmsen:Premium cappings. You are probably the only one in the entire footballing world who is unaware of how Arsene Wenger was publicly lauded for converting Henry from a pure winger into a lethal world class striker. This has been the subject of many documentaries and it is appalling to see you say he is unadaptable. Nothing could be further from the truth! When he left for Barca, he switched to being a winger and still outscored Eto'o in his first season despite being past his prime. You should read more sire.

iLoveYouToo:My point is, this is irrelevant. It's pointless arguing over whose stats are better between Henry in the MLS vs Eto'o in Russia, Ukraine & Turkey don't you think? Arguments on who is better should be based on player's impact in their prime in the best leagues. |
iLoveYouToo:Henry has way more goals and assists than Eto'o in the top 3 leagues (over 80G/A difference). Eto went to unknown Russian, Turkish and some unknown leagues to boost his stats while Henry simply retired after his MLS stint. Eto'o was legendary but Henry is regularly in the conversations by pundits of the greatest strikers of all time. |
engrchykae:That's the only area where Eto has made more impact than Henry but that's just only a couple of games and cannot be used solely to assess how good a player has been over hundreds of games. To use your logic, Drogba has scored in way more finals than Eto'o, yet Eto'o is clearly rated above him. If only records in finals were used, then Drogba would be even a better player than Cristiano. |
engrchykae:The Henry that Eto played with in Barca was already past his prime. He barely scored 12 goals in his last season in the EPL before moving to Barca. Eto'o cannot measure up to Henry of 2001 - 2006 especially the 2002 - 2004 version. It's like comparing Harry Kane and Pendu of this season. When you compare players you focus on their prime and longevity to be objective. |
iLoveYouToo:Fenomeno never won UCL! yet he is obviously better than Henry and Eto. That's exactly my point. And in all relevant criteria pertaining to a player, Henry surpasses Eto. Henry has won more national and club career trophies, more prestigious individual awards, has scored more goals than Eto'o in the top 3 leagues (England, Spain & Italy) in less games, has significantly way more assists, is faster, more skillful, better free-kick taker, better passer and better games influencer. So tell me, on what objective basis would you have ranked Eto better than Henry? UCL? then you'd also have to put him above Ronaldo de lima if that's the case. |
Maobichek:I was not the one comparing them. Between 02 and 06, global pundits on Espnsoccernet, Four four 2 and other renowned sport tabloids regularly compared them. Note that it was the post-2001 Ronaldo they compared him to. Pre-injury R9 was obviously on a different level to Prime Henry. So maybe Etoo is also comparing himself to post-2006 Henry. |
owobokiri:I watched Eto at his prime. Despite having Ronaldinho, Xavi, Deco and young Messi for support and playing for the best team in Spain then, he was still outscored by Valencia's David Villa and Villareal's Diego Forlan for pichichi. Put 2002 - 2004 prime Henry in that same Barca side, he would be European golden boot winner all through. |
tuzle:The 2005/06 Arsenal side that reached the final were relatively average. Viera had left. Gilberto, Pires & Berkamp were in their last year. That team was different from the invincibles. Henry mainly played with young Fabregas, Hleb, old lungberg, Gilberto & Pires in the run up to that final. |
OJEEMAH:Thanks mate |
OJEEMAH:Lol you quoted too early bro. Already edited the post even more. |
BannedLarge:Henry was better than Eto'o hands down. Even that same Fenomeno did not win UCL or score in its final yet he is better than Eto. Henry was nominated for World player & Ballon dor final 3 times and came second twice and third once. Eto was only nominated once and he came third. Henry won: -World cup -Euro 2000, -Fifa confederations Cup (where he scored against Eto's Cameroon in final and won player of tournament) -UCL - Eto may have scored in that final but Henry was instrumental in that UCL campaign as well with 4 knockout goals. -Henry dragged an average Arsenal side to UCL final with several scintillating displays. -Henry's 2006 world cup campaign to the final is also notable for great performances against Brazil and Portugal. On a personal attribute level, Henry was faster, more skillful, could pass the ball better, could score free kicks regularly, assisted more than Eto. Both have similar goal sense. And Suarez, Lewandowski & Shevchenko are better than Eto'o. Rooney and Aguero are on his same level. Note that Henry's prime was 2000 - 2006 while Eto's prime was 2004 - 2010. By the time Henry was playing with Eto in Barca he was already winding down his career. At Henry's prime he was generally considered arguably to be the worlds best striker vs Fenomeno. |
GrammarNazi1:Thank you. Reason I dont want him to come back is because we'd only be delaying the inevitable in the short term so it's better we continue to deal with how to be effective without him now rather than later. Only sometimes when I see the disrespect he gets in PSG my heart be going pls come back home lol but that's all part of the tough experience and I want him to succeed elsewhere too and finish his career without stress of carrying a spineless team again. |

Jokerman:Lamba, Oya bring receipts! |
It's like Pendu likes the song "I shot the Sheriff, but I could not shoot the deputy (Omonia)" cos na Sheriff don collect 70% of his bullets this season ![]() |
Jokerman:Mute ke? Did you mute yourself when Messi that played as an attacking midfielder scored 11 goals and assisted 14 times last season? If you can't go mute for the GOAT who delivered 25 G/A last season, why should we keep quiet for a pure striking fraud that is still doing 4 G/A after 3 months? ![]() |
abduleez1:I think he is too absorbed in the philosophy thingy to the point of blindness to reality. How can the only UCL teams we have beaten with your superior philosophy be Dynamo Kiev and Viktoria Plzen? For a year, how long should we wait. The question we should ask ourselves now is whether there is any silver lining at all with Xavi. |
I know Messi is past tense and honestly dont even want him to come back. But I think he deserves an apology from detractors who had said Barca was his comfort zone when recent events have shown instead that it is Messi that was Barca's comfort zone. |
abduleez1:It's crisis PR management 101 bro. They know Pedri is a darling of the fans so viewers would be more inclined to be sympathetic unlike when you see Busquets misyarning and feel like breaking your TV set ![]() |
Jokerman:Henry is confirmed EPL GOAT, as voted for by pundits & fans twice now. One spectacular season cannot override 6 spectacular seasons. The pundits are wise. If Pendu had stayed longer in EPL during his prime he'd have won it but as he didnt, make he no carry wetin no reach Messi for la liga to displace Henry for EPL. |
Jokerman:Lol, he cannot be one of us o. Maybe na from Madrid camp so no dey use him to gaslight us. |
Jokerman:Leave Messi alone joor. Na now we dey see say na him no let us play Europa all these years. |
This Bellerin just dey play like a lost deer in the headlights. Running about helter-skelter doing nothing. He's even very lucky Dembele is keeping Alphonso Davies occupied else he would have been skinned alive. Easily bullied by Mane the same way Osimhen bullied Smalling over the weekend. So disappointed. What exactly is in this Bayern that all our key players suddenly become clueless? 5 straight losses in the last 2 years?? No goals against them in 4 matches. This is unacceptable. |
tesppidd: Bro, I was just curious to see how the issue was seen back then immediately I saw the old thread cos someone posted something else in it. Don't tell me you are the one I summoned lol |
baralatie:To be honest, I think Ye is mentally skewed to some extent. The signs are mounting. |
About time they did cos they were under so much public pressure to cut off since last week. Already their sales were taking hits cos of Kanye's indiscretion. The guy literally put them in trouble by daring them to drop him which made people think Adidas supported his anti-Jews statement. To make it worse, Ye made that statement during Adidas' celebration of its Diversity & Inclusion week. The irony of it. |
Them plenty: Telecomms/support companies - MTN, Airtel, IHS Towers - Tech sector is one of the very few booming sectors now with great pay and good retention. MTN is the highest non-oil revenue earner and taxpayer in Nigeria so it's a no-brainer that working there now is gold. Fintech companies: Paystack & Flutterwave - Also a growing niche so they have a lot of money to attract and retain talents Big 4 +1 - KPMG, PwC, Deloitte, EY & Anderson - These need no introduction apart from Anderson. They develop you very fast and give you tremendous leverage while their pay is also good. Management Consulting: McKinsey, Accenture, BCG. - This is a specialist niche so pay is high especially for Mckinsey. Oil & Gas upstream & downstram: Shell, Total, Chevron, Mobil, Seplat, Schlumberger, GE, Hannover, Addax, Forte Oil - Sector is contracting so not as attractive as before as they now tend to downgrade the compensation package for new entrants. Despite this, they are still very good pay-wise which tells of how unbelievably good the entry compensation was pre-oil revenue crisis. Manufacturing multinationals: Nestle, British American Tobacco, NBC/Coca-Cola, Nigerian Breweries, Guinness, Proctor & Gamble, Wamco (Peak), Seven-Up, Lafarge, PZ Cussons, Henkel, Unilever, JTI Group, (Promasidor, Flourmills & Dangote are a step below the attractive level of these set) - Have a combination of good-pay & retirement benefits benchmarked against global standards and employee retention even during tough economic times. Tech companies: Google, Microsoft, IBM, Ericsson, Softcom (company that flew all staff to Dubai for vacation) Pharmaceuticals: GSK, Sanofi-Aventis Engineering service companies: Krones, Aggreko HMO - Mansard Government agencies: CBN, Customs, FIRS, NIPC, NNPC, FMITI, NEMA, NPA etc. - For obvious reasons. These are some I can remember |
