Romance / Re: How Can I Keep My Girlfriend Forever? by Thirst4Lif: 1:41am On Jun 02, 2011 |
@OP And you want US to tell you how to keep her forever? I'm sure there are people on NL who aren't sure how to maintain their OWN relationships!! Just keep doing what you've done thus far! Good luck! |
Romance / Re: Married Women That Apply Heavy Make-up And Dress Indecently. What For? by Thirst4Lif: 1:22am On Jun 02, 2011 |
Women dress in a certain fashion because they think it makes them look good. I don't think it gets any more complicated than that! The pictures of Stacey Dash cannot be taken into account. She is 'posing' seductively for a men's magazine. Big difference. |

Family / Re: Letter To My Son by Thirst4Lif: 1:06am On Jun 02, 2011 |
isn't this the same guy that left a caption under one of his other pictures that people hate on him cause of his white wife. I was thinking the child looked rather light-skinned!! Some Black men will couple with a puppy dog if she is light-skinned. Whatever! Good fortune to the OP and his son. |

A loving Dad. I applaud you. |
Business / Re: Why Are We Not Making Money Like Dangote? by Thirst4Lif: 12:56am On Jun 02, 2011 |
I don't think people like Dangote got to be so successful by accident. First of all, I've read the man came from money, so he already had a financial cushion. I think people like Dangote started out with a plan and they followed through. Most of us start out with an idea, hit a stumbling block and become discouraged. Clearly Dangote did not give up, but the man was already sitting on a goldmine, just as Bill Gates, so why would he? He persevered until he attained his goal. At least he wasn't content just being a trust fund baby. All in all I applaud Dangote for all of his success. I remember when Adenuga's CIL bid was voided by NCC. The next day, he showed up in Aso Rock. Prolly, that's why he got an SNO license for $200 million, when the other chaps paid $285m for just the mobile license. The man had a back-up plan. Smart Man! |

Haitians? Oh $hit! I donated to them also!! I probably helped buy an already rich guy another vacation home! |
Politics / Re: Nigerian Woman Shot Dead By German Police Over Welfare Allowance by Thirst4Lif: 11:59pm On May 30, 2011 |
ninety nine percent of the monies go into administration and paying salaries. only 1 percent actually gets to the target. which is why i never donate for any charities. its all a scam. i do my own charity in person. give a homeless man food, clothes etc etc. i feel better that way. Good comment buzugee! I think I'll follow your lead! Though I must admit I did fall for the sob stories on t.v. and made a donation myself (probably too many beers that night). I've learned better. |
Politics / Re: Nigerian Woman Shot Dead By German Police Over Welfare Allowance by Thirst4Lif: 11:48pm On May 30, 2011 |
some people with a bit of human decency who dont want to see us africans extinct because of corporate fascism. throw a lil crumbs our way so we dont starve to death For the last 20+ years I've seen late-night infomericals requesting money be donated to the continent of Africa. And recently my thoughts have been, "how the hell much money do these people need?!!" Joining Nairaland has definitely been an eye-opener! I've come to the conclusion there's a very good chance none of this money has ever reached anyone of African descent at all! |

I once had a run in with them, where they were asking for my ID and I was ignoring them, eating what I was eating until one of them told me that I know I would never try this with their American counterparts and come out unscathed And the German officer was absolutely correct. If you'd given an officer of the law, be he German, American, etc. cause to take notice of you, and you ignored that officer, you put yourself in the position of being handled or spoken to any way the officer sees fit. This is why I warn my young friends to comply with these people. Bottom line, they are people just like any of us. Prone to having a bad day or being in a bad mood. But unlike us they wear badges and legally carry guns. Don't know what kind of day YOU were having, but your ignoring the German officer is an action I would definitely advise my young friends against. But PLEASE don't think every German officer would have handled you the way he did!! It was just your Lucky day, my friend. Please don't press your luck! The next officer may not be as kind. |
Politics / Re: Nigerian Woman Shot Dead By German Police Over Welfare Allowance by Thirst4Lif: 10:59pm On May 30, 2011 |
How do you 'demand' welfare money?? Sad story with an expected outcome after becoming overly aggressive with an officer of the law. If a Nigerian scores high on the SAT or opens a succesful business,I congratulate them, but if they stab an officer or try to bomb an aircraft like abdul mutallab,I have every right to call them out. Absolutely! Mutallab tried to blow up a plane so he deserves what he gets on the other hand a woman got shot for demanding for her welfare money. Demand! Who the hell is she that she should demand something she hasn't worked for? You demand a salary you've worked to get, you don't demand a handout! As this unfortunate woman learned the hard way. It could be the police woman was just trigger happy and pulled her gun and shot the nigerian lady because of her angry gestures LOL Angry gestures??!! Are you kidding us! |
Politics / Re: Steps That Will Show Whether Jonathan Will Be An Effective And Efficient Leader by Thirst4Lif: 10:38pm On May 30, 2011 |
I personally don't expect much from the man. It takes a visionary leader to effect any kind of change. I do not see this in the man Excellent statement! Enough said! |
Politics / Re: President Goodluck & Wife Dancing (pic) by Thirst4Lif: 10:21pm On May 30, 2011 |
As regards Obama and Osama, it took them yearssss with million of dollars of taxpayers money and lives to get ONE man. Besides, americans are still criticizing him everyday, you guyz shd come over and see what happens on the streetz here. Dont be deceived by CNN and co, This is a LIE! It took years to find him because the son of a b.itch was HIDING! It's not like he posted his address on the internet. And Americans don't give a damn what it cost to find bin Laden, they're just happy the p.o.s. is dead. Or didn't you watch the news the night he was killed? Did you see anyone complaining about taxes? I'm in America, have been around for a few decades and have NEVER known the public not to criticize a sitting President, so complaints are quite the norm. If there was so much happening in the streets don't you think CNN and every news outlet would be reporting it? Perhaps you should return to your 'finely tuned' country and live life there where you belong! Oh, I forgot, you'd probably rather not starve to death! |
Politics / Re: President Goodluck & Wife Dancing (pic) by Thirst4Lif: 10:05pm On May 30, 2011 |
A wife as fat as Jonathan's would have prevented Obama from becoming President of the United States! I'll bet she beats the HELL out of GoodlucK!! lmao |
Politics / Re: Pictures Of President Goodluck Jonathan With His Family by Thirst4Lif: 9:52pm On May 30, 2011 |
Probably he started having kids when he could afford to give them the best as Deputy Governor I doubt it. Men aren't usally that smart when it comes to sex. Patience needs to lose about 200 pounds. |
Crime / Re: Stupid Nigerian-Kenyan Ambasador Beats His Wife by Thirst4Lif: 8:23pm On May 29, 2011 |
It's difficult to look at these pictures. This guy is mentally ill. A man wouldn't treat an animal like this, certainly not someone he's supposed to love. |

Well that surely says something about you, no offense No offense taken. And you're right it does say a lot. It says, as I stated, I don't know who the man is!! It's not like the guy is Denzel. |
Romance / Re: Wot Kinda Insult Is This? by Thirst4Lif: 7:49pm On May 29, 2011 |
She was with me and she chatted with her ex for 1 hour! Are you the boyfriend, fiance', what? Perhaps you're taking the relationship more seriously than she. But regardless, even if you were just one of her girlfriends it's rude to have company over and leave them unattended for 1 hour while you talk on the telephone. |
Romance / Re: Most Of Our Parents Married Without Courtship But They Luv Themselves More That Us Today. Why? by Thirst4Lif: 7:41pm On May 29, 2011 |
And to top it off,the likes of Oprah,Tyra,Queen Latifah are looking for ladies to be single like them This is nuts! Nobody said anyone should live Oprah's or Beyonce's lifestyle. Least of all them! People should stop blaming their problems on the West. In you're African, act as Africans. Westerners aren't so greatly influenced by Africans so why do they influence you so much? Women know they're all individuals capable of making their own decisions. It's an insult to women to imply they're so impressionable. @OP Perhaps your parents sat down with each other before marriage and defined what both their roles would be within the marriage. Fortunately they've been able to abide by their decisions. Also, perhaps your parents were actually in love with each other when they married. |

Nkem Owoh can be recognised in most Western European and American cities, sorry who are you again Re: The American cities. I applaud your aggression, but I've been in America all my life & I don't know WHO the hell this guy is! |
Celebrities / Re: Psquare Attacked And Robbed At Gun Point In Lagos (3rd Mainland) by Thirst4Lif: 8:21pm On May 27, 2011 |
The robbers saw an expensive car and figured the driver had money. He's blessed to have walked away with his life. Unfortunately next time he may be less inclined to stop and assist someone in distress. |

Most actors are only reciting dialogue which was written by someone else. Unless this actor is also the writer, how can he control the amount of lines he's given? |
Politics / Re: Nigerian Masses Are As Corrupt As Nigerian Politicians (evidence) by Thirst4Lif: 7:54am On May 27, 2011 |
Better believe that if their leaders slack off in the USA it will only be a couple of decades of such before the country is indistinguishable from today's Nigeria. The citizens of the USA would never allow this to happen. The difference in the USA and Nigeria is the USA's population demands to be heard and it's leaders are made to be held accountable, so the US would never go back to ways of the Old West or any other totally corrupt era in it's history. NEVER! |
Politics / Re: My Name Is Almajiri: A Story by Thirst4Lif: 7:31am On May 27, 2011 |
This piece should have been entitled 'The Makings of a Jihadist.' Extremist groups prey on poor and neglected young people such as this boy. |
Politics / Re: Nigerian Masses Are As Corrupt As Nigerian Politicians (evidence) by Thirst4Lif: 6:26pm On May 26, 2011 |
@OP I, however, planted some of my boys to monitor him and bring reports of his progress back to me. That one line lets us know you expected bad behavior from this man or you wouldn't have released individuals to spy on him, so I don't think you were really too surprised at how things went. Some people want to be helped, some are content sitting on their backsides and complaining about their poor circumstances. Even though he was a poor selection I'm sure there are others who'd be more receptive to your efforts. DON'T GIVE UP! |

Religion / Re: How Many Here Have Read The Bible From Cover To Cover. by Thirst4Lif: 8:34pm On May 25, 2011 |
I did, including the preface. . . And said goodbye to Christianity forever. No regrets. It's amazing how some people berate one religion over another when the end result is supposed to be the same. Be it as Christians, Lutherans, Islams, etc. when it's all said and done, aren't we all trying to get to Heaven?! |
Family / Re: Help! My Parents Way Or My Way? by Thirst4Lif: 8:27pm On May 25, 2011 |
I will ALWAYS suggest that a woman not begin child-bearing until AFTER she is married. When an unmarried woman has set up housekeeping with a man, supplies his every need and bears his children it reduces the possibility of that man even making her his wife. And why would he, she's given him EVERYTHING already!! |
Programming / Re: Is There Any Chance That A Female Can Become A Very Good Programmer by Thirst4Lif: 8:21pm On May 25, 2011 |
A woman should be bold enough to become anything that she wants to become. Very good answer. Women become doctors, lawyers, representatives in government, etc. Why not a programmer? |
Religion / Re: Why The 'Daddy' Craze In Our Churches? by Thirst4Lif: 8:13pm On May 25, 2011 |
The more personable the church administration becomes with the church congregation the more likely the congregation is to open their purses and wallets more freely. How can the congregation deny someone who allows them to refer to him or her as 'Daddy' or 'Mommy?' That's why some of these pastors are able to fly around in their own private jets, as was discussed on another thread. This practice was devised to drain the congregation dry of whatever finances they have available. It's all a mind-game, my friend. |
