While being questioned, the boy said his father flogged him with a wire. The father admitted that he flogged his son with his charger cord and said he did so because he was angry. He explained that he kept telling the child's mother to carry him but she refused, so, in anger, he flogged the boy with the cord. The beating left welts on the boy's back.

Recall that the Oyo state police command released a statement on Saturday, October 29 stating that there was an attempted abduction on the major expressway on Friday, October 28. According to a statement by the spokesperson of the command, SP Adewale Osifeso, the kidnappers carried out their attack along the Dominion University end of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. In her written testimony which was read by her pastor, Yemi Davids of the Global Impact Church on Sunday, October 30, she said; ''I ran into these daredevil gang of kidnappers yesterday afternoon along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway. It was a random swoop as a fisherman would cast his net into the sea. Our vehicles were stopped in front and behind so we could not even reverse. If even we thought of reversing, we were warned that they would open fire. We were instructed to park off the road and that the last person to park and to get out of his car will be killed. True to their words, the last person that got out of his car was shot dead immediately.'' |

According to Twitter user @The_Vyrus who shared the story online, the victim is among those recently kidnapped in Nsukka, Enugu state. In the trending voice note, the victim who sounded terrified, said they had just left a funeral when they were abducted. He asked his relative to please search for the money the kidnappers are asking for so he and others can be released alive. In the voice note, the family member asked the kidnapper what he wanted and he responded asking for a ransom otherwise they would eliminate the victims. ''Please we are dying here. Biko. Please.' Please save my life'' the victim said The victim stated that the kidnappers asked for N10 million ransom for him, asked for N30 million for one Edozie, N10 million for one Bamanganu and N20 million for one Sylva. He broke down in tears as he pleaded with his relative to help him get the money. |
