A Nigerian man has shared a beautiful experience with a girl whose life changed after he took her out of Makoko, Lagos.

@Otto_Orondaam revealed that he met the little girl in Makoko over 10 years ago, before taking her out of the Lagos community where it is believed a “girl shouldn’t go to school”, to an Abuja school with annual school fees of N1m.

A video of Rufai threatening police officers that he will call the governor after he was arrested for using the BRT lane went viral today August 2.

On January 30, 2016, Danish aid worker Anja Ringgren Lovén was photographed giving water to a severely emaciated 2-year-old boy, whom she rescued after he was branded a witch by his family and left to starve to death in Akwa Ibom.

The boy had wandered the streets for months when Anja got a phone call and immediately led a rescue team including her husband David Emmanuel Umem, to bring the child to the Children’s Education and Development Foundation (ACAEDF) aka “Land of Hope”

Taking to Facebook page on Monday, August 1, 2022, Lovén revealed that Hope finally met his father few days ago after six years.


The aid worker said Hope’s parents are divorced, however, she didn’t reveal circumstances that led to the boy being branded a witch and abandoned.

HOPE HAS THE RIGHT TO HAVE AN IDENTITY. HAVING AN IDENTITY IS A FUNDAMENTAL HUMAN RIGHT. FOR HOPE TO KNOW MORE ABOUT HIS CULTURAL BACKGROUND AND WHERE HE COMES FROM WILL HELP HIM TO DEVELOP A STRONG SENSE OF WHO HE REALLY IS.

A TV show presenter, Rufai Oseni, who is a tv presenter with the Arise TV was arrested by the Nigeria police, who was enforcing traffic infractions, in Lagos State.

When the PRO responded to him, he said,


“Rufai, let’s not do this. You admitted to me that you passed a BRT lane. It’s against the law. Your claim that google maps took you there is not tenable. You disobeyed and resisted the officers. We’ll sanction the officer who misused firearm if proven”

Houssam Diabtold Told The Visiting Chairman/CEO Of Nigerians In Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa In His Abuja Office That The Mission Had Suspended The Issuance Since May 1.

Amb. Diab Stated That The Suspension Started Since May 1, Following The Video Of Peace Busari, A Nigerian Lady, Auctioned By A Non-Lebanese Person On Social Media In April This Year, Went Viral.

He Said The Suspension Was To Stem The Tide For Such Categories Of Workers Pending The Time The Procedure Would Be Properly Harmonise With The Ministry Of Labour Modalities.

Thus Far, The Ambassador Said The Lebanese Government In Conjunction With The Lebanese Community In Nigeria Had Brought Back 69 Out Of 79 Nigerians Allegedly Stranded And Abused By Their Bosses Back To The Country.

NCDC Also Does Not Make The Results Of Covid-19 Tests Available To Patients. When A Result Emerges At Any Of The Labs, It Is Made Available To NCDC And The State Epidemiologist. The Task Of Informing A Patient Is The Responsibility Of The State Epidemiologist/Health Ministry.
NCDC’s Role In The Dissemination Of Test Results Is This: They Receive The Numbers From The Labs (25 And Counting), Validate The Numbers STATE BY STATE, Collate The Figures Nationally, And Then Make The National Announcement (That Late Night Tweet That Keeps Many Of You Awake).

I’ve Heard The NCDC DG Say That Sometimes, If They’re Unable To Validate Test Data (I.E. Confirmed Cases) With A Particular State, Before Nightly Collation, They Will Leave That State Out Of The Announcement Until The Next Day. That’s How Important The Validation Is. Painstaking.

The Process Is Complicated Somewhat By The Fact That The Labs Are Carrying Out Tests For Multiple States. So You Have To Ensure That The State-Level Reporting Is Accurate. You Have To Be In Constant Touch With Each State, To Minimize The Risk Of Mix-Ups Or Other Errors.

Very Importantly, NCDC Has A Responsibility To Develop Guidelines & Protocols For Pandemic Response Activities. Very Important. And They’ve Developed These On Everything From Case Definition To Testing To Use Of PPE & Masks To Handling Of Corpses, Etc Covid19.Ncdc.Gov.Ng/Guideline/

NCDC Also Coordinates The Public Health Laboratory Network For #COVID19. I Talked About This Earlier. The National Network Of Covid Testing Labs (25 And Counting) Is Overseen By NCDC.

NCDC Also Collect & Process Data, On Various Infectious Diseases And Public Health Issues Generally, From Around The Country. They Have A Pretty Sophisticated Disease Outbreak Data Platform, The Surveillance Outbreak Response Management And Analysis System (SORMAS)

NCDC Also Have An International Liaison Role, Engaging On Behalf Of Nigeria With Agencies & Partners Like @WHO, @AfricaCDC, @OoasWaho Etc
