Jobs/Vacancies › Re: They Require A Third Class Graduate. What Could Be The Reason? by ThoniaSlim(f): 7:48am On Jun 11, 2015 |
adepiero: Well, that's a new development. I guess companies are starting to realise that its not all about what you have on paper but how you can manifest your potential in the real world.
Many first class, and second class degree holders have fallen short of competence in the labour market, some can't even defend their result! Maybe this would pave way for equity in the job hunt Don't you all wish! |

Romance › Re: He Was Angry With His Brother Because Of His Fiancee's Unwashed Plates by ThoniaSlim(f): 7:57pm On May 25, 2015 |
RedBenson: A neighbourhood brother was seriously angry with his younger bro this morning when he realised that the plates his fiancee ate with when she visited last night was not washed by his younger brother.
The guy may have purposely refused to wash the plates because he believes it's an insult for a lady (be it his senior or junior) to have eaten from a plate and lacked the basic womanly manners to leave it unwashed.
Since the dude who's a student and well over 25yrs realised that a lady, who should be respecting men would rather try to bring him down to that extent and had thus refused to wash the plates.
This issue actually caused an uproar between the two brothers up to the point the elder brother was telling the younger one "finish your school asap and leave my house...nonsense".
Well, the elder brother later went and washed the plates furiously angry without his sibling. The fact that he even supported the lady on such act is what surprised everyone.
The question is, what RIGHT does a lady (be it a wife or fiancee) have to keep the plates she ate with for her brother in-law to come wash for her? Who should rather do that to who? Smh @women of nowadays. No iota of manners in them again. I think it was very wrong to have left the plates she used unwashed. However, the highlighted part leaves a little bit of distaste. What has this got to do with disrespecting men? Does this mean men can't wash plates again? Or is a man washing plate synonymous to him being less of a man? |

Jobs/Vacancies › Re: 6 Reasons Why Discrimination Against 2.2 & 3rd Class Graduates Should Stop by ThoniaSlim(f): 5:22am On May 22, 2015 |
Tjayjosh: From the way you talk it clearly shows that you are immature and arrogant!. Let me tell you if this is a job interview i'll pick a 2.2 or 3rd class graduate over you. And this is exactly the point in this context. Regardless of what you think you have achieved, you'd better get rid of that attitude and shape up, young lady. Don't think you know too much because of your grades, you'd be surprised that what you know is like a little drop in the ocean. Well guess what this is not a job interview and your opinion of me doesn't count. |
Jobs/Vacancies › Re: 6 Reasons Why Discrimination Against 2.2 & 3rd Class Graduates Should Stop by ThoniaSlim(f): 5:05pm On May 21, 2015 |
Tjayjosh: "what you are emotionally is what you are!" may be too strong a statement to true, but its close. Let me be straight. What the op is saying in this context is that no matter hw intelligent a person is, when he gets emotionally upset he cannot think in an orderly fashion. Emotion can break his concentration and stifle his creativity. Some people's minds are totally dominated by their emotion. How you deal with your problem is different from the way other pple do. Am surprised that you graduated top of your class and still do not know that nobody is exactly like you in this world. On the internet you can be whatever you want. Still amazes me that some people choose to be st*upid. The fact you started a sentence with "AM" instead of "I AM" or "I'M" is appalling and I suppose you're a graduate? Shocking! By the way, you questioning my grades doesn't change it and the opportunities that I get as a result of it. So fade away dobby! |

Jobs/Vacancies › Re: 6 Reasons Why Discrimination Against 2.2 & 3rd Class Graduates Should Stop by ThoniaSlim(f): 7:20am On May 21, 2015 |
Lacoolmley: So by implication, you are saying those that made 1st class had no family issues, financial issues, etc. These ones have proven that they can have all those issues and still come out in flying colours. If someone says he is smart and then leaves his books to go have fun or improve his social status on campus, how is that anyone's business. At the end of the day he comes out and says he is smarter than those with 1st class. I am not saying 2.2 and 3rd class graduates are not smart, but when it comes to academic success, they should just accept that they didn't do well at that time of their lives and move on rather then try to belittle the academic achievement of the first class graduate. God bless you! It gets on my freaking nerves when people make it look like your first class wasn't earned or is nothing due to their own personal insecurities! I graduated top of my class and I can tell you it wasn't easy! Yes I was abroad but still I had to juggle between classes and a part time job. I basically had no social life especially in my final year! I'm not saying those with less than a 2:1 aren't smart but seriously if you still in school, I beg you aim high! The opportunities and doors it opens is amazing. I'm on my third job since I graduated in 2013 and the opportunities keep coming that I'm the one turning them down. |
