xbernardx:He is the world renowned Ineffectual Buffoon. That was his legacy. Maybe if he returns, he would have finally invented his much touted technology to fight the same corruption he enabled the likes of Dasuki, Tompolo, Metuh, Diezani etc. |
Jonathan would first have to explain how he inherited an economy that was promising in 2010, and was wrecked by 2015. He will have to explain how he ran down the ECA and depleted the foreign reserves from $47b to $29b/$30b. He will have to explain how our debts grew in multiples within the same period we were earning so much from oil sales at $100/barrel. He would have to explain how our currency was never able to gain against the dollar despite all the petrodollars earned and no economic challenges prior to the oil price slump that started in H2 2014. He would have to explain how tremendous oil earnings can result to 2nd hand infrastructure, increased debt, dwindling of government savings and reduced foreign reserves. An economic antithesis that should be studied in every economics programme in the university. It was a situation that was economically impossible, but Jonathan ensured it was a possibility in his own government. His regime was the only regime since 1999 that was unable to increase the Foreign Reserves, despite being the one that made the most petrodollars from oil sales that is valued at 51% of all the petrodollars ever earned from oil production since 1956. Apart from the blessed ATM Dasuki and his billionaire civil servant wife who uses fictitious names and false identities to operate bank accounts, what else did he do with all the income, such that a further N470b ($3b) had to be borrowed to pay civil servant salaries in the last few months of his tenure when oil income had dropped by half without any tangible savings to show for the windfall that lasted the first 4yrs of his 5yr reign? |
LordAdam:I can see you are very puerile. Dude the voting public already acted on their own complaints in 2015. We fired a failure and his team. We do not need Twitter or Standard Chartered to fire our own employee. We already passed our own judgment on the economic performance of the Jonathan and Okonjo Iweala regime. Hence, the first of its kind sacking of a democratic administration that is still giving you agony. It is also left to a private foreign firm to also fire those associated with it for whatever shortcomings. The Nigerian voting public is not affected by whatever failures occur at Twitter. There is always an alternative to move on to whenever a firm collapses due to its own internal failures. |
babajeje123:Only the electorate have the final say. The only God allowed in a democracy is a Godfather. Vote tally has nothing to do with God, especially when people vote objectively based on ability, or subjectively based on tribe and religion. |
diebuhari1:Maybe you should read and comprehend before responding. This is what I stated below. Her British passport was her exemption. She was a British born Nigeria and could continue to work with that status. She had her Nigerian passport and foreign work experience to get Nigerian jobs and had a British passport as proof of exemption since she was not resident in Nigeria until well past the age of NYSC participation or exemption. As for government job, Diezani got government job without NYSC. Adeosun from her explaination had no business with Nigeria before the age of 34 besides occasional visits. So at age 34 when she began having interest in her other country, she had no business having any business with NYSC. And that is why I insist that her British passport was her exemption as proof of her previous loyalties at the period of her life when the NYSC would have been an obligation. As long as she has valid Nigerian citizenship and chose to return to Nigeria as an adult, her NYSC status would have been irrelevant and anyone challenging her in any court would have lost as she would not be denied her constitutional rights as a Nigerian citizen who embraced her Nigerian nationality well past the age of NYSC obligation. So I insist that her mistake was caring to obtain an exemption she should have disregarded at that age. |
diebuhari1:How did Diezani get her Shell job and her federal minister jobs under Yar'Adua and Jonathan without NYSC participation or exemption? I repeat, Adeosun ruined herself by caring to obtain what was not applicable to a British citizen who chose to return to her heritage at an age she was not under any obligation to have any business with NYSC participation or exemption. |
id911:Did Kemi graduate in Nigeria or did she have any business with Nigeria then? Do you know how many Nigerians born abroad like her who had no business with Nigeria in their childhood and youth, but later relocated as adults and are employed in Nigeria? |
MaziOmenuko:Dude, there are many Nigerians working in Nigeria as expatriates because they have a foreign passport. She is British, she could work in a private firm in Nigeria as an expatriate. Besides she was not coming to Nigeria at that age to secure an entry level job. Diezani Allison Madueke worked as a Minister over many portfolios, yet she never did NYSC nor exemption, and worked with Shell Petroleum in Nigeria. I know Adeosun could not get an exemption at her age, the more reason I mentioned that her British birth with passport was her exemption for someone who was never resident in Nigeria before the age of 34. She had no business with Nigeria when she was at an age that NYSC was an obligation. And she was no longer qualified for it when she had business with Nigeria. |
I was once stopped by the police and majestically presented my drivers license application form which served as a legal particular prior to release of the temporary driver's license and permanent driver's license. I wasn't resident in Lagos and was only visiting my family home and decided to obtained it since my old license had expired while I was away and I had my car parked in Lagos. This new license registration was done that same week at the FRSC/Tax office at Somolu Lagos. Lo and behold, the police officer showed me that the application form was dated as submitted on a date that was still 2weeks ahead. I doubted him until he showed me to my disbelief the details recorded. This was the same registration form I had proof read after it was handed to me at the FRSC office. Immediately, the policeman accused me of forgery of government document. At no time did I instruct the FRSC officer to post date that registration so I could use it starting at a later date as I needed it to be effective immediately, and post dating it did not help to extend the validity of the registration form beyond its fixed period of 1month or so. I pride myself for being a model and law abiding citizen, yet I was entwined in a forgery accusation about 11pm in the evening, because a civil servant did what they are most notable for even when I did not request it nor did it favour me in any way. Since then I learnt to be careful. As for Kemi Adeosun, what exactly was she looking to achieve by getting an exemption certificate when she did not require it for anything at that age? Her British passport was her exemption. She was a British born Nigerian and could continue to work with that status. She had her Nigerian passport and foreign work experience to get Nigerian jobs and had a British passport as proof of exemption since she was not resident in Nigeria until well past the age of NYSC participation or exemption. She ruined herself by obtaining what she did not need. |
What is a disgrace is that the DSS that vetted her nomination did not know that anything was amiss. When such a stark mistake happens, even the vetting team ought to be sacked for their incompetence. |
ednut1:Tell the liar again. Records do not lie. |
He is still her Father Christmas. You showed off a car long before the Suleiman scandal, and same car registration was looked up in the licensing directory, and showed that the car was registered to Apostle Sule. Daniella, who's your daddy? Apostle Sule! it’s senseless, he is still my father and will always be no matter the insinuations or assumption. |
BiafraIShere:Of what benefit was the prowess of Okonjo Iweala as at May 2015, when she looked at what she inherited in 2011 versus what she was handing over in 2015? -Increased debts at a time of increased revenue. -Increased prices of commodities. -Reduced foreign reserves despite increased petrodollar earned. -Dollar vs Naira stood at N220 versus N160 inherited in 2011. -ECA almost non existent. Is it the prowess to ruin a nation's economy within the same period that nation's revenue was at the highest ever due to the coincidence of extremely high price of crude oil? |
LordAdam:I know her profile and I know that her public career started as an appointee of the Obasanjo regime. The same Obasanjo that wrote Jonathan a letter that FFK concluded that the failed Johnathan regime was finished. Her most senior position in her public career was her appointment as minister under the Buhari regime, so please ease up and slow your roll, everybody loves to associate with success even when they did not play any role in its achievement. I and many irrelevant pawns sacked a regime that failed because of arrogant sycophants like yourself, who could not speak the truth because of crumbs that dropped from the master's table of corruption. Adeosun has been disgraced for resigning? I can now see the reason why you remain so hurt and agitated over the sack of 2015. It was too much a disgrace that you are yet to recover from. In fact Adeosun's resignation is unable to placate your pain that is deep and throbbing. The "irrelevant" voting public sacked the Jonathan regime. It hurts still like it was yesterday. Whatever the voting public thought of the Jonathan regime and his economic team led by Okonjo Iweala, mattered on the presidential election of 2015. We all remember the outcome. We remember who was fired and who was hired. That was a regime that ended in disgrace. |
LordAdam:He even claimed Amina Mohammed? An enemy of the state who is even happy Dasuki is winning in the courts? You have always been a shameless supporter of corruption. It seems Ojota protest really pained you as it ensured that Jonathan never recovered his popularity after that foolish decision of shifting the burden of an over bloated subsidy scheme from the size he inherited, to the voting population who would not be in a position to ask any questions their own federal government should have asked. You must tremble whenever you pass through the iconic Ojota. That is the power of the people. The people who have the power to sack those they employ. |
mekaboy:How come you could not defend anything else I listed besides regurgitating the fact that governors asked that they get their share of the ECA that Jonathan and Iweala were already stealing from without the necessary approval of the FAAC? Or when the PDP led governors forum finally got their wish to get the states share of the ECA, did they force the FG to spend its own share? Or was it the governors that ran down the Foreign Reserves? Was it the governors that refused to pay over $5b counterpart funding for JV oil projects? Was it the governors that disbursed unbudgeted funds to the blessed ATM Dasuki? Was it the governors that earned so much oil revenue only to waste it all and not save a single kobo? Was it the governors that made the FG borrow to pay FG salaries? Or the ECA was meant for FG salaries? Were the governors the Minister of Finance? |
LordAdam:What exactly is your problem? Why are you so agitated? Who are the WE that are winning? Is it propaganda that the FG of Jonathan and Iweala did not pay counterpart funding for JV oil projects from 2010 to 2015 despite the immense oil income? Who needs to suck it up? Is it not a wailer that would always be told to suck it up and stop crying over a defeat that many have moved on from? I have no business with the person of Okonjo Iweala, I will attack her based on her performance with facts and figures. Not personalised emotions like you are wont to do. You on the other hand seem to be upset that the Jonathan and Okonjo Iweala regime was sacked. You have remain frustrated and aggressive in your vituperations since that time. Why are you so offended with Adeosun? Did she stop your salary or stop your government contract, or switched off the blessed ATM Dasuki at the point it was your turn to make a withdrawal? Fola Adeola, a common riff raff polytechnic graduate with HND unlike Adeosun with a Bachelor's degree, founded GTBank that has become the biggest bank in Nigeria today. Whatever you gain from denigrating Adeosun's person is best known to you. One thing I know is that the Jonathan and Okonjo Iweala administration was sacked for failure. The first of its kind in Nigeria. I know it is humiliating and gets you worked up, but you need to calm down. We the people sacked that regime, move on. We the people will continue to sack any regime that has failed. |
mekaboy:She saw recession coming but did not see that NNPC was shortchanging the FG until Lamido Sanusi made the allegations, which she then rose to her responsibilities and declare that not $20b was missing but $10b? The governors were reckless to ask for the states share of the ECA when the FG and Okonjo Iweala were dipping their hands into the same funds already without the prerequisite FAAC approval? She saw recession coming but was granting import waivers to cronies and approving unbudgeted funds for the blessed ATM Dasuki? She saw recession coming but could not explain how the Foreign Reserves went down from $47b to $29b/$30b during her own tenure? She saw recession coming but was borrowing billions of dollars before 2014 when crude oil still sold for above 100/barrel? She saw recession coming but was already in an economic mess, such that she had to borrow N470b ($3b as at then) to pay February, March and April 2015 salaries? |
OfficialAPCNig:So your own concern as an Igbo is who to compare yourselves to? Can you remind yourself of the verdict that Soludo himself passed on the economic management of Okonjo Iweala and Jonathan? |
LordAdam:Who is talking about class when we are talking about a minister who was shouting that recession is coming but was doing everything to ensure that recession did come? Or is Adeosun to blame that the FG of Jonathan was owing over $5b in counterpart funding for JV oil projects? Or is it Adeosun that made the Jonathan regime run down the ECA including the illegal withdrawals by Okonjo Iweala that she later admitted? Is it Buhari that made a regime that inherited foreign reserves of $47b and crude oil price selling at over $100/barrel, to run down the reserves to $29b/$30b despite the immense petrol dollar earned within same period? Is it propaganda that Jonathan and Okonjo Iweala, ran down government savings rather than build on what they inherited? Or are verifiable statistics propaganda? Is it Adeosun that was giving import waivers to cronies and signing off unbudgeted funds to the blessed ATM Dasuki? We are talking of the state of our economy, yet you are rejoicing in a resignation and gloating that someone else cannot be sacked? Is twitter feeding the Nigerians that started losing jobs in the oil sector from late 2014? Did standard chartered pay the FG counterpart funding for oil projects that Okonjo Iweala did not pay throughout her regime despite the oil revenue made? Did your somebody status stop the nobody electorate from sacking Jonathan? If class was permanent, why didn't Okonjo Iweala try to keep the debt profile, the foreign reserves and government savings and price of commodities permanent at the value she met them in 2011? Despite the immense income, everything nose dived while the only things that went up were government debt and prices of commodities. |
FarahAideed:A direct primary has no preselected delegates. It is the registered party members that will vote at the ward level all over the state since it is for a statewide position. So if indeed Ambode losses a direct primary, it is because his own party members rejected him. That is the best of democracy. If you still claim it is Tinubu's doing, then it only underscores how powerful and well rooted Tinubu is to the grass. I however do not subscribe to Ambode selling his soul to have the blessings of Tinubu. He should brace it like a man. If he losses, so be it, the party made a democratic choice. As for Tinubu, he would be making a fatal gamble if he opts to sideline Ambode because he wants more control over the governance of Lagos state. Ambode may not be popular with the APC party members, but he is popular with the Lagos electorate. The lesson in all these is that if you are a lackey, you will always stay a lackey. Ambode was a nobody when he was "imposed" by Tinubu, hence his inability to succeed in a test of popularity within the party via direct primary 4yrs later. |
mekaboy:Enough with this APC governors rubbish. When was APC formed? Which party had the majority governors from 2011 to 2014? Which party formed the leadership of the Nigerian Governors Forum? Why was Okonjo Iweala making illegal withdrawals from the ECA without FAAC approval? Were the governors (PDP, APC, APGA) not right in saying that the FG was holding on to the ECA funds while already spending out of it without their own approvals? Was it the ECA savings that was being shared that made the Foreign Reserves drop from $47b in 2010 to $29b/$30b in 2015? Was it the ECA sharing that made a government that was selling crude at $100/barrel from 2010 to 2014, to borrow billions of dollars during same period. What did the regime of Jonathan have to show for all the oil revenue, ECA sharing, Foreign Reserves plundering, and borrowing? Is it the almajiri schools, the new federal universities and 2nd hand trains that gulped all of these funds, minus the sum dedicated to the blessed ATM Dasuki? Image credit to loannes.

LordAdam:It is certainly no coincidence that this allegation came up after her clampdown on that insubordinate fellow. |
arewafederation:Don't mind the emotional empty head. I have tabled facts and statistics, he has blabbed and blabbed and even helped to defeat his own argument. Now he has gone emotional and unable to present his own facts to show us how Adeosun put us in a recession without a global meltdown, as though the oil price slump that has ruined many countries' economy is a global tea party. He has been unable to show us how Okonjo Iweala helped to manage any global financial crisis that never happened during any of her stints, except for the oil price slump that saw her borrowing to pay civil servant salaries after already running down all government savings and dwindling the foreign reserves she inherited at a time government was making so much crude oil revenue never before made in the history of Nigerian oil production. |
kernel001:So that I mention facts and figures and statistics is hate? Just admit you are an empty head who does not even know common recent history. |
She was just plain stupid and criminal in forging an NYSC certificate with the aide of NYSC officials. This is the same NYSC exemption that Diezani Madueke obtained on the eve of her becoming a minister under Yar'Adua as Vice President Jonathan's candidate. Some have even opined Diezani Madueke never got any NYSC exemption, yet she still held public office. |
kernel001:Then you can see you are just blabbing by comparing borrowing at a time when government revenue is low, to borrowing at a time government revenue was very high. Jonathan and Okonjo Iweala inherited a sound economy and savings and foreign reserves. Please tell what manner of economy they handed over to Buhari and Adeosun? Should we start with the debt factor? Should we start with the foreign reserves factor? Should we start with the savings and ECA factor? Should we start with the oil price factor? Are you ready to talk facts figures and statistics, as opposed to the emotional history that you have shown you do not even know about, considering you do not even know what exact periods that Okonjo Iweala was in office as Finance Minister during the Obasanjo regime and Jonathan regime? |
kernel001:Why did she borrow at all in a regime that was selling crude at $100/barrel? Did the borrowing not occur alongside running down the foreign reserves and other government savings? So why are you then surprised that another regime that met crude oil falling from $50/barrel to as low as $27/barrel, would not borrow more since Okonjo and Jonathan had already made sure to finish all of the savings with the foreign reserves already gasping for breath. You want to compare oil revenue at $100/barrel to oil revenue at $27/barrel? If Okonjo Iweala met oil at $65/barrel during her first stint from 2003 to 2006, was that not a good growth she met, considering that was a very good rise in oil prices at that time, having been less that $20/barrel in 1999 when Adamu Ciroma was Finance Minister? How do you then compare that to Adeosun who had to work with $50/barrel slumping to $27/barrel in 2016, when it was a decline from a previous steady high of $100/barrel from 2010 to 2014? So how do you compare someone who met an oil price in ascendance to someone who met it in free fall from a very high peak? What exactly did Okonjo Iweala achieve with Crude Oil selling at $100/barrel from 2011 to 2014, before the oil price decline started? What did the Jonathan regime achieve with Crude Oil selling at $100/barrel from 2010 to 2014, before the decline? Where did all the previous inherited foreign reserves go to? How come previous regimes who did not earn half of what Jonathan and Iweala earned from oil sales, were able to save more and build up the foreign reserves, only to have those ones run all dry despite the immense oil revenue during their wasteful tenure? |
kernel001:Okonko Iweala was minister of Finance from 2003 to 2006, when she was removed from Finance to External affairs. There was no global meltdown during Iweala's tenure, so learn history before you speak rubbish. Rather, she used a period of immense oil revenue that should have improved government savings to pile up debt and run down all government savings. Then later warn us that recession is coming. Most of the $12b we paid back to Paris club was already saved up during the tenure of Mallam Adamu Ciroma, who was Finance Minister in Obasanjo's 1st term. Okonjo Iweala has always been a spender and she did not save even 1kobo during her 4 year stint with the Johnathan administration from 2011 to 2015. Rather she increased the debt profile at a time Nigeria earned its highest revenue from oil. In fact, because crude oil prices had only fallen below $60/barrel just 7months after it had been selling for over $100/barrel since her tenure with the Johnathan regime began in 2011, yet she was already on a borrowing spree to the tune of N470 ($3b then) to pay February, March and April 2015 salaries as revealed by herself. What did Okonjo Iweala do with all the oil revenue during her tenure when our oil income was 51% of all the oil revenue Nigeria had earned since 1956? How did our Foreign Reserves drop from $47b in 2010 to $29b/30b in 2015, despite earning more from oil which accounts for over 90% of our foreign reserves, when compared to what was earned by the previous governments of OBJ and Yar'Adua who were able to save more with oil selling at half the price that it sold under Jonathan. How come the Jonathan government when Iweala was minister of Finance, did not pay the FG share of counterpart funding for JV oil projects totalling over $5b? This resulted in many planned oil development projects being abandoned by the oil firms and leading to lots of job losses in the oil industry and support industries from late 2014 onwards when the oil price crises began gathering storm. So with Okonjo Iweala during the Jonathan regime, we did not save, we did not pay FG share of counterpart funding, we did not invest in diversifying our economy, we bought 2nd hand trains and overpriced and malfunctioning military equipment, we gave import waivers to government cronies, we over bloated our oil subsidy scheme, we ran down the foreign reserves and all other government savings, she made withdrawals from ECA without approval from FAAC and is on record to have lied about it so many times before finally admitting when Gov Adams Oshiomhole will not let her tell lies peacefully, we borrowed so much, then equipped the blessed ATM Dasuki to be vending out unbudgeted security funds without requiring security PIN. Embarrassingly, she as Finance Minister had no idea that the NNPC was short changing the FG, and only woke up to her responsibilities when the CBN governor made allegations that about $20b that should accrue to the federal purse from oil sales is missing. Only then did Okonjo Iweala come up with her own calculations that indeed money that should accrue did not, but it was a lesser amount of $10b. Imagine a Finance Minister who had no clue of missing government revenue. What then was the benefit of her superior education? All of these were done without any tangible infrastructure to show for all the money spent. Except casual warnings of an impending recession by the very person who should have worked a solution. That was Okonjo Iweala's legacy as Finance Minister from 2011 - 2015. |
She should be sacked/resign and be prosecuted or she defend herself on the weighty allegation of forgery. |
It seems Buhari cannot help himself but be himself, even when such actions would spell his doom. |
chiagozien:So says an Igboman, one of many who have vowed to destroy Buhari and his government, both physically and psychologically. Keep up the good propaganda. Ogun state will certainly be replaced in the cabinet, as all states must be represented in the typical Nigerian fashion of economic waste that is constitutional. However, there is no rule that says a minister's replacement in a cabinet portfolio must come from the same state. |
