Politics › Re: Battle For Lagos: Ambode Turns To God As APC Elders Seal His Fate by Throwback: 7:56am On Sep 22, 2018
micolaj:
The final say is not with Tinubu; it is with GOD.
There is no God factored into the design of a democracy.

Rather, a godfather was factored into the design.

Power belongs to who the people choose to give it too as it tickles their fancy.
Politics › Re: Battle For Lagos: Ambode Turns To God As APC Elders Seal His Fate by Throwback:
Coachaminu:
Suddenly, it appears as if the masses have no say on the matter....what a country. Will the fate of Lagos be determined by one man?
Masses can vote in an election, but party members vote in a primary, especially a direct primary as the APC intends.

If Ambode is afraid of a direct primary because he knows his own registered party masses/members would not support him, is it then the democratic way to be imposed by Tinubu like he was in his 1st term?

This same Ambode went out of his way to ensure he disgraced Fashola who had earlier allegedly fired/retired him from his civil service job and was not supporting him for the ticket as he presented Supo Sasore for the primary that Ambode eventually won due to Tinubu's support.

If Ambode losses a direct primary because he does not have the support of party bigwigs, then that is the best of democracy and party politics as it is obtainable even in the US where aspirants court the support of influential party bigwigs.

He should accept his loss as a victory for democratic choice.

I have come to realise that the people who criticise Tinubu the most, are those who are offended that he did not impose them like he had earlier done to give them political recognition in the past. An example being Gov Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State who as Tinubu's imposed candidate in 2013 lost the Ondo governorship to Mimiko, but was crying foul that same Tinubu wanted to "impose" Segun Abraham on APC in 2017 because he wanted to be reimposed by Tinubu.

AZeD1:
This post is an example of fake news.

Fashola's candidate for 2015 wasn't Hamzat it was Olasupo Shasore.
I have been reading that rubbish assertion since this Ambode reelection matter started.

Thankfully, someone else knows the real events of the Ambode imposition by Tinubu in 2015.

Why exactly does Ambode want to be imposed again by Tinubu in 2019, after ensuring his administration disgraced Fashola for not supporting his imposition by ensuring there was an opponent to Ambode at that Lagos APC primary of 2014?

Ambode should face the direct primary and start campaigning to registered party members of APC, instead of waiting for the ticket on a platter of gold like his 1st term.

The best of democracy is direct primaries, and the loser cannot fault his loss beyond the fact that the ordinary party members chose someone else legitimately.

How will the congratulatory wish of an illiterate and irresponsible deadbeat dad affect Linda Ikeji?

Abi u want make Baby J self get a deadbeat dad? grin
How can a person be called illiterate when he is already educated?

Or is it tertiary education to learn and master a skill or vocation for economic reward, that makes one literate instead of the primary and secondary education that is actually designed to bring about literacy?

As long as one has completed secondary education, literacy has been achieved at the highest level possible. Tertiary education after that is then a matter of choice if indeed it is required, and the likes of Wizkid and Messi have proven that they do not require it with an economic vocation that does not require it.

University education is for those who need it to acquire an economic skill or vocation or just want knowledge for the sake of the curious mind.

Saraki is not Yoruba, That he is married to a Yoruba woman doesn't make him a Yoruba man, you guys should stop that cheap Propaganda of him being a Yoruba man, as a matter of fact he can not win South west, not when Tinubu Political structures are still in place..
Kogi and Nassarawa are still Buhari catchment. and Buhari will get 25% in Akwa Ibom and Delta for the first time in history...

If you still doubt Saraki Ethnic group Wikipedia---
Olusola Saraki was born on the 17th of May, 1933 at Ilorin, Kwara State and died in Lagos November 14, 2012.[1] His mother was from Iseyin in Oyo State and his father was from Ilorin. His paternal ancestors were Fulanis who came from Mali about 150 to 200 years earlier.
From what you have quoted and being claimed by the Sarakis themselves, the only relationship that makes them Nigerian is their Yoruba ancestry and not their Malian ancestory.

Hence the reason Oloye Olusola Saraki was born by a Yoruba woman and married a Yoruba woman and his children including Bukola married into the Yoruba tribe.

The Sarakis always ensure to marry into the Yoruba tribe

Or you want Nigerians to vote for a Malian as president because his Malian ancestors settled in Nigeria?

A Malian cannot be president of Nigeria. Let Saraki return to Bamako.

That is what his opponents will use against him and Bukola will suddenly claim he is a Yoruba Nigerian and not a descendant of Malian immigrants in Nigeria.

This man never claimed to have done NYSC, so no crime has been committed.

Rather than do NYSC upon finishing Law School, he at that same year proceeded to a political elective post in Oyo State Assembly, which he claimed did not require National Service and has not been disproved.

If the role of Federal Minister requires National Service unlike his former State Assembly role, then how did he pass through the screening?

If state political elective office does not suffice as National Service, then he should resign or be sacked and those who screened him should also be sacked.

As a Diaspora Nigerian, the government might even ask him why he did not leave Canada to do NYSC in Nigeria when he graduated donkey years ago, since he knew he would later develop interest in his Nigerian roots.

They will tell him no government contract without NYSC discharge or exemption. Infact, if he is interested in any contract with government, he must return as an adult and undertake the 1yr National Service he is owing Nigeria before any business deals can be entertained by the government.

Hahahahaha!

Mr Diaspora, abeg focus on your business wherever you get it. Worry not about Nigeria and the things they would rather hold in high regard.

I believe even the grandfather and grandmother corpers you witnessed, are a ruse and illegality given the cover of legitimacy.

if you hate them so much that you will be using what some group of misguided people has done in the past to taunt them ,why don't you let them be on their own in their Biafra..
how can a Nigerian hate another Nigerian because of an event that happened long before most were born.
if it is to postrate before Mr asiwere tinuofo or shout sai baba, you are good.
as if igbos are the people that said Nigeria should be the headquarters of shithole republic.
Haven't you heard that Igbos hate Awolowo for daring to contest and win the Premiership of his own tribal region ahead of Azikiwe who was also contesting for same position on a different party?

For daring to campaign to his people and win among his people, Igbos say Awolowo introduced tribal politics in Nigeria and denied an Igboman the birthright of his forefathers on foreign soil.

They still hate Yorubas because of Awolowo, while we Yorubas just laugh at them for the unserious clowns that they are.

You're an absolutely vile creature!

I just engage you here to draw out that vileness and memorialise it for everyone to see and refer back to! These type of threads as terrible as they are are necessary to show my naive 'one Nigeria' kinsfolk just what we're up against and the type of murderous characters they want us to continue sharing the same country with!

You see, you're buttressing the point i made earlier about you sitting on the fence....giving the lame excuse that it's not your duty or that of the Yoruba to encourage or facilitate the Biafran secession bid! What a cop out! Dude, if i were sharing the same country with a people that are as troublesome and a danger to my people as you make the Igbo out to be, i'd support in a heartbeat any plans they have to secede so my people can be safe and share the country only with 'angels' and 'saints' like you suggest! Now we have the Biafrans/Igbos/IPOB that feel they're sharing the same country with a people having a medieval, vindictive and murderous disposition! You don't see us sitting on the fence saying it's the job of these people to leave 'one Nigeria' if they so wish....rather you see us actively doing something about it, knowing that the survival and progress of our people as a race depends on us distancing ourselves from these type of people! On the other hand, you see these people accusing us of hate and sending their murderous armies into Igbo land to bully, intimidate and kill us in cold-blood! We have the blood of our innocent kinsmen as evidence to show just how serious we are to extricate ourselves from sharing the same country with hateful schmucks like you....what can you show as evidence that YOU throwback wants to extricate your own people from sharing the same country with a people you and the OP have painted in such unflattering colours and accused of being antithetical to the interests of the Yoruba if one of them they ever becomes president!

The day Ndigbo start taking advice from a bigoted spawn of lucifer like you is the day i'll book them all up for an appointment to see a shrink! You mean you want IPOB/Biafrans to take advantage of Nigerias' flawed political system.....vote in people sympathetic to the cause, and seek to influence the rest of Nigeria at 'the discussion table' in which the core muslim north that are prepared to murder for the continuation of 'one Nigeria' outnumber us three-to-one? Dude, what are you smoking? You actually think the 'owners of Nigeria' are gonna stand by and let individuals sympathetic to the break-up of Nigeria contest election, never mind allowing them to win it? In any case, you all have seen the kind of treacherous and lilly-livered elite we are dealing with in Igboland! I think it was on the day of the sit-at-home or a day after, i saw on the news a rogues gallery of so called traditional rulers from Abia go to Aso Rock to kiss Buharis' butt! These are traditional rulers from a state where the fulani military kidnapped on of their own, his wife and son (Mazi Kanu) since last year, yet they go to Abuja to tell Buhari he's doing a 'marvellous job'! Sure he is.....if doing a marvellous job means sending your murderous kinsfolk down to the southeast to lay waste the region, murder innocent protesters and kidnap the man and his parents you see as a stumbling block to the continuation of the farce you call Nigeria!

You're one pathetic SOB mate! So you accuse Igbos of hate on what basis? Is it based on what you read here on this faceless forum, or are their actual instances in real life you care to refer to? How do you know those people you accuse on here of disrespecting and riling-up your people are actually all Igbo? Heck, you claim to be Yoruba.....i even have my doubts about that! shocked The ethnic groups Ndigbo accuse of having some among them who hate on us and have made hate speeches against us....we can show you concrete proof of this: remember the anti-Igbo speeches and assertions of Akintola and the Sadauna; remember the killings of Igbos in the north in the 50s; remember the pogroms of Igbos in the north in 66/67; remember Asaba massacre; remember talk of shooting anything and everything in Biafra that moves; remember the starvation policy in Biafra....dreamt up when the plucky Biafran soldiers were proving too difficult to defeat via conventional warfare; remember all the numerous religious riots and killings in the north in the 70s, 80s and 90s; remember the killing of youth corpers in 2011 in the north (some of who were Igbo....and Yoruba as well); remember all the talk of Igbos never being allowed to be president of Nigeria (statements made by the very same people who cheer on python dance in the east); remember Oba Akiolus' talk of drowning any Igbo that doesn't support the APC in the Lagos Lagoon; remember that doctor in the US that boldly and openly supported the killing of Igbos; remember the deportation of Igbos from Lagos to Upper Iweka by Fashola; dude, i could go on and on! These are verifiable instances when others have openly shown hate to the Igbos you accuse of hate! NOW YOU LIST CONCRETE EVIDENCE TO SHOW THE HATE OF IGBOS TOWARDS YOUR KINSFOLK AND OTHER ETHNICITIES!

I can even show you instances where northern elite have made disparaging remarks against the Yoruba, but of course that one doesn't matter to throwback since it's the northerner muslims saying it! It's when the Igbos say Lagos is no-mans-land that you get hot under the collar, jab a finger in their direction pointedly and scream 'hate speech...hate speech'! There are numerous instances where the Hausa/Fulani have engaged Yoruba in a deadly fight ON YORUBA LAND, yet according to throwback that is an expression of love! shocked Care to mention how many times, if any, Yoruba and Igbo have engaged in deadly street battles in Yorubaland?

Dude, i don't know the kind of psychological problems you face that makes you see black as white and ignore your moral-compass whn it's Igbos involved, but you seriously need help....ASAP!
The emotional Igbo cry baby at his best.

Cry to the UN and ICC for telling you your shameful history.

Azikiwe is a nationalist for telling all who cared to listen about how his Igbo tribe would dominate the independent Nigeria.

But Akintola is anti Igbo and a tribalist for alerting his Yoruba people to the execution of that domination agenda that was being played out at the university of Ibadan, a federal university?

The same University where Azikiwe kept on appointing a succession of 3 Igbos to be the Chairman of the school council?

Where an Igbo led council ensured a junior Prof Kenneth Dike was appointed Principal ahead of the pioneering African professor in the whole school and most senior African on the academic board, Prof Oladele Ajose who was a medical doctor. And when same Kenneth Dike was reluctant to accept the position he knew he wasn't the most qualified Nigerian, the Igbo school council chairman Francis Akanu Ibiam replied that the school would have to look outside for other candidates rather than consider the other qualified and more senior Nigerians, just because they are not the most senior Igbo which was the only merit required.

Same Kenneth Dike went on to recruit as school principal, and out of 115 recruited, only 3 Yorubas merited employment while the bulk of the rest went to the East.

So that Akintola had the effrontery to call out the tribalism and nepotism of the Igbos, he was an Igbo hating tribalist who deserved to die?
