ArinzeAnthony03:Did you read that it is a new budget or an expenditure already made this year? It is 2023 budget performance records that has resulted to all the disclosures being scrutinized for all the state governments. Or no be this year Tinubu become President? |
Kukutente23:Why do we like making assertions that are not true? He clearly pointed out the kind of mistake he was referring to. He insisted that the state government will continue to publish its records and people are welcome to always scrutinize and give feedback. |
Kukutente23:Abi naa. |
Magnoliaa:Are you so childish not to know that many have even been sentenced to life or even to death only to have the case reviewed and found innocent? Did that mean the crime for which they were tried and convicted, and later absolved did not occur? Were those cases not decided ones that got undecided? I asked what evidence besides the accusation was considered to lead to the guilty verdict? Are you not interested in that? Or do I walk up to you and accuse you of any crime and that becomes your automatic conviction? Did you read anywhere that the accused confessed to the crime, which is what is truly termed a decided case? I also painted a broad scenario of what is possible in these times and I advised people to avoid finding themselves in such messy situation, but that has made you so unhappy? I wonder why? |
Magnoliaa:Why is it somehow? If there is no contact or encounter between a victim and the culprit, you eliminate the occurrence of a crime and the painful existence of a victim, you eliminate a false allegation, you also eliminate a crime that has been committed but another become the scapegoat. Why would you find risk elimination as somehow? Is it that you want such situation to continue because there will be a judgement at the end of it? That there is judgement, so no need to prevent the crime? |
Jews want to tell SouthAfricans how to protest, not minding that SouthAfricans already told them they are no different from the apartheid government that previously ruled SouthAfrica. Jews now thinking of how they will cancel this African who is making a living within Africa. |
Amotolongbo:LOL! |
Johnken1234:These are mostly reports for Q3 2023, not next year's budget. All the news you have been reading about Lagos, Abia, or Osun, are all for expenditure already made withing a 3month period of Q3 2023. It is the 2023 budget performance that is being reviewed for different quarters that is already concluded for this year. |
Eriokanmi:That one no be corporate price naa. There will always be markup price and also to be provided by a registered company who have a business to run and staff to pay. Even the little work hand tools and safety gear used in engineering companies, get supplied at almost double the price by their licensed suppliers. The point I am trying to make is that if it was even as high as N100k, does the state need 731 copies of the portrait to put in their offices all over the state and each local government? |
This is not good. It is both serious and ridiculous. Except he will "explain" also. |
Eriokanmi:That has to be the official portrait of the President that will be put in all the Lagos State Government offices. It certainly is not for 1 portrait as there is need for many portraits, but the number is not disclosed I reckon, so we cannot say if the cost is justified. At an exorbitant but corporate rate of N100k per portrait, that will be 731 portraits. You will see Tinubu everywhere you go, so your hope can be renewed on a steady. |
This one need to be locked up for good. |
I supported you to fight corruption and bring about efficiency in the civil service and political service. You failed on those 2 counts. You and your team did not have the capacity to deliver on those 2 key interests of mine. |
tollyboy5:Go and ask lawyers how much they collect. You think Ozekhome collects chicken change from PDP and LP? Or you think all the top SANs like Wole Olanipekun would even collect N50m peanuts for their briefs? Didn't PDP pay Afe Babalola about N150m in the mid 2000s just to sign document during the Obasanjo regime? Stop talking like someone sunk in poverty and ignorance. |
GRV keeps disgracing himself. |
jamesversion:That fellow is too emotional to be a relevant witness or judge in such matters. He/She has implied in his/her own comments what was not implied in the comments quoted, and has even invented a crime that was not disclosed in the news report. |
luminouz:It is unfortunate that because I asked what the report did not disclose about the other evidence as mentioned by the judge, that made the accusation very air tight besides the word of the victims, is why that fellow is going off on a tangential. Such people are so emotional that they are so quick to dispense justice by even aiding the very criminal who might be at the background pointing fingers at the innocent. |
PHAYOL81:It is not defensive, but takes a very broader look at this crime. Was there really a crime? Was the crime possibly staged? If indeed there was a crime, was the accused the actual culprit? As much as children are innocent, they are also very programmable by adults and used as a weapon against another unsuspecting adult. Having witnessed things around me and read up on news around the world on same and similar topic, I have made my advise to men who are both guilty and innocent. And the guilty and innocent can easily switch places as regards this crime, just by the very accusation of it. Even the guilty can spearhead the accusation against the innocent, and justice eventually denied to both the actual victim and the accused. |
epainos:Where in my previous opinion did I discuss anything about sexual attraction or claimed anyone seduced the other? Anybody guilty or innocent can enter jail. You only need to be accused without any proper alibi to your defence and that is all. And even more so when those responsible for adjudicating are as emotional and sentimental as you are. It is a shame that all you could extract from my warnings and condemnation, is that I questioned what evidence besides the allegations of the victims, decided the case against the accused. Learn from the words of wisdom as I have posited or continue to put yourself in a position were accusation can easily be made against you even when you are innocent. I have directly witnessed how 11yr old girls in school accused their own male classmates of all sorts. If the teachers were like you, the innocent young boys would have been damaged for life because in your opinion, the 11yr old girls are too innocent to come up with such a grand scheme as they did. Even you as a male or female parent of those boys would have contributed to their damage, and begging them to own up to their crimes The truth came out eventually by a last minute mistake made by the accusers, and the punishment of expulsion already reserved for the boys as the victory the "innocent" girls wanted over some other issues they had with the boys, became the reward the girls received for having such a wickedly creative mind. |
As an adult male, learn to stay away from young kids who are not your relation. As in, never let them into any house or room you occupy. Most especially as a landlord, avoid the kids of your tenants, especially that tenant who is not ready for peace in the house. Never be found helping the children with any task or assignment. I would like to know what the prosecution proved with the testimony of the children. As for those who cannot live their lives without a pedophile perversion, better you send yourselves on exile before your crimes would send you to captivity. Lastly, parents should be very mindful of who and where their children have access to. There is no innocence in this world anymore. Both the accused and the accuser can easily be the victim of each other. Even an actual pedophile can program his victims to accuse another innocent fellow of his own crimes. |
Ttalk:But did you see the defence that has been put up by the Abia State Government, that many state agencies are captured under the government House, hence the seemingly outrageous amount for anything listed as for the Governor? So my argument is still right that misinformation plays a great deal in the criticisms we make in our politics. |
Which faction is he addressing? If you think Obaseki would let LP breathe in Edo, then you must be blind to the character he has shown when dealing with his deputy. LP need a victory somewhere, anywhere, to show that they should be taken seriously. Unfortunately, what Gov Peter Obi used to do to Labour Party when he was the Godfather of APGA, is what the Labour Party would still face in Edo State. Peter Obi knew the power he had and exploited as Governor and state Godfather, that was why he was begging Wike to let LP take Rivers while he would sacrifice the Labour Party gubernatorial candidate without even consulting her on her sick bed. That is the same power Obaseki has been showing and would show Abure and Labour Party. No politician in Nigeria who has held power and won re-election, is a saint.
|
PDP, APC, LP, Nigerians. All the same. |
Obaofpigs:They will explain too. Is it ever hard to explain? Will the explanation from the Lagos State Government not show accountability too as you have accepted it from Otti? Are you not the very idiot you are projecting towards others? You are the very idiot of the Abia State explanation, while others would be the idiots of the Lagos State explanation. Then the cycle continues for the budget of 2025. |
I said it would be justified. Abia State has set the standard of explanation for all the other state governments. All the agencies of the government are under the budget of the government House. We continue again with 2025 budget, when we ignorantly or partisanly criticize, and those in power "explain". What is evident is that budgeting should not be worded like shorthand. Implicit details should be made explicit for every illiterate to understand so they do not waste their energy criticising. |
N3b to purchase rechargeable fans because the previous ones are all faulty and these ones would be for the whole Alausa Secretariat? |
AncientAlien:Exactly! |
Brendaniel:You are failing to see that there is a pattern here that goes beyond age bracket, gender, faith, or political association. Why does this pattern continue to perpetuate? If Peter Obi had won and was in power during this turbulent start to a new regime, Tinubu would have told us how he would have done things better. If only Buhari was elected as President, he would have dealt seriously with kwarruption. Guess what? Buhari was indeed President for 8yrs and corruption stood gallantly and was even asking "which Presidency?" So don't be too concerned about the personalities, but the cycle that seem to continue unabated, and the protest of innocence from those in position of power. |
Brendaniel:Note that this matter is not about stealing which is an actual crime, but about what is moral even when it is completely legal. It was not illegal for Buhari to travel abroad for healthcare as Nigerian President, but it was a moral burden owing to the fact that he fiercely criticized previous Presidents for doing same. Whatever Otti is spending is not a crime as long as it has been budgeted for and within the limits of that budget. The same budget was already reviewed by the legislature to determine the merits or otherwise, and a final and likely adjusted document was approved. What I am saying about Aisha, and you, and me, is that what we have criticized as laymen, we would also be criticized for same or similar when we join the clergy. |
Goodoldays:Certainly, he will provide an explanation that will not reduce the amount and would not assuage the anger of those who think such amount is not justified. I have no particular love or hate for Gov Otti, but I have over many disappointments from the political leadership, realise that sometimes we the followers are not informed enough to make a rational objection or counter claim to what we oppose. Maybe it is something that political scientists and sociologists need to ponder upon. Why do we always feel the next set failed us after they had joined us to criticise the previous set? And in all cases, each set swore that they never betrayed us. Would you and I also been seen as traitors to those who remain behind waiting for their own turn to betray? |
Brendaniel:I have completed my statement in that post. And my opinion stems from the fact that I am also a critic who has found disappointment with other critics who finally got to high position, only to perpetuate the very thing they critiqued when they were laymen. What then is my own fate when I find myself in position of power? |
Brendaniel:At what iteration of this cycle would you realise that something else we have not accounted for as laymen is at play? Is it when Aisha gets to power and you criticize her own spending, only for you forming saint now to get to power, then I criticize your own spending which you would defend as would Aisha defend hers, just as Otti would also defend his own now, just as as Ikpeazu defended his own? I ask again, until what iteration do we take a more critical and educated look at matters we criticize that is outside of our competencies? |
