PoliticsRe: Aisha Yesufu Reacts As Governor Otti Spends ₦927M On Food, Others by Throwback: 6:25pm On Nov 20, 2023
I can wager all my savings that Aisha would get to such a role and her "meal budget" would surpass what she criticized.

Something that we are yet to properly grasp is the root cause of our misunderstanding or our misinformation, leading to criticisms and false standards that we ourselves cannot hold up to when we get to power.

I posit again like I always do.

The state and national assemblies whose responsibility it is to audit the respective state and national budgets, already found nothing wrong with the legally appropriated amount, either as the original amount that was presented to them, or the final amount that they reduced it to in the discharge of their duties.

Yet the layman on the street still finds an uneducated reason to think the amount is not justified.
PoliticsRe: Aisha Yesufu Reacts As Governor Otti Spends ₦927M On Food, Others by Throwback: 6:13pm On Nov 20, 2023
Maybe the question you all need to ask is if indeed such expenditure is justified, but the title or wording in the budget and cost reports do not do justice to the full scope of what it covers.

What I am saying is that Aisha and all those who spend all of their time criticising, oneday find themselves in power, and their so called "feeding budget" is also in the billions too.

Then something is fundamentally wrong with what we know, what we are told, and what we criticise, only to get to power and realise we have only been criticising like illiterates and beer parlour analysts.

Didn't Buhari insist there was nothing like subsidy before he got to power and continued paying it?

Didn't Fashola insist that a serious government would solve power problems in 6months like Bola Ige also claimed in 1999, only for both to fail in that very portfolio despite spending beyond 6months as the Minister in charge?

Did Tinubu's aide and now Minister, Dele Alake, and his current media aide Bayo Onanuga, not claim that a serious government did not need more than 1month to nominate Ministers? Are we unaware of how the Tinubu Presidency managed to beat the 60days deadline set by Buhari, by presenting incomplete list of nominees?

So we have seen old governments fail, and have also seen the erstwhile critics even fail the more when saddled with the responsibility they yearned for.

It is time we cool off on the illiterate criticisms and outlandish expectations that Rome must be built in a day, even when the bricks and the Masons are yet to be provided.

It is time uninformed Nigerians should stop being foolish in their criticism of government budget they do not understand.

The national and state assemblies that are in the position to know and audit such expenditures have deemed them to be appropriate for the allocated procurement of goods and services.

I am happy this has come up under a Labour Party government, so now some are already using their brain to know that things are expensive and not for the singular need of the Governor or his family.

All eyes on LP. Everyone expects leadership from LP just because of a name made by one person, Obi. It's a good thing but remember that we didn't market LP as a party. Instead, we marketed a person who happened to be in LP at the time. PO can't control what Otti does in Abia when he isn't yet the President.

So why were you all shouting that LP be voted from top to bottom?

The far right always come to power only for people to realise they actually want the liberal freedom allowed by the far left.

Then the far left come to power, then the people realise this freedom of morals, anti religious liberalism would not do the family unit and society any good, then find themselves yearning for the far right again.

mytime24:
APC judge will sack half them
You need to first of all celebrate this "victory for democracy", since the party you hate did not win.

Then later worry if there is rigging or faulty party primaries, that will nullify the exercise as a waste of time.

I am enjoying how Nigerian Judges are dealing with political parties that don't follow the electoral laws.

Like how APC worked for victory in Zamfara in 2019, only to lose every single elected office to PDP.

Or how APC defeated PDP in Bayelsa in 2019, only to lose the victory due to certificate anomaly of the running mate of the winning ticket.

The problem with Nigeira is that we have never been used to justice, so always assumed that anything goes.

Many parties and candidates will learn the hard way like Rotimi Amaechi became Rivers Governor without contesting election, simply because he was the rightful winner of the PDP primaries ahead of Celestine Omehia.

The law is the law, and has no regard for anyone's emotions.

Racoon:
These days, however, some judges in Nigeria are not shy about announcing which political side has penetrated their judicial orifices. They are not merely contumelious but choose to advertise it.

The courts no longer even pretend to tether their pronouncements to any sense of principle, precedent or proportion. To use an expression originated by our neighbours in Cameroon, judicial mercenarism now manifests itself in an open jurisprudence of “buy am; sell am.”
These days, many critics like Chidi are not shy about announcing their partisanship.

I wonder which side penetrated the judges that gave Peter Obi his Court victory to overturn the electoral victory of Ngige who had ruled for almost 3years as Anambra Governor?

Which side penetrated the Judges that nullified all of the victory of APC in Zamfara State in 2019, and made the losing PDP take over a Governorship and State Aseembly they never won?

Which side penetrated the Judges that gave the Governorship to the losing PDP in Bayelsa after the people have voted for the APC overwhelmingly , only to be undone a day to the inauguration ceremony owing to court judgement on the academic credentials of the APC running mate?

Justice is justice and has no need to please the preferences of Igbos, either as the losers or the spectators who have chosen the side to support.

The only option left to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to contain the situation and do some form of damage control is to immediately fire infantile Nuhu Ribadu.
Tinubu should sack Nuhu Ribadu because of Buhari that never lifts a finger to help any political associate?

I laugh in cash scarcity.

Amaechi and Osinbajo are still waiting for Buhari's consensus candidate.

I remember the common talks of 2021/2022....

"Instead for Tinubu or any Yoruba man to have it, let Fulani rule forever", "we will rather support a goat than any Yoruba man in 2023" etc etc

It turned out that these same people wanted Yorubas to unanimously support their fraudulent "Messiah" and accused Yorubas of tribalism for not giving him 100% votes.
The greatest fear of the Igbos in the immediate years leading up to the 2023 presidential election, was having a strong Yoruba politician on the ballot.

They knew that a Yoruba vs Igbo contest for Nigerian Presidency would result to Yoruba victory owing to the better national politics of Yorubas compared to the Igbos who think power should nit be campaigned for and continued to burn bridges throughout the Buhari regime.

So knowing their own weaknesses, they tried their best to destroy the image of Tinubu whom they already knew to be the strongest Yoruba politician.

While simultaneously showing the Northerners that they will rather support them than have another Yoruba be President before any Igbo.

This was what gave courage to the likes of the desperate Atiku who expected that inspite of taking the Igbo turn in PDP, same Igbos would still support him over any Yoruba. Then he also wrongly overestimated his own relevance in the North, and underestimated the Northern political structures of Tinubu.

Obi's candidacy outside of the PDP, ensured that almost all Igbo votes were denied Atiku.

That is why we say Obi and Igbos destiny was to ensure Tinubu and Yoruba success against their own previous wish to prevent such from happening.

I pray my enemy will continue to inadvertently work for my success.

They are the same clowns who posited between 2011 and 2015, that no Northern Muslim will ever rule Nigeria again.

That they have formed a SouthSouth / SouthEast / MiddleBelt Christian alliance to control power in Nigeria forever, based on the votes that Jonathan secured in the 2011 election.

They did not even consider that Jonathan won in the SouthWest.

2015 election shocked them when even the MiddleBelt Christians they put in their alliance voted for Buhari.

Since then they worked overtime to demonise Yorubas in a bid to ensure we are politically ostracised, yet they continue to fail.

How do you feel now?

It is now in Yoruba court to ensure that rather than any Igbo get the Presidency in 2039, we Yorubas will vote massively for any SouthSouth tribe.

This your wicked and bigoted politics, your generation of Igbos will suffer for it.

The best chance for any Igbo Presidency is 2055, not earlier.

This current generation will pay for their bigotry.

PoliticsRe: Nigeria Withdraws $1 Billion Claim Against Eni by Throwback: 8:02am On Nov 18, 2023
FreeStuffsNG:
Our chance of getting the civil claims against ENI and Shell at the Italian court looks slim after the court declared that ENI and Shell are not guilty.

The person who caused the main problem is a Bayelsan, Chief Dan Etete, former Petroleum Resources Minister, who with Late Gen Abacha, awarded themselves those two juicy oil licenses and instead of paying $20m still shortchanged Nigeria by paying $2m. It was a scam on Nigeria similar to the scale of P&ID.

After a decade of the litigation and the assets left idle, it's a good idea for us to get ENI and Shell to develop the asset and start producing while EFCC continues with the prosecution and seizure of assets belonging to everyone who collected the $1.3 billion ENI and Shell paid Nigeria , from which GEJ approved over $800m be paid to Dan Etete, his fellow Ijaw, despite knowing that Etete has been previously convicted on same matter in France in 2007..

Pa Obasanjo really dealt with all of the unpatriotic elements involved in the scam and ensured that life is miserable for them until that role played by GEJ almost ruined his efforts and everything.

Asiwaju Tinubu needs to be wise with ENI and Shell to ensure we don't lose out in Italy and here. ENI and Shell have suffered enough yet it's actually the unpatriotic Nigerians who caused us this problem.ENI may now withdraw its own case too. Check my signature for free stuffs!
I believe Dan Etete is from Akwa-Ibom, not Bayelsa.
