Did you read that illegal mining has been going on for many years? This is not the fault of any President. How are foreigners entering the country to illegally mine our natural resources, and all their neighbours know this to be happening but no security or intelligence service is aware? |

That’s not even my concern but Soyinka’s attempt at outdoing MC Oluomo in agbero tactics. This isn’t the man I knew. He ought to be a statesman but it’s his life.
Every man to his conscience, let God judge. Which state did he win that he was denied in the North? Where was Obi when Tinubu was winning the NorthWest and NorthCentral? |

They seem to be the most useless organization in Nigeria.
More useless than the Police.
Chai!
Anyone can come in and do anyhow in Nigeria, and all their neighbours would know except the Intelligence services.
Little wonder they cannot use Intelligence to defeat boko haram, IPOB-UGM, and the many terrorist bandits.
What a national shame.
Whoever is handling any of the Intelligence units/services in Ibadan/Oyo State should be fired immediately. |

Because this was somebody calling for the rubbishing of a structure by which he himself had profited to even become a Governor, I am talking about Peter Obi.
He was what we know as a Judgement Governor, and even before he attended the tribunal, his party, his spokesman in this case Datti, came on television to threaten everyone, to threaten hell if his interpretation or results was not upheld.
This for me was politically amoral, socially amoral. It is playing to a certain script even if they didn't know it, because later I began to express my suspicion that they were part of the script. |

Soyinka, Prof Beko-Ransome Kuti etc were all appointed into Ibrahim Babangida government to help placate the SW and douse the political tension that followed the annulment of the June - 12 election Abiola won. I was part of it. You can't educate me. Always defending nonsense Jesus Christ! You are truly ignorant. Chai! Beko was a doctor and not a medical professor like his older brother Prof Olikoye Ransome-Kuti, who was Minister of Health in the mid 1980s at the start of the IBB regime. Wole Soyinka also setup and headed the FRSC in the mid 1980s at the start of the IBB regime. IBB did not need to placate the SouthWest in 1985 - 1990, for the election annulment and political turmoil he would later create in 1993. Get your timing right. Besides, did you bother to find out why Wole Soyinka quit his job with FRSC in the late 1980s in protest against the IBB regime that was yet to even have a June 12 political chaos? |

There's even a crater like the one formed from a dropped bomb Are you suggesting that US or Russia dropped bomb in Ibadan? Or what is farfetched about the site of an explosion? Whether Mining, Oil Prospecting, or Military Warfare, explosives are meant to explode. So if explosives used for illegal mining was secretly stored at that location and it exploded, were you expecting a different outcome? |

Shame on Obi and that his datti running mate. Racoon: Bloody hypocrite! So what was the same Soyinka thinking when he agreed to serve as FRSC boss in the Babangida government that also nullified the popular June 12 election of 1993 that robbed MKO Abiola of his God-given mandate?
Having advocated for the disastrous Buhari's presidency despite knowing his antecedents, kongi till today has never apologized for that error or commented on the corrupt nature of Tinubu including his CSU certificate forgery, identity theft, bullion vans saga, and the gbajue perpetuated by him and INEC in the 2023 elections. It is Peter Obi matter he carry for head. All because it is an ethnic affair. Ignoramus! As if Soyinka in the 1980s when he served as FRSC head, knew that IBB would nullify elections later in 1993. If you are empty headed, stop making a public disgrace of your ignorance. |

Since you did not draw the budget, how are you sure that Obi's opinion is wrong for the budget? Obi's opinion is not about wrong or right, he did not challenge the authenticity of the budget amount or claim it should have been a lesser amount. It is simply his own preference for more library books as opposed to government having records of the poor. Simply put, he does not see the need for such expenditure. An ignorant fellow who does not know the benefit of having a digital database of the poor to effect better national planning. |

I don't have a problem with the amount spent on verifying the social register, what we should be concerned about is if the money was used judiciously for the purpose, people can't read books when the stomach is empty. As simple as ABC. Peter Obi has his own preferred way to spend the money, but he his not the President. Let him go to the streets and tell the masses that he would rather buy more books in the national library while they are hungry. He was not called wicked and visionless Governor for nothing. |

What justifies the budget for the exercise?
Will the government employe new staff for the exercise? Aren't there public servants already working in the sectors that will handle the exercise?
Will new equipment be bought for the sectors? If yes, what happened to the existing equipment in those sectors or have those sectors been existing without the necessary equipment? Your question is not for me to answer. I did not draw up the budget, nor did Peter Obi make any criticism about how the budget came about. Peter Obi is suggesting that the funds could do something else, just as his own suggested spending of the funds could also do something else that other critics think is more critical. Criticism should be constructive and not default. I repeat, if he becomes President, he should worry about books in the national library and not about the poor. |

By the time you answer these questions, you will understand that the move the government wants to make and the message Obi is passing. The message Obi is passing is that he too would have spent the funds on something that does not address the hunger in the land. The government has dedicated such funds to set up a structure that will generate and track records about those who are poor in Nigeria, which I reckon is to allow subsequent planning. Obi is not interested in that, and complained that the National Library needs more funds and it is more critical. So he has his own ideas, as the government have theirs. Just as it was more critical to have Anambra public funds saved in his bank while Anambrarians who suffered his actions confirmed he was a wicked and visionless Governor. If he becomes the President, let him spend public funds on his own ideas, while the critics then also suggest what better way things could have been done. |

immortalcrown: Only sentimentalists will disagree with Obi on this. Do you agree that such funds could have been better expended on the national library as posited by Peter Obi? Would the masses that are suffering multidimensional poverty consider that as a better expenditure? If the same amount had been budgeted for the national library, the loser would have found another excuse why that was not good enough. In his own time as Governor, he locked up public funds in his own bank so that the bank can thrive and his own personal wealth can grow. Yet the masses of Anambra suffered and many were destitute in Lagos while many languished in Asian jails when they embraced drug trafficking to escape the poverty in their state that then had this doofus as Governor. Then he hid his corruption enabled state capture wealth in offshore accounts under his daughter's name. |

If you are saving, shouldn't it be the monies the govt claimed it was using to pay for the subsidy that it will no longer spend? How come you are taking money from private citizens and calling it savings?. They simply came up with a way to extort Nigerians more and made it seem like they did us a favour Are you not spending from your pocket to buy fuel that is not subsidized while Government keeps the erstwhile subsidy funds in their own pocket? Government is making you spend money that you were saving, while they are saving money they were spending. Same logic applies to the increased dollar exchange. English is not that difficult. |

Till date, SDP and AD are existing. What are you then saying? Stop disgracing yourself. The SDP that you think you know only got founded a few years ago with INEC allowing new party registration from time to time. The SDP of 1992/1993 elections died with the start of the Abacha regime. Anyone can chose to restart NCNC or Action Group too after many decades of non-existence. AD had many factions with many factional Chairmen, as manipulated by PDP to prevent competition. The faction of AD that Tinubu belonged to, chose to form another party and exited AD with all its political offices it had in the different states and at the National Assembly. It was not about a single man jumping about to another existing party, but a faction of a party forming another party from scratch.
