nosiebaba: Infinix note 5 is a great phone.. I gladly ditched my note 4 pro that came with a ton of problems from day 1 for the note 5, so far it's been a good experience but there are some vital even life saving features missing in the note 5. 1) there is no xhide app.. This app is very useful to hide apps, messages and personal files with sensitive information.. I find it most helpful with my banking apps. Banking apps now login with fingerprint making it easier to be coerced to transfer your money in event of a robbery. But with the xhide app, the assailant won't find any banking app on your phone. Even when your phone is lost, your money is safe. 2) despite having fingerprint unlocks, many of us still value the double tap to lock and wake screen.. It saves your lock button the stress of having to press it anytime you want to lock or unlock your phone.. The button there by lasts longer..
Pls engineers these are my two basic and important features missing on this great phone.. Feel free to add yours.
the only con I can see in the note is that its not the best midrange phone for gaming,apart from that it should be solid for most other things

don't know if its me but gangstar on mobile felt better than the android versions.I don't think Gameloft engine is good for open world games except batman but that one did not have many if any side missions

My Jumia search narrowed it down to Redmi 5 vs Mi 5. They are not it the same league.
I like the Mi 5 better but for 3 things, 2016 phone, small size 5.15 screen and the unpopular usb c type. All phones i compared it to at same price range falls behind it.
Redmi 5 battery and camera is not up to expectation though price is affordable.

mediatek isn't bad,but the version in hot 3 probably is.if u want to to avoid slow phones only buy phones with snapdragon 625 and above or mediatek helio p60 and above(when the above aka p70 comes)

Nokia 8 is a year older but at least in terms of gaming it is 2x better than the 7 plus(SD 835>SD 660) and on slot site they were basically the same price.if u prefer gaming go for the 8 instead of the 7 plus.in all other aspects like camera,battery life I have no idea which is better

windows 10 on xiaomi laptops are all in Chinese and their isn't a global version yet but their rumors that xiaomi will soon launch their laptops in Europe meaning windows 10 English.so either wait for their global launch or find a way to buy and install normal windows 10 over their Chinese focused windows 10 and then decide if the stress is worth the purchase

Namzy: What extra detail it's 720 p on a 4k TV to me its a downgrade. Also full 1080 HD in 4k is still a downgrade because as the 4k TV upscales some details are lost unless u prefer small viewing angle with black boarders. Watching a 720p on your phone that's 1080p to me will be much more detailed than watching on 4k TV. Best case scenario their won't be any noticeable difference. That 720 video will be better viewed on a 720p or 1080p state of the art tv
Xbox one x,PC with gtx 1070+ can play games at native 4k,I think the ps4 pro is dynamic 4k, note that the onex and 4 pro are different from the basic xb one and ps4.and Netflix also has native 4k content.something else you are missing is most 4k TVs have HDR 10(HDR premium or Dolby vision HDR) which absolutely makes a difference with more vibrant colors being displayed if u have HDR contents which again all devices and services listed above have.
4K UHD TVs are the best display TVs in the market but it's not for the Nigerian market! What am I even saying ? It's not even for the African market ! Sorry to say this but a lot of Nigerians don’t understand how resolutions work. A lot of people who buy 4k UHD TVs have never watched 4k videos before. THE MAJOR PROBLEM IS, there are few 4K contents available. A 5 minute 4k video is about 2GB in size how much more a full movie of almost 2 hours. A lot of TV shows, movies and TV networks are not even available in 4K resolution ! Not even MTV, CNN, BEIN SPORTS, SUPER SPORTS, FOX NEWS, AFRICAN MAGIC, SOUNDCITY, NAT GEO WILD etc displays 4K UHD videos. They only display in HD. So what’s the point of splashing huge amount of cash on 4K UHD TV only to go home and watch the regular videos or cable TV channels. You’re not different from the guy who bought a much cheaper FULL HD TV because its same video resolutions and you can hardly notice the difference. Agreed it does upscale the video quality to some extent but it's still not 4K. TV stations around the world are not ready to embrace the 4K UHD technology yet! Unless you ready to stream 4K videos directly from NETFLIX or AMAZON PRIME at mind blowing data rates, you can hardly enjoy the 4K experience. Even if you have the cash to burn, which internet service provider in Nigeria can give you enough bandwidth to stream 4k movies non-stop on Netflix at 2160 X 3840 pixels everyday ? This is a secret no TV sales man will ever tell you. Buying such TV in Nigeria is like buying a Ferrari and driving it in a street full of potholes. You can hardly enjoy it !

hopefully it doesn't take long for dstv to upgrade to 4k,but for now Netflix and youtube offer 4k content and most 4k TVs come with Netflix and youtube preinstalled.watched the last of us 2 e3 gameplay demo on my phone at 720p and on a 4k TV and the amount of extra detail was amazing.people with Xbox one x,ps4 pro and PCs with gtx 1070 and above will also be able to take advantage of it so 4k isn't a waste of money

there's an option to use SD card instead of into memory.but yes,u can only view the downloaded video through the YouTube app.I'd recommend tubemate as a useful alternative and it gets updated regularly

you can use d download option through YouTube app that comes with all phones and u can watch online from your playlist section. to select the resolution u want yo download with go through settings-download

a phone with a 12nm processing node chip with a 5000mah battery will outlast a phone with a 4000mah phone with the same 12nm chip.most infinix phones use 16-28nm chips meaning they aren't power efficient and the huge battery size makes up for that.if u doubt just check out the diffence BTW the galaxy s8(3000+mah exynos/snapdragon chip) and the galaxy s8 active(4000mah but same snapdragon/exynos chip)
