Please, if i lived/schooled in dubai for a yr in 2008, and worked in uk in 2010 for 7 months before returning to nigeria, does anyone know if it's necessary to get police certificate from all the places one has lived for more than 6 months or is it just the country i have lived in the last 6 months that's required? |
Danhumprey: An half-cast,no doubt! But they look cute together.abeg, no vex. the indefinite article 'an' is only used for words that begin with a VOWEL SOUND. ie, in words that start with a vowel, or words that start with a consonant but where the consonant is not pronounced. eg, in words spelt with 'h' but the 'h' is silent. we do not say 'an horse' or 'an hand'. because the 'h' is not silent. but we do say 'an hour' or 'an honour'. please please please. do not say 'an half caste' again. the 'h' in half is not silent. kind regards. |
Miatha: pls is it d gentelle hair fruits conditioner, cn i use it 4my relaxed hair dat is very light and how do i use it pls tanxHallo, its the gentelle one. you can use it for any hair type. i dnt think it was made specifically for unrelaxed hair. i think a lot of the products that we use for our hair can be used for any hair type. you just have to find the one that works for you. and i always feel that looking specifically for one type of hair product for natural or relaxed hair will limit you. because, a time will come when you cannot find some of these 'special' products. anyways, i've tried all sorts of things to get a clearer picture of my hair i used for the wedding. the album is still not out yet so, i hope you get the general idea from this picture. ![]()

swiftsulex: email me on swiftsulex@yahoo.com and i will direct you on what to do using the National Environmental Standards and Regulations Enforcement Agency (NESREA) also include ur state of residence in ur mail. cheersThanks to you and everyone else who's given advice. I have been able to press dem to committing to changing out the generator. however, they've not given a definite date. they say procurement and all that will take a long time. i will give dem till d end of November (while constantly pressuring them b4 then) before i take anymore action. @ swiftsulex, i will definitely mail you. and as for those of you simply saying i should move out, what happens if i encounter another problem somewhere else? na so i go de run? we have to b able to stand up sometimes abeg. no need for me to suffer cos some pple are not doing the right thing. however, i'll bet if it were a multinational oil company i was complaining about, a lot of you more people would have been screaming blue murder and injustice! thanks for the encouragement sha. |
Its ok to run your enquiries through the filter of common sense before posting.
yeah yeah yeah, warreva. u try. say all u want. but u sha branched here. |
Keneking: Are you the landlord of this space? Are you getting free etisalat internet? Are you allowed to put your local antenna on the mast? Are you perturbed with the vibrations from the transmitters? Are you aware you can vacate your present apartment for the good of the community i.e better network? francafrank: O boy sorry. just get a lawyer to write to them and be sure he puts at least 1bn as damages you will see action immediately.please tell me more. |
chibabe3: Unfortunately, you are more concerned about the noise and seems to be ignorant of the possible cancer and other disease that could result from staying too close to a mast. I will advise that you pack out of the house as soon as possible or face the consequences of your action/inaction.those at the foot of a mast r exposed to no emission/radiation from the mast. the mast transmits outside and not downwards so, u dnt get anything frm staying at the base. except of course, HORRIBLE NOISE. but thanks for ur concern sha. for those suggesting lawsuit, i dnt think i have a case against etisalat. if i have to sue, i'll have to sue my landlord cos my contract was with him and not etisalat. maybe i shld sue him and in turn, he can sue etisalat. the other option, parking, hmmmmmm it'l take me another year to wrestle my remaining money away from the landlord. . . i just tire. |
I am in Port Harcourt not Lagos. I dont know where to get the addresses of any of the NCC or the CDA that have been suggested that i write to. I have approached d etisalat people, approached my landlord, i've written letters so much that even my laptop and pen now knw the story themselves. Etisalat said 'we will attend to the issue as soon as possible' and na dia we still de since a year now. can anyone help with the addresses i can write to? |
hello everyone. i am living in a lovely area which seems to answer to all my needs. however, etisalat has erected one of their network masts near my house and the suffering is not small at all. first of all, they did not follow the NCC regulation of minimum distance from living quarters and secondly, they did not install silent generators. so, now, for 24 hrs of everyday, my windows are rattling, the noise is unbearable (worse at night) sometimes i have fumes entering my house. I cannot even open all my windows to allow for cross ventillation because I will get deaf. we have written several letters to etisalat to get their generators out of there or install a silent generator build a wall to shield us from the noise before their contract for that space expires but to no avail. Please, is there anyone who can advice me on what to do?? |
what's the point of the topic? and must you give voice to every question that pops into your head? na so craze dey start o.
what's d point of every topic that is on nairaland? and dnt worry, if i crase, e no go disturb you. anyways, i ws interested in d gist cos i heard some brides dnt knw till d wedding day that their husbands were cultists. so, i wanna know if anyone else has seen such happening. and also, i really wanna know how come it doesnt seem to be done for every cult member. :d |
LOL! i hear u! |
I was recently at someone's wedding and at the reception, his fellow cult members came and did a parade for him. now, before the wedding, I had no idea he was a cultist. but now, thanks to the parade, we now all know. so, my question is, is this cult parade only done for a few of the cult members? abi na all? (cos i'm sure he's not the first cult member who's wedding i have attended. so, why is his own the first i'm seeing the parade?) also, i was told sometimes the brides do not know till the wedding day! is it that some cultists pay their members not to attend? does anyone else have this experience? also, apart from the parade, is there anything else at a wedding that can hint at whether or not the groom (or bride) is a cultist? ![]() |

ENEMIES has 7, so does FRIENDS. 6. LYING has 5, so does TRUTH. 7. HURT has 4, so does HEAL. 8. NEGATIVE has 8, so does POSITIVE. 9. FAILURE has 7, so does SUCCESS. 10. BELOW has 5, but so does ABOVE. 11. CRY has 3 letters so does JOY. 12. ANGER has 5 so does HAPPY. 13. RIGHT has 5 so does WRONG. 14. RICH has 4 so does POOR. 15. FAIL has 4 so does PASS 16. KNOWLEDGE has 9 so does IGNORANCE. Are they all by Co-incidence? We should Choose wisely, this means LIFE is like a Double-Edged Sword. Do you Agreenice but cry and joy no work. It should be cry and smile anger and happy no work, it should be anger and er. . . peace? |
I've been natural for 5 years now. but cut the hair again 3 years ago. i've tried all sorts of products and done all sorts of things. . . my opinion may change soon. but for now, i've concluded that most of the products dont do much for your hair. i've also concluded (and this is not likely to change in the nearest future) there's no conditioner like good, old, cheap hair fruits conditioner!!!!!! its only N300 or so but it works wonders. please try it and come and 'give testimonies'. my hair is now grazing my bra strap, and i used my natural hair for my wedding. the hair style was on point. as soon as my wedding pics come out, i'll show y'all! |
A PEOPLE WHO FORSAKED THEIR RELIGION, WONT HESISTATE TO FORSAKE THEIR LANGUAGE AND CULTURE AS WELL! SOME NAIJA PEEPS ARE WORSE THEN ANIMALS.
wow. you're a tad upset! |
jullary: My wife is from AKWA-IBOM, she doesn't understand yoruba! And am from OGUN-STATE! I don't understand her language so the only way we can comunicate is english so my children don't understand yoruba. What about thathmmmm. . . I have a friend who's yoruba, married to a german. their son speaks perfect yoruba and german! the only way you and your wife can communicate is English. but you can each communicate with your children in ur languages. Children are really smart. dnt be afraid you'll confuse them. so, you can explore that option |
Anvaller: Okay very interesting topic, I kind of agree with majority of the comments here but this is what I would like to add.all i can say is, Tell them, tell them, tell them! no matter what you do, where u go, how far you are away from home, you'll always be known as Nigerian born (insert new nationality here) or (insert new nationality here) of Nigerian descent! Learning your native tongue first as a child does not spoil your english in anyway.(as long as your English teacher is a good one and you learn English before your mouth is set in its ways!) besides, if french, spanish etc accents are sexy why cant igbo accent be sexy?isnt cos the people with the accent market it to seem sexy? y cant u market YA own? |
jennykadry: Lol what is wrong with "hello Aunty how are you?" Hello is a form of greeting you know.....what has "respecting" our cultural values done for our country? Is Nigeria better than these developed countries?oh? so, 'respecting' is useless? i guess the word 'good afternoon/ goodmorning' which are english words do not make it a little clear that even the 'westerners' appreciate some culture? that's their version of Otutu-oma. besides, when you meet proper cultured children in the Uk etc, you see they greet u proper. they dnt simply say 'hello'. its children of 'regular' brits who simply say 'hello'. |
Iko5000: premier inns and holiday inns are not five stars and they never said its five starmy point exactly. i ddnt say they r 5 star hotels. my post was in reply to cajetan who said sheraton dem were world class hotels. . . and in my own post, i ddnt say that premier inn and co were 5 star. . . ![]() |
Cajetan speaks: Just listen to yourself, "foreign rating agencies" my foot(bunch of racists), how many of them have visited Nigeria before?.. Transcorp Hilton and Sheraton are world class and just a few hotels around the world world are better in terms of services these hotels render.please o! dnt fall my hand o! shera-who and transcorp-who are world class wetin? please, travel about a bit more. the hotels you've just listed are rubbing shoulders with the holiday inns and the premier inns of the world. these hotels r just standard hotels in other countries. when u stay in a proper 5 star hotel, or a proper sheraton outside Nigeria, then you'll know wetin de sup. |
and I can imagine that this 5-star hotel in Nigeria will cost more than its counterparts in other countries! smh. make our leaders do solve our only probs for this country. no b 5 star hotel b our issue. GIVE US POWERRRRRRR! and all other things will follow. |
i dnt think we have kale in Nigeria. not as far as i know sha. |
feezy: If na for oyinbo place, dem 4 put am back inside de water ooooso, for oyinbo place dem go put dead whale inside water?
I'm very sure that when dis topic made FP, it read "very big fish" and not "blue whale"! 1st of all, I'll luv 2 say big ups 4 d close pix shot but whoever is responsible for changing this topic title; Messrs' OP or MOD, should kindly change the name to sea creature (if you ain't sure of what u saw)! Do u know what is a blue whale? A blue whale ain't croaker or titus fish bro! Its the biggest animal ever known (170 metric tons)! The largest known dinosaur of the Mesozoic Era was Argentinosaurus, which is estimated to have weighed up to 90 metric tons. A blue whale's tongue weighs more than 30 elephants, its heavier than a hippopotamus @ child birth! Its about 30mtrs long! From wat I saw in ur pix, that's not a blue whale! Next time, try using google.com or wikipedia to get ur facts right before posting stuffs like this!
and to you who says its not a blue whale, look dat your google picture well again. and compare to the tiny part of the whale this picture showed. . . maybe you'll change your mind. this picture is just a tiny part, whale was already dead, and to the body dimensions and statistics you quoted, no be for full grown whale? dis one fit be d pikin na. |
I was on a blog yday where i read bout this first. was interesting to note that everybody was screaming beverly and how she was a disgrace to mankind and a prostitute etc. but she ddnt have s .e. x with herself. not a word of insult went to the person she had sex with! anyways, as for me, i really dnt get how u can 'forget' that there are cameras around and then have sex in bba house. . . |
I guess d americans are nt as good as they portray.just imagine it d other way round! An american dies in murtala mohammed airport for the same reason n let's see if it won't make d headlines on CNN! 2 bad......RIP man.
unfortunately, if an american (or even a Nigerian) suffers a heart attack at mm2, i dnt think his possible death will be because the EMTs could not get in on time. . . it'll be more like there were no EMTs to call, if there were EMTs, there was no fuel in their ambulance, or the emergency kit was empty, or the devil was working against him. . . |
Built2last: Oga, you don't have to insult anybody...if you have ever travelled the easiest thing to find on you is your passpot. Do you need 30 seconds to know his nationality with his passpot on him?just to be clear, do you think its cos he was Nigerian that response was delayed? and Justosaus: u guys can all say wateva u want to say, but i still suspect foulplay! Sometimes i tend to believe those guys are even as racist as the British, if not Germans. They might have known that he was African, prompting their usual i-don't-care attitude they usually display when it comes to aiding foreigners. So if security card's not working, a completely innocent man has to die for it? And there were no ambulances within d premises that they had to send for frm the street?what gave rise to ur suspicion of foulplay here please? and careful there, Nigerians are SUSPECTED of being the most racist in the world. only thing be say, we no get power to show pple pepper like westerners. Built2last: I am not saying you need any form of identity to get assistance...I am simply saying that you don't need 20mins to figure out his identity. His passpot will be very handy...probably still holding it when he collapsed. Not just paramedics but airpot security will rush towards him as he fell.in this report, was there any proof that airport security did not rush to him? cos somewhere in there, i read 'when the emts were called, it was reported he was unresponsive but breathing'. who reported that? dunno. even if they did rush to him, how would they have helped without the equipment of EMTS? The fact he was nigerian hs nothing to do with the response he was given. now, difference btw a lot of Nigerians and the westerners, instead of finding out how to 'learn from events' and make sure this doesnt happen again (e.g, quickly rectifying the access card issue or making sure there's a standby emt within the building to hold forte till the main ones come in the event of an emergency), we instead blame it on tribe/race/luck to which there is no remedy. |
eyenCalabar: Why were they closing their eyes while kissing?hmmmm! ask me o. i'm sure this has never happened b4! :d ![]() |
femi4: Why is she wearing white since she is pregysorry, not sure of the law that dictates what a bride should wear, pregnant or not. and the guy who was asking if its right to wed a pregnant bride. the pregnancy in itself is not what was done wrong! the premarital sex is what was wrong! I'm sure people who have had pre marital sex have been wed in church plenty times. just cos she's showing she's preg, she should not be wed. if they have prayed forgiveness, the sin is gone! if Jesus made us wear something to show our past sins every time we lied, or hurt someone or broke the law, the world will end na. if Jesus (who is our role model) can forgive and forget, who are we? |
