EventsRe: Wedding Mistakes ~ What Would You Have Done Differently? by tiebe: 10:42am On Jan 20, 2013
Op, this is a good avenue for learning.

I'm not hitched but I learnt from a wedding I attended that a bride should get professional vendors by herself and not leave other people in charge of important things like the photography.
Someone said his contribution to the couple was a photographer. The photographer ended up managing 'film' throughout the wedding.
'E jor, take the brides snapshot', her dressers would beg as they dressed her.

'Ko si film o. Mi o le waste film', the photographer would mutter petulantly.

Imagine such nonsense happening in this world of digital photography we live in!
Today, she has still not gotten her wedding pics. It's almost 2 years after....

The bride's friend that did her makeup seemed to have the singular objective of making her look bad. See piles of poorly applied makeup on the poor bride's face. The 'makeup artist' also screamt at the bride as she did the makeup. Smh! Even if it's the last thing you do, keep frenemies far away from you on your big day!
The caterer sef, na another story.

Please, get professionals to give quality service.
almost collapsed laughing at this!

Christianity EtcRe: Is It The Bible That Says Virgin Brides Should Wear White? by tiebe(op): 3:11pm On Jan 09, 2013
er. . . in addition, i just read that brides initially wore blue. . cos at one time, blue was the symbol of purity. however, the tradition of wearing white was begun by Queen victoria in 18-something when she decided to break the mould and wear white for her wedding!
CareerRe: Are Technicians Better Than Engineers In Nigeria? by tiebe: 3:08pm On Jan 09, 2013
well said Adefash. a technician and an Engineer do not do the same thing. therefore, while you will sometimes see an Engineer doing a technicians job, it is not his primary duty. and a technician can seem like an engineer, but is not an engineer. same as doctor and nurse, architect and bricklayer. . .
Christianity EtcRe: Praying Loudly Vs Praying Quietly: What Do You Guys Think. by tiebe: 11:36am On Jan 04, 2013
i believe na as body de do u na so u go pray. sometimes, you feel soooo strongly bout something that you talk with passion! however, no be everyday person de talk with passion. some people cite instances in the bible where people were praying out loud. or praying in the way people would notice them. but note, these people were not praying a simple, thank you for waking me up this morning or a simple dear lord let them mama down d road not come and disturb me again today.

Hannah who's prayer was in the manner of one who was drunk, was praying for a child. the matter hard am for mind and that's what made her pray sooooo hard. if you dont feel it, dnt fake it. the way i'd pray for even the same issue at the beginning of the issue is not the way i will pray for the same issue if its not been solved years later. by then, i'id probably be desperate and really hurting and really want God to deal with it. so, you sitting beside me in church, dnt now follow me to shout. no be as e de do you e de do me. and by the time you see me another day praying quitely, dnt now say i was pretending the day before.
FamilyMarried From The Same Or Different Tribe? How Is It Going? by tiebe(op): 5:41pm On Jan 02, 2013
Most parents will tell you that you should marry from the same tribe. there's never really been any concrete reason (in my opinion). some say it makes the marriage easier, some say it makes integrating with the inlaws easier etc. So, I want to know, for those of you who married from a different tribe, do you now wish you married from your tribe? and for you married from someone from the same tribe, what can you say are the advantages?

thanks.

Ujujoan: Is life itself a bed of roses? Why dont you comit suicide huh
i jus LUV d ans u gave him...on point
life is definitely not a bed of roses. . . but my coming into the life is not by choice. but my going into marriage is wholly by choice. I hope you get my point? when one says 'i'm going to get a job in so-and-so company', people who know the company dont immediately say 'ha, working in so-and-so company is not a bed or roses o!'. but with marriage, its the singular most common view of it. with life you hear some pple say life's beautiful at least sometimes. but with marriage, its almost always 'marriage is not a bed of roses'.

If na so marriage be, then why will I open my eyes and go into something that is going to show me how 'it is not a bed of roses'. but we digress. how far the marriage counseling people?

FamilyRe: Has Marriage Counseling Made Any Difference To Your Marriage? by tiebe(op): 1:39pm On Nov 08, 2012
tomakint: If I am privileged to advise intending couples I will ask them to ponder on these three:

• A house is not a home!
• A man is not a husband!
• A woman is not a wife!

Meaning:
• A house is a building; a home is where characters are shaped
• A man is a visitor; a husband is a shepherd
• A woman is a hireling; a wife is a keeper
…..from the above work out your own SALVATION with fear and trembling, because MARRIAGE is not a bed of roses!
and you have touched on another subject that baffles me, if marriage is not a bed of roses? why should we bother getting married nahuhhuhhuh?

ok, we may get to that later. but er. . . is this what you're taught at the counseling class? also, a wife is a hireling? really?
FamilyRe: Has Marriage Counseling Made Any Difference To Your Marriage? by tiebe(op): 1:27pm On Nov 08, 2012
well, everybody here seems to be seeing things the way I do. not like i've had the counseling before o. but everybody that I know that has gone through it says its basically telling you what you already know. doesnt shed any light on marriage at all. I'm yet to hear anybody who has said their marriage would have fallen apart if not for it. so, i'm leaning towards seeing it as an unnecessary waste of time and power. . .

However, for those of you who say it was worth while, please let us know exactly where and how u feel it improved ur married life. . . thanks. eg.
crusufixo: It has so far worked for me. I would advise anybody to go for the marriage class ( as it is refered to in the catholic church ) before marriage. You would be surprised at the things that you would learn
and
2pence: My Dear stop misinforming people ,Marriage counselling is very important for intending marriage couples,it helps shape them to have an idea of what marriage is ,to prepare them cos marriage is a vocation, its a calling and its not everyone that's called for it and people must know this and be aware so as not get into mistakes that will bring annulment/divorce,My dear I suggest you take that class before venturing into marriage,"not a must ooo" but iam just suggesting
can you honestly say your married life would have been worse off without it?

FamilyHas Marriage Counseling Made Any Difference To Your Marriage? by tiebe(op): 10:20pm On Nov 07, 2012
I think the topic explains what i need to know. for those who went through the compulsory marriage counseling some churches require before they marry a couple, I just want to know if you feel your marriage is any better because of it, the same or even worse?

Thanks.
TravelRe: by tiebe: 9:19pm On Nov 02, 2012
If using phones while flying were sooo dangerous, i believe the flight crew would not let passengers take it in, because people ALWAYS put on their phones(to make really daft calls like 'what are you wearing now?') before doors are opened (while the pilot is still most likely communicating with tower) as they're asked to do. and me I wonder, 'if during the flight which was a few odd hours, you did not make this phone call and the world did not end, what will a few extra minutes to wait as instructed do to your phone callhuhhuh??

however, i feel if everytime someone whipped out their phones something dramatic happened to the planes, NO ONE would dare to put on their phones. and just like the flight crew dont tell you to simply put away liquids that are more than 100ml frm your hand luggage but confiscate liquids, they'd advice u to put ur phones in ur luggage or provide a place for passengers to drop their phones. . . dunno.

Hello everyone. I know this Lady who's albino. she's got really nice even skin tone and she's really really light with lovely eyes. but when she makes up, she transforms into something else. she uses really DARK BLACK for her eye brows and dyes her hair jet black! I know she's not aiming for the goth look, but that's what she gets. oddly enuf, she's looking to b a fashion designer or so. I'm looking for a way to suggest to her to use lighter colours without hurting her feelings.
when i was in sec school, i had a teacher who was albino as well and she was golden all over. and all the makeup she used was to complement her tone. i wish i could show this lady i know now, a picture of my sec sch teacher.

What are your experiences with albino makeup? please share and inspire me with how to tell this madam that the vampire look is not the way forward.

FashionRe: How Do I Soften My Natural Hair And Stop Breakage During Combing? by tiebe: 3:29pm On Aug 14, 2012
Hallo. well, one of the main things that breaks natural hair is too much handling. we think because the hair feels like iron, it must b as strong as iron. in actual fact, black hair's much weaker than it looks. try to avoid combing ur hair everyday. how to do this? do a style that will keep for at least a week at a time. even when you do comb it, do so as if u're in love with the hair. gently. . .

Secondly keep your hair moisturised. there are several regular conditioners you could use. i'd recommend any of the aussie hair conditioners or giovanni conditioners. leaves ur hair feeling like u sprayed dew on it.

When you style ur hair, avoid d 'tighter is finer' rule. tighter hair just means more hair will pull outta ur scalp grin

most (not all o) other things are just to make u feel like u're 'doing work' on ur hair.

Lollycutie: .I support you, people lik u are those we need in the society 2day.love and comfortability is no longer a thing in and affair?its now weda ur genotype match?some pple suck.
Lets c if these same words comfort all those suffering from sickle cell anaemia. they should stop complaining bout all the pain they're going through because their parents had to 'marry for love and comfortablilty'. nobody is saying that its a written rule that AS and AS should not marry. just dnt have kids. or, go to a country where its possible to determine the genotype of a baby b4 its born. if na SS, do the unmentionable! and lets c hw many times you can handle that b4 u give up. cos in the end, its not the 2 love birds who suffer, its the SS children they bring into the world that suffer.
RomanceRe: Will You consider a Genotype Test Before Marriage? by tiebe: 5:22pm On Jul 12, 2012
abeg, this izeek guy, its all well and good that things worked out well for you. but please, don't go around preaching ur case as the norm. it does not always turn out the way yours did. while i'm happy for you, i'd advice anyone who's planning to marry AS to AS to reconsider o. the thing is no joke. all that talk of love i feel is crap cos no b u go carry the possible SS. its the innocent children who had no say in their being born. and i think its a lil irresponsible to play kalu-kalu with their lives.

I have an aunty who's AS and married an AS man. their first child is AA and the 2nd is SS and i'm sure their many more couples like that. i know God can work wonders and faith is good. but men, if u knw say you no get track record of God doing outstanding things in ur life, dnt gamble. cos that's basically all it is, a Gamble. I dnt think its right to walk into a situation knowing its not right and then tempt God by saying He has to give u AA/AS children then blame Him if it doesnt work.

Anyways, i'm no pastor or genealogist (or what ever the pple who study these geneoype thing are called). but my advice is check it ur genotype out and if na AS and AS, fash o!
