Tropilo: That includes "YOU and YOURS" minus "ME and MINE".
Please tell him well that it includes him o. except he's not Nigerian, if e like make e de any other place he will still b known as Nigerian born or 'of Nigerian descent'!

meanwhile, update. . . Light blinked today!
PoliticsRe: Has Power Been Worse Than Normal Lately? by tiebe(op): 3:56pm On Mar 30, 2012
dein77: How will the situation of light inprove when the masses keep paying for what they dont enjoy? To get steady power is simple: all nigerians refuse paying PHCN bills. Simple. Its a worse form of corruption for one to pay for a utility one doesnt enjoy! Docile nigerians...
is that really your understanding of the problem with nepa/phcn? Smh
PoliticsRe: Has Power Been Worse Than Normal Lately? by tiebe(op): 3:53pm On Mar 30, 2012

CareerRe: Total Oil And Gas Workers by tiebe: 5:52am On Mar 30, 2012
Well, well. how many people can confirm they saw the employment letters of these companies i.e Total and Shell. even if we have close friends who work in the company, we should know that they would usually quote a 'version' of their pay. most of the time only saying the basic or only stating the allowance. Someone here said that shell's pay for entry level is 6.8m. but was this for engineers? and at what level? operators or office staff? I've heard so many versions of shells salary. I've also heard so much about total's salary. I dont think the numbers here are right and then its not clear what 'entry level' position. for example, people hired from outside Nigeria as entry level are on a different salary scale than those hired from within, etc. so, leads me to wonder how correct your figures are.but wait o, no one spoke about LNG here
PoliticsRe: Has Power Been Worse Than Normal Lately? by tiebe(op): 4:42am On Mar 30, 2012
ArQueBusieR: Used to be power for ~23hrs daily, now it's the exact opposite. I've dumped PHCN, already.
Abeg, dumped them for what? Pls what alternative r u using?
So is It safe to say the whole of Nigeria is suffering worse power? Any chance It Will improve when the rains come?

people, i know Nepa/PHCN has never been perfect. But in my area, and in warri, it has become even worse than ever. My folks in benin have the same complaints. And the heat is killing!
Please can u let me know if its the same where you are? Also, if you could go a step further by saying why if u knw. Some people think its because d dams r dry frm the dry season. Another theory is turbine maintenance

Christianity EtcRe: Is It The Bible That Says Virgin Brides Should Wear White? by tiebe(op): 5:16pm On Mar 27, 2012

goshen360: It's all false teachings. There is no such in the new testament teachings. Purity is of the heart and holiness is between man and God, not between man and pastor/church. This is all religious, Pharisaical and hypocritical teachings.
wow! Nicely put! This what i feel as well. But i knw churches that go to extra ordinary lengths to prove a bride is still a virgin. I'v even heard of a pastor's wife asking the bride to submit herself so mrs pastor can stick her hand into d bride to make sure its in tact!
Christianity EtcRe: Is It The Bible That Says Virgin Brides Should Wear White? by tiebe(op): 12:18pm On Mar 27, 2012
all well and good. but is it the churches place to make sure the world knows? its like churches that flog people when those people are caught doing any wrong. is that what Jesus did?
Christianity EtcRe: Is It The Bible That Says Virgin Brides Should Wear White? by tiebe(op): 6:41am On Mar 27, 2012
Callotti: Since when did women start caring what the Bible states when it comes to marriage?
We have polygamists in churches.
We have babies crowing in church isles.
We have labor rooms in every church building.
We have o-r-gies in front.

THE WOMEN ALL WORE WHITE!!!! grin
don't really get what u mean.
Christianity EtcIs It The Bible That Says Virgin Brides Should Wear White? by tiebe(op):
I am of the opinion that the colour of dress the bride wears to indicate if she's a virgin is a bit hypocritical. The groom doesnt need to wear anything to show the world that he's not a virgin

Also, Jesus doesnt make us carry a sign everytime we lie or hurt someone or any other sin, so why shld the church insist on cream just to show u'v been down before?

I knw some churches that go to horrible lengths just to prove d bride is a virgin or not. Makes me wonder if pre marital sex is the only sin in the world.

I posted this awhile ago. however, i recently went saw the 'laws of white wedding according to anglican church' in one of their bulletins and it got me riled up again. I saw new things like if the couple are only doing blessing of marriage, the bride will not be allowed to wear a veil, if the bride is pregnant, she cannot wed in the church etc. my view is, if the bride is not pregnant nko but has had sex, you will let her wear a veil and marry in the church? just because she's not carrying proof that she may have had sex doesnt mean she should not wed in the church! i really dont know which part of the bible they get these their rules from!

Moderator, any chance this can get to the home page? I wanna know more people's views on this.
Christianity EtcRe: Is Using Your Phone As Bible On Sunday Service A Sin? by tiebe: 8:30pm On Mar 26, 2012
The things that are sin to God are clearly stated in the bible o! using the bible in your phone in church is not not a sin. all na still bible. like many have said here, its the word in the bible and not the physical book that has the power.
Christianity EtcRe: Is Using Your Phone As Bible On Sunday Service A Sin? by tiebe: 3:07pm On Mar 26, 2012
onyekapray: I dont subsribe to using phones or other instruments as Bible. Barring the fact that we are in the modern age, we need to be wary of the devices of the enemy. How many of us can do Bible study with the use of our phones where we have to mark scriptures and highlight places we find appealing as Memory Verses. There is more to it than the eye meets as many are ashamed to walk on the streets with their Bibles so as not to be seen as religious.
It is even bad when many carry their Bibles and people can not see Jesus in them.
I beg to disagree that we dont use the liberty that we have as an opportunity to sin.
er. . . I'm not the kind to mark any book i read, or highlight; especially not my bible. I have a notebook i use for bible study. i write everything important in that notebook. so, reading my bible in my phone doesnt stop me from doing a good bible study. some people (not saying you that i quoted oh) feel that only those with weathered, beaten bibles with scribbles everywhere can prove they study the bible.

and if I cant use my phone in church, it means there's something wrong with using phones, which means i should not be using phones at all. after all, its not only in church i should b holy. what i cant do inside church, i should not do outside.
Christianity EtcRe: Is Using Your Phone As Bible On Sunday Service A Sin? by tiebe: 2:47pm On Mar 26, 2012
lilkech: We go 2 church 2 worship and praise God.

The only gadgets allowed are supposed to be musical based

lets not allow the western world lead us into blind sin
I'm sorry, but I dont quite agree. i feel like the reason why we dont Jesus reading the scrolls from a phone bible or iphone at the time was because at that time, these were not available. I dont think Using the bible in your phone in church is a sin! its a bible while u're using the bible in it. as long as u can keep from getting distracted by text messages and calls and all other messages coming into your phone during serve.

we're not questioning the intention we're questioning here.we might as well begin to question why some people buy bibles with gold margins and say they probably do that to show off.

ayobase: Especially for guys...be ready to c some parts of ur wife changing.
Orange-like breats becoming slippers-like, the flat tommies protruding, stretch marks on d smooth skin.
Just be ready...cos ur wife's beauty will surely depreciate as time goes by!
Guys be ready to love ur wife no matter what, especially after birth giving!
lol 2 'birth giving' why ddnt you simply say giving birth? oh well, i'm sure guys can manage with all the changes in the woman's body if women can also get used to pot belly replacing those 6 packs, bald hair, grey hairs in the ears and nose, 'middle age spread', the drastic change from firm well built chest to sloppy drained looking chest, flabby arms replacing those formerly lovely biceps, love handles. . .

FamilyRe: What Is Best About Your Marriage Life? by tiebe: 7:26am On Mar 24, 2012
I'm not married, but I've always felt that the main reason I'd ever marry is for companionship! I always want someone by my side and someone to share my life with.

and from the majority of the posts here, it seems the best part of their marriages is companinonship (having someone to talk to, chill and play with) and also support (having someone to share issues with)

ayobase: For real...can everything abt the past be discussed?
Some are very dirty!

Gat ur point though, wisdom should be applied though!
I agree with you on this o. but not necessarily because the details may be dirty.

my thots on this is, only the important points should be discussed. what are either of the spouses going to do with all that info? it should only be brought up if it has any bearing on who the person has become now, or if a child was produced from any of those relationships, etc. you know, anything that has the potential of affecting the marriage. if not, i really don't wanna know ALL the details because it wont change my feelings for my spouse.

but like you said, apply wisdom.
I remember this movie 'due date' where a man's wife was having a baby and the man suddenly had creepy feelings that the baby was for her former boyfriend who was also the husbands good friend. sometimes i wonder, if they had kept the past relationship away from the husband, would he have had to be bothering his head with all that? especially if the both knew the past relationship was dead and buried.

I remember when I met one of my sisters in law, she came to the house in shorts, her hair was standing and she looked like a female footballer. and she looked a lil too 'street'. i remember when she left, we all wondered where on earth my bruv saw her. . . but years down the line, we all agree she's the best thing that ever happened to him, and because of her, He's a better man and they're both sooo happy together.

I've also heard about people who's first impressions about their inlaws was that they were lovely people but on getting to knw them better, saw they were not sooooo lovely afterall!

Anyways, I was just wondering who else had interesting first impressions about inlaws (mother, father, sisters, brothers) inlaws whether good or bad and did those first impressions turn out to be right?
RomanceRe: Should Have Stayed With My Ex. by tiebe: 8:21am On Mar 13, 2012
@OP, the mistake has been made already. and i'm sure you're not the first to have second thots when you got married. however, u'v got to learn not to dwell on thots about your ex. these thots will HELP you cheat proper cheating. You are MARRIED now, ur husband should have 100% of u. do all you have to do to get all thots of exes outta your head. you'll start focusing on those thots instead of focusing on ur marriage. if u do this, ur marriage will fail and u will think it failed because u married the wrong person when it actually failed because u ddnt put in ur best.
You don marry.
Your ex should remain an 'ex'
dnt try to make him the present

i've realised that in relationships, nobody has any sure answers. . . but always trust ur instincts. The reason u broke up with your ex even if u cant place a finger on it, was a good enuf reason. . . dnt let him come into ur marriage. there's not enuf space for 3 of u.
PoliticsRe: I Denied Being A Nigerian Today. by tiebe: 10:57pm On Mar 10, 2012
Ilekokonit:
Any one who denies his fatherland has inferiority complex.

Any Nigerian who is a tribalist is either an illiterate or an educated illiterate.

Anyone holding a Nigerian passport and still working against Nigeria's unity has no principles and is a disgrace.
Why don't you give up your Nigerian passport first before you come here and talk rubbish about Nigeria breaking up.

Nigeria is bigger than any tribal sentiments. If you don't like being Nigerian then give up your Nigerian passport first. You can't have your cake and eat it. Man up and do what real men do.

If you are tired of being a Nigerian then go adopt another country and lets see how you fare. Leave us who are proudly Nigerian to mend our imperfect but much beloved country.

In 40 years time you will definitely still be Nigerian like the rest of us so why not try and build a better Nigeria for us and our Children to cherish instead of trying at every corner to pull it apart with your tribal poison huh

Once again if you don't like being Nigerian then give up your Nigerian passport first instead of tiring us out with your empty boasts.

I am not a traitor and no matter how little, I have benefitted from Nigeria in the past and come good, come bad, I will remain a loyal Nigerian till I die. I may criticise the imperfections of our corrupt leaders across ALL 36 states and in the Presidency BUT it is in my best interests for Nigeria to remain one AS WE HAVE NO OTHER COUNTRY TO CALL OUR OWN.

Long Live Nigeria For Better For Worse
your views are noble and i support you very fully. I knw how many times i'v stood with international colleagues and bravely tried to make them stop seeing Nigerians as the worst thing that happened to the world. cos I truly dnt believe that Nigerians do what other nationalities do. However, there are times when one is just tired of constantly defending ones self. . . I've never been put in that situation b4 where denying being Nigerian was easier but I've gone darn close!. . so, I cant judge.

Lol
Anyway, here's more:
Dear past me,
1. Be more money concious, you have cash in hand does not mean spend it at once.
2. Develop your cooking skills, do that now while you are at home and can make mistakes.
3. Reduce the time you spend on the internet. This is crucial, because the future you turned out to be an internet addict due to your excessive browsing.
4. See if you can buy Facebook. Seriously, try to find out if you can buy facebook from the owner.
Lovingly yours.
nice one. but at what point would you have known that facebook was such a good investment? you never coulda known. . .

If miss ugly get sense and is reasonable and can add value, take her to house of tara to learn how to do makeup and then give am d ring!

Sincerely yours,

Well, there are sooooo many things i'd tell my 15 yr old self, some too private to be said here. . .  wink
but i'd say things like:

1. all the yab people de yab you now say e get as ur body b, just ignore. . . its part of the awkwardness of growing up. . . soon, d star in you will eventually come out and half of what they say, is a reflection of what they feel bout you.

2. Learn all the languages you can now o. . . and any other soft skills you can learn (playing a musical instrument, painting) cos they will come in handy and serve as a proper hobby later!

3. Always trust your instincts. if you feel something is onekind, it usually turns out to be as you thought!

4. Get to know ur dad a bit more . . . he's been through things that you havent!

5. and very important, no sex b4 marriage! yup, you dont need it. . . doesnt add anything to ur relationships. but i know u're probably not going to listen to me, but then I just have t' tell u.

Stay the way you are and never change because of anyone or anything! and according to a very special friend that I know now, LIFE NA PER HEAD!

Love Always,
you @ 28
