FamilyRe: This Lady Has No Womb Nor Cervix by TiffanyJ(f): 7:15am On Apr 19, 2016
A very close friend of mine have the same health issues. When we were teenagers and in a boarding school, we couldn't understand why she wasn't menstruting when all six of us in the cliq were. At first, we thought it was normal but it wasn't. She was living with an aunt who didn't care about what was going on with the girl.by the way the aunt is a nurse in a federal hospital. Her aunt would tell her, 'and so what if you are not menstruting?'
It took her years of self pity and our urge to finally tell her uncle. He cried that day and took her to the hospital. That was when it was discovered that she has no womb, no vagina, no uterus. She was twenty one years old, then.
Now she is 28, a graduate and had just passed out of nysc last Thursday. This beb is too beautiful, tall, dark, full breast, flat stomach and hips. Her hair is long, so long it falls below her shoulders. Whenever she walks, men stared at her beauty and often ask her out but she didn't want to date. Only her very close of friends know her problem and we never tell others. It is her right to.

Any way, God doesn't make mistakes. He said we are all beautiful and wonderfully made. Whatever situation we found ourselves, we should give thanks

The following week, Maureen was in her sixteen weeks but had refused to cowered. She and kemi went to the secretariat for their Community Development Service when she noticed the way other ladies looked at her. She dared them with her eyes to ask if she were pregnant. Knowing Maureen as the trouble maker, no one dared. They could only speculate.
After the service, their cordinator announced that a Maureen Jason should meet the state cordinator's secretary. There was a message for her. Both Maureen and Kemi were confused. They went to the secretary and Maureen introduced herself.
'Good afternoon ma, I am Maureen Jason'
'Oh, Maureen? With the state code 133?'
'Yes ma'
The woman looked through her files and removed a pink paper, then handed it to her. Maureen looked suspiciously at her'
'Ma, I don't understand'
'Young lady, you've been relocated to abuja. Only God knows the number of men you slept with to pull this thing. Girls of nowadays'
'But sorry, if I a may say. Don't insult me. Did I sleep with your husband?'
'How dare you?'
'Did I ask you to relocate me for you to embarrass me in front of these corpers?', Maureen said, her eyes scanning the room and glaring at the four corpers in the room.
'I will deal with you. I will make sure you get the dirtiest place for your primary assignment and I will make sure you get a two months extension'
Maureen angry, flared up. You can deal with me anywhere but not in Abuja. You know why?, Abuja is home. Here claiming righteousness when maybe one of your daughter is a who.re'
The noise brought in the state cordinator. After listening to the secretary, he seized the letter from Maureen.
'Your parents did very poor with you. What is your name?'
'Maureen Jason', she said
He went stilled. This lady, had very powerful friends. He had given mr. Nicholas his word that she would be relocated. He called her to his office and advised her to work on her character.
'No man would want to marry viper for a wife', he told her.
'But she insulted me sir', maureen defended
'Why not just ignore her her? Now, I will give you back this letter, and you will apologize to her. She is old enough to be your mother'
'Why I'm I relocated? I didn't ask for this'
'You did', he told her with a smile.
'Just work on your character and your tongue'
Maureen, returned, apologize to the woman and together with Kemi, went home.

*****
The pink letter had commanded Maureen to report at NYSC secretariat, Abuja on monday morning and the letter was given to her on friday. She spent the weekend packing her bags. Kemi had been a huge help to her.
'Who worked it out?', kemi asked
'I'm not sure but I think its Mich'
'You are lucky to have her you know'
'I am. By the way, the house is now yours. The rent would expire two months after our passing out'
'It will never be the same without you'
'If you like, you can get someone to share it with you'
'Meeting you is the greatest thing that had happened to me'
'Work harder and get retained. If you don't get retained, come to Abuja, there two spare room in our house, I know some of mich's and Joel's friends that can help you get a job. Of course, you will pack out once you are settled'
'Oh, thank you'
When mich finally packed her bags to the park, kemi had cried her heart out. Maureen too had cried as she waved at her friend when the car began moving. She would miss kemi.

******
Maureen arrived late sunday evening, very tired. Joel was too angry for her to call him to pick her up so she took a taxi. She arrived home at quarter to eight. She missed home. she left her bags for the security guard to bring them in. She opened the door and found Joel, lying on one of the sofa while Mich help Leila with her home-work and the twins watching a cartoon.
The whole room became alive as the kids ran to her for a hug.
'Aunt Maureen did you buy me a new toy?', Kenneth asked.
'Do you miss me?'
'Yes' leila and the twins chorused.
Joel looked on and refused to say a word. He refused to answer her greetings. An our later, after all the excitement and the kids were bathed and put to bed, Joel had time for his sister.
'What are you doing here?'
'Dah, this is also my father's house', she sneered at him.
'Okay. What are you doing in Abuja?'
'I got relocated'
'Show me the letter'
Maureen opened her handbag and shoved the letter into his hands.
'So you are ashamed to stay in shame?'
She just went up. Joel turned to his wife.
'You did that?'
'Yes, I had her relocated'
'Why?'
'Isn't it obvious?'
'Without my permission?'
'Do I need it?'
'Yes'
'In case you don't know. Maureen needs someone to take care of her. She needs to be registered at the hospital and go for ante-natal check-up. In Lagos, who would see to that?'
'Okay, you made your point'
'I think Maureen is hiding the father of her child'
'I think not'

*****
She had comfortably settled in Abuja and had been posted to work as an accountant in her brother's hospital, all thanks to Mich. Now, maureen went to work only if she wanted to. She would sometimes just lie back in bed and claim morning sickness. Joel was still not talking to her and she observed he hardly eats anymore.
She was nineteen weeks gone when she decided that her child must have a root. She waited for the house to be cleared. Joel at the hospital, Mich in school and the kids at school too. She wore a loose dress, picked a pair of sanders and spent two hours on her make-up. Her next move would start another drama and maybe, create enmity. Maureen didn't care. Her unborn child was now her main concern.

She took a cab to Wuse and alighted in front of Anthony Joseph house. She knew the man well and his habits, but she was ready for him. She knocked at the gate and a man guard opened the gate.
'Yes? Can I help you?'
'Is mr Anthony at home?'
'Yes'
'I need to talk to him'
'You can't. He is...'
Maureen pushed the old man out of her way and walked in. She went to the front door and entered. She visited this house once, with Tara and Mich.
The guard followed her in. She found Anthony, listening to the 9am news. He saw her and frowned. She smiled and extended her hands. Anthony refused to take it.
''I know you', he told her
'Yes, you do'
The guard quietly left them.
'I assume this is not a social visit?'
'No'
'You are Mich's sister-in-law, aren't you?'
'Yes, I am'
She sat down and crossed her legs. Anthony watched, amused.
'What can I do for you young manner less lady?'
'You see sir, I am carrying your grandchild. Your son, the big idi ot doesn't know a thing about responsibility'
'Don't you dare come here and insult my kid. If you truly. Are pregnant for henry, you know he would never leave that gold digger Linda, for you. Now get out of my house'
'I'm not leaving here'
Anthony smiled bitterly.
'You want money?'
'No'
'What do you want?'
'I want a paternity test'
'You are a fool, young lady. Linda will kill you'
'I'm not carrying Henry's child'
'Then whose?'
'Your exile son'
'Jake?'
'Correct'
Anthony was shocked. The lady looked so focused and ready for anything.
'Are you sure? My Jake doesn't do women, he is such a nice...'
'Open your eyes mr Anthony'
Anthony knew this is a serious allegation. But jake? Everyone thought Jake was a virgin. Deep down, he knew the girl was saying the truth and he loved her. First thing first, a family meeting must ensured and jake must be here to defend himself.
If jake was really going to be a father, Anthony would be relieved because people were already calling his second son 'gay'
He brought out his phone and made two calls.
Anthony placed a call to Jake first. Maureen comfortably sat down and listened to his conversation.
'Hello?'
'Jake how are you doing?'
'I'm fine father, how is your health?'
'Better'
'Okay'
'Jake, I want you to board the next available flight to Abuja'
'I have a business meeting tomorrow. Its about that new client of ours that...'
'Forget business will you? This is a family gathering'
'What is the matter?'
'Until you come'
'I can't come here yet, I...'
'Young man, I don't care if you are meeting Obama tomorrow, I want you back home unfailingly', his father said and quietly pressed the end button.
His next phone call was to Henry.
'Father good morn'
'Morning. Where are you?'
'At the agency'
'Meet me in my house immediately'
'Father, is everything alright?'
'Everything is not alright', Anthony informed his first son. He turned to the lady and was surprised to find her curled up on the sofa and sleeping.
Henry, a tall dark skinned man of thirty-seven drove into his father's compound not knowing what to expect. He parked his car and walked into the house. His father couldn't hide his excitement.
'Father...'
Henry said but halted as his eyes settled on the sleeping lady. He was much more confused. Maureen and his father?
'This is Joel sister', he said
'So I heard'
'What is she doing here?'
'Hmm'
'I heard she is pregnant and couldn't point out the man, please don't tell me you are responsible'
'Don't insult me boy'
'Then what is she doing here?'
Maureen's eye snapped open. She slowly looked at the two men and sat up, suddenly feeling hungry.
'I'm hungry, where is the kitchen?', she asked
The two men only stared at her. Anthony found himself pointing at the kitchen door. She stood up and walked in. No words were exchanged. She returned, with a maid almost on her heels. A big cup of tea and bread was placed for her. Henry couldn't take the silent anymore.
'What is happening here?'
'Oh Henry, I'm sure Joel already told you I am in the family way'
'So? Did I tell you to sleep around?'
'I did not sleep around'
'Tell that to your unborn kid'
Maureen smiled.
'I have decided to name him after my father. Yes, Jason Joseph. You know, a new child is about to be brought into this family'
'You are mad'
'Really? Then your brother is mad to have made me pregnant'
'Jake?', henry was astounded.
'I am nineteen weeks pregnant for your irresponsible brother'
'You are insane, in fact, if not for your brother and Mich, I would have dealt seriously with you'
'Empty threats. You don't scare me Henry'
Anthony watched the drama with smiles. He liked the girl already. She was so full of life and so carefree with her tongue and her attitude.
'Henry, she claims Jake is responsible for her pregnancy', Anthony filled Henry in
'I am not claiming'
Henry picked his phone to call Henry but his father stopped him.
'He will be here tomorrow'
Henry still thought she was mad, he decided to call Joel.
'Hello'
'Joel, how is work?'
'Work is fine. How about Linda and the kids?'
'All fine. Are you sure your sister doesn't need a psychiatrist?'
'Beg your pardon?'
'She is at my father's. come and get her'
'What is she doing there?'
'Said my brother, whom we all know hated her is responsible for her pregnancy'
'I'm on my way'
After eating, Maureen laid back again. Henry was staring daggers at her but she didn't care. A knock sounded at the door and her brother walked into the house.
'Good morning sir', he greeted Anthony
'Morning'
Joel looked at his sister and felt embarrassed.
'Maureen what is the meaning of this?'
'You should be happy, finally, I remember the person responsible for the pregnancy'
'Who?'
'Jake'
'Are you sure?'
'I'm not stupid Joel, I had an affair with Jake for a good month', Maureen blurted out without one ounce of shame.
Henry told Joel that Jake would be available the next day.
'Why did you come here maureen?'
'I want a paternity test'
Let's go home, tomorrow, when Jake comes, we shall discuss this with him'
Maureen surprisingly went with her brother. At the car, he told her how shameless she was. Joel was finally a bit relieved that his sister had pointed at someone. The thought that she couldn't identify the man responsible for her pregnancy had given him sleepless nights. At home, she alighted from his car and banged the door. He looked at her departing figure and knew he had to finally tell her the truth about her pregnancy from the ultrasound his colleague had carried. If his sister found out he was holding such vital information from her, hell would break loose.
He and Mich had fought over it the previous morning, in the serenity of their room.
'You can't just refuse to tell her', she had told him.
'I know but, remember that I am still not talking to her'
'Pretense. You are angry but we both know you still care for her. Isn't that why you told Dr Damian to always report any development to you directly before her?'
'She is just a kid'
'A kid? You dare call a fully grown woman a kid? Snap your eyes open my love, Maureen is twenty-five years old already'
'Why are you provoke?'
'You know your sister, when she finally finds out the truth, I will not come to your rescue'
'I'm not asking you to'
'Good', was the answer she gave him and walked to the bathroom for her bath.
Now, Joel realized he needed to tell his sister but something was holding him back.

********
'Maureen?', Joel had shouted her name the following day.
She came down, slowly in a peach gown. He looked at her from head to toe. The pregnancy was making her skin glow.
'Why are you staring at me like this? Aren't you the one shouting at me to hurry up? If we are not late I want to go back to my room and rest'
'Rest? You don't even work'
'In case you don't notice, I am pregnant'
'Oh, the one that doesn't have a father?', he said to her.
Maureen shunned him. Henry had called to tell Joel that Jake had arrived and they were waiting for them. The two siblings went to the car and Joel drove them to the Joseph's. Maureen began lagging behind once they were in the compound.
'Oh, afraid to quench the fire you had blatantly started?', Joel attacked.
'I'm scared of no one and nothing'
'Then my friend, stop lagging behind. My hospital needs me'
'You sound as if the damn hospital is more important than me'
'At the moment, little sister, yes', Maureen hissed. Joel glared at her and walked away.
Once inside the house he found two generations of the Joseph. The older generation looked up when Joel entered and the two younger followed.
'Good morning to you all', Joel greeted
'Morning', came the chorused reply.
Jake had arrived tired the night before and was more confused when his father and brother seemed to be keeping something from him. He was only told to have patience.
'Where the hell is she?', Henry shouted
The door opened and Maureen walked in. Her eyes scanned the room for Jake. She found him and almost laughed at the sight of him. She had missed him.
On seeing her, Jake had went to his feet.
'What is she doing here?', he asked Henry
'Jake, she came here with some allegations'
'Allegations? That what?'
'That I am carrying your child', maureen shouted at him.
'A call girl have no right to make such allegation'
'Call girl?', Joel asked
Jake was too angry to notice that Joel and Maureen might be related.
'Yes Joel. No one would force me into accepting another man's child. I met this wh.re at a party, spent the night with her and paid her for her services'
'Don't forget to add that the affair lasted for a whole month', Maureen shouted at him
'What affair? I'm asking you, what affair? There was never an affair between us. It was a business arrangement and I paid for every of the services rendered' Jake snapped
Joel was digesting the information. 'Maureen, tell me you didn't collect money from this man', Joel asked her
Maureen didn't said a word.
'Yes, I did collected some money but I didn't make use of it. I...'
'After all I did to you? What do you need money for? Why would you sell your dignity for money that you don't lack. I would have sold the whole hospital and help you from whatever trouble. I rented a house for you in Lagos, with your nysc allowance, Mich still gives you money. Why did you choose to embarrass me like this?'
'Joel, it really wasn't about the money', maureen said in tears.
'Tell me what it was about and where this man's money is. We will return it and go back home'
'I'm not going back home. You've done your part in my life. I want full reign now'
Jake had seen the resemblance and had realized that the girl duped him. She fooled him and he let her. He had seen the signs, yet he allowed lust to cloud his memory.
'I have two questions for you. How many men did you sleep with for money?', joel asked his sister
'Only Jake', she had now stopped crying and was determine to carry on'
'Where is Jake's money?'
'I mailed it to Tara's orphanage'
'We will confirm from Tara. Now let's go home', he said and dug his hands into her arms. She pushed him away.
'I'm going no where. Jake, I want my paternity test'
Jake looked at his father, then his brother.
'So you brought me here because of this abomination?', his middle finger was pointing at Maureen.
'Oh mine Jake, this abomination was too good that you had to look for another extension when the one month expired. Remember the day you came to my house? The three sitter...'
'Shout that mouth up Maureen', he went closer to her
'Come and shut it for me. By the way, did your family know what you truly are? And why I had to refuse you?' Turning to Henry, she said
'Your brother here has a secret, oh it isn't a secret really. He is a...'
Jake had hastily covered her mouth with his palm. She bit him but he didn't care. His life was his personal thing and he hated her for letting them out.
'Jake allow the lady to talk', his father was anxious to know the truth about his son
Jake removed his hands from her mouth and looked at her with hatred.
'I am going back to Lagos. I want nothing to do with this wh.re'
'So sorry Jake, we need to carry that test', maureen told him
'Maureen, it is dangerous to have a prenatal paternity test. You might have a miscarriage in the process', joel told her
'I don't care. This irresponsible man will not render my child a bast.rd'
It was Anthony who finally made a decision that the paternity test should be carried. It would clear all doubts and even create boundaries. Maureen was taken to the hospital by Joel and Henry. Dr Damian had a check on her and finally decided that she could take a risk. He gave his permission for the test to be carried. Joel suggested. Biosensors medical diagnostics, located at Wuse 2.
'How do they do this prenatal DNA test?', Anthony asked
'It is an ultrasound way of guiding a thin needle into a woman's uterus through her abdomen. The needle draws out a small amount of amniotic fluid, which is tested'
They went to the hospital and a cheek swab was collected from Jake. Joel was seen whispering something to the scientist. The man nodded. Over the years, had carried out this type of test.
Maureen and Jake were told that the result would be ready in three days.
'Three days? I'm leaving for Lagos'
'You are going no where Jake', his father told him.

From the hospital, they all went their separate ways. Joel took his sister back home. He didn't want to even say a word to her. He was afraid he would give her a slap in the process.

CHAPTER TW0

The next evening, which was a Saturday, Denise appeared at their door, a black pants and pink shirt. He was tall, heavily built and dark, yet Maureen was bored by the mere sight of him. He was one of the most handsome in their CDS and ladies were practically asking him out but it was Maureen he loved.
"Welcome', she told him
'Corper we', he teased her
'Wa', she replied to the corpers' greeting code.
'Are you ill?', he asked her
'I'm fine but bored'
'Where is Kemi?'
'She is sleeping in the bedroom'
'Go wake her up. I am taking you both out'
'I don't think...'
'Maureen Jason, I am not gonna kidnap you out there. Get dressed let's go'
She went to the room, woke kemi up and the two ladies dressed and followed him to his saloon which he parked outside
He took them to a Cinema, where they watched the film 'Mum, Dad, meet Sam'. It was very funny but Maureen couldn't wait to get back home. After the movie, Denise took them for a late dinner at Kentucky fried chicken eatery.

******
Two months after the affair, Denise had taken Maureen to the beach and kemi was left at home. Maureen had tried to coaxed her into coming along but Kemi had insisted that she wouldn't want to stand in Denise way.
'You know I don't love him'
'I know but this is actually a step to mending your heart. At least, it is better than just sitting around, doing nothing but thinking of that psychic, Jake'
Maureen had gone. As the knock at the door persisted, kemi wondered who it was. Maureen would never knock at the door. she didn't bother changing her short and shirt. She walked to the door and swung it open.
A very tall dark man was standing at the door arguing with a tall, slender, beautiful lady who was so expensively dressed in a short loose fitted gown and a red heels. She looked like a model. They stopped arguing on seeing her. Kemi stared at the handsome man with a beautiful lips. He looked a bit familiar to her though.
'You are Kemi, aren't you?', the woman asked her
'May I know how you got to know my name?'
'Actually, I am Mich and this is Joel, Maureen's brother'
Kemi jaw dropped. She was shocked and speechless.
'May we come in?', Joel spoke softly
she recognized the voice. She now knew why he looked a bit familiar. He and Maureen shared resemblance.
'May we come in?', he asked again
'Of course, please do come in'
She ushered them in. Who was she to tell him no? He had paid the rent to the flat. She watched him fill the room with his presence. He sat on the three sitter and his wife next to him. Kemi ran to the kitchen and brought them a bottle of soft drink and water.
'Where is Maureen?', he asked quietly
'She went out'
'Is that why she isn't picking my call? Look at the time, its almost 8pm'
'Come on Joel, you talk as if Maureen is a kid', Mich bloated out
'Okay', he said to her and then draw her to him. She snuggled willingly into his arms
''Sweetheart, I told you, we should have informed her that we were coming. It isn't fair to her that we came in unannounced'
'My love, I know Maureen, I bathed her, fed her and raised her to adulthood. All is not well that my own Maureen would avoid home. This is the same Maureen that couldn't bear to spent a week away from her niece and nephews. Something is wrong'
'Sweating, why not just accept that she is simply living her life, Mich told him as she placed a kiss on his lips, he smiled and held her. They seem to have forgotten Kemi.

******
Maureen laughed dryly as he alighted from the saloon. she noticed a red honda accord in front of the house and wondered who was visiting Kemi. Denise followed her into the house to say hello to Kemi. She opened the door and stopped
She saw joel and Mich, on the three sitter and Kemi, on a stool. Mich, on seeing Maureen left her seat, the two women embraced and laughed together
'How are you Maureen?'
'Very fantastic'
'You've emaciated. Hope you are not on those diets again?'
'Hell no. I am enjoying Lagos'
Mich released Maureen and she ran to her brother who quickly went on his feet. She jumped on him and he held her very tightly.
'My little Maureen', he said with a smile, a smile that vanished the moment he placed her on her feet and gazed fully on her.
'Who is he?', mich asked
'oh, this is Denise, he is also a corp member', turning to Denise she said,
'Denise, this is my brother, Joel and his wife, Mich'
Before Denise could anything, Joel said without smiling,
'Are you responsible for Maureen's pregnancy?'
'Pregnancy?', three people chorused at once.
'Three to four months old', he said bitterly
'Sweetheart, why would you say our Maureen is pregnant?'
'I am an obstetrician. I know pregnant women when I see them'
'I am not pregnant Joel, stop embarrassing me in front of my friends'
'Now tell me, when last did you see your period?'
'Day before yesterday', Maureen and Kemi answered together.
'Kemi, why are you covering her up?',Joel asked
'I'm not sir, honestly'
Maureen, infuriated at her brother picked her bag and began walking towards the door.
'Come back here'
'No Joel, you don't get to command me around. I am no longer a kid. I want you out of my house when I returned'
Joel moved to the door and stood by it.
'Push me ', he told her. She threw her bag and ran into the room. Joel glared at Denise.
'On your way, young man', he said and denise quietly walked out.
Mich immediately attacked her husband.
'How could you embarrass your own sister like that Joel?'
'Stay out of this Mich', he barked
'Why should I? I am family too or I'm I not?'
'You are'
'Good. Now care to tell me why? Is it because she didn't come home for a visit? That is her life and her choice'
'My love, Maureen didn't get pregnant when she was a teen, why shame herself now?'
'Are you sure?'
'Hundred percent'
'Okay, let's go back to the hotel, maureen is upset and you are also upset. Tomorrow we talk'
'No, I am not leaving here. First thing in the morning, I will personally take her for a test'
'Then where will we spent the night? I tot there is only one bedroom here?'
'I will call either Jake or Justin to come pick you up. I'm sleeping in this sitter'
'You are not serious'
Mich walked to the bedroom and found Maureen sobbing. Kemi followed her inside.
'Maureen?'
'I hate him, I hate so much. I wish my parents are here'
'Stop crying will you. But are you sure you are not pregnant?'
'I'm not'
Have you seen this month's period?'
'Yes'
'When?'
Maureen was forced to give dates of her previous three four months floor. They were all regular.
'I can't leave you in this condition. Sleep, tomorrow we go to the hospital'
'I'm not going anyway'
'Please, you have to. It would give the last verdict and I assure you, if it comes out negative, I will make Joel pay for his behavior'
'Will you?'
'Yes'
'Okay. I think this bed will be enough for the three of us, that is if you don't mind sharing'
'Of course I don't'
Kemi gave Mich a clothe. They lay down and slept, each thinking of the next day

Kemi knew there was trouble the moment maureen returned from the hospital, the following day with Mich and Joel on her heels. She ran into the room and lay on the bed.
'What is it?', kemi asked
'I am fourteen weeks pregnant'
'But you still see your period'
'It is what I don't understand'
the door slammed opened and Joel entered. His eyes were red. It was as if he cried.
'Now, Maureen, kindly tell me the man responsible for this pregnancy'
'Joel', she said in tears
'Yes?'
'Mich, please beg Joel for me. I know I have disappointed him'
'Joel, please, don't start behaving like Jordan here. Give her a chance to speak'
'I am giving her a chance'
'Is it Denise?'
'No'
'Isn't he your boyfriend?'
'I have never slept with him?'
'So who?'
'Maureen began sweating. Mich found herself remembering her own past and her questioning
'Who impregnated you?'
'Joel, I'm so sorry. I never knew it would come to this'
'I will kill you today'
He came closer, Maureen, seeing the anger in her brother ran behind Mich.
'Joel, go to the living room. I want to have a chat with Kemi and Maureen'
'Let me kill her and maybe, the pain in my heart will go away'
'Go. Give me twenty minutes'
He left and Mich looked at the two girls.
'Kemi, I'm sure, you know all her males friend. Start giving me names'
'I...I...'
'Her brother is angry. He needs result and we have to give him one now'
'Mich', Maureen said in tears'
'I will tell you, but please you will beg him for me won't you?'
'I will. Whoever he is, don't be afraid, just tell me. I will understand'
'Okay', she said amidst sobs.
'I went to the club last three months and drank myself to stupor. A man, took advantage of me. I followed him to a hotel. It was just a one night stand. I swear I don't even know his name'
Mich immediately felt dizzy. She found a place and sat down.
'You mean, you cannot identify the man responsible?'
'Well, he is short, slim and fair'
'Maureen how could you?', Mich began crying. Kemi knew it was Jake but dared not voice it out.
Joel entered and found his wife crying.
'Now Maureen, who is he?'
Mich managed to wipe away her tears and explained to him in a mild tone what Maureen had told her. Joel removed his belt.
'I will kill you', he said and in tears used it on Maureen.
'Mich stood up and hugged her husband very tight. Preventing him from hitting his sister
'This is not you Joel. Later, you will hate yourself for this. I've seen Maureen disobey and disrespected you many times, you've never used a belt on her'
Joel threw away the belt and walked out of the house. He returned the next very calm.
'Mich, let's go. I booked us a flight'
'What about Maureen?'
'She will join us later. Don't worry. Staying here while the pregnancy grow for all her corper friends to see is her shame to bear'
'And look here Maureen, I forbid you to terminate that pregnancy. Do you remember mother's last words to you before she passed away?'
'Yes'
'Good. Think of it every night before you go to sleep'
He said and walked out.
'What was your mother's last words to you?'
'If I ever get pregnant outside marriage, I must bear my shame and have my child. If I try to remove it, I will die in the process. I was just ten then, now, I am an adult and pregnant'

Mich called Justine that evening. She asked him for a special favour.
'Why?'
'Because she is pregnant and can't even point out the man responsible for it. The shame there would kill. Make it as snappy as possible, if you need help, call Jordan but the bottom line is, I want Maureen relocated back to Abuja'
'I will try'
'I don't want you to try, I want you to move the whole state if possible. Do it within two weeks. Don't let her know you are responsible, I want her to be called to an NYSC office and the later quietly issued to her'
'After all she did to you? Why are you helping her?'
'Because, she is my sister just as you are my brother. Don't forget, no one is to know this, except you and Jordan'
*********
A week after Joel and Mich left for Abuja, Maureen finally decided to continue her day to day activities. Dennis had been so disappointed and heart broken when she finally owned up to him that she was pregnant. He had left her apartment and had never called again. Kemi on her part was not happy with Maureen for lying to Joel and Mich. The two ladies had fought twice already, with Kemi insisting that Jake had a right to know he was having a son and it was his duty to provide financial support.
Maureen couldn't bring herself to tell Kemi that Jake thought she was a called girl and the two had fought, argued and recently, not in talking terms.
Maureen returned from work that afternoon and found Kemi already around. These days, kemi didn't even want to wait for her anymore. She just picked her bag and return home. Maureen, being the attention seeker, hated this new development.
'Kemi, I'm the one pregnant not you', kemi told her.
'And I am glad'
'So why are you not talking to me?'
'Why should I Maureen? You are so selfish you care for no one but yourself'
'That's not true'
'It is'
'It isn't. I cared for you. I made sure you got a good place of primary assignment, I convinced joel to rent this apartment for us, I share almost all I have with you'
'So? What about the child growing in your womb?'
'I will raise him as mine and he or she will be a Jason. No one ever have to know his real identity'
'As selfish as you can be'
'I know what is right for me and my child'
'You do?'
'Yes'
'What about your brother. You broke his heart when it was confirmed you are pregnant but you stabbed him at the back when you said you don't know who is responsible. I have never seen a grown up cry the way he did here. I was almost tempted to spill the beans'
'Never you try that Kemi'
'You selfish lady, your family are in pains, your son would grow up, seeing others with both parents and you will forever have to explain to him how and why he doesn't have a father. Don't you have conscience?
'Jake won't take the baby'
'Then do your part and inform him that your one month affair had a consequence. Tomorrow, you can always tell your child who his or her father is'
'No'
'Then I am not talking to you. I will not be a part of this heartlessness'

********
Three days later, Maureen decided she didn't want to raise a child who would grow up with the likes of Kenneth, Kelvin, Leila, Daisy, Eugene, Miracle and Lizabeth without knowing his own father. She waited until Kemi went out to get some groceries before she brought out her phone and dialed her lover's number.
'Hello?'
'Hello jake, its Maureen'
'I know. You changed your mind about being my mistress?'
'I...I want us to meet'
'I traveled to Abuja and just returned but meet me at the hotel in two hours'
'Okay', Maureen said .

She went for a bath and took her time, practicing how to break her news to Jake. Deep down, she knew he would never take responsibility.
She carefully dressed in a red dress and black sandals. She arrived at the hotel and went up to the room and found him waiting for her.
'You are late, Maureen'
'Yes'
'Take off your clothes, I need to see you unclad'
Maureen moved closer. She bit her lips and stared at him.
'Maureen? I'm waiting'
'Actually Jake, I am not here for s.x'
'Oh, what is it?'
'I need to talk to you'
He sat up and listened to her
'I lied when I told you I am a call her. I am not. I was simply being foolish'
'You are a call girl Maureen, why claim righteous now? I gave you my money and gifts for all of your services and you took them with you'
'Yes but I never did...'
'Keep that long story short. What do you want from me?'
'I am fourteen weeks pregnant'
'Congratulations. What else?'
'Its yours. I swear it'
'Now you listen, kindly look for another customer and tie this rope you are about to tie around my neck. Yes I was intimate with you, I was never stupid enough to do it without contraceptives. My doctors prescribe d contraceptives for you which I made sure you swallow after our every rumble. The few times the we run out of these drugs, I used con.doms'
' I know but'
'All I know is that you are a call girl looking for a mugu. I will not be that man and you are not smart enough to force me'
'Jake!'
'Get out of here, get out and never you return. I owe you nothing because I paid for every services offered'
Before Maureen could form a word, jake left his seat and began pushing her out. He shut the door on her and she quietly went back to her apartment. She met kemi in the room
'Where were you?'
'Are you now talking to me?'
'The rumor around is that you are pregnant. Corpers are talking, you know'
'Who told them?'
'I don't know. You can deny this Maureen, pregnancy is not something that can be hidden. When asked I simply tell them I don't noticed you being pregnant'
'God Kemi, I can't bear this shame anymore. I am going back home'
'You can't be serious'
'Of course I am. I have done so many bad things in my past and now they are coming back to hunt me'
'Deep down, is a nice and generous lady'
'I was with jake, he denied paternity'
'That scoun drel. I never did liked him'

What i am saying
Sorry am a critic, i have enjoyed your story from start but lemme say this.

Everyone is linked to everyone.
Everyone is getting pregnant like pregnancy is d reason they end up together.
Am yet to see the luv start n grow n be so real.
I expected a different twist to this story not same like others.

If Kemi had been the one to meet and fall in love with this new guy, won't it be better? While Maureen watches n plots evil being d spoilt brat.

Just saying.
Just a different twist.
Right now I see d end of this story.
Yes, everyone is linked to everyone because this is a family series. The story is not interested in Kemi, it is interested in Maureen and Jake. It tries to make them understand what life really is about. From the previous series, we see Maureen as a spoilt girl and Jake as a loner living in exile. This story is an opportunity for us readers to see them in another persfective and then make our final judgement of their characters.

Only linda got pregnant before her marriage. Mich got married first before getting pregnant, tara didn't marry jordan because she was pregnant but because he rap ed her, and she was an innocent. By the way dear, this story isn't interested in maureen's pregnancy, it is interested in life after that.
The only thing you can be so right about knowing the end of the story is that it would end in a happily ever after way. Apart this, trust me, no one, not even you can guess the plot of this story. Its something I took my time to plan and this story dear is proof that pregnancy is not marriage.
By the way, thanks for being a critic. Its something a writer can't ever avoid

Most of you here think Tiffany does not want to update. That's not true. Tiffany's battery is flat for the past few days and Tiffany can not make an update with a flat battery. PHCN just restored the light for just five minutes and now its gone. If the light is restored today, Tiffany will update

I don't like the pregnancy twist to everyone.
Then the link of everyone to everyone else

What about Kemi taking Maureens place instead.
Everything is expected
I don't seem to understand what you are saying. Can you please elaborate? Thanks ma

'What?', she asked seductively.
'What do you want?', she asked him again.
Jake got rid of his towel and wore his trousers, his shirt before answering her.
'I want an exclusive job', he said while looking intently at her.
'Exclusive?', she asked very confused.
'I want to be your only lover', he explained
'I don't think it will work', she answered
'I will pay you well Maureen. Your bills shall be handled by me but you will come to me any day, any time I call on you'
'You mean you want me to be your mistress?', she was surprised.
'Yes. Not for long'
'For how long?'
'A month. During this time, I will pay you, weekly. But you must earn your wage'
Maureen was silent. A sane voice in her head told her to flee. She had had her filled of Jake four times. Lingering may be dangerous. She looked up at him and was about declining his offer when her eyes met his broad chest. Glittering from the bath he just had, at that moment, all she wanted was to have him hold her, cuddle her, kiss her and make another love to her. She looked up at his handsome face and knew that a one night stand wasn't enough for her.
'So?', he asked her suspiciously.
'Can I think about it?', she managed to say
'No. Make your decision now Maureen. A chance like this may never come your way again'
Yes, she knew it. She couldn't remember the last time she enjoyed such sexual fulfillment and now that she had tasted the forbidden fruit, she wanted more of it.

'Okay, agreed', as she said the words, she first saw her mother's face, and then Joel. No, Joel was happily married and her mother died, a long time ago. This was her life and she was an adult.
'In that case, give me your mobile number', Jake told her. She called out the digits for him while he put them down on his Samsung galaxy. You can sleep here if you wish. Will come for you by noon. Get ready.
'I can't stay here, I need to get back home', she couldn't tell him that she needed to go to work.
'Do you live alone?'
'No. I live with my friend'
'Okay then, give me your address, will come pick you up by noon'
She did and he began walking out. He halted at the door and said to her,
'Oh, lest I forget, hope you are as good with mouth job?'
'How?', she asked confused
If I am paying, you will be ready for me, however and whenever I want it'
Before she could sum up a reply, Jake had stormed out of the room. She laid down on the bed and was dozing when her phone rang. She already knew who was ringing her. She took the call and pressed the receive button
'Good morning beb', she said cheerfully'
'Where are you?', kemi asked her
'Ikoyi'
'You gave me a scare'
'I told you not wait up'
'You are with a man, aren't you?'
'Yep'
'What about your work. I'm about leaving'
'Please tell mr John that I lost my mother and had to travel for the burial'
'How can you stoop so low Maureen?'
'Will you or will you not tell mr John that...'
'That your dear mother who died for more than a decade suddenly died again? I will but your brother...'
'Leave my brother out of this'
'Okay. Maureen?'
'Yea?'
'Please tell me he used contraceptives'
'He sure did. Anything else?'
'No, hope you have your keys with you?'
'I do, somewhere in my clutch'
'Bye'
'Bye Kemi'
Maureen said and quickly pressed the end button. She had left her blackberry phone at home. Her nokia torchlight was her clubbing phone as she dared not go with an expensive phone for fear of loosing it. She laid down for an hour before leaving the bed, walking to the bathroom, having a shower, she put back her clothes on and went downstairs to give the keys to the receptionist.

Maureen unlocked the door to their flat, and went straight to the bedroom where she changed into a short and a shirt. No sooner had her head touched the pillow that she began sleeping. She came awake to some noise and slowly opened her eyes to see Kemi changing her clothes. Maureen looked at the clock on the wall. The time was just 12 noon. She sat up
'Did the CEO of GTB kick the bucket?'
'Were you the one that killed him?', kemi fired back.
'Well, you came home early. I'm just surprised'
'Are you?'
What happened?'
'Mr. John gave me the day off'
'Why?'
'You lost your mother, remember?'
Kemi had been worried sick about Maureen and the change in her behaviour that she wasn't concentrating. Everyone thought she too was mourning Maureen's mum. She was so occupied with her thoughts and looking so sad that mr. John was forced to give her a day off.
'Go home Kemi and rest'
'I'm fine'
'Your best friend lost her mother and I know how this must be affecting you', he had told her.
'I'm fine', she insisted'
'No you are not. You aren't even concentrating. Look, I don't want you making a costly mistake here. Go home and return here on monday morning'
'Thank you sir', she had told him
Kemi looked at Maureen all over again and wondered what had came over her.
'You will have to switch off your blackberry for now. I will take care of our co-workers'
'Thanks Kemi', Maureen said, flinging her arms around her friend.
The two ladies began laughing and chatting in no time. Maureen was telling Kemi about how Joel had met and married Mich.
'Wow, and now, they are madly in love'
'I'm happy for them', maureen said with a giggle.
Their laughter was cut short by the knock on their front door. They were quiet as Kemi went to open the door. She swung it open and found herself staring at a rather tall man. He was muscular and very cute.
'Does Maureen lives here?'
'Yea'
'Tell her Jake is waiting for her'
At the name, Kemi gazed at him thoroughly. From his curled hair to his black sneakers.
'So you are Jake?'
'Yea'
'Curtsy demands you greet me first'
'I'm in a hurry and don't have time for this'
'You are so mannerless' she said and left him standing by the door. Maureen came running at the door.
'Why aren't you dressed?'
'I will be, in a short while. Please come in and make yourself at home', she said and urged him in.
Jake entered the tiled living room with a back and brown rug at the middle. He sat on the only cushion in the room. A three sitter and waited impatiently as Maureen went to the bedroom.
She was met by Kemi. Maureen ignored her and quickly showered. She dressed in a jean trouser and blue shirt.
'Madam where are you going to?'
'Out?'
'Where?'
'Kemi, Jake doesn't know we are corp members. Please hide those hideous khakis and boots'
'And why are you hiding your identity?'
'Does it matter?'
'Yes. It does to me'
'Look, kemi, I'm having an affair with Jake. It won't last long but I need it cause I am so lonely'
'You are lonely with me around?'
'Come on, you are not a man na'
'Okay'
'I watch you go to that your boyfriend. I know you have s.x with him, its none of my business but I am so lonely right now. I haven't been intimate with a man for eight months. I just need these few weeks to sort myself out. It will be over before you know it'
'Okay. But do you know him well enough?'
'Hmm, He is Jake Joseph. His older brother is married to Linda, Mich's friend and they are blessed with two beautiful kids. His half sister Tara is married to Mich's elder brother, Jordan and are also blessed with Eugene and Beth. His father is Anthony Joseph, he is...'
'Okay Maureen, you made your point. Get that lust off you and come back to your normal life. Just don't fall in love. I don't like that guy, and I am an excellent judge of character'
'So you kept saying'
'When you are done with him, kemi will always be here. But please, be careful'
'I will. Please don't wait up for me. Might spend the night with him'
'Bye'
Maureen walked to the living room and Jake stood up. He took her to his blue mercedes and began driving.
'I don't like that your friend'
'Oh you mean Kemi? She is a sweetheart, just get to know her'
'She walked out on me'
'Sorry'
'This house you live in, how much is the rent?'
'Two hundred thousand naira'
'How did you two pay?'
'We work'
'Oh, that kind of work. Park your things, for one month you will live at a hotel'
'No'
'Why?'
'Nothing'
'Okay'
She looked at the window and realized they were somewhere in ikoyi.
'Are we going back to the hotel?'
'No'
'Where are we going to?'
'The hospital'
'For what?'
'Come on Maureen. You are a call girl. You don't seriously expect me to just keep being intimate with you without knowing your medical situation, do you?'
'I am clean'
'The doctor will confirm it'
he took her to a small private hospital. Within minutes, she was at the lab, giving blood and urine samples. She was examined thoroughly while Jake waited at the reception. She emerged two hours later and Jake took her hands. He shook hands with a doctor and told him that he would expect the results in a few hours.
He took her back to the hotel they had spent the night and ordered lunch, she was very hungry so she ate everything from her plate. His phone rang and he answered it
'Hello'
She didn't hear what the person at the other end was saying but Jake replied,
'Henry, what's so special about Joel's sister? I won't check on her. Tell Justin to. Because she is fat, ugly and a spoiled brat'
Maureen was silent as Henry spoke though she couldn't hear what he was saying.
'I will travel to Abuja next week to check on the kids. Bye'
He flung the phone and sat beside her.
'Maureen, the fate of our romance lies in what the results say about your health condition'
'I am fine. How sure am I you are fine?', she asked
'I am more than healthy. Now let's talk about birth control'
'What about it?'
'If you come out clean, I won't want to use contraceptive again. I will take you to a hospital where you would be advised on the drugs to take'
'Okay'
'Sleep, you will need your strength, this night'
Maureen was already having second thoughts about her decision. she got rid of her clothes and crawled under the duvet. Jake picked his car keys and went out. She sat up and wandered in the room.
By evening, she was dozing when he came back with shopping bags. She looked at the time, and sat up. It was already 10pm.
He gave her one of the bags and told her to wear them in the bathroom. Obediently, Maureen wore the lace transparent short nighty. She felt like a wh.re in it but comforted herself with the fact that Jake satisfied her. Slowly, she walked back to the room and looked across to him
'It fits you so naturally'
'Yes'
Come, remove my clothes', he told her
By the time they were through with the first round, Maureen was giggling from toe to toe. 'Come Maureen, bath me', he told her and she obediently followed him.
Jake woke her up two more times that night and early in the morning. They slept from 7am till noon.
And so the affair continued. She sometimes go three days without seeing Kemi. Two weeks with Jake changed Maureen. She was tired, always sore dared not complain.
' Am I not paying you?', he kept reminding her.
The lust soon gave way to an emptiness. She lost weight and kemi had lied and covered for her for the few days she wasn't able to attend work. Because they chose the same Community Development Services, Kemi always took attendance for her friend.

Maureen didn't know how she did it. Their one month agreement came to an end and to her surprise, what she felt for Jake was disdain. She now knew the kind of person he was, an addict. He tried to renew their contract but she wouldn't hear of it. Joel and Mich were back but she was too broken to travel to Abuja.
She came back to her old life and realized that Mich was right. Nothing good would ever come out of having feeling for him. She saw her period a week after the affair went sore and shed tears of relieve. At work, they assumed she was mourning her mother. Kemi tried to get through to Maureen but couldn't. Jake had battered her, emotionally.
She mailed all the money he had given her to Tara's orphanage without including her name.
It was as if Jake used a sort of drugs on her. Whenever she had decided to stay away from him, all he need do was looked at her and she would cowered. It took all of her will power to finally flee.
For the first time in her life, someone had gotten the best of her. She felt dirty and foolish for allowing Jake treat her so.
'Maureen, I told you that the likes of Jake are fire. When you play with them you get burnt',Kemi had told her one morning
'Well, I won't be seeing him, ever again',she cut in
But alas, Maureen was wrong. This was the beginning of her and Jake's story. She had lied and schemed just to have Jake. Nothing passed by without repercussions. Her lies were finally catching up with her.
Mich had always told her, 'Maureen, my story with Shadrach and Karen are prove that our past come back to hunt us'
She was about to have a taste of it.
******
Two weeks after her affair with Jake went sore, Maureen spent all her money just to wear away the emptiness she felt. She sat in the house, brooding with bitter sweet feelings. She was more confused than ever. by the change engulfing her but refused to talk about it with Kemi. Maureen so much missed Jake and his hands on her body.
'How can I disdain him and still want him?' , she kept wondering. She knew where to go to for help- Mich, but she knew that Mich would never agree to her affair with Jake and would give her a negative reply

She was lying on the three sitter, reading a novel she was obviously not concentrating when the knock sounded on the door. She absently went to it and yanked it open. There, standing before her was her nemesis in a Jean and red polo shirt. He first took a look at her short tight skirt that barely covered her thighs and her strapless dress. The two stared hungrily at each other. Jake was mad with lust and she saw it. Immediately, she felt butterflies at the pit of her stomach and retreated to the room, as slowly and calmly as she could.
'Deny you don't want me', he whispered.
'I don't want you'
'Look me in the eyes and tell me that', Maureen couldn't, she was scared, scared he would see the naked yearning she now found him stirring in her.
'Your friend, is she home?', he asked
'She went to...'
He ran to the room, threw his Samsung galaxy carelessly on the tiled floor and captured her mouth in his. Maureen couldn't fight him, deep down, she realized this was what she had been brooding about for two weeks. She missed him, she missed him too much to refused him. His hands cupped her backside and she moaned into his mouth. That did it. He was tucking and tearing her clothes. All senses out of the window, she felt as if she belonged with him forever. He carried her to the three sitter, flung away the novel on it and kissed every inch of her. Maureen had cried. Tears of pain and pleasure. She wanted him to know she wasn't whom he thought she was. To know she was Joel's sister and take her to his house at Ikoyi, which he never did.
'Am I hurting you, Maureen?', he looked down at her
'No, please don't stop', she cried
'Are you sure?'
'Yes please'

With that, Jake did what he never thought he was capable of. All his life, he had never made love to a woman and cared for her feelings. He forgot Maureen was a call girl and forgot his own name and did all within his power for the first time in his life to please a woman. She was trashing and giving the whole of her body and soul to him
Jake didn't know how he did it, he managed to reach out to his trouser, then his wallet for a packet of contraceptive which he wore.
By the time he filled her, tears of happiness escaped her eyes. Jake looked, saw her eyes and knew she was shedding tears of passion not pain. Instinctively, he licked away her tears, telling her how she makes him go crazy, telling her she was one special woman.

******
They were both panting hard when he stood up, dashed to the bathroom and poured water over his body. He saw a jungle boot near a shoe rack and wondered what it was doing there. He returned, wet and found her lying on her back, instantly, he wanted her again.
'No Jake, I'm tired'
'I will pay you'
'No, I am done with being your plaything'
'What do you mean?'
'Please go'
She watched him wore his clothes, then went to the bathroom and picked a bathrobe, she wore it over her and turned to face him. Now that passion was over, it was now time for moment of truth.
'You need help Jake. I will help you'
'Help from who?'
'Not who, what?'
'Okay, what'
'You are an addict. I can not keep your pace anymore. I am tired and very sore after round three'
'I need no help'
'Let's surf the net. There may be a rehab center.
'Really?'
'Yes'
'And who are you to tell me that? You are a common call girl living in this house that was paid by a customer. You may be good in bed, but never you forget that your place. Your work is lying on your back to make money'
Maureen chocked, she won't let herself cry.
'Can't you see? I have come to like you, I can't do without you Jake, I love you', she foolishly whispered
'On your own girl, I won't ever stoop so low as to end up with your type'
He took his wallet, counted ten thousand naira and threw it on her. He picked his phone, the screen was damaged but he took one long look at her and left.

Maureen broke down into tears. What had she done to herself? She had forced herself to believe she hated Jake, this meeting was proof that she loved him. There and then, she realized why she was hurt, why she felt empty and used. It was because she loved him, yet he hated Maureen Jason. He wanted wh.re and not the real character. Again, could she risk it with an addict? Even the one she loved?

********
Maureen couldn't bring herself to lie to Kemi when she walked in and saw her crying.
'Why did you go ahead and fall in love with him?'
I can't help who I fall with Kemi'
'Why? You've been avoiding Denise a lot. He kept asking after you in CDS. You know, he loves you. He is tall, handsome and I heard he came from a wealthy home. I think this is the time to give him a chance'
'You know, he rang me this morning and I told him I wasn't at home', Maureen confided
'Worry not, I will ring him. I'm sure he would come running. You know the saying that if a corper marries a corper, NYSC would give them a cheque of five hundred thousand naira', kemi said laughing.
'I don't believe that crab'

Maureen was dressed in a short blue dress and yellow shoes. She picked her handbag and turned to Kemi who was lying on the big bed they shared.
'How do I look?'
'Ravishing', kemi replied sarcastically.
'Good, I might be late so don't wait up'
'Aren't you tired from today's work?'
Maureen blink. She was tired but she couldn't stay here. She needed to go partying. The two girls, with the help of Justin had rented a self contained flat in yaba. The bank had promised them the sum of twenty-five thousand naira monthly. The bank manager had been so nice to them that Maureen wondered if Mich knew the man. Well, it wasn't her place to ask. It was already two months that they left camp. The two had settled down to the busy life of Lagos.
The two ladies had spent the previous months jumping from one club to the other. Dancing, drinking to stupor and returning late at night. They were like children whose parents had always held prisoners and suddenly they were free.
'Maureen, you need to stop this madness'
'No'
'Maureen, last month, we drank to stupor and couldn't go to work. Mr John was really disappointed'
'Is that why you stopped coming with me to the clubs except fridays and saturdays?'
'Yes. The fact that your sister-in-law talked him into allowing us to serve at the bank doesn't mean we should abuse this opportunity'
'I don't care', maureen spite out.
'Well, I do. You seem to have your sister-in-law by your side, taking care of you and sending you money behind your brother's back. I'm so sure she would make sure you got a job on a platter of gold after service. Lucky you Maureen. I am the first child of my parents and I have three younger ones behind me. My parents can't wait for me to get a job and help with the upkeep of the house and my younger ones fees'
'Please kemi, stop talking and get dressed. I discover a new club at ikoyi. You might meet a guy there. That your boyfriend is too poor'
'No thanks. Unlike you, I have no connections, I will make sure I work hard and maybe get retained by the bank. Opportunity comes but once, I'm not missing my chance'
'You are not a happening beb'
'Maureen, you've been combing Lagos clubs for two months. Its because of him isn't it?'
'Who?'
'Jake of course'
'I can't remember telling you his name'
'You did'
'No, I did not!'
'You were dreaming last week and you called his name in your sleep'
'Shut up'
'Oh, a soft spot isn't it? Have you stopped to ask yourself what would happen if you got abused or kidnapped on one of your outings?' Kemi asked
'You are not my parent'
'Your brother may not be happy you know'
'My brother is in spain, with Mich, enjoying their selves'
'You better stop this madness quick oh. Don't play with fire and expect not to get burnt but I have to tell you, you need to sleep. When last did you get a good seven hours night rest?'
'None of your business'
'Its my business. Your brother paid for this house. He made me promised to take care of you'
'As if I am a kid'
'You are behaving like one. You discuss everything with me but not Jake. Who is he?'
'Bye already. Off I go. Like I said, don't wait up for me'
'The truth is always bitter Maureen, but it still remains the truth', kemi angrily shouted as her friend banged the door.
Maureen snubbed her. She would not admit to Kemi that she was already tired of looking for Jake. She had combed night clubs in ikoyi searching for him to no avail. She angrily clutched her bag as she walked.
'Damn you Jake. Don't you party? Or do I have to start searching for your work out gym?', she whispered to the dark night almost in tears.
She felt like giving up but couldn't bear the agony of not having Jake. I am used to having everything I want. Why can't I have you?'
Walking a short distance, she found a cab and blindly boarded it.
'Where to?', the cab driver asked
Bacchus night club'
'You mean the one at Awolowo road, Ikoyi?'
'Yep'
'Hope you can afford it. Your money is...'
Maureen cut him short. 'Do I look poor to you. I will pay you well', she snapped.
The man kept mute and drove away.

*****
Jake was surprised that the Bacchus night club filled up on a thursday. it has been long he visited the club. He sat down, alone at a bar and was drinking vodka, wondering why he couldn't sleep after a hard day at work.
All he intended to do was drink, drive home and sleep in his home. His brother was angry that he missed Miracle's birthday, his sister was not talking with him also for missing Elizabeth's birthday.
'Why I'm I even bothered? They are all in spain, enjoying themselves'
He quickly gulped down his drink and found himself looking at the door. Suddenly, he saw her, the lady he had once seen at club 57, about a month ago. He remembered her because she was one hell of a dancer, he didn't stay anyway, he had quickly slipped out.
Today, she seemed to have emaciated. She was a bit chubby but remembered how so flexible she was while she danced. Her face was oval in shape and her eyes big and heavy with make-up. She wasn't his type but he found himself wondering if she were as flexible in bed as she was while dancing. At the mere thought of her legs wrapped round his waist, Jake went instantly hard.
He watched her with his eyes as she clutched her small purse and began dancing. Soon, he saw her twisting her hips and winning her waist. How can a fat girl dance so well?, he wondered.
As she danced, a guy came to her and the two began dancing together without saying anything. Her purse seemed to be in her way but she wouldn't give it up. He looked on as this guy sprayed his palms on her backside. She laughed and danced. The guy removed his palms from her behind and was dancing to the rhythm of the music. Against his better judgment, Jake left his seat and went for a dance. On moving closer to her, he observed that she smelled of Dolce and Gabbana's the one for women. He wondered where the girl got money to purchase such a perfume. He had once bought it for his sister, Tara on her birthday.
She didn't see him because he appeared at her back and began dancing. He held her hips and she turned. For a full minute, she stopped dancing and stared at him with so much surprise he wondered if she saw a ghost. Jake simply kept dancing and watching her.
She recovered herself quickly and forgot her dancing partner, her attention was now fully on him as she began dancing with full vigor. As she danced, he saw her leaned closer that her bosom touched his blue polo shirt.
After dancing for about thirty minutes, she took his hands and led him to a seat.
'I need to visit the ladies', she said and with that, threw her purse on his thigh and walked away.
Jake wondered how foolish she had behaved. The lady didn't asked herself what she would do if he ran away with her belongings.
'This is Lagos', he had said quietly with a sigh.

******
Maureen entered the Ladies with her heart beating faster than she could have imagined. After two good months, she had met Jake. Oh thank God he didn't recognize her. She knew she must not loose him tonight. She would seduce him and free herself from her sexual hunger. A hunger she had held for over eight months.
As the years passed by, Maureen had realized that she was hungry for only one man, Jake Joseph and had stopped s.x the previous years, why? S.x no longer interest her. She wanted only one man and he was there.
Quietly, she slipped out of her tight dress and got rid of her inner wears and slipped her dress back on. Slowly, and as seductively as she could, she walked to where she left Jake. She smiled as she came closer to him but he wasn't smiling. She came to him and sat down.
'Thanks for holding my purse'
'I could have ran away with it', he told her.
'Thank you for not running', she said sheepishly.
'What is your name?'
'Maureen. You are?'
'Jake'
'Okay mr, let's dance one more time'
Jake laughed and shook his head,' you left here with a bra underneath your dress. What happened to it?'
'It was suddenly choking me I removed it'
Jake stared at her bosom. He imagined himself handling them and swore.
'Are you a student?'
'No. I work'
'Where?'
He watched her shifted uncomfortably amd knew she was lying. She was just putting up appearances. Maybe, she was even a call girl. The lady was obviously hitting on him.
'How much do you charge for an hour?'
'I begged your pardon?' She said
'Okay, I will pay you well. Hope you are good at your job?'
'Very good', she smiled
'Let's go'
'Where?'
'I'm taking you to the southern sun hotel, so no need to worry, you will be safe'
Deep down, she knew she should tell him who she was but she didn't. She followed him to the car and boarded it.
'How old are you?', he asked her as he drove.
'You should ask me if I am wearing anything underneath this dress first'
'You are kidding', he said in feign surprise.
Maureen laughed and crossed one leg over the other. Her bear thighs further set him on fire.
'Hope you will be worth my money and trouble?', he asked her
'If I'm not, don't pay me'
That statement rang a bell. A call girl won't make a statement like that. Jake dismissed his thought and drove.
At the hotel he checked them in and walked to the room. Once inside, she jumped on him and began kissing his lips.
'No, I don't kiss. Go have a bath first'
'I don't need one?'
'How many men have you slept with today?'
'None'
'Stop lying and go have a bath'
She went and for the first time in a long while, Jake Jason met a lady that was worth his money. He was intimate with her four times. She was always wiling and able. By early morning, they both fell into an exhausted sleep.

*****
Maureen opened her eyes around 6am very tired and sore, yet happy. She heard him in the shower. He stepped out and she smiled up at him.
'He opened his wallet and remove all the money inside and threw it on the bed for her.
'I'm I worth your money?'
'You are. Unfortunately, I have to be at work this morning so I won't be staying long'
'Okay, I will just bath and dress'
'Maureen, I have a proposition for you', he told her after a long pause
'What?', she asked seductively.

The Lagos NYSC Orientation camp was located in Iyana Ipaja. The camp was usually regarded as NYSC camp Iyana. Ipaja. The camp can only accommodate two thousand five hundred corp members to two thousand seven hundred corp members. Because of the size of the camp, there were just two big hostels. One of the hostels for the male corpers and the other for the females, respectfully.
Maureen walked briskly to her hostel from the evening parade, very tired. She hastily got rid of her clothes, took a bath, wore her night dress and climbed into her bed. She took a glimpsed at her phone, the time was 7: 55pm. She hated being here. Her phone rung and she hastily picked it,
'Hello?'
'Madam so you don't miss us at all?'
'Of course I miss you Mich'
'You do?'
'Sure'
'You promised to call your nephews and niece last evening'
'Sorry Mich, my phone got seized by my platoon commander. I just retrieved it'
'Why did he seized your phone?'
'It rung on parade ground'
'We've talked about this Maureen. You know better than to...'
'I know that already. Give. The phone to the kids'
'They are not here. They all went to spend the week with Tara'
'What? Won't they be a burden to her?'
'She insisted'
There was a pause. Maureen sighed and asked,
'How far with my posting? We have just three days left in this camp and I don't want any surprises'
'We are working on it Maureen', Mich said a bit quickly. She didn't know how to tell Maureen that neither Justin nor Jake wanted to help her. None of them wanted to be saddled with a 'she devil', as they both called her but Mich also happened to know that Maureen had turned over a new leaf. She was not the annoying, self centered lady Mich had met three years ago.
Its just that, Justin and Jake had refused to believe her, Tara and Linda.
'By the way Mich, I made a friend, her name is Kemi. I trust you to make sure kemi and I are posted to the same company for our primary assignment'
'I will try my best'
'Please do. I shall ring Tara and speak with my niece and nephew'
'Okay then. Goodnight Corper'
'Tell Joel to send me some money'
'Why not ring him? After all, he is your brother'
'You know he won't listen to me. You are his wife and he loves you, he listens to you'
'You are his only sibling Maureen, he loves you. By the way, you were paid your first allowance a few days ago. What did you do with it?'
'I needed a new perfume, cream, shoes , some toiletries'
'Come on, Maureen, what in the hell do you need a shoe for? I remembered you packed five pairs of my shoes, without my permission'
'Aren't we suppose to be sisters?'
'You should have told me'
'Please don't change the topic. I need some money'
'Sorry Maureen, I wish I can help but you already know I don't work. I am still in school. I don't have money to give you and you know Joel is trying to pay my father the loan he collected from him. We are cutting down on our expenses'
'Your family are millionaires. You brothers would give you any thing you asked of them. They love you that much'
'Are you suggesting I beg Justin or Jordan for money to give you?'
'Yes, my one and only Mich'
'I'm sorry. I won't begged them for money. I don't want them to think that Joel is incapable of taking care of me'
'Ask Tara'
'The hell no and good night to you'
'Bad night to you Mich'
'I kept saying you are now a changed lady but I guess I am wrong'
'I am changed. I don't hate you anymore'
Mich hung the phone on Maureen. Maureen sighed. In three days, she would be out of this camp and her journey to meeting Jake Joseph would begin.

*******
Jake Jason at that moment was in bed, with his latest conquest. She laid in his arms sleeping like a baby. He Spared a glance at the beautiful woman sleeping and knew his time with her had finally came to an end.
Ada was now a boredom to him and he needed a new distraction.

In all of Jake's life, he was yet to meet that one woman who sets his blood on fire. He had s.x with women to help him wear away his agony. if only he would meet a lady capable of satisfying his inner needs. Jake often wondered if he was different from other men. He kept only a friend, Lawrence. Lawrence had met and fallen in love with Claudia, Henry his brother, had fallen in love with Linda and were blessed with two wonderful kids. Look at Jordan, a womanizer, he too had married Tara.

'What about me?', he thought aloud.
Henry had asked him what the problem was, the last time he had visited Lagos
'Tell me Jake, do you have a lady friend at all?'
'Why do you care to know?'
'I am your brother, you are thirty-five and you are yet to introduce to me a girl. Are you all right at all?'
'I'm okay'
'You know you can confide in me. I am your brother. I will help you in whatever way I can'
'I said I am fine'
'Then why don't you. Come home? Daisy and Miracle hardly even know you. Linda thinks you don't like her'
'We both know I love your wife', Jake had retorted.
'Are you gay?'
'I'm not'
'Good, now I am relieve. Do you have a lover?', Henry had asked him.
'I won't answer you'
'Linda thinks you are still a virgin, you know'
'I'm not'
'If its about father and mother, you should know that...'
'Its not'
'Jake, I am your brother. You can talk to me any time or day you wish to. Even at midnight, linda would understand'
'Okay, big bro', he had answered.

No one knew that Jake had an intensive high level of sex drive. No woman matched his needs. He didn't believe he was an addict. He believed he was just not lucky to meet his Match. Because he didn't want his family to find out, he had stayed away from home and had slept with many women, even call girls, in his search.
He had a problem, once he slept with a lady, a month is enough to get tired of her. When such happened, the lady in question would easily be discarded and the search for another would begin. Only Lawrence knew that.
Jake left the bed, had a bath and wore his clothes. He left some money on the bed for the sleeping lady and walked out. He had a lot to do the next day.
Linda, Tara and Mich had made it clear to him that he won't be forgiven, should their spoilt brat end up in a rural area for her primary assignment. These three women had power, he knew. They were all his sisters and their husbands won't take it likely with him, should he make them sad. He walked out of the hotel, boarded his car and made a call to Linda.
'What do you want'
'To speak with my in-law'
'So now you know we are related?'
'Linda'
'I heard that the Lagos state cordinator is Lawrence's brother-in-law. All you need do is make sure Maureen is posted to a good company'
'I will help, on one condition'
'What?'
'I don't have to ever meet her and she isn't gonna work with me. I just can't stand her. She will be posted to another company within Lagos'
'Okay. Expect Mich's call tomorrow, she will send you Maureen's detail'
'Why are you all helping the brat?'
''Despite the fact that she is spoilt, she is also family and family always comes first. You don't just know that'
'Okay linda, got to go'
'Night Jake'
'Night Linda.

********
A day before they were to leave camp, Mich rung maureen and informed her that she and Kemi had been posted to serve at the Guaranty Trust Bank, Herbert Macurlay street, Lagos.
'Hope the place is good?', she asked mich.
'Tara, Linda and I pulled a lot of strings for you. And your friend. The least you can do for us is to say 'thank you'
'Okay'
'I don't care for your thanks Maureen, but please, do not forget to ring Tara and Linda'
'I will'
Maureen pressed the end button and turned to Kemi, who was busy parking her suitcases.
'Guess what?'
'We've been posted to GT bank, yaba'
'Who told you that?'
'My sister-in-law just rung'
'But our platoon officer said that the state cordinator is very strict about us going to the class-rooms'
'Tomorrow will tell us the truth. I know mich won't lie to me'
'You are lying'
'Shall we place a bet of #2000?', Maureen asked
'No, #5000'
*******
The next day, after their passing out parade, the two ladies collected their posting letters and discovered they were all posted to GT bank. Kemi was beside herself with joy.
'How did you do it Maureen?'
'I told you, I happened to know a lot of powerful people. Don't just forget my 5k'
'ah, can't you just forfeit it?'
'No'
They walked back to the hostel and came back with their suitcases.
'Maureen, we are both strangers in Lagos. How would we find our way to Yaba?'
'Worry not, Mich promised to take care of it'
'How?'
'Someone is coming to pick us up'
'You mean your boyfriend?'
'No, my brother-in-law. Today, you shall meet him and Sarah'
'Who is Sarah?'
'His wife'
At the gate, Justin was waiting for them in his jeep. He smiled when he saw her
'You've emaciated, Maureen'
'I should'
'Good morning', Kemi greeted.
'Morning. Maureen who is she?'
'My friend, mich told you about her?'
'Yes. Hop in ladies. We have a lot to do. You've got to report and get your letters of acceptance'
'I have no where to spend the night', kemi wailed.
'Don't worry, you can stay at my house while you sort yourselves out'
'Really?'
'Sure, my sister will have my head if I don't help Maureen'
Maureen laughed and boarded the car.
'Finally, Jake, I waited three years for this opportunity. Let the game begin', she said to herself.
'What did you say?', kemi asked
'Nothing', she retorted.
'Ah, justin, I heard Jake lives here. Where is his abode?'
Justin gripped the steering, Jake had confided in him that he hated Maureen and didn't want to even meet her. He called her 'the brat'
'Somewhere around Ikoyi'
'Okay'
First thing first, she needed to go shopping. Jake must never know she is Joel's sister. He wouldn't dare have a relationship with her for fear of Tara, Linda and Mich. Not to talk of Joel.
the best laid plan takes time and great risks, it takes sacrifices and she was willing to take her chances.
