Happy new year nairalanders. I pray this new year takes us closer to our goals.

My name is Adekola Taiwo. I am a professional and experienced fashion and wedding photographer based in Ibadan, Nigeria. I am also a seasoned photography instructor and I have worked at photography academies and skill acquisition programmes over the years.

I have noticed that a lot of people (especially youths) have decided to get more serious about their lives this year. Many people want to skill up. Not all of us can get corporate jobs. It is now apparent that skills are paying and that is the essence of this thread. See ehn, even if you are going to "japa", you might as well go with skills. I want to be more serious about my life this year, I don't know about you o. I don't want to be a lazy youth.

I want entrepreneurs and skilled folks on the timeline to kindly introduce themselves, tell us the skill(s) you are specialized in, your location and contact information. Anyone interested in the skill can then contact you and make inquiries.

As for me, I am giving a discount to anyone who wants to learn the art of digital photography via this post and I strongly urge fellow creatives to do the same as these are trying times economically.

I means you work as corporate driver for private persons or organizations. You dress corporate and all. (Behind stuffs). Also, you don't work 24/7 like the normal drivers and you don't do all those menial jobs the normal drivers do. There is going to be an agreement on whether its city driving or inter state as the case may be.

I'll always prefer a stress-free work anytime since it gives me time to do other things. I love my time the most. If it were I, I'd ignore the Lagos job but would plan smarter ways to diverse my income. ₦300k monthly sounds big only when you earn less than it. As a freelance research writer, I am very sure I'd earn the six months salary in a month so why should I choose a job that will hinder that?

That's my opinion tho.

I shouldn't be a wet blanket either. Doesn't she mind the big stress of relocation, accommodation, and adaptation? Can she handle the high cost of living in Lagos? Traffic congestion? And has she considered the job security?

I wouldn't call myself a very fast driver, but, I hold my own. In 2018/19, when I was still doing contract driving jobs, I drove a woman and her kids from Ibadan to osogbo. On the way, I saw a BMW 5 series in front of me, having faith in the v6 evil spirit, I increased my speed and overtook it. (I later found out a woman was behind the wheels). The thing sweet me.

Suddenly, it started looking like the BMW was gaining. She finally leveled up, but, before she sped off, she looked at me with one yeye smile like this and off she went! . She went away so fast I doubted my speedometer. You know when you are on 110/115 and a car overtakes you like you are on 60kmh! I was so angry! I wanted to chase, but, I was reminded that, "na inside Honda we dey o and that's a 5 series BMW in the hands of a wicked woman". . I just took my L in peace.

I respected BMW more that day and I certainly feared women more!

I believe you are looking at the wrong cars. If you want prestige, you are looking at the wrong cars o. Kindly pitch your tent with Lexus or Mercedes Benz. Also, ease of maintenance is not part of the benchmark of some luxury cars.
