We have good midfielders in the Under-21s but no quality wingers, strikers, or defenders. That is why you can have close to 60% possession in a game and still lose 6-1.

There's a reason why the Academy hasn't produced quality defenders for the first team in years.

The scouts focus on foward players. It's just recently that the focus weirdly shifted to midfielders, that's why we have a lot of quality midfielders in the team at the same time
