It's not everything you bring on nairaland. These are minor issues you should be able to rectify. Also try to write without using bold letters

why are such a dimwit. Why are you trying to discourage the good people of this thread from helping genuine help seekers.
Please stop!
He is not real. Just looking for means to extort money from people. He doesn't even know what SAT is used for. His account was created today and he said he has seen people receive help on this thread. Quite suspicious

Hello!

the balance in the statement of account should at least cover one year tuition fee and there should be some amount left if you deduct the tuition fee. for example if your tuition fee is 10m for a year the account should have balance of 18m. This is just my own idea on your questions.

Cheers
Though 18m is a bit high. Once there is steady inflow of income, 13m+ should be enough for 10m per year fees. It's not like the living expenses will be sent to the student once.

Hello guys.

Please, I am trying to make payment on the UEMS website for the shipping of my I-20, but got stuck on the payment. It reads that the "credit/debit card" option isn't available for my country leaving me with two other options: "Pay by Cash (wire transfer)" and "PayPal."

"Pay by cash" requires someone in the US making a cash deposit on my behalf into an American Bank. However, I have no much knowledge about the PayPal mode of payment. Please enlighten me on this, perhaps it an easier mode of payment. TIA.
Use paypal option, it's simple. Create a paypal account, link your naira debit card to it and use the paypal account to pay for the fees.

We finally heading there....
Thanks you guys for your support, I finally got my i-20 today from Purdue University with Reasearch Assistantship (with Stipends, tuition waiver and health benefits) which is like $3,500 more than school's Estimated total expenses...

Pls do I still need to take along with me any Bank statement......kindly help with necessary tips and who also can help pay my SEVIS too
No, you don't need any statement of account. Prepare well and go collect your visa.

As for sevis fee, you can go to ecobank at seme border, or find someone in USA to help you pay it (you can search for walspring on nairaland, he normally helps people to pay it).

Dude many people may bash you for this but go with your heart. I studied Engineering for 5 years in Naija and didn't know Jack. I applied to a community college here and got my Visa and right now I am studying computer science. At first I was forming boss because I thought I knew Maths after all I studied Electrical Engineering but I was humbled by small Calculus 1

Now I am humbled, learning and understanding concepts which you wouldn't necessarily get in Nigerian schools. If after your Bsc you don't have a basic knowledge of Python, Java, C++, you don't know Object Oriented Programming, you can't implement Basic Data Structures like Arrays, Linked List, Binary Search Trees, Heap e.t.c you can't implement Basic sort algorithms, you can't perform perform computational complexity of algorithms, you don't know Dynamic Programming then please go to a community college, I have learnt all of this in community college. Don't mind this uninformed people who think life is all about getting masters without the skills needed to show for it.
If you are well informed, you should know you can learn all this while doing masters. You decided to go back to a community college is your own decision and business. Many people have background in biology and did masters in computer related field and got all the knowledge they wanted plus a higher degree. That's why it's good to ask questions so that you don't waste your time by following the wrong path. In your masters, you can take prerequisite courses that you lacked knowledge of. Also there many advantages of having a masters degree than a community college degree. The ball is in your court, play as you like.

Guys, quick one. Who has used 2 sponsors here? Is it a red flag? the i20 estimate is 50k usd and I plan on using my sis (33K) and cuz who is a us citizen with us bank statement (47K).

My plan is to say sis is sponsor and cuz is co sponsor. although cuz earns and has more than sis. Is that ok

How do i say this is in the interview?

I plan on doing interview end of next month.

Please any success stories in situations like this. when one sponsor doesn't have all the money in one account??

Multiple opinions needed please. Guysssssss
Give it a try. Once you can convince the V.O of your genuineness as a student, the two statement of account is sufficient to get your visa approved.

Hello! I have a BSC (Computer Science) here in Nigeria, but due to poor facilities in our universities and poor practical approach, I am not satisfied with the knowledge I gained during my undergraduate studies. Therefore, I want to start afresh by going through a community college in the United States because I want to be expert in my field. My question is, I want to study Cyber Security in a US college and I already have a BSC (Computer Science) which is obviously related to the course I am going for. I have a strong feeling that this will raise questions at the embassy! So please, how do I convince the consular. And again will it be advisable for me to just ignore my undergraduate degree during my application? again my age will be another factor that has to be considered if my degree is ignored. Please I need a concrete advise.
You are not saying the truth. Simply say you want to escape grin.

If you are not satisfied with the knowledge you gained, why not do masters and become a master in your field? Why community college after bsc?

I didn’t go for the interview. My first interview with them was yesterday at the consular office here in Canada.
Your post isn't clear enough. Can you post transcript of your interview and the type of visa you applied? All the questions the v.o asked you and the reply you gave

There is no new school involved in this. I’m presently on a student visa in Canada, studying as well. Went with my confirmation of enrollment, transcript from my school here in Canada. The usa visa consular asked me if i had previously applied to schools in the usa which i said yes. She further asked who did the application for me which i said an agent and specifically asked if i paid the agent which i said yes. She asked the name of the school i told her. She paused for a minute or thereabout and said unfortunately we can not issue you a visa right now because you don’t meet the requirements based on section 214(b).
Did you go for an interview at US embassy in Nigeria after the agent got the admission for you? I mean before getting your Canadian student visa

Please I need help!

Any idea if the interviewer can find out the number of schools I applied to?

Preparing for a return leg at the embassy after 1 failed attempt!
To answer your question, they don't have access to the number of schools you applied to except the one that issued i20 to you and you paid sevis fee. But if you lie, they can ask you to provide admission letter of all admitted schools. So best thing is to always say the truth

Hello everyone, does anyone have any good idea to handle a situation like this? The person in question had bachelor's and masters in the UK and returned to Nigeria. Then on trying to return to the UK after NYSC for a Ph.D, he got a denial. The denial was under section 320(7A); which is on the ground of false bank documentation. He was advised that if he applies again,he could be refused and issued a 10-year ban. Now, this time around, he has been admitted to a US school for another PhD, and has made effort to get the right bank documentation. How would the UK refusal affect the new F1 application? Would it affect this at all? Or would the VO consider this a fresh case?

cc Abujaniv, justwise
The US embassy and UK embassy are two different embassy. He should be sincere when asked why he was denied by UK embassy if the question comes up. I have seen people banned from the UK that got Visa to US

I have a first degree but a 3rd class. I also did PGD.
With your B.Sc and PGD, you can mail some schools to see if they can take you for masters. That your age won't be easy to convince a V.O for B.Sc. Have you gone for an interview before for B.Sc at US consulate?

What do you see for a 32 year old applying for undergraduate program. Will he get visa if he gets admission? Is the age not a barrier?
For U.S, it's a huge redflag though some have gotten their visa with such age for B.Sc. It all depends on the answers he gave for the wide gap in age. The person will definitely be asked what he has been doing since he finished high school

A friend 28 went for visa interview, consular was impressed by all his answers and all. But he was asked, has he married? No. He was rejected.
That's not the reason he was denied. The number of unmarried people who have gotten visa is more than the married ones. He should post his transcript.

I meant you assumed the reason for the denial was because it was too expensive, when i have stated for the umpteenth time that there was nothing to show that was the reason for the rejection. He wasn't even asked about his financial statements. I believe his response to the question and his lack of confidence was what caused the reject. Anyway we can end here.
What's wrong if i assume? No one here knows why he was denied or what the V.O was thinking. By the way, i wasn't assuming but pointing out where i saw weakness in his reply. We are just giving advice so he can get his visa.
