Car Talk › Re: How Do I Re-insert My Car Battery After Charging It? by timifakay(m): 10:41pm On Sep 13, 2017 |
DeePsychologist: Hello.. this might seem like a stupid question to the car veterans but please indulge me. I just had my first battery problems where I had to jump start using cables to get my car to start... got home and tried to start the car again after a few hours but it refused to come on due to same low battery. I took it to a battery charger who has completed his job but to re-insert it into the car is my question here... is there a particular side that goes in first say +ve or -ve so it doesn't cause an electrical issue cos a friend of mine tried jumping another friends car recently and connected the cable wrongly i.e -ve to +ve which cost him a lot in repairs... I would like to avoid that so please help out... which goes in first when inserting a battery... -ve or +ve or doesn't matter? I appreciate your responses In advance. Ciao Insert and ensure it's properly aligned in the bay. Connect positive terminal first. |

kbright911: I bought my Lexus GX 470 2007 model late October last year and everything was good, but of recent I've noticed that the AC has stopped cooling and blows hot/warm air inclusive the rear AC vents. But the passenger's AC vents still cools.. Please what could be wrong with my SUV's AC system. Professional advise needed please. If dual regulator is fine then that means refrigerant gas is low, have it vacuumed and refilled, also add Uv dye to the system so that point of leakage can be traced. |

Timifakay, how are u coping in there? www.nairaland.com/attachments/5954734_img20170912223543_jpegde7f475003696a7843ad9d1193dd8c2eIf you can't beat them you join them! I think lots of those drivers forget they are not riding bikes again due to the quick response and small size of the car, hence they drive like it can fit into crevice. Driving that car is fun sha. |

Scammers please don't waste your time coming any closer. What year of manufacture? I doubt you will get any 1997 camry from first user in excellent condition for that price. |

I just love Honda products cos of speed n balance.
No other options for now cos of the amount of money I budgeted for a car cos the the car am changing for this Honda was Toyota corolla 2005 You mean to say you are leaving a 2005 car for a 2001 car? Under normal circumstances I wouldn't do that. |

Jagermeister: Greetings Lads, (and) Lasses who hang with the Lads here.
I remember when I was made to drive into and through a flood within Festac extension (before the roads were tarred). I don't know how to calculate distance but my Lexus V6 was submerged in water for well over 30mins. I couldn't go any faster either, who struts the gas pedal when inside water, not to mention the invisible portholes and mini-ditches by virtue of the damaged roads and heavy rains. I could see water leveled atop my windshield (no exaggeration).. With all the torment to the car that day, car drove flawlessly for another 3 years before it was sold. Try that with the Toyota Camry 2.4L (which I currently own) or a Honda Accord of the same engine displacement.
And all. www.nairaland.com/attachments/5604453_img20170706074259_jpeg600f905f231ab813c8438b8263ffb454 |

Yes we cleared the codes and rescanned.
Yes the car started smoking before behaving erratically.
No I haven't noticed any drop in engine oil level.
Many Thanks bro You should do a live data stream, check MAF values, fuel trims and O2 sensor values... when you want to do the fuel pressure test. |

Bros, how come the fuel tank cap is missing? Who thought you the unplug fuel pump trick? What happened before you started fiddling with the fuel pump? Your vehicle problem may be two fold. 1. Fuel pump issues. 2. Engine wear. 1. The Socket in your pic is attached to the fuel pump. www.nairaland.com/attachments/5934669_screenshot20170908143348_jpeg1cbe761cf3076ed8ba364bc9cc4de288Did you clear codes and rescan after running car for about 10minutes? You will need to do a fuel pressure test to know the condition of your fuel pump. Loss of power after braking and inability to start till its cold could be a signs of a failing fuel pump. 2. Did you notice the car smoking before the car started working erratically? Have you ever noticed significant drop in engine oil level between service intervals? Solve the car erratic operation first and we see if smoking continues... |

Car Talk › Re: Honda Civic 2010 by timifakay(m): 12:13am On Sep 05, 2017 |
jooyce: Yea, most important. The chassis number. How do one check to know? Chassis is the frame on which the car is built. Chassis number / VIN is 17 alphanumeric characters unique to every car used to check up vehicle records... You can find it on the driver's side frame when door is open. Google search to have an idea what's up with the car or send to someone who can run a full report(for a token). Tell mechanic to inspect chassis from underneath, to check for sign of previous impact or damage. |
