tonnieblaise: first 2 comment...heheWhen will you be delivered from this problem? |
No one sabotages a relationship with potential on purpose, but sometimes we unwittingly ruin something that may have brought us great happiness even before it’s had a chance to get started. To help you pinpoint if you have a problem, I’ve listed five acts of relationship sabotage – have you been guilty of any of these? 1. You’ve rejected a man because he doesn’t fit your ideal Most women have, at some point, dreamt about their ideal man. He’s probably rich, incredibly handsome, charming and intelligent. Maybe he looks a lot like Van Vicker. It’s a fun exercise, but reality and fantasy are very different things. If your ideal man is more Prince Charming than John-Next-Door, then it might be time to rethink your priorities. 2. You’ve gone for the attractive man over the guy with personality Dating a man who’s drop dead gorgeous can be a nice little ego boost. But if he’s all looks and no personality, the novelty will soon wear off. A man who treats you well and can make you laugh is always going to have more sticking power than one who looks good but can’t string a sentence together. 3. You argue with your partners about nothing They say that arguing about the big things is normal, and squabbling about the smaller things can be dealtwith. But if you argue with your partners about nothing, then you need to take an honest look at yourself. This behaviour erodes a relationship and often it’s caused by something that happened in a previous relationship – a form of transference. If this sounds like you, try to work back to what it is you could be projecting onto your new relationships. If you can let that go, you’ll be able to move on. 4. You tease him mercilessly about how he shows his feelings If you tease your boyfriend like a school girl about how he shows his feelings towards you, he’s going to feel degraded and emasculated. Not every man was born the world’s greatest lover, and by telling him he doesn’t do things the way you’d expect, you’re not going to help. Instead, show him how you want him to act towards you, and he should follow – have a little patienceand before you know it you’ll have a seasoned pro instead. 5. You’ve jumped ship to avoid confronting your emotions Relationships are by no means always plain sailing – they require hard work and honesty between partners. If you find yourself ending relationships rather than tackling issues, ask yourself if that was really what you wanted to do. Or if, by putting in the effort, you could have helped grow your relationship into something even better. Honesty doesn’t need to be brutal – it can be loving and honest. And if he cares about you too, he’ll also want to make it work. |

parki: Have there not been total black-out in Nigeria prior to this rubbish? when have we ever had light? This news is totally irrelevant. It is not news to you, but to some, it is a news. I read it to the end. |
I sat on a chair at the front of my house gisting with my friend around few minutes to 12 noon. Suddenly, I saw the WAEC candidates trooping out from a secondary school closer to my house. I stood up to approach of them to see the physics question booklet. He gave it to me and I told him that I just want to go through the questions, but he asked me to go with it. I thanked him and went back to my seat. I opened the booklet and started reading through the questions. Suddenly, my friend told me to look at what the student wrote at the back of the question booklet. I told him that I saw it. He told me to read it, when I read what the student wrote there; I bursted into laughter. Read through the poem that he wrote: My heart is empty without you, like a bird without a sony. My eyes are blind without your eyes to see, like a rose without color. I began to wonder how the boy will pass his papers with this type of self distraction on his first paper day. |

sunny t: People dnt prepare for marriage and that’s y it hardly lasts this days. All they do is plan for the wedding for 2 yrs thinking that’s all there is to marriage. As for me, i wil spend ample time to plan for my marriage in order to have a happy home. |
pato2775: Ok,observation noted....am I 1stYou this boy, you never overcome this your pathetic problem. |
Definition: Marriage is the social contract and institution under which a couple live together (usually monogamously) for the rest of their lives. A wedding is the act, ceremony or event of getting married. Today, people devote much time to plan for the wedding and neglect the marriage that will last long. But I think the marriage should be well planned for since it is a long term institution or what do you think? Wise opinions are needed. |

paris10: I am a Christian (not religious) and I love kissing. Depending on your definition of sin, i think Nigerian Christians are gullible and are overly spiritual. When does kissing become a sin and where in the Bible was it clearly stated? Kissing is an emotional display of affection, and it doesn't necessarily have to lead to sex.Don't u knw dat dis type of kissing usually takes place in the closet and nt in the public? U shud knw dat wen doing it d both don't just limit it to kissing since it is in d closet. Pecking can b done in d public and people will nt frown at it. U said it cannot lead to sex, but it wil make d both of u wet dat u wil lose control and go into d act. |
BetaThings: Actually you are wrong. It is not muslims that derail Christian threads. It is the other way roundYou have spoken well. |
siddiq202: Op, I'm not in a good position to answer your question because I'm not a Christian but I think it should be wrong.wat are u waitin for? Go and open ur own forum too and begin to do wat u lyk, jealousy and envious person. Dis is hw they bgin crisis and kill innocent lives in d name of fighting for 1 useless and weak god dat cannot lift his weaken finger to defend himself. |
koonbey: ive never said this before, but;what is this doing on the Front page? ok;i do not think kissing is a Sin,i think it depends on how much self control the couples have,if you know swapping saliva will cause you to go farther than you want to,dont even try. but if you can handle it,by all means do...jux know your limits, you know they say;when a handshake extends beyond the elbow... in this case, when a kiss extends beyond the facial area...TorhHave u 4goten dat during kissing d hand also reciprocate, or u just fold ur hands lyk shigidi and do d kissing. I don't need this ur comment. |
lecturerdabo: Thanks.U are welcome. |
lecturerdabo: Now the bible did not say much about the sinfulness or not of kissing and I would not want to categorically say it's a sin but since the bible said something about a holy kiss, that on its own suggest that there must be an unholy kiss.I like your answer and the biblical verses u quoted. Do you know it took me over 3 hours to convinced a lady on this issue? She argued and gave reasons for hugging and kissing during courtship. My stand is NO. What I need is biblical verses to support my points. |
rezzy: Im not a matured christian, im still growing. I think kissing is a sin because it can lead to bed stuff but hugging is not. My fiance and i have hugged like 5 times. I will ask him when we see on his on view on kissing. Thanks for this. Even though u didnt back up ur ansa |
I strongly believe that premarital sex is sinful and I know that other bible believers know this. It is clear that many xtian believers abstain from sex during courtship, but some cannot do away with hugging and kissing. Many believe that it is not sinful while others believe that it is sinful. Look, am not talking of pecking here. But the real bedroom kissing and hugging that can lead to the next scene. I want mature christians to shed more light on this. If it is sinful, give biblical support to convince me and if it is not, give your reasons and support it with bible verses. Thanks. |

Salmon the father of Boaz, whose mother was Rahab, Boaz the father of Obed, whose mother was Ruth, Obed the father of Jesse." -- Matthew 1:5 (NIV) The genealogy of Jesus Christ, the Son of David, is recorded in Matthew 1:1-17 and Luke 3:23-38. In Matthew 1:4-5 and Luke 3:32 we find the name, "Salmon." From both gospel accounts we learn that Salmon was the father of Boaz. This fact is also confirmed in Ruth 4:21 where we read, "Salmon the father of Boaz, Boaz the father of Obed." And in 1 Chronicles 2:11-12 where we read, "Nahshon was the father of Salmon, Salmon the father of Boaz, Boaz the father of Obed and Obed the father of Jesse." So we have established that Jesus had an ancestor named, "Salmon," somewhere in His family tree. However, it is only in Matthew where we learn of Salmon's wife. In Matthew 1:5 we read, "Salmon the father of Boaz, whose mother was Rahab, Boaz the father of Obed, whose mother was Ruth, Obed the father of Jesse." Hidden between the lines in Matthew 1:5 we find the puzzle piece, which gives us the clue that Rahab was married to Salmon. Yes, this is the same Rahab who hid the spies in her home in Jericho. To learn more about Rahab, read "The Scarlet Rope" devotional article. Rahab is mentioned seven times by name in the Bible and five of these she is referred to as, "Rahab the prostitute or harlot." The Bible does not specifically state when Rahab turned from her former occupation and sinful lifestyle to follow God; however, we do know from the text in Matthew that she married Salmon and had a son named, "Boaz." I believe Rahab's confession of faith can be found in Joshua 2:9-11 where we read, "I know that the LORD has given this land to you and that a great fear of you has fallen on us, so that all who live in this country are melting in fear because of you. We have heard how the LORD dried up the water of the Red Sea for you when you came out of Egypt, and what you did to Sihon and Og, the two kings of the Amorites east of the Jordan, whom you completely destroyed. When we heard of it, our hearts melted and everyone's courage failed because of you, for the LORD your God is God in heaven above and on the earth below." Rahab made a public confession regarding the true God of Israel and I believe this was a turning point in her life. She had to turn her back on the king of Jericho, her gods, and the people of Jericho. She took a major chance with her life by hiding the two spies. Yes, she was willing to risk her very life to follow the spies and the children of Israel. In Joshua 6:25 we read, "But Joshua spared Rahab the prostitute, with her family and all who belonged to her, because she hid the men Joshua had sent as spies to Jericho." Rahab and the lives of her family were spared because of her obedience to God and by her faith. In Hebrews 11:31 we read, "By faith the prostitute Rahab, because she welcomed the spies, was not killed with those who were disobedient." God spared the life of Rahab, a woman who had been a prostitute in Jericho. He took a Gentile woman and her sinful life and gave her a Godly husband and a son whom they named, "Boaz." Boaz is identified as being the kinsman-redeemer in the book of Ruth. Boaz married Ruth and they too had a son, "Obed." Obed was King David's grandfather. Read devotional articles "Naomi's Sojourn," "Mahlon's Widow," and "Boaz--A Kinsman Redeemer" to learn more about Ruth and Boaz. Did you notice that Matthew mentions two Gentile women in Christ's genealogy? These being Ruth, the Moabitess, and Rahab, the harlot. God's grace is so beautiful. He spared the life of Rahab, a former harlot or prostitute, and included her in the ancestral lineage of Jesus Christ. His grace is truly amazing and He has a plan for each one of our lives. May we find comfort in the words of Ephesians 2:8-9, "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God--not by works, so that no one can boast." Amen.

I don't know why some people on this forum always give themselves to the devil to be used. They believe in doctors who God created and shared part of His knowledge with them, but they didn't believe in this God. |
I wanted to vote for GEJ, but the ballot papers got finished before I got to the polling unit. As for 2015, let the will of God be done. |
