Ladies, this post is not meant to make you feel badly for all the things your husband isn’t doing. It’s not meant to make you mad at him for not thinking to ask your doctor what he could do for you. I hope you will share this post with him in an effort to communicate what you might need from him during this time. Dads-to-be. . .if you’ve not yet taken an active role in serving and caring for your pregnant wife , I hope this post will give you some ideas and encourage you to do so. There is no way you could understand how taxing it is to grow a life inside your body. It’s wonderful yet exhausting. It’s effortless yet challenging. It’s beautiful yet ugly. Those dichotomies alone are enough to make you mad! With all of these suggestions, the important thing is to offer to do it before she has to ask. That is what makes a woman feel the most cared for . I don’t know many men who will refuse when asked to do something but it means so much more when they don’t have to ask and when you serve them with joy. 10 Ways Husbands Can LOVE On Their Pregnant Wives 1. Bring her a snack or drink. Learn her pregnancy eating habits and offer it before she has to ask. 2. Rub her back or feet or legs. Heck, rub anything that makes her feel better! Her body is likely aching a lot! 3. Offer to cook a few meals. This may not be your strength daddy but you can try. Or pick up take out on the way home from work. 4. Send her to take a bath. She may not even want to make the effort but once she is soaking in that warm, bubbly tub, she will feel so much better! 5. Help out more with household chores. . .especially those that require bending over (in the 3rd trimester). 6. Be sensitive about sex and intimacy. Talk openly about it. Let her know your needs but understand her feelings as well. 7. Tell her she’s beautiful. Every. Single. Day. 8. Engage in baby prep and planning. She will be nesting. Big time. Don’t fight it. Surrender to her baby bliss and get involved! 9. If you already have children, help her with bath and bedtime routines (more so than you normally would) as this is when she is likely exhausted. 10. Be a good sport and joyfully take pregnancy photos with your beautiful, pregnant wife . You will cherish them in years to come. |

debrief08: I like the last part. Most times its how the parents handle each other in events leading to divorce that causes these factors you mentioned, parents who display anger and violence in the presence of the kids leading to children taking sides, getting involved and even fantasysing on helping one parent fight back. That's true. Good contribution. |
How does divorce affect children before and after it happens? Well, marriages that end in divorce can leave behind traumatized and depressed children , who are left enduring the unhappiness of a failed marriage, between two'most loved'people. Here is a look into the effects of divorce on children , which can help parents understand and deal with the aftermath better. Effects of Divorce on Children 1. Stress and Behavioral Problems at Home : Children are usually sensitive and are therefore more susceptible to emotional damage, than the adults are. Since the parents are likely be stressed out by the divorce and no longer showing the child the same affection and tolerance that they had once displayed, children express these difficulties in many ways. With the disruptions to the family routine, combined with a sense of powerlessness. 2. Demonstrating anger, directed both toward others and themselves Failure to acknowledge responsibility. A sense of guilt. Frequent breaking of rules. Drug and alcohol abuse. Destructive behavior and problems with defiance Isolation or withdrawal from friends and family. Thoughts of suicide or violence. Increased or early sexual activity 3. A younger child may take to bedwetting and suffer from sleep disruption. They may miss the non custodian parent constantly and be unable to understand the permanency of the situation. Thus you may constantly have a 6 year old asking you'when is mom/dad coming back?'. The adolescents may display violent behavior, coupled with sharp bouts of depression. Sometimes an older child may have to take responsibility for a younger sibling and this can result in feelings of resentment for their siblings. 4. Problems Faced at School : Divorce can result in not only distancing the child from the parents, but also from friends and peers at school. Most of the time, the school grades suffer due to the inability of the child in concentrating on his studies at home . Parents are usually too busy to help with the homework. Studies have shown that children from a broken home , are more likely to drop out before graduating high school and are also less likely to attend college. In addition they may have problems dealing with peers and may take to breaking the rules at school. 5. It has been observed that young adults whose parents get separated while they were young, suffered from low self confidence and face relationship issues themselves. However things are not doomed for the children whose parents have divorced. If you understand as to how does divorce affects children , you can handle the situation just right and help the children cope with the situation. Reassuring the children of your love and explaining the situation, goes a long way in helping the child understand, that divorce is due to difficulties between parents, and children have nothing to contribute to that and that it's not their fault. It is important to understand that the child will miss the parents, so avoid saying negative things about one another, as it may hurt the child. In addition, there are divorce counseling services designed specifically for children , that you may like to consider. Remember that it is critical for the well-being of the children , that both the parents to continue to play important roles in their lives and therefore the parents should work together as much as possible, to limit the amount of damage that divorce can have on them. |

Most single guys are reluctant to settle down due to alot of reasons. some of which Ishall break down.. 1. Freedom: Most guys feel that once they get married, they wont have the freedom to mingle with other girls. since their wives will always be monitoring them or be with them most of the time. and any attempt theymake to flirt or have a harmless chat with a girl will always be frown at or misinterpreted by their spouse. 2. Makes Life Boring: To some, life could become boring once they get married. since they are bound to change their lifestyle because of their wife or new status. whether they like it or not, their lifestyle would change. it could be due to economic reasons (since he's now a family man) or his wife is notthe going out type. the man would be turned into an indoor man outrightly. cos any move he makes to go out alone on weekends, could be seen by his wife as an opportunity to cheat on her. and as a result his social life becomes zero. 3. More Responsibilities: As a single man, he can afford to live on his small salary or manage his finances well. but with the coming of a wife and the kids later, this is bound to make him think twice before venturing into marriage. he knows his pay check is nothing to write home about, he's not from a rich family that could support him, or has any other business venture to use in sustaining his family, he might be discourage fromgetting married until he's comfortable enough. 4. Fear: Some guys are simply afraid to take the plunge. they feel they are not ready yet or equipped to be a married man/father.they're not ready to have kids or have some kind of responsibilities thrown atthem by a woman/kids. they dont wantto change or have someone come into their lifeand makethem adjust their life for her sake.they want to hang out with friends at the bar, watch soccer matches with their pals, leave their clothesanywhere they like, come home anytime they like, date as many girls as they want. they want to be flexible. they feel marriage makes a man rigid and less exciting. though some may claim marriage makes a manresponsible. but there're guys who feel marriage takes the excitement out of life. being single to them is more exciting than being married. and as a result, theyprefer to linger in it for as long as they want. 5. Greed : surprisingly we also have guys whoare reluctant to settle down as a result of greed. they feel the woman is only coming to eattheir money and food. they see women generally as a burden. and are not ready to take such burden. this category of guys are those ones that are stingy to their girlfriends. they hid their money from their girlfriends or pretend as if they dont have. they only give a girl money whenever they want to sleep with her. these onespatronize LovePeddlers alot. they enjoy being single and living alone. They simply dont want to share their comfort/money with any woman. These are some of the reasons I know of. But if you know of any other one, feel free to add it to the ones I'vementioned. |

If you allow God to choose your spouse for you, you will not have a troublesome spouse that will make you to think of divorce. But, if you go in the way of the world to choose your suitor, you may make a mistake that will later make you to see divorce as the best option. ADVICE 1. If your spouse is giving you headache, pray unto God for intervention. Let him lead and guide you. He can restore your spouse. Don't go by the idea of the world, but go by what He has put in the bible and by the Holy Spirit. 2. If you are still single i.e. not married, pray and seek the guidiance of God for whom to marry. Don't choose by sight i.e. beauty, handsomeness, money, age, qualification, etc. If you allow God to choose for you, you will never regret marrying whom ever He gives to you. 3. If your marriage as hit the rock, you can still make it to work again. What you need to do is to pray unto God to amend the broken home and meet the right people for counseling. |

#1 - A husband should not be harsh to his wife (I Peter 3:7)...and if she says you are harsh…then you are! Don't shout at her, she is not your slave, but your wife. #2 - A husband should not show up at home after coming home from work, sit in a chair, watch the same episode of Sports Center three times in a row and “zone out” in regards to his wife and children and then expect to be respected as “the spiritual leader” by his family. #3 - A husband should not raise his hand to beat his wife for any reason. Remember, a responsible husband settle querrels amicably between him and his wife. #4 - A husband should not devote more time to a hobby (golf, football, tv game, internet browsing etc.) than he does to his own wife and then expect her to always be “in the mood” when he has held a football club way more than he has held her! #5 - A husband should not desire to be right more than he actually desires to settle the conflict that is being dealt with…the result if he does will always be fighting IN instead of fighting FOR the marriage. #6 - A husband should not “innocently flirt” with other women either in person or online and not expect it to bring about significant damage in regards to his marriage (Proverbs 6:27!) #7 - A husband should not pursue porn and pursue his wife…she will always lose because porn is easy, it requires no commitment! #8 - A husband should not allow his pride to get in the way by refusing to ask for help when it comes to issues in the marriage (James 5:16)! #9. A husband should not be stingy to his wife. He should share money and other things with her. Remember that she is your Pearl. #10. A husband should not embarrass his wife in the public, not even before the kids Any misunderstanding should be settled in the bed room BONUS: A wife should use any of the points to beat her husband up!!! |
