Wike is now an empty drum. He is finished. Just waiting to be disgraced nationally and internationally. When did you become a Glory custodian to know whose glory is gone or not. You speak fallacies and cohabitate with assumptions, you are free to do that anyways, as long as it makes you feel good. |

Politics › Re: 2023: Obi Should Let Go, Build LP For 2027 by Timiolutomi: 6:22pm On Mar 01, 2023 |
Nazgul: Every Nigerian has the right to contest for presidency. Besides Peter Obi wasn't the only presidential candidate, why is he the only candidate being constantly attacked?
Kwankwaso was on the ballot, why didn't you say Kwankwaso's time wasn't ripe. Sowore was on the ballot. El Mustapha was there even the son of the late MKO was on the ballot. Why focus on Peter Obi when he was just exercising his rights as a Nigerian like other candidates?
The former governor of Niger state Babangida Aliyu was asked by Seun of channels TV that if Peter Obi had stayed in PDP would Atiku had picked him as his running mate, Babangida responded with a resounding NO.
The reality here is that, Atiku and PDP underrated Peter Obi, they choosed a running mate from the SS because the SS had more registered voters than the SE, the SS has more states than the SE and the SS literally controls the economy of Nigeria.
Even when Peter Obi left, no single PDP chieftain was sent to plead with him to come back, everyone including SE governors felt he had no electoral value, so they made fun of him rather than trying to bring him back.
So if you were in Peter Obi's shoes what would you do, wouldn't you have forged your own path?
Tinubu cannot dictate to the North who and who would not be on the ballot come 2027. He can buy off Southern candidates, those ones are money lovers but you see people like Kwankwaso, Tambuwal, El Mustapha...they would contest and Tinubu would have no choice than to meet them on the voting ground.
Talking about strategy, yes I'll give it to Tinubu. He's the best strategist in Nigeria. In the game of football, you can bribe the referee to officiate in your favour and win a game. No matter how the opponent cries foul play, it would be on record that you won that game.
And yes everyone rigs... Peter Obi just has to come out and campaign for his governorship candidates, cos the more states LP wins, the easier it would be for him to win 2027 election. You have a very profound point, 2027 is for OBI. Lets see how it plays out then, no need to argue about it. By the grace of God, we will both be alive by then. After all, Tinubu is not God, and Obi is neither a saviour, they are both human being. And there is no place I ever mentioned that Obi doesn’t have right to contest as the President of Nigeria, every Nigerian does, including you and myself. Look, I love OBI, even though I hate the fact that he left PDP, and that is because I believe he is well positioned in a Party with vast structure and popularity. But he has proved to be more valuable than what many people perceived, he is charismatic, appear to be a Saint and shows big signs of humility. That's exactly what majority of the Youth wanted. As far as I'm concerned, APC lost this election, as a whooping 15million people voted against them. Even though, the 9millions who vote APC are also Nigerians. |
Politics › Re: 2023: Obi Should Let Go, Build LP For 2027 by Timiolutomi: 3:30pm On Mar 01, 2023 |
Nazgul: @ bolded.
If Peter Obi had remained in PDP and won the presidential ticket, this election would have been a walk-in-the-park for Tinubu.
All those northern States Atiku won would have been won by Tinubu...and before 2pm various groups would begin to mount pressure on Peter Obi to call Tinubu and congratulate him.
Going to LP and hoping for PDP and NNPP to split northern votes was Peter Obi's best opportunity to become president.
Even in 2027, if Peter Obi must win he should pray for to notable northerners to be on the ballot along with Tinubu...then plot his own rigging strategy, cos in Nigerian election na who rig pass de win not who's more qualified. Obi's time to be President is never ripe, his best bet would have been to remain in PDP has a VP. If he had done that, PDP would have gotten at least 80% of all the state won by Labour today, simply because a Muslim-Muslim ticket will not fly in South-East at all. Remaining in the PDP as a VP could have been OBI's best ticket to presidency, and that is after he has successfully completed his 4-8years tenure as a VP. In fact, it will be easy for him to use power of the Incumbent then, and of course, there is no doubt that the whole country will be yearning to have back a Southern President. As for 2027, forget it, one of Tinubus best strategy so far is "Divide and Rule", And that's exactly what he did with PDP when ObI, Kwakwanso and The G5 left... Do you think Tinubu will let notable Northerner be on the same ticket with him? Talking about rigging, abeg PDP and LP all use their rigging style, otherwise, why are there no PDP or APC representation in the SouthEast? Where is there structure in this election, How come LP took such a huge margin? |

NaijaCowFarm: I am not happy that Peter Obi did not win. There are clear fundamental factors that were so herculean to overcome the very moment LP/NNPP alliance failed. Now that Atiku is seemingly out of the way, it is time to galvanise the opposition towards 2027. It is going to be a marathon, so let us start now. There is no point wasting resources on election tribunal. With the capacity shown by Obi, 2027 is possible, but we need to do the following:
1. Not waste time and resources on election tribunal, but need to let Nigerians know of the brazen robbery APC governors and Wike perpetrated. If the PDP wants to challenge the results, let them do so themselves, without involving LP
2. Get real political structure for Labour Party across Nigeria. One reason we loss was because we did not have strong roots in the North.
3. Galvanise all elected officials to form a formidable force to take on APC, which is already reduced in strength from 21 to 12 states.
4. Peter Obi and LP should focus on the March 11, 2023 governorship polls. Obi should begin touring states LP won to boost morale of LP supports in the 22 states win high voters. Not waste resources in states like Katsina, Yobe, Zamfara.
5. LP leadership should begin talks with NNPP, progressive still in PDP and form a formidable party with structure, just like what ACN/CPC did. We need to start now. LP and NNPP talks will never yield any fruit, Rabiu is positioned for a swift transition from South back to North in 2027 or beyound. LP-OBI has lost his only chance to be president when he moved out of PDP because of greed and sentiments... Moreover, the North will not let the power pot go back to a Southerner after Tinubu's tenure, it will go back to the North, and Rabiu Kwakwanso is better positioned than OBI. It's either Obi use the NNPP platform to run as a VP OR Kwakwaso use the LP platform to run as the next President of Nigeria... On your number 4. Point, the public perception of LP is that it belongs to OBI, now that LP has been able to prove the efficiency of their political structure, I think it might be a reasonable thing for LP to Quickly play their ways to eating up some of the delusioned PDP structures that is left hanging due to the shock of loss of the 2023 election... |

These elections were the most Free and Fair in history of Nigeria.
1. Tinubu was targeted with cash shortage and fuel scarcity. So people were angry with APC
2. Military tanks were deployed to Lagos. So no evidence of ballot snatching.
3. If there was rigging ... Will Tinubu permit Obi to win his LGA. In fact despite seeing a lot of rigging by Labour Party, everyone looked the other way
4. We heard "Fear North" and how North will treat Tinubu's "fuckups" and they did
Let us be factual... Tinubu won these elections free and fair.

SmartPolician: From the verdict, nobody manipulated BVAS.
What BVAS does is accreditation.
That is, confirming that certain number of people that are eligible to vote through facial recognition or fingerprints.
Now, over-voting simply means that BVAS approved 50, for instance, but 70 people voted in a polling booth. This means that the INEC official there was responsible and ought to be punished for it.
However, INEC says that it is overwhelmed with a lot of tasks and that another agency should be set up to punish people for such offenses. That's why people (including INEC officials) keep misbehaving and going scot-free.
I hope this helps.... Thanks for the enlightenment, that is well understood. Although in my opinion, INEC saying that the electoral process is overwhelming is like indirectly admitting that they do not have an efficient system to handle election activities. Hence, signalling that INEC lacks the capacity, and that is why I said they cannot be trusted. |

Dsalvo: See how dumb you are? When others talk facts and make issue-based observation you quickly resort to market women and fish wife tales.
The fact is that Anambra and Lagos are the political jurisdiction of Obi and Tinubu respectably. Both states should showcase the ability of Obi and Tinubu as leaders and must now be their proud residential and operational base to use in laying claim to the Presidency.
An office has two main department and you and I are in charge of one each. You are inept and have run your department down. My department is thriving and a big source of pride to the company. Furthermore, you do not stay in your department that your own leadership made an unpalatable place.
You are always in my department because it is well-run, efficient and full of productive folks different to those in your wretched department.
Yet when the position of CEO becomes vacant you begin to shout that it must be given to you. Who, except misguided sadists who do not wish progress for the company, will endorse you to be CEO?
The department you headed badly is distinct proof you should be sacked from leadership forever instead of going for much higher office with far greater responsibilities and demand than the previous job you failed woefully at.
That is the case with your Obi and it is what Tinubu is rightly shading him over. Deal with that instead of gossiping about issues that have nothing to do with Tinubus sterling 23 years track record with Lagos that contrasts sharply with Obi's failure to lead Anambra well and then, crucially, his even bigger failure of turning his back on Anambra after his tenure ended to move to live in Lagos.
You Obi fans are mainly just Biafran and IPOBian haters of Nigeria who do not mean her well. I love the scenario you painted Unfortunately, these obedients are too sentimental to understand simple logic, they rather listen to Charismatic talk than fact like this. |
