The Presidential Election of Nigeria is not a 'dash", even if it was zoned to you, you still have to Win the Elections.

That is the very definition of GREED, trying to reap where you never sowed. What is fair in that?
Greed is not Fairness.
But take it from me, the North wants Presidency more than any other region and will not mind throwing you the usual Biscuit of a useless, figure-head V.P role, just like Osinbajo is suffering in the last six years but what would never happen is for the North to allow you smell that Aso Rock, even if you are President for the next Fifty years.

In contrast, the North, if perhaps you assist them to the Presidency in 2023, will come back begging the SW in 2027, to become President and make themselves the VP and in that arraignment, Igbos would lose out for another one or two decades.

Any sensible Region will weigh their options:

1) Patience for the SW in 2023, that will guarantee them 8yrs at the Presidency, with a solidarity in place that can even change the Political arrangement of the country (Regionalism and True Restructuring/Federalism)

or

2) Usual Spiteful behaviour driven by GREED, that would give them one or at most two cycles of V.P. and then be booted back to where they have been for the past 50yrs.

I know what a Greedy and Spiteful Race that lives on instant gratification, will opt for and that is not surprising.

Let us assume the Presidency of both Party is zoned to the South. that is APC and PDP must produce a Southerner as President.

It now remains: Where in the three zones APC will chose its President from and same thing goes for PDP
PDP can decide to give it to the SE or SW so let us examine why and who it will give it to:
If the PDP decides to give it to the SW, l will be opposed ot that, WHY?
The SE has worked had and supported the PDP through thick and thin, since 1999, till date.
They voted massively for PDP candidates in 2015 and did same in 2019 and it will only be fair that they get the Presidntial ticket of the PDP/
The SW on the other hand, has not voted or supported the PDP, whether in 2015 or 2019/

On the APC side, we all know that the Party is basically 75% ACN, a SW party, with CPC making up the remaining 25%.
So, we wont be wrong to say the SW created and nurtured this party, from AD in 1999, to ACN in 2011 to APC in 2015.
The SW voted massively for APC in 2015 and in 2019, allowing Buhari a Northerner, to be President for 8yrs.
The arrangement within the APC is also that the Candidate of its junior member, the CPC (Buhari) will have the go first, to foster trust, while it will them go after their own candidate.
So it is only natural for the APC to nominate a SW President, to compensate them for their investment and support in the APC.
The Igbos did not support the APC in 2015 and 2019, they supported the PDP.

As we can see, the matter has diced itself clearly, each Party should nominate the Region of the South, that supported in in 2015 and 2019, as a reward for that support.

PDP = SE
APC = SW

Each of these Region cannot win election by itself, so it is now left to them to go around the Middle Belt and the North, to canvass for support, to finally win the General Election.
This is the only fair and democratic principle, where everyone reaps, where they have sowed.

I get your logic but you are trying to be clever by half. We all know that APC being the ruling party have the upper hand in winning the 2023 presidential election. Also the APC being the majority party in the north and SW as well. So pitting a SE PDP candidate against a SW APC one can only bring about a foregone conclusion. The only fair deal is to have the SE on both tickets

Your governors are mostly silent on the issue because your states rake in more from VAT than they contribute. Only a few staes in the federation subsidize the rest

If the presidency is zoned to the South, then in all fairness it should go to the South East. That's the only zone in the south that's yet to produce either the president or VP

The land in question doesn't even belong to the Kaduna state government it belongs to the Nigerian college of aviation technology.
