In Minna, Niger State, Governor Aliyu lamented the crisis in Rivers State, saying what was on the ground indicated that the Commissioner of Police was now the governor of of the state. Aliyu, who received the Commissioner for Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission, Ambassador Zubairu Dada, at the Government House, said, “You saw what is happening in Rivers State? A Commissioner of Police has now become the Governor of Rivers State. Is that the image we want the world to look out to? The governor, who is also the chairman of Northern States Governors’ Forum, recalled that since he became his state’s chief executive, “there has not been a Police Council Meeting.” According to him, the PCM is supposed to “decide the appointment of Police Commissioners and their deployment.” He therefore called for a reduction of the funds and powers available to the Federal Government because it(Federal Government) had no business in the provision of health, water, agriculture and education. “There is too much money at the centre for the Federal Government to spend and that is why they are creating problems for the states, “ Aliyu advised. Pointing out that Nigeria was in a bad shape, he claimed that nobody knows the amount of oil the country produces. Culled: Osun Defender |
After many years in prison, he was finally released on Friday, 12th July, 2013. From the prison, the first port of call was T.B. Joshua’s place. Efforts to get in touch with Prophet T.B. Joshua to know what his visit was all about was like a blind man trying to put a thread through the eye of a needle. What a hard situation! At last, we were able to get a few words from Prophet T.B. Joshua. Q: Can you tell us the purpose of Mustapha’s visit to you? A: I got to know him many years ago when a petition was addressed to General Bamaiyi who was the then Chairman of the NDLEA. As you know, several efforts had been made by my detractors to bring me and my ministry down. One of those efforts was that petition. I was arrested for investigation and it was later discovered that it was a tissue of lies. I spent nine days with them for investigation and they found the whole thing to be a fabrication. From there, I was taken to Aso Rock (City of Power) to see the president. It was there that I met Mustapha. I was able to reveal to them who I am by telling them what was to come as a prophet. One of those things I mentioned to them and to Mustapha in particular, was what he went through, though he did not believe me then. That was why when it came to pass, I was the first person he remembered. I told him that he would spend several years in prison and would be finally released which no one else had ever told him. That is why you see him coming here as his first port of call. Where there is no vision, people perish. I am surprised you are asking me why he is coming here first. When you look into your archives as journalists, you will find many stories in the past about my visit to Aso Rock, (City of Power) while Bamaiyi was Chairman of NDLEA. Many magazines and newspapers published my visions and prophecies on the government and the presidency. When you know your picture of tomorrow, it will impart a strength to endure your present difficulty. When you know what you are passing through now will not last long, you will endure it. This is vision; this is prophecy. This can only come by revelation. This is what the Bible means by, “Where there is no vision, the people perish” (Proverbs 29:18). I will leave you here. Halima Babingida is a freelance Nigerian journalist who followed Al-Mustapha as he left prison and traced him to T.B. Joshua’s ministry where she managed to get this exclusive interview and picture for Nigeriafilms. source: http://247nigerianewsupdate.com |

Appeal court sets Lateef Sofolahan free. The court said the prosecution did not prove its case convincingly. The Court of Appeal in Lagos has discharged and acquitted Lateef Sofolahan from the murder of Kudirat Abiola. The judgment overturns that of the Lagos High Court, which sentenced him and Major Hamza Al- Mustapha to death by hanging. Mr. Sofolahan was a former personal assistant to Mrs. Abiola. The presiding judge relied on the same grounds that it acquitted Mr. Mustapha, that the prosecution failed to prove its case beyond reasonable doubt. |

Since the moment you left me Peace departed my mind The moment you said good bye Joy avoided me completely As soon as you turned your back on me The land of my heart suffered drought. You were the light that illuminated my path The music that plays in my heart You were the oil that lubricates my soul The sunshine that germinates the seeds of love in me. This break you took is bad I feel like an abandoned garden The beautiful flowers in my world are dying The soil called my soul is dry and rough The cool breeze which your presence blows Has stopped to come my way ever since. The weather around me is hot and harsh You were the umbrella that keeps guard on me Against the scorching sun and rain of life Why did you withdraw to leave me stranded? Come and listen to my heart beat The tunes of want are high and loud Look at my eyes and see The emptiness is huge and deep Hold my hand and feel my longing It's strong and high ,I swear. Oh my angel, is it not strange That our world of love Is collapsing under your feet? An angel smiles in peace and joy Your beauty should make my heart To dance and crave Not to cry in neglect and pain. Come back here and take my hand The birds are singing some melody for us Let our hearts dance in unconscious collaboration For indeed our world beckons Those who listen may not understand For indeed it's a matter of the heart It's me and you, together my dear The break is over Our love must return. |
